Lakers Sign & Trade For Jonathan Kuminga?
What’s going on everyone? So, I think the Los Angeles Lakers should throw their hat in the rain for Jonathan Kaminga. Obviously, it depends on what you have to give up in order to land Jonathan Kaminga. But I really think in the right role, right situation, right circumstance, he could be a star. I mean, he showed the glimpses with the Golden State Warriors. The problem is that Golden State had him like all over the place. like he would go and give them like 25 and they would look to him to be kind of like the second guy out there and then like two straight games he’d get like DNPs like and then next game he comes off the bench and the next game he’s starting and then like they give him an inconsistent role and then get upset with him when he was inconsistent and it’s like what do you expect now look I I understand Jonathan Kaminga he didn’t do himself any favors he kind of you know be a little laxidasical out there you know take possessions off not really be bought in defensive ly. He’s 22 years old. He’ll be 23 to start next season in October. Hey, like he has a ton of upside, a ton of potential. He’s already a guy that has proven that he could be a 20 point a game scorer in this league. He can play defense. He’s a hyper athlete. He’s the exact player the Lakers need. A guy that can score the basketball, shoot the basketball, defend at a high level, right? It’s just getting him focused, locked in, and engaged. and Jonathan Amiga there right now the Warriors are kind of in this rock and hard place cuz Jonathan Amiga does not want to return to the Warriors, right? On top of that they are having a hard time finding a sign and trade for him and teams are starting to drop out. Phoenix already dropped out. A couple other teams are rumored to potentially be dropping out and so they’re having a hard time getting a trade done. They supposedly are signing DeAnthony Melton and Al Horford as soon as the Jonathan Kaminga thing kind of frees up and and clears up. Jonathan Kaminga wants $30 million, right? It’s a little rough cuz as good as he has shown, he hasn’t shown the consistency to warrant 30 million. I think 20 25 million. You might be thinking like Tyler 25 million 30 million like but that five million is the difference between you being an apron team or not. That five million is the difference between you you know being a lot right like 5 million is a lot like by NBA standards. Um even so I don’t know how I’d feel about giving him 30 million. you would be it would be a pretty hefty gamble, but I don’t know like if it pays off, Lakers look like geniuses and I don’t think he’ll lose like trade value. Like like let’s say you do end up signing him and you know a year from now it’s just not working and it’s just he’s not what you want to be. There’s always going to be that team that looks and goes like we can do better. Like like he’s a guy that is still young enough at 23, 24 years old. He’s still good enough and young enough to be that. I mean, even as as as inconsistent as bad as he can be, he still was 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and 45% from the floor. Still really good for game of basketball. Talk about a guy that’s legit 67 68. You can slot him in as your starting three. start them consistently, right? And maybe you could pull something off to where, you know, you’re working on a sign and trade for Jonathan. You’re already hard kept at the first apron, so a sign and trade doesn’t matter, right? And go bring in Jonathan Kaminga. The question is like, what do the Warriors want? Cuz like I’m I’m not selling the farm for Jonathan Kaminga, right? Like, you know, I if if it’s like, hey, we’ll give you Rui Hachimura, right? that gives you a guy that can slot in, shoot the basketball, score the basketball, slot in at either wing position for you, kind of give you, you know, a more consistent Jonathan Kaminga. Um, or like what you’re looking for Kaminga to do, kind of give you a little more consistency. Um, you know, you’d still have to add in, you know, like uh I don’t know, like do they want a Maxi Cleba, right? Or Gabe Vincent maybe, especially if they’re Well, if they’re going to get the Anthony Melton, then then that might make things tough. But my like my point is like okay can you basically put a package like if you told me Ruie Daltton connect and then whatever for a um you know Jonathan Kaminga I wouldn’t I wouldn’t hate it like let’s say it’s Maxi Ka right let’s say they’re like hey we’re going to get the Anthony M we’re going to get Al Horford we like a Maxi Kipa right so you do you know a uh I said you do a um yeah you land Kaminga you do a Ruy Dalton connect and then that that gets you 33 million or whatever and then the Warriors send out like if you have to find a third team you find a third team whatever you have to do right is my point you figure it out maybe it’s just Ruie and and you know connect going and the Lakers are landing you know Kaminga and somebody else is landing Gabe Vincent maybe somebody throws a second if you had to throw in like some pick swaps or like a second or whatever sure but I’m not trading my first right like I I I just I wouldn’t it’s like good luck try to find another destination or keep him and then watch him throw a tantrum because he has to be a warrior, right? You think he’s bad and checks out now, just wait, right? So, that’s kind of my thoughts with that regard. If you can get him on a reasonable deal, free up roster spots, free up cap space. Again, it’s kind of a a risky move, but Lakers are going to have to take some risk at some point, especially in the new CBA. I don’t, like I mentioned, I don’t think he’s a guy that’s going to lose his value. I don’t think he’s a guy that, you know, you’re going to have to pay somebody to take. he’s young enough and talented enough and skilled enough to where I think he’ll he’ll show that he’ll still retain some level of trade value is my point. Also, you’re never going to get him more motivated than this season. And that’s kind of what this year feels like, right? Kind of feels like the season of motivation. And I think Jonathan Kaminga sorting in with the Lakers would really help with that because you’re going to have Aluca that’s hungry, motivated, and wanting to prove himself. You’re going to have a Deion DeAndre Aton who’s hungry, motivated, and wants to prove himself. A Marcus Smart who’s hungry, motivated, and wants to prove himself. Why not add in a Jonathan Kaminga? Why not bring in Kaminga and let him be another guy that’s hungry, motivated, and wants to prove himself, right? You’ll probably never get a better Jonathan Kaminga than this year. But he’s also everything this team needs. Everything. Young, athletic, versatile, 3 and D, get you buckets. He’s not, you know, not the best three-point shooter, but defensively he can score the basketball, he can play off ball, on ball, he’s athletic, he could be a lop threat for Luca. Like, he’s a guy that has a ton of versatility that I I would love to see the Lakers get. I mean, look, you could look at it like this. Like, your starting five in a couple years could be potentially if it works out. Luca, Bronny, um, Jonathan Kaminga, Adu Theoro, or Kaminga on the other wing, doesn’t matter. and then DeAndre and that could be your starting five literally for the next six to eight years like and and have the the defense and the offense and the versatility and the switch ability and you know Jonathan Amingo’s ability especially if Jonathan Amingo does become a star which he’s shown again he has shown star potential he has shown the ability I mean that guy’s gone off and had you know 30 point nights 25 point nights scores 20 regularly and and that’s with inconsistency that’s with you know having DMPS or nights where he’s only getting 12 minutes of action or whatever. Like again, he’s not a perfect player, but he’s 22 years old or will be 22 years old, right? Like or he is 22. He’ll be 23 in October, right? So again, he’s a kid. He’s he’s a year older than the draft guy we just got. Like he’s young enough to have been drafted in this year’s draft, but he’s already proven. He’s already had a couple years under his belt. He’s had playoff runs. He’s been in the finals, right? like he’s a guy that, you know, at least h he has more experience now than most guys do, you know, and there for for somebody that keeps regularly leaning into him and then like it’s just it’s hard to find consistency when you’re not given consistency. It’s hard to be consistent when you’re never allowed to to have any form of consistency. And I think if Jonathan, like if you went and got Jonathan Aminga and you’re like, “Hey, this is what we’re looking for you to do. We want you to slot in. You’re going to be our starting three. We need you to rebound, defend, do the dirty work, make the hustle plays, shoot the basketball, score the basketball. You’re going to have times where you do get the ball, and you do get to go get buckets, and you do get to kind of be you. But when you’re not getting those opportunities, you need to be buying in and doing the other things. We need you to be the best defensive player on this starting unit. we need you to take pride, buy it, right? Like again, maybe he does it because he needs to prove himself, right? And then all of a sudden, you might like you end up becoming the team that everyone goes, “Wow, I can’t believe that.” Again, it just depends on what the Warriors are willing to kind of budge in order to get off of him, but they might not have a choice at this point. Like that’s that’s the thing. He does not want to go back to the Warriors, right? So, does he hold out? Like, it it could get messy. It could get messy quick. Um but let’s go over kind of what he’s done. Let’s go over the numbers, right? Um 47 games played, 10 games started, 24.3 minutes per game, which was again down from the previous year. Uh he got 12.1 field goal attempts per game. Shot 45.4% from the field. Now three-point shooting did not shoot great last season on 3.2 attempts was 30 and a half%. That is awful. No way around it. That is awful. But he did shoot 37% on 2.2 two attempts uh in 2022 2023 if he can get back to that next year. Got to keep in mind he’s be playing alongside Luca Donic, LeBron James um and uh Austin Reeves, right? So the quality of looks that he’s going to get are just better than what he’s getting even on the Warriors, right? Like he’s going to be able to just get wide open looks. So can he get back up, you know, at least next year? Again, he’s a kid. Let him develop, right? But can he kind of get back up to that 36 37% range? That would be fantastic. uh 51% which is actually the lowest of his career from two point range on nine attempts. Um previous years were um 58% 59% and then uh 60% 59.8%. EFG of 49.5% which again was the lowest of his career. Free throw shooting uh 66.8% which uh again was not his best. He’s a career 70% guy. He was 74.6% the year prior. uh 4.6 rebounds, uh 2.2 assist, a steal, half a block, and 15.3 points. His best season was the year prior again in which he averaged uh 16.1 points, um five rebounds, two assist, a steal, and half a block. Um so, yes, that was um his best season. You look at his per 36. Again, per 36 doesn’t tell you everything, but it kind of gives you an idea. 22.6 six points, uh, seven rebounds, three assists, one and a half steals, and a block. Lakers need wing depth and help and Lakers Nation could look to the Golden State Warriors for Jonathan Kuminga. Lakers Trade for Kuminga would have to be a S&T but might be worth the Lakers to throw the hat In the ring. Lakers News of landing Kuminga would give a young versatile prospect that can slot into the Lakers starting 3 spot.

Lakers won’t do this but it’s definitely a good trade and you give him the opportunity he will excel. We can develop him.
I would give up Rui, Dalton, Maxi.
Rui Gabe and Kleber for Kuminga and Payton sign and trade
Why not Austin reeves for Jonathan?
🤯🤯 this man said he’s not giving a 1st for a 22 year old Kaminga but wasted a 1st the last 3 drafts and thinks a 27/28 year old Austin Reaves is worth multiple 1st and/or and All-Star 🤯🤯🤯🤯 when Kaminga in closer to being an All-Star coming off the damn bench then anyone the Lakers have outside of Luka & Bron 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ man Austin Reaves tried to defend Kawhi and literally just fainted….. do you think Kaminga is gonna just collapse before Kawhi like that????
Jonathan Kuminga career stats are 12.5 pts, 4 reb, 1.8 ast, .6 stl. Rui career stats are 12.8 points, reb 4.8 reb, 1.3 ast, .6 stl. He does not really seem any better than Rui. Not sure why people are always wanting to get rid of Rui. He is pretty good. Now if you said vando, maxi, gabe I would understand that.
I’d rather have Rui, who we already have
I am a Luka fan so by default i want the Lakers to get better. But why the fuck would the Dubs want Kleber and Gabe? 😂
Kuminga would be a great pickup if we can get it done we should get it done not willing to give reaves for him tho
Nah they are done making moves til the deadline
Sign him up.
Haha every day its this guy that guy this guy gets just wait FOR NOTHING TO HAPPEN they will not make anymore moves until lebum leaves town
Stop it,we are not getting anyone good
No Gabe and knecht for kuminga fair trade
3 players with picks for kuminga hell no , Dalton knecht and anyone out of Gabe , rui or kleber for kuminga he’s a nice 3&d wing
Knecht kleber or rui , kleber and 2nd pick swap that’s fair
Will the warriors trade him to us ? That’s the real question 🤔 cuz if so I’d jump on that quick and he match Lukas timeline this team could be good for years if we bring in the right pieces needed to compete for years kuminga is a solid pick up I’d pull the trigger on that trade 💯 percent go get em
If we get kuminga all we really need now is a backup center in either Vuc, Jalen Smith, Bitadze, . Imagine if we got kuminga and pj Washington we’d probably have to trade vando then which I wouldn’t mind . Trade vando and knecht to the warriors for kuminga
We all need to stop this
Kuminga is not close to a star ⭐️ I get he is athletic but a star starts in the Brain
This guy is a role player and that’s all he is
Luka (or Lebron before Luka came), could've told the Lakers to trade Reaves and whoever is necessary to get Kuminga. Kerr likes Reaves and he would've been in their rotation unlike Kuminga so it would've happened. This is just a horrible hypothetical because we aren't trading for him
Are you stupid? You have zero shot at Kuminga.
I wouldn't mind him as a Laker
This guy doesn’t kno basketball man he jus be talking nothing he reports make sense .
pwedi kunin kuminga para itrade na austin reaves
If anybody is wondering how good Kuminga is watch his games in the playoffs. He literally All Star caliber player right now. For some strange reason Kerr doesn't want to be anything more than a role player. When he goes to another team he'll be a All Star within 3 years
Bruh Reaves can go for Kuminga. Y'all act like Reaves is a all star caliber player and he is not.
Ya yeah if the Warriors don't mind pitching into the Lakers next championship run. I'd do it
Depending upon what you have to give up it would make sense. I would include Knect in the trade I think both of them need a new environment to evolve their games. I really like DK but I feel he's in the same space as Kuminga with the Warriors. DK could fit in well with the Warriors system and vice versa for Kuminga.
Aurthur Kaluma is cheaper.
Ofcourse he wont read Kuminga playoffs stats Vs Reaves Playoffs stats against the same team and despite curry injured he still came off thr bench and demolished Reaves potential in the play offs with all star numbers off the bench and Ant couldn't handle Kuminga defense
This is never happening unless they trade Austin for him and the number has to be 20 mil not 30 mil over 2 or 3 years
he's not a big upgrade from rui so why waste assets trading for him
I like it👍… Only for 15 to 20mil a year tops.. I'd also trade him for Reaves and picks, (can give you the same 20pts a game+) he's cheaper, younger, and more athletic, would be able thrive beside Luka and Bron🤔
Honestly I’d start him and bench Rui. We need his athleticism but I just feel like the warriors would ask for a ton but they also don’t have any leverage if he doesn’t want to sign. But I’d definitely look at that he could be really good and add him to our younger squad
This is ironic given DKs situation…
Kuminga got no basketball IQ. Thats why he couldnt get on the Court. He would be aweful playing for this Lakers team. Plus he thinks he is better than he is. Ill take Rui all day long.
L take jk for 30 k lmao
He’s basically a lesser rui. Not bad but you don’t need two of those same players
Lakers: Wiggins GoGa – we will fix every hole. we are 100% contenders!
Miami: Riu klebar DK 1Frp (top 5 protected)
Orlando: Gabe 1srp
This dudes account should be shut down. He posted this as if this was an actual possibility. He never has any real news.
Why can’t we get Bol Bol
i'd do Kuminga for Reeves straight up. Deal helps both teams right away. Younger, more athletic, better defender, more upside. I'd then IMMEDIATELY make the Rui/Knecht/1st deal for Wiggins. Smart, Wiggins, Kuminga, Adou Thiero…we instantly become a better defensive team with athletic wings that can compete against teams like Houston and OKC.
Can the Lakers sign Kuminga( PF), and Wiggins ( or another Miles)? Then LA will move the needle stick
Yes him and Adou THIERO would be nice
Rui and a 1st Round pick. Deals done. Loseminga will do great on the Lakers.
I agree with you 100%
Oh man! When is it going to stop.
The lakers need ANDREW WIGGINS. NOT KUMINGA.
