New York Knicks Liberty vs Indiana Pacers Fever Live Stream | WNBA 2025 Full GAME
No cap. Nicely done. My kids are going to be so mad at me for that one. How do you feel about her fit with this particular roster? She’s an incredible fit. You know, a six wild nice move by Izzy Harrison. She’s like, “Talk about my fit with this roster.” Emma 6’4, can face up, extend the defense out. She She’s a terrific passer. Can play in the paint as well. I mean, this gives the New York Liberty flexibility potentially to go to with huge ro uh huge lineups within their roster. I mean, any team would have been thrilled to add MMA. Boston s the jumper. Indiana is six for their last eight from the floor after starting 0 for four. Also signed Stephanie Talbett as Ste. Calvin a good potential wing rotation piece for them. How about Mitchell playing with pace and finding Boston for two. Does a great job. Cut the ball right over midcourt and then made things happen with her speed and dribble penetration. Dish bounces inside. Stewart probing and a whistle as McDonald was trying to hang with Izzy Harrison and giving significant injuries to her. Jesse Mitchell in transition. She just bos and weaves. multiple players, draws the defense, and then times the pass perfectly to Aaliyah Boston. You just see Darren McDonald pick up her second foul. Both times it’s been when she’s switched on to a bigger player and trying to use physicality to keep him out of the paint. And that was one thing that Stephanie White talked to us about where they miss Caitlyn Clark on the defensive end, talking about the size difference between McDonald and Caitlyn along with Kelsey and having the two small guards on the floor together rather than Caitlyn at 6 foot. Yeah, just limits your ability to switch in those situations. Stewart short on the jumper. Here comes blasting into the paint. Pops it up. A little too strong. Yescu yet to attempt a field goal. Sabrina got in some trouble there. Got bumped. No call. Sabrinaified. Looked like a lot of contact. No whistle. Here’s Paul on a three off the bar. Goneses. A long rebound. A teammate to either side. What a dish. It’s on a beautiful delivery from Sabrina. So many things I loved about that play, including at the end of it, she points at Kennedy Burke, who ran the floor, helped spread the defense so Sabrina can make that pass. And a whistle going the other way. An offensive foul called against Indiana. Just watch this in all of its glory. A perfectly placed bounce pass and then pointing at Kennedy Burke. You helped make this play happen by running your lane, stretching the defense. Just beautifully done by the New York Liberty. Stephanie Tal into the game getting a nice hand in her first minutes for New York. Meanwhile, that foul was number two on Aaliyah Boston who remains in the game. So, Ary McDonald with two and Boston with two. Here’s Yanescu fighting off a lot of contact on the perimeter and then throws it away. That trap just came and was so aggressive that Sabrina Yanesco did not see until a little bit too late how open Izzy Harrison was. But that’s Aaliyah. Credit to Aaliyah Boston was just super active with her hands. Watch the trap come. But watch Boston high hands right in her face. Right in her face. Make it hard for her to see. And if the player’s open, it doesn’t matter if the guard can’t deliver it. And that was something that Sandy Brondella was expecting, thinking Indiana would go back to a more physical style of defense like we saw around the commissioner scuff. Good box out there from Talbin. Here’s Marine Johannes into the game with Harrison, Yonescu, and Burke in the corner. She got it. Kennedy B shooting a sizzling 49% from three entering this game. Johnson rims out here firing away. And just like that, the lead is seven for New York. An 80 run backto back threes. This happened when these teams played a week ago at the end of the first quarter. from New York was just able to go on a run and create some separation. Big three there from Sophie Cunningham. And Caitlyn Clark likes what she sees. I like the fit from Caitlyn tonight. So do I. I mean, the uniform is always preferred for a few right here, but here’s Lexi Hall. Will pull up and knock it down in transition. What a confident stroke from Lexi Hall. And a great response these last two possessions from the Indiana Fever. Good action in this first quarter between New York and Indiana. Yescu through the lane across her body, unable to drop it in. And now the Fever can hold for a final shot. Coulson. 4 seconds left. Coulson gives it up. Cunningham can’t hit and that will do it for the first. New York a 2322 lead after one. Really fun back and forth action at Barkley. Sabrinu a conversation about the contact. Time for tonight’s access brought to you by Dub. Let’s send things to Holly Row. Well Natasha kind of a wild back and forth in the first quarter. You guys go on a big run to take the lead and now they’ve got a little bit of run and you answer. How are you getting that energy and pace right now? It’s our defense. Started with our defense in the first quarter right there. It was it was our defense, but we gave up easy buckets, easy buckets on the uh on the other end, too. But we got to pick up our defense a little bit more in the second half. In the second quarter, you guys have had a lot of fluctuations in your roster. Caitlyn’s out tonight. How do you adapt and move on quickly? Next man up. Next woman up. I mean, next woman up. Uh like coach said, be ready. You don’t got to get ready. Thank you so much, Kelly. All right. All right. Well, Natasha Howard with eight points on three of three shooting in the first. Some threes back and forth down the final minutes from both teams. And it’s a 23-22 New York lead after one with Caitlyn Clark liking what she sees. One bucket. Two bucket. Big bucket. All about a bucket. Bucket. Bucket. Purple bucket. Yo, Buckets, you coming? Yeah, I’m coming. What’s up, Buckets? Your favorite’s here. Is that a bucket? Big bucket, baby. From every bucket on the court to your biggest savings buckets. Yep. Allies in the game. Easy, Stewie. The Liberty a 23-22 lead on the fever. the official start to the second half of the season post Allstar break and right now we chat with Beaver head coach Stephanie White. Coach, what do you like most about the way your team played in that first? I like the way we answered their run. I like the way we came out and we shot with confidence. We missed some early and we stuck with it. How about defensively? You seem to have pretty good energy on that end of the floor. Yeah, we’ve had really good energy, but we can’t have lapses in our coverage here. We missed a couple, gave Sabrina an open look, a little bit of lapses on our own ball screen coverage, so we got to be tighter there. All right, thanks a lot Stephanie. We appreciate it. Good battle here and Lexi Ho comes up with a steal and Sydney Coulson able to save it but just a dit and then Coulson comes back. How about two steals from Coulson in a matter of 7 seconds. There’s that activity defensively from Indiana. Seven turnovers from the Liberty. Here’s Hull. Eight to shoot. directing traffic, bouncing out. Dunis with one to shoot. Puts it up. Got it on the rim. Nothing more. Jones the rebound after missing the last nine games. Donlo Jones back for New York. Here’s Cloud. Jones has the position on the reverse. Couldn’t quite spin it in. Here comes Cunningham who slid back into the starting lineup today. Hull short on a three. Hull came off the bench in this one. The luxury your 66 center and the ability to bring the ball up the floor and initiate the offense. Here’s Burke. Burke up under and in. Kennedy Burke with a nice finish. been so impressed with her over the course of the last few games as the New York Liberty force a turnover there with Kennedy Burke and not just taking the threes but her ability to get inside, use her footwork to finish. We just saw a perfect example of that. Back to the basket, spin maneuver. Stewart cleaning and hitting Brianna Stewart who had a huge game last Wednesday against Indiana had 24 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and four blocks. And in that game, most of her points came from right around the restricted area. Indiana just could not keep Brana Stewart in front of them. And we’ll get a chance to see here. This time it’s off of a cut. Catches the ball going towards the basket and then just gets inside, elevates, finishes with that high release. Second foul. And Natasha Cloud. You know, I thought Holly brought up a really interesting thing in the makeup room where most of our great conversations happen before the game. And she was just talking about the the old guard of transcendent stars who have retired over the last few years, right? Sue Bird by Moore officially Sylvia Fowls Diana Terasi Candace Parker as Johannes hits the three and how the new age even though they’re still young is led by Brianna Stewart, Asia Wilson. Right now it’s the Liberty who are on a 70 run. It’s the hard knock life for us. It’s the hard knock life for us. Every move we make was every life. It’s a hard knock life for us. The last bucket, this Marine Johannes three. Always love that running onelegged style. This time fading away. And that brings us to tonight’s Applac trivia question. And Rebecca, it might be one that you might have some knowledge of. Here it is. who made the first three in WNBA history. Okay. So, it would have been somebody from that New York Liberty versus LA Sparks game, a game you started in. Yes. Penny Toller made the first basket of the game. Correct. Was the first three Vicky Johnson? It was not. Uh, let’s answer the Apple trivia question right now. Do you want to take one more guess? No. Just tell me. Oh, the answer is Rhonda Blades. My teammate. Yes. Okay. Rhonda Blades. I did not know that. Now, here’s another trivia question for you. Rhonda made the first. Do you know who made the second ever three in this league’s history? I don’t. You really don’t? I really You of all people should know who made the second. Did I make the second one? Yes, you did. Yay. Nicely done. I honestly had no idea Ryan would go the hopper. The Hall of Famer made the second ever three. Oh, Johannes, you want to see that second three, Rebecca? How about it? I do. I like the left corner. Let’s flash back. It sure is, Ryan. You bet. Yay. I’ve never had a You bet call for me. The beauty is you can’t tell. That banked in. No, stop it. It did. The audience would have never known. You’re too honest. I I tried to make it with one of my teammates. That was a shot that Gino had you working on. The bank corner three. Yes. I’m so glad I finally got to use that. Yes. I love it when the AFL trivia just comes together like that. Pure poetry. Mitchell. Oh my goodness. What a gorgeous dance from Kelsey Mitchell. She is just incredible. Her quickness and and lateral mobility is ridiculous. Cloud finds Jones. Got bumped. Gets it back. Fighting through a lot of contact again. No whistle. Here’s Mitchell. Mitchell a three. That one’s off. Jones had it deflected by Cunningham, but Stewart in the open floor. Cloud will drive it and play it in. Beautiful take there from Natasha Cloud. Here’s Boston. Nice action there with Cunningham. Couldn’t finish it. Jones able to knock it away. The flick ahead to Cloud. Bullet pass to Stewart. Needed a catcher Smith for that one. And a whistle. How many fouls was Jon Jones drawn here? And going to go back to that drive by Kelsey Mitchell. If they ever decide in the WNBA Allstar to go to like a one-on-one competition, I might put my money on Kelsey Mitchell. I mean, she is just ridiculous the way she moves with the ball in her hands. You know, she So, they are going to look at this to see if it was late. It looks like it was on time. You know who she reminds me of in those moments? What is she remind? Someone who’s in the crowd tonight. John Turo in Mr. De’s. Sneaky, sneaky. You know, when I see Kelsey Mitchell, right, John, wouldn’t you agree? Sneaky, sneaky for Kelsey Mitchell. Mr. Deed’s maybe a deep cut, you know, for some one of the the best Adam Sandler movies of all time in my opinion. Oh, you have to see it. It’s a great plane movie for you. Now Turo has become a mainstay here. Yes. At Barkley Center. Became a Liberty season ticket holder. So he may not want to see any more of the sneaky sneaky from Kelsey Mitchell. You might want to see it from someone else. Yes, exactly. Bob inside and Jones with the positioning. That’s going to be Yeah. Oh, or a foul on her. Yeah, it’s going to be a foul on John Quo Jones that time as she was linked up with Natasha Howard. Jones, meanwhile, 0 for six since making her first shot. And that time that left hand, the push off, gets called for the foul. She’s just a handful though, Ryan, when she’s rolling out of a pick and roller. Just when she’s posting up, she just is so big and so strong, it’s tough to defend her. Here’s Mitchell. Nice little pocket pass and Boston cashes in. Again, what Stephanie White told us in her interview with us at the beginning of the quarter, just nice responses tonight from Indiana after these New York runs. And time out taken by Sandy Brondello. Leah Boston has become so good in the pick and roll. This time it’s with Kelsey Mitchell. The beautiful left-handed pocket pass and then the finish by Boston. How? Good time. Just a good time. A great time. Yeah. I don’t know that there was a more fun person to hang out with on Allstar weekend than Megan Rapino. Here’s Boston pivoting inside. Couldn’t finish it the first time. Harrison able to secure the rebound. Threw it into trouble, but Fish grabs it. Here’s Cloud Cuffing it up and off. McDonald off to Cunningham. catch fire and it’s hit from three. Indiana back in front. And how about how well Sophie Cunningham has been playing over the course of the last couple of weeks. She has really found her shot, especially when they go with the small lineup. They’re not in it now, but she’s really helped spread the floor for Indiana. Yanescu around and off those last four games before the All-Star break, Cunningham averaged 13 points, 10 of 19 from three. She’s two for four tonight. Beaver on an 112 run after New York started the quarter on a 70 run and a foul here against Feebish. Sophie Cunningham running the lane, spacing out on the left side and just gets her feet set so quickly and a quick trigger as well. Well guys, you notice Sophie Cunningham wearing that heavy brace on her right ankle early in the season. She twisted her ankle two separate times. We’re starting to see what they anticipated she could be for this lineup if that ankle sprain is not kept her out early in the season. Yeah, that’s such a great point, Holly, because we see players who come back. It doesn’t mean they’re 100%. We’ve seen that with Tman as well throughout this season. As Harrison lays it in, Harrison has brought great great minutes on both ends of the floor here in the first half. Mitchell with the answer from deep. We saw that from Izzy Harrison in that game last Wednesday as well. Played some really good minutes against Indiana. Cunningham comes up with a steal and it looked like she was getting tackled, but it’ll be a jump ball. And now right on Q Cunningham coming out of there a little bit banged up. Knocking knees a little bit there maybe. But she has to take the jump ball if she wants to stay in the game. Indiana Fever trying to get her out right there on the ankle. You see Cunningham still limping around as she got to Stewart. Now trying to get back to her. Stewart misses the three. She has not shot it well from three this season. Been the one unusual part of her game. Good look from McDonald into Howard and Indiana with its largest lead. Howard doing a great job to hold the seal on one end and then Kennedy Burke the same on the other. They have the mismatch with a smaller guard on them defensively. That’s what you’re supposed to do. Here’s Mitchell again blasting to the cup and gets the whistle. You don’t want to break the seal, Ryan. Ever, especially when you’re big and you’ve got a little trying to front you. And so first, Natasha Howard does it on one end, Kennedy Burke on the other, and both are able to capitalize. Such great advice for all the young people out there. Let’s take a look at the upcoming WNBA National TV schedule. Tomorrow night on CBS Sports Net, it’s Atlanta and Phoenix at 10 Eastern. Thursday on Prime Video, Vegas and Indiana at 7:00, Friday on ION, Phoenix and New York 7:30, followed by Dallas Golden State. For more on these games, please go to wNBA.com or visit the WNBA app. We have a second game of our double header here tonight on ESPN with Atlanta and Vegas. Man, Asia Wilson last couple of games has been on one. And Vegas is a team that still feels like there’s a run in there rather than just dancing with 500. Fish trying to force it in. Howard on the steel. Harrison takes it back and lays it in. Two minutes to go in this first half of 40 to 38 Indiana lead. And Izzy Harrison’s minutes are even more valuable when the Arasabli not playing today due to rest. McDonald forces it in the foul. That’s a strong take. has little guards, but their little guards have quickness. And here Ary McDonald just exploding by, able to get the and one opportunity. Bish gets her with the body and you see the reaction from Caitlyn Clark who there still is no further update. She remains dayto day with that right groin tweak. was meeting with different specialists and doctors today and Stephanie White telling us a plan was being formulated, but that had not been officially decided upon yet. Obviously, Indiana and the league can’t wait to get back her back on the floor. Missed it right and long. Now, one thing we’ve seen with Caitlyn consistently though, Rebecca, is even in the game she doesn’t play, she is out signing autographs. We actually had Fiser, one of our tape ops, we didn’t have, he just did this, counted the amount of autographs. She signed 108 autographs here in this pregame session. And we know from talking to both Kaitlin and people around the Fever that in the games she doesn’t play. Kaitlin has made a point to say, “Hey, I still want to make sure I come out, I sign autographs, I’m visible, I know there are people who have come here to see me, and if they can’t see me play, I still want to be as interactive as I can.” Yeah. Good for her. Here is Boston. Crosscourt. Mitchell fires. You bet on a three. Indiana has opened up an eight-point lead and a timeout taken by New York. Just the fourth player in WNBA history with more than 50-pointers made in each of her first eight seasons. Look at the names. Diana Maya Katie. This is royalty. But there’s a reason that she’s a little bit different in the last two seasons. You’ve noticed her frame has slimmed down. She’s moving quicker, cutting quicker. Like we saw in that previous play, she has started training with a football trainer who is having her do backpedaling, quick cuts, much like a defensive backwood. And if you watch her play on the court, you’re going to be like, “Oh my gosh, that’s what’s different. The way she cuts and moves off the ball, she’s a little DB out here. I think the Colts need to sign her to some action.” I thought it was really interesting too during Allstar weekend when we spoke with Caitlin during the broadcast and she talked about, you know, just how happy she was for Kelsey who been with the organization so long and to have this weekend. I mean, you look at Kelsey Mitchell’s career. She stuck it out through some really difficult years with the Fever where they were in a historically long playoff drought and has now become a critical piece to a team that is looking to punch his ticket to the playoffs for a second straight year and obviously has aspirations beyond that. And not only the playoff drought, but they were playing in varied locations as the Beach Fieldhouse was being renovated. Like those were some tough years for the Indiana Fever. And it’s great to see people recognizing the excellence that Kelsey Mitchell brings to the table. 4640 Indiana in front. Mitchell has 10 points in this quarter. Sabrina, John Quil Jones struggling tonight. Two for 14 combined. Here’s Howard. Two for one opportunity for the Fever. Howard got blocked by Stewart. And then Stewart just got smashed to the court by Natasha Howard, her former teammate. Brandon Stewart plays terrific defense. Just stays straight up and Howard isn’t even looking at Stewie. She’s trying to pursue the basketball. Doesn’t even like, you know, recognize that Stewart is right there and runs right through her. She actually fouled Stewart into a two for one though because with Indiana over the limit, Stewart goes right to the free throw line. I want to go back to that conversation we were having before in a moment, but the WNBA thanks its changemaker partners Ally AT&T, CarMax, Deote, Google, and Nike for their unparalleled support and dedication toward uplifting the league and WNBA players. That was about the changing of the guard and and so many legends who retired recently with with Sue and Diana and Kansas and Maya and Sylvia. And think about it now, if you were going to say, okay, who are those, you know, tenure faces of the league? You know, the first people you’d mention would be Brianna Stewart and Asia Wilson. Alyssa Thomas as well would be in there as a perennial Allstar type, right? But what’s so interesting is we’re not talking about players towards the end of their careers. You know, Stewie’s 30, Asia’s 28. That’s what’s so amazing about this moment for the league and moving forward. Great defensive stop that time by Sabrina hitting the ball off of Indiana, getting New York one more possession. Here comes Stewart. Six seconds to operate. Lost the handle. Mitchell on the steel. Two seconds left. Mitchell at the horn. Can’t get it to go. And that will do it for the first half. Indiana a 4642 lead over New York. Well, Chené, coach, you warned us this Indiana Fever team, even without Caitlyn Clark, is pesky and they are up 4642 over the reigning champ New York Liberty at the break here. And a large piece of this is the play of Kelsey Mitchell. You gave a pep talk and you said you have all of the pieces. If you’re the Indiana Fever Coach, you just have to put them together. And so far, we’ve seen that with her at the helm. Well, Kelsey Mitchell’s taken full advantage of anytime there’s a turnover or a missed shot. She’s pulling the trigger and knocking down the three. She is an automatic bucket. And so a lot of times it’s you break a play to make a play and if you want a player who can do that, Kelsey Mitchell, she’s the one. Kelsey Mitchell is absolutely an allstar. the longest hang tanged member of the Indiana Fever and she’s a silent killer. She is leading their team in scoring uh 19 per game. She’s played in all 23 or so games and like you said, she’s one of those people that are like an analytical coach’s dream coach because she has the handle to get to the rim, but then also she’s lethal from three. So, it’s a beautiful basketball that she’s playing. She leads all scorers with 14 points in this one. On the other side, we’re all excited to see John Cole Jones back on the floor here. She struggled a little bit shooting tonight. Just one of seven from the field tonight. It’s going to take a little bit to get her sea legs back, but you do still see the Jonquell Jones effect. And this was from the jump. This was from the opening tip. Look at this play. She attracted three different players. People vacating the paint. And then what does she do? This is typical JJ. All right, I can’t get to the rim, so I’m just going to knock down a three. But she will need to absolutely be more efficient. We know that this is her first game back, right? She’s 1 for seven, but the big three combined four for 18 with Sabrina and Stewie added to the mix. Anytime a player returns, sometimes it throws off your chemistry for a little bit. I think they’ll make some big adjustments in the second half. Well, I expected more of an impact on the defensive end from John Quill Jones and Aaliyah Boston and Natasha Howard went to work, but also the three-point shooting of New York. That’s what helped them to gain that lead early to make up for what they were not getting from John Quill Jones. Look at the threes from the perimeter. They’re shooting 6 for12, but that was all really in the first quarter. Indiana tightened up their defense in that second quarter and really made that a problem. Yeah. And often times when you get a big player back like JJ and then you have a Brianna Stewart, you want to look at the paint. You want to look at your post players. But Sabrina UNESCO is the one that really needs to keep aggressive and cooking, especially when you’re going up a team against a team that whether you score, you miss, they’re shooting threes. Did you see Lexi Hull in transition not down that transition three? So, like Sabrina has to maintain involvement. But you brought up Lexi Hall. You also have Kelsey Mitchell. They’re they picked up the pressure in that second quarter and took away the three-point shot. You think that’s just a little bit of slow coming out of the All-Star break. John Cole Jones need to put a big player back in the lineup. There’s a whole lot of factors here for the New York Liberty. And by the way, it is still just a four-point game, which sets up for an excellent second half here. You said it. Let her cook. Kelsey Mitchell 14 points here in the first half. Straight face. Look at her. That’s she’s an assassin. She is the killer. This halftime is presented by State Farm. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. This is Abby. By the way, Alicia Gray career year, points, rebounds, assists, but what happens when you take on your college best friend in Asia Wilson? I know it’s tough. Speaking of uh well, former aces member here, watch Kelsey Plum on this play. Wow. She just rolls that right ankle pretty badly there. But the good news is after she goes to the bench, gets things looked at, taped up. As you can see right here, she just checked back into the game. Looks like a scary moment there for a second, especially because Kelsey Plum has been having an excellent Oh, yeah. She has been balling. She’s been the bright spot for the Los Angeles Sparks as you see 20 points per game and almost six. Well, it’s a good thing that the LA Sparks signed Vanloo because that’s another guard, a point guard that can score and we know he’s tough. That’s a dog right there. Exactly. And the plum dog checking back in this game. Oh, I know. I tend to do that. I’m about to do it. The second half though coming up here, the Liberty and the Indiana Fever. The Fever have really been shooting the ball incredibly well in this one. How can the Liberty find their groove here in the second half? Well, I’m looking at Sabrina. She is one for seven from the floor and she’s a gamer. She’s one that I think you can expect to step up in the second half. Two shout outs. the Liberty bench who have 16 points to the Fever three, but then also another shout out. The Fever have five different players with assist. So, they’re moving the ball. They’re connected. You’re asking for a little bit more from Sabrina. Well, we’ve seen it. We saw it in the three-point contest and we’ve seen it in doses here tonight. Could you do a little bit more of that in the second half? It’s coming up from Barclay Center right after this. Look, I deleted Garrett. He’s back. I love playing basketball. Fun game at Barkley Center in Brooklyn to start the second half of the WNBA season. Indiana 4642 lead on the Liberty as we take a look at tonight’s first half stats brought to you by ESPN Bed. Both teams shooting it at 47% from the floor. How about New York with 12 turnovers in that first half. As we welcome you courtside once again, Ryan Rico alongside the Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo. Indiana got outstanding play from Kelsey Mitchell in that first half. Yeah, Kelsey Mitchell is such a tough player to defend because of all the things that she can do on her offensive end of the floor. Has tremendous quickness, can get by most defenders, and was able to hit from three as well in that first half. But you see the distance she creates, which you have to do when you’re going against a shot blocker. Her ability to just step step back and step right into the shot. And the way she jitterbugs, whether it’s coming off screens or with the ball in her hand, she is simply a handful for any defense to try to slow down. All right, right now we chat with New York Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello. Coach, let’s start there. What does your team need to do to slow down Kelsey Mitchell? Yeah, well, we need to meet her earlier. We’re picking her up way too late and she’s uh honestly she’s so crafty and so fast with the ball. We’re letting her get wide open and look here with John her first game back. What What have you like that you’ve seen? Look, I think she’s a big impact for us. We got to get her some more touches obviously in the paint here, but she’s working hard. She’s working hard and obviously she’s not where she is 100%, but she’s a big impact for us with the rebounding and okay, maybe not that play, but we’ll get to the next one. Thank you, Sandy. Perfectly done, Sandy Brondello. Thank you very much. Here’s Brianna Stewart. Twisting, left it short. Good box out from Boston. Here comes Howard. Howard, one of three members of the Fever in double figures. Mitchell and Boston, the others. Good set here. Cunningham. A three is good. Gorgeous possession there from the Fever. Steph White told her team at their shoot around this morning that she thought that they could get spray situations where they get a paint touch off a dribble penetration, suck the Liberty D in, and then get it out for three. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. You get the ball into the paint and then you’re able to spray it out to your shooter in the corner because of the way the New York Liberty helps their defense. I’m glad there was an example. Third foul on Howard. Well, one of the things that Stephanie White talked to us about was her team at times has tended to over penetrate and so wanted to realize, hey, that first spray is open. And that time they did. Five-point fever lead. Three fouls now for Howard. Here’s Boston. Another nice pass from Aaliyah Boston to Mitchell for two. Anytime Aaliyah Boston catches the ball anywhere around the free throw line area. If there’s a back cutter who’s even open for a second, she will find it find them and deliver the pass. Yascu now just one of eight from the floor. Here’s Boston. Off to Cunningham. Howard cheaters baseline gets denied by Jon Jones. Here comes Stewart. Has the angle on Howard and lays it in over New Howard. Had three fouls and took it right to her. That was just grand as Stewart overpowering Natasha Howard with the drive. Those two won a couple of championships together 2018 2020 in Seattle. Mitchell short on that one. Febish the rebound. Here comes UNESCO. Yanescu. What a look inside and Bibish finishes the lay on a beautiful delivery from Sabrina Yanescu. Fifth assist now for Sabrina. You saw Natasha Cloud ghost the screen and then when she did, Feebish just cut so hard to the basket, it was open and the delivery was perfect from Sabrina. You’ll see it here. Ghosting the screen, clearing out the defense and then Feebish just doing a great job. Gets a step on the defender and Sabrina finds her perfectly. Third foul on Feebish. Here’s McDonald who has five assists. Starting at points with Caitlyn Clark out dayto day with a groin injury. Cunningham another three. Her fourth of the game. She’s now 14 for her last 25 from three. Jones with the answer. Second three of the game for John Qu Jones in her return. Boston. Another beautiful look. Mitchell couldn’t quite handle. Out of bounds to New York. Sophie Cunningham has been so good at spreading the floor with her efficiency. Sabrina Yianescu gets caught on the Boston screen and then on the other end inside out. Jono Jones stepping into it. Each team shooting 50% from the floor. Wow. And that is going to be on Mitchell. Kelsey Mitchell picks up the personal. That will be her second rather than number four on Howard. Holly guys, Stephanie White keeps reminding her team in the huddle that New York has been more physical in this game and the refs are allowing it. So you see in this second half they’ve come out much more aggressive. Indiana tearing up their physicality to meet the moment. Thank you very much Al. And that was something Sandy Brondello was expecting from Indiana. Mitchell step back three. She got it. Make it a long two for Kelsey Mitchell. The replay we showed coming out in a half was Kelsey Mitchell with Brianna Stewart defending her. And then we just saw her with Jon Jones defending her, creating the space to get the shot off. Here’s McDonald. McDonald off and it tilts out of bounds. creating space. You have six six and long defending you and Kelsey Mitchell. Get her in, get her off balance. And even with that long reach, John Quell cannot come out to contest. Mitchell with 18 points, seven of 13 shooting. Here’s Cloud. Cloud fires and hits. Cloud just seems to have a little extra confidence, doesn’t she? Since coming back from the All-Star break, the skills challenge champion, a foul here on John Qu Jones. That’ll be her second. Natasha Cloud, we saw it in the first half. Just stepping into a three with confidence this time going the right to left crossover. Cunningham not quite there to contest. Mitchell off on that one. Stewart able to grab the rebound. The first rebound of the game for Brianna Stewart. Here’s Yunescu. Sabrina has it taken away. Howard on the steel got tricky with the handle. Here comes Natasha Howard all the way in and got the foul. How many steps did she take? John Quel Jones whistled for the personal. Immediately wants a review. Great job with the handles by Natasha Howard. She comes in. Was there a third there? I don’t know. Or was it a gather and two? Gather one. That’s three. I think she’s okay. Oh, and but understandably why why John Qu doesn’t think she had a foul there. Yeah. And New York is not going to challenge here. Remember, part of the thinking always isn’t just is it a foul or not, but is this the moment you want to deploy that challenge, right? Imagine if there’s an ESPN sports book app that linked to the differences this season with and without four and six without her. Aaliyah Boston, we’ve seen the incredible chemistry she has with Caitlyn Clark. Kelsey Mitchell. You see the numbers that she has put up in those games without Caitlyn. But as of now, you don’t know exactly when you’re getting Caitlyn back. Still officially listed as dayto day as a plan of action for Caitlyn’s return to play and rehab process comes to fruition here. But you’re talking about someone who has the ball in her hands 90% of the time, who’s the best playmaker in the league. navigating without that, it’s about as dramatic a loss as you could have as a team. And Indiana so far tonight, Rebecca, they’ve been able to be scrappy on the defensive end and and find enough fluidity offensively to be up four right now. This what a week and a half ago that we called the Indiana game against Dallas. And it looked like they had really come together and figured out how to play extraordinarily well with Caitlyn on the floor and also in her minutes without her on the floor. It felt like there was a synergy there. the best it had been all season long. And then of course the game after that is when she has the injury reagravated against the Connecticut Sun. But it’s been a challenge for Steph White all season with the variety of players who have been in and out for a variety of reasons. As you said, she’s used to dealing with it in pockets, but never in one big avalanche like she has this year between those injuries that want to Bonner as Jones puts it in plus the foul. And New York a rare opportunity off the offensive glass. Jones a chance for three. She’s just not giving up her real estate. Look at her here. She’s just planted like Aaliyah Boston. Good luck trying to move Jon Jones off that spot. She got the wide base and she was not about to budge. 12 points, seven rebounds. Make it 13 points for John Quel Jones. Here’s Mitchell finding Boston. Little hesitation. Back to Mitchell. Eight to shoot. Mitchell working. Cloud. Mitchell trying to escape. Cloud could not. Had some terrific defense as Kelsey Mitchell stepped out of bounds. We talked in the first half how tough it is to keep Kelsey Mitchell in front of you. Well, Natasha Cloud, one of the best perimeter defenders in the W. Just look at her move her feet. Move her feet. Just outstanding. Outstanding job. Well, it’s why when she is not on an alldefensive team and you talk to her peers, they’re always astonished because they’ll tell you how difficult it is to go up against Natasha Cloud. When she’s not in an on an alldefensive team, I want to talk to my peers and ask them why they didn’t vote for her. Although, do we vote for that? We do now, right? Yeah, we have the all defensive. But there were years where we didn’t, right? Here’s Mitchell alone. Connects on a three. 21 for Kelsey Mitchell. Good close out there from Lexi Hall getting to Burke and an offensive foul will be called on Kennedy Burke. I mean Kelsey Mitchell has shown her entire offensive package here today and again the jitterbone nature just stepping into three and a lot of times she’s getting those looks. Holly, we had a beautiful conversation with Kelsey Mitchell earlier today and she was emotional talking about how hard it was to lose her father last year before the season started and it was shocking but midway through last season her mom was also diagnosed with multiple myyoma and she said I’ve been dealing with grief every day for the last 18 months and it’s heavy but my peace is on the basketball court and you see her out here playing with joy finding her peace her mom is doing well although she’s still in treatment Kelsey said having her family come to the All-Star game last weekend was just so huge knowing that she has still one healthy parent there for her. But God, I love that she opened up to us, Rebecca, and just so emotional about the grief she’s dealing with and how basketball is helping her process that. Yeah, beautifully told, Holly, and Kelsey is just one of the most delightful people you will talk to in this league. I’m glad that this court has been able to be a place of peace for her during some really difficult times. 305 to go in the third and a kick ball will keep things here. But both teams, and you might expect this after, you know, a very brief all-star break. Both teams have turned it over quite a bit tonight. New York already with 15 turnovers. Indiana with 13. Here’s Coulson back it off. Boston battling for the offensive rebound and able to work a whistle. One of the players said to us this morning, “Do not call it an all-star break. It was an All-Star weekend.” Yeah, there was no break. artillery number. I bet you you felt that way as well. It was a little bit of a break for us. Here’s Coulson to the corner. Catch fire and hit for Lexi Hall. Again, as Steph White told her team, this is going to be there today because of the way the New York Liberty comes in to play their defense on the help side. The paint and spray. Here’s Izzy Harrison looking for an angle. Boston just took it away and a jump ball with Harrison and Boston. Just want to get a drive and kick some dribble penetration and see see Sydney Coulson get a step in the paint. Defense comes to help and Hull right there to knock it down. Here comes Indiana. Hull accelerates and gets the foul against Stewart. Lexi Hull is going to go to the line to shoot a pair. Our next ABC WNBA game Sunday afternoon 3 Eastern. The Fever take on the Chicago Sky. It’s now time to look at what fans have been searching for, brought to you by Google. Well, searches for WNBA Allstar Friday spiked 850% in the US over the weekend. And we know Sabrina Yanescu delivered another memorable performance on Allstar Friday, claiming her second three-point contest. Hit 11 threes in a row during this stretch in her final round. It’s just incredible to watch. And join Ally Criggley is only the second multi-time winner of the contest. Tonight has been a different story for Sabrina. Just one of nine from the floor has been on the bench for a while in 21 minutes. But you also wonder about, you know, certain allstars like Sabrina who competed Friday night and Saturday. Is there just some fatigue turning around and trying to play on Tuesday? Yeah, certainly. It’s a tough turnaround for any player who was there participating. Been a lot of physicality the last possession in the lane. McDonald throws it away. Stewart on a steel. Indiana scoreless the last four and a half minutes. And a foul here on the interior against Boston trying to bang with John Quo Jones. That’ll be number four on Aaliyah Boston. number seven. Johannes flips it out. Stewart into the corner. Jones side of the backboard didn’t get that. Rebecca Lobo Bank. Here’s Hull. And a whistle against New York. It’s fair. You call it on one end against Aaliyah Boston. The contact that’s in the paint and then you call it on the other end as well. I mentioned the previous possession. It got really physical. Oh my goodness. It’s clear foul. John Wells got her long arms wrapped right around Leah Boston’s bicep. You know, as Sabrina checks back in now, I mean, that’s one thing that you talk to different coaches, players around the league, they will tell you that the physicality of the league is certainly not exclusive to any one player or one team with what is allowed. It’s been this way for quite some time. McDonald can’t finish it. Here comes Burke off the rebound. We’ve seen that kind of physicality with John Lee in the paint tonight as Howard comes over for the rejection. Boston able to save it. Here’s Howard cutting through and a foul is called on New York. It’ll send Howard to the line. Terrific defense on the last possession by the Indiana Fever. And just Kenny Burn trying to power her way to the basket. Howard comes over, gets the clean block. Tiptoe by Eli Boston to save the possession. Howard four for four from the line thus far tonight. Indiana yet to score in the fourth. Now they have. And one thing Stephanie White told us earlier in the game that has remained true throughout it is she’s like the responses and the grit from her team when New York has gone on a run. Does Indiana have another response now? Howard misses that free throw. Stewart 14 points, four assists, three boards. John Quo Jones 15 points, eight rebounds, and her return. Here’s Stewart isolating against Howard. Stewart able to finish, plus the foul and a chance for three for Brianna Stewart. Brandon Stewart initiates the offense and then once she passes the ball she’s going to cut off a screen just pass here gets the screen from Sabrina gets bumped and then just continues to play posts up at the free throw line area and then a beautiful move to finish but that all started with her initiating big second half from Brianna Stewart efficient as Well, over five minutes without a field goal for Indiana. Certainly want Kelsey Mitchell to have a touch here. Mitchell fighting through. Mitchell able to hit after Boston laid a huge lick on Sabrina. Big time screen. Most of Mitchell’s open looks have come from an Ali Boston screen. Bish twisting can’t hit. Boston fingertips the rebound. This is something Aaliyah Boston has done a lot this season. Initiating the offense, bringing it up the floor twice as many already than she had a season ago. Howard can hit the three. Knocks it over to Ho who can’t finish the layup. Hall now two of eight. from the floor. Yanescu on the drive. No look. Jones a three. You pick. What tune is she playing on that guitar right now? Ryan Rico, a sweet return. 18 points for John Quell Jones. Nine rebounds after a nineame absence. This is Ted. Ted was born in 1998, the year of the first Google search. And as a teenager, whatever Ted was looking for, Google helped him find it. James music video. And so it went year after year. There was always some new question on his mind. Tad is 26 now. His life isn’t so simple. Fortunately, Google still is. Why is this not working? Oh, even when his questions are a lot of questions in one. What’s something cool happening tonight in the city and still gets me home at a reasonable time? Whoa. which is how Ted found something he didn’t even know he was looking for. Turns out I’m Ted. Mike’s full of questions. Luckily, you can just ask Google. See, I made this one crooked. This moment story time for Sarah. Our team helped make it happen. At Evernorth Specialty Services, we make complex healthcare journeys simpler with comprehensive care. Now Sarah’s grandma doesn’t spend all day at the infusion center. She gets her treatment at home with Evernorth’s specialty pharmacy, Aredo. She trusts us because every moment counts. The WNBA trusts its health to Evernorth Health Services. This is Judy and Pedro. They just bought their first home and are learning a lot. Thanks to Google, Pedro knows more than he wanted to about gravel. And Judy wouldn’t call herself a plumber, but she dabbles. Wait, how do these things work together? Honey, I did it. So far, if they’ve learned one thing about home ownership, it’s that there’s a lot to learn. Good thing you can just ask Google. I’m going to love you, baby, with all my mind. Love you, baby. Love you. I’m going to love you, baby. Well, John Quel Jones is back and making a huge impact. The New York Liberty started the game drawing a play for Jones to touch it inside and said she touched it out and drained the three. It’s been one of multiple threes she’s been able to hit today. Has also established her presence inside. This was the deep one she just hit. Came down playing a tune. Looks like maybe the guitar or ukulele. Which one do you think? I think a ukulele. More on JJ. Well, what I know is she’s making sweet music on the floor. That’s for sure. She said when she was sitting out, it really made her think about her impact on this team. It was hard to watch them go through these tough stretches, lose games without her. She said, “I realized my impact isn’t always stats. It’s rebounding. It’s one-on-one defense. It’s energy and setting the tone.” And she said, “My goal coming back was to get my team back to how we were playing to start the season. We were hungry starting out the season 9 and0. And you have seen that hunger, that intensity, and that impact she realizes she has on her team tonight.” You know what it reminds me of how when Camila Cardoso was a senior, Don Staley used to call her South Carolina’s separator. They had a great team, right? They had a lot of talent, but felt like she was their separator. That’s the way it feels for New York and John Quel Jones. They’re great. They could contend for a championship, but John Quel Jones is their separator. Yeah. She’s just different in what she brings to the floor. for her sheer size and ability to hit from the perimeter as well. And there were games throughout her absence and especially when they’d be struggling on the glass or to establish an inside presence where I was just watching thinking this is a perfect example of the new liberty just missing JJ. Here’s Yanescu pull up jumper. Got that one. Points over at John Paul Jones because JJ is the one who set the screen for her there. had been one for nine before that make seven assists for UNESCO. Indiana’s really struggled to score here in this second half as Boston able to twist that one in off the window plus the foul. Sabrina UNESCO hitting that last shot and she gets a terrific screen from John Paul Jones first. Just dribbling the ball up the floor. JJ stops, turns, gives Sabrina just enough space and what do you do? You point at your teammate, let them know how much you appreciate what they just did. And that’s one of those plays, Holly Bro. That’s one of those plays where JJ makes a difference without it being recognized on the box floor. Jones going to check out right now after picking up her fifth as Boston completes the three-point play. Another double double for Aaliyah Boston, who also has six assists. Here’s Cloud. Harrison hits the deck. Remember, no Nara Sabi in this game from the Liberty lays it in off a beautiful delivery from Stewart. 10-point New York lead. Sabrina read that the defense beautifully and how they were fighting over the screen just curled right to the basket. Mitchell off to Boston. Active defense here from New York and Febish knocks it out of bounds. Just watch how Sabrina reads the defense. She passes to Stewie. She sees that McDonald is going over. So it just goes right around perfectly read Aaliyah Boston there just a second too late. So after starting one of nine two straight makes from Yanescu and Boston flying to the floor. Sabrina fired up after taking the offensive foul. Yeah, it’s just because of the left elbow. She extends the left elbow just enough for it to be called a foul. UNESCO will fire and coach play on the back her way by as Mitchell gets fouled while Sabrini Onesu came back in off the bench and after starting one of nine has hit her last three shots and just getting things done. And the ball fake. Makes the shot goes by Steph. I don’t know if she got her or missed her. What exactly she was saying right there with the tap of the hand. I’m not sure. That might be a postgame question for Sabrina who has the last seven Liberty points at the end. A little I don’t know if she made contact. I think there was no ill intent. No, no, I wasn’t suggesting that. No, no, no. I know you weren’t. Okay. I think Long Tap was right. Oh, great look. Stewart couldn’t quite handle it. Still time for Indiana to make a push, but not with passes like that. Cloud off the steel. Yescu, you bet. I do what you said. And she has been on fire. Fired up. Four straight from Sabrina. Some physical defense as well since she’s come back in. And Rebecca, I imagine as an athlete that has to give you different level of of a joke than even when you’re just in the zone all game long, when you have everything firing on all cylinders. When you have really struggled and then you come back into a game and find it at a time when your team needs it to lock down a win, there’s a couple factors. One, she struggled. Two, she was on the bench for for a significant amount of time. And when she first came back in, there was a lot of physical play with her, you know, getting knocked around a little bit on the defensive end. And then she responds play after play after play like this. Yes. Absolutely incredibly gratifying. Sabrina UNESCO up to 13 points, seven assists at the last 10 points for New York. And the Liberty have separated here. A 14-point lead with 351 to go. And again, obviously, you know, if you’re Indiana, you miss Caitlyn Clark in a million ways, but these long periods of time like we’ve seen in the second half where it’s been so tough for them to generate good shots. And that’s an obvious area where you miss the player who has the most gravity of any offensive weapon in the league. Yeah, without question. Kelsey Mitchell though, who just put the New York Liberty in defense in a spin cycle as she did the full 360 to get her shot off. 27 for her. Onescu. One more. Not that time. McDonald flags it down. You still have 320 to go. Indiana with time to make a push. Cunningham. UNESCO in some pain after that. Knocked out of bounds. Scream by Leia Boston that Sabrina ran into. And they call this fever basketball, but the Liberty players just saying No, no, no, no, no, no. That should be New York basketball and it will be challenged by the Liberty. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that many members of a team doing the twirly bird finger at once, telling their coach to review it. You know, I think I’ve seen that many, but with that level of conviction, right now it is Indiana’s ball. We’ll just count. I can’t say I’m consistently counting fingers, but I feel like I’ve seen full benches yet. See, let’s see the screen first. I mean, that probably should have been follow Boston. That’s a tough angle to tell. I don’t know if Bish touched it or not, but what I really want to see is all of the twirly birds. The finger swirling. Yeah, the finger swirls. Well, ask and you shall receive. I know with our truck I always do. So, you’re going to get Cloud Stewie and then watch the bench sees it and then everybody like, “Yeah, what do we get? Four or five.” Feebish doesn’t do it because internationals tend not to, you know. Four or five. Four or five. You want to avenge your original statement though? You’ve seen that many fingers twirling on a review like no. Four of the five players on the floor. I don’t think I have. Ryan, you’re like my husband telling me what I’ve seen. I’m saying I don’t think I have. I think all we like to do is keep you on track. It’s just It’s a love. Everybody needs a fact checker. That’s that is true. Some people more than others. Oh, I think we should also look at the out of bounds. See? Oh, it hits. Yeah, it hits Kelsey Mitchell’s right hand. That’s why it’s going to be New York basketball. So, hits, but then going right off of like almost her elbow. Yeah. Or the forearm. Definitely right. Oh yeah, it’s going to be New York basketball. They’ll make sure they have the clock right as well. Yeah. I mean, did Spike twirl his finger, too? Might have. He was right there. Remember Spike last year during the finals when he was literally sitting on the floor? He was so nervous during the free throws being shot by Brianna Stewart. Yes. Injected New York right into Sabrina’s veins. He did love the Brooklyn Dodgers hat that Spike is rocking. While we’re waiting for this review, I guess, right? Let me just ask you about Indiana. What’s going to be key for them in navigating this period? The call will be overturned. New York will retain their second challenge. The ball is retouched by Kelsey Mitchell. The ball is out of bounds. It will now be New York’s ball. I think it’s Eric. I think it’s going to start on the defensive end. And Stephw White continues to talk about how they have to have the consistency on the defensive end of the floor because to me, the Indiana Fever without Caitlyn Clark are a playoff caliber team. With Caitlyn Clark, I think they can contend for a championship. And that might be a lofty goal this year because of course Caitlin hasn’t been healthy for a prolonged period of time. But you know for them if they can get to a place where they’re solidly in playoff position and then reaffensive end every night and we don’t know exactly how long Caitlyn will be out for. Was meeting with specialists today and they were forming a plan as of now still listed as dayto day as McDonald unable to hit the three. for four from downtown. Now here comes Junescu. One-on-one with Mitchell. The euro. The floater is short. So a steal by Indiana. Then with another good stop. So again, defensive end. Mitchell. Cuffs it up and in. Kelsey Mitchell. A professional bucket. 29 for the three-time Allstar. Here’s Harrison. Nice little patience there from Izzy Harrison. again. She has looked really, really good today. Exactly what you need off the bench. Eighth assist for Yonescu. Here’s McDonald kicking it out. Hull cutting through and knocked out of bounds. Some really good D from Sabrina since coming back into this game. You see the great pace and the stop here. So Harrison screen, roll catch, sees Mitchell coming over and just a little head fake and then the makes the finish easy, but it was all about the fake first. Boston turning able to hook it in and beat the shot clock. 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists for Aaliyah Boston. A reminder up next, it’s Atlanta and Vegas here on ESPN. Another tough bucket. Push the foul. That was a great keep by Izzy Harrison. She fakes the hand off to Sabrina Yanesco. Yeah, she wants the crowd into it because that was a beautiful play. Fakes the hand off to Sabrina. Aaliyah Boston bites for a second and then just turns and drives to the basket. Really well executed. Harrison with 10 points in 16 minutes off the bench. It’s pretty efficient. Yeah, five for five, I’d say. So, that was also the sixth foul on Aaliyah Boston who has fouled out. 140 to go in this fourth. Whoa. Some of the screens in this game. My goodness. into the front row. Avoided spillage. New York. Oh, we got some spillage on the floor though. New York has outscored Indiana 25-4 in this fourth. And that’s an extension of what happened at the end of the third when they finished the quarter on a 9-0 run. It’s an extended 34 to4 stretch. Here’s UNESCO lost. 20th turnover for New York. Cunningham fires away and knocks it down. Silky Cunningham stays piping hot from three-point range. Her fifth three of the game and a timeout taken by New York. 10-point game with 110 to go. We talked about the struggles from Sabrina Onesco early on, but after a long period of time on the bench, she has been terrific in this court. Yeah, just brought incredible energy. Scored those 10 straight coming off a John Quo Jones screen for the pull up and then a beautiful cut to get inside. Brana Stewart finds her in there. Stepping back, little fake stepping into the three as well. You could just feel her energy after going on that 100 solo run. You and I have talked about it over the course of her career how she engages and gets the crowd really involved when she is performing well. She has them on a string. Yeah. And this building always responds to her, especially those deep threes. Sabrini ones with 13 points, nine assists. A big fourth quarter. John Qu Jones Jones, her first game back. 18 points, nine boards, 17 apiece for Brianna Stewart and Leon Feish. Natasha Cloud, eight points, four assists on three of five shooting. Indiana’s gotten a monster performance from Kelsey Mitchell with 29. Aaliyah Boston, another double double. 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists. Sophie Cunningham five of eight for three, 15 points, but it’s a 10-point New York lead. 111 to go. Boston, you saw on the bench after fouling out. And you can see Stephanie White yelling foul, foul, foul. Wanted to put Izzy Harrison at the line here with New York in the bonus. And Izzy a 75% career free throw shooter. You know, the one thing we didn’t talk about in regard to Sabrina, see, she was on Fallon last night, gifted a pair of her Sabrina threes to Adam Sandler, who then wore them out in his appearance on Fallon. Awesome. Yeah. Such good looking shoes. Yeah. Know, Sabrina has batted a thousand on her shoes. Yeah, Duncus off on the three and final minute here as Cunningham will foul Cloud with 58.1 to go in the fourth. New York 52% from the floor, 54% from three, 25 assists. The Liberty get John Quo Jones back and they will move to 8 and 0 when they have their starting five intact. I want to remind people too, Rebecca, we have not seen the Liberty and the Lynx play yet this year. A rematch of that epic finals a season to go. We will see that Wednesday of next week, July 30th on ESPN. can’t wait any excuse to get back to Minnesota, but especially for that game. Amen. Vanescu the rebound trapped in the back court and a timeout taken by Sandy Brondello and or she just going to use the reset. Use the reset. Izzy Harrison a season high 13 points tonight off the bench for New York in a game there with Alarabi. You don’t often see the reset but not advanced. Yeah, how about that? Strategic and interesting see about Harrison unable to finish that one about as frequently as the four of five birds. Cole can’t finish it and that’ll do it. Shot clock turned off. Crow rises to its feet. John Quell Jones. Reason to dance in her return. A big hug between Sandy Brondello and Stephanie White as Spike applauds. Caitlyn Clark just a spectator tonight as the Liberty take down the fever. 9884 the final for our producer Ian Grar, our director Adam Bryant, the Hall of Famers Rebecca Lobo and Holly Row. I’m Ryan Rico. Thanks for watching. As we say so long for Brooklyn, let’s send it to Atlanta now against Las Vegas with Pam Ward, Lechina, and Brooke. Want to welcome those of you who just saw New York beat Indiana 98- 84 just underway here in Vegas between the dream and the aces Robinson and Wisero joining you the first time these two teams have met this season. Becky Hammond’s team just 11 and 11 on the year but she told us that they are the scariest 500 team ever. She really believes that they can get things going. Yeah, they won their last two games before the All-Star break to get them to 500. And they are starting to play much better on the offensive end. The defensive end is where she feels like the concerns have been for majority of this season, but they’re starting to gel. Young attacking. Alicia Gray coming up with the rebound. Career highs in every major statistical category. Pass trying to get Bones knocked away by Melissa Smith. And Las Vegas really wants to focus their defense on the interior with Brie Jones and Britney Grryer. That is a handful. Lloyd after a slow starting to come around a little bit. Brittney Grryer stopped Young in her tracks that left Melissa Smith open for a three. Melissa Smith starting to get comfortable with her new team. Becky Hmon said she just has to continue to learn the scheme. She loves her as a screener. Obviously, she is a force on the glass as well. Loves her rebounding ability as you mentioned. And that is a three that rolls in. Alicia Gray shooting the three with so much confidence this season. Multiple games with five three-pointers. Jackie Young slicing inside to get the paint points. They second fewest paint points on average in the league, even though Asia Wilson individually leads in that category. Canada got a good look and nailed it. Really good ball movement. And right there, that is that describes Atlanta’s offense. They want to stretch the floor with a three-pointer. They’re going to get about 30 threes up a game. That is cost meco system, but they also have the inside intimidation of Brie Jones and Grinder. And what a combination. Jones coming over in the offseason as a free agent from Connecticut. Chelsea Gray with the miss. And Brady Grryer can still do that just as well as anyone in this league. Intimidate you defensively right at the rim. And that’s what she did against Chelsea Gray. This is excellent ball movement here by Atlanta. Britney Grinder didn’t get it on the screen, but because she dived hard to the bucket, the defense had to respect it. That opens up the three for Canada. Paul Seesco in his first year coming over from Florida GF Coast where he did such a great job with that program in Fort Myers, Florida. Jackie Young. Jackie so good going downhill and you see how she kept the defense on her back coming off that ball screen. Riner had to stretch for it. DG 35 in October. Bree Jones gives him a second chance. Atlanta’s excellent on the glass. They are third in both offensive and defensive rebound percentage. More ball movement but Gray a little bit wide right. Another offensive board this time by Caldwell. Bring it home. Yeah, Atlanta is third in the league in second chance points with 12 per game. And like I mentioned, they’re third in both offensive rebound percentage and defensive. So, you have to box them out and keep them off the glass.
