We have multiple very interesting updates for this Toronto Raptors team as there has been a lot of anticipation about who’s going to be the next president of basketball operations for this team. But while we wait for that, we do have some updates in terms of what the next roster move could be. So, we’ll discuss that, including a Wild Kawawaii update in his tenure with the Raptors, as well as multiple league executives voicing their opinions about the steals, the fumbles of the NBA draft, and some very split takes in regards to Colin Murray Boils, and how the Charlotte Raptors ended up drafting him number nine overall. So, lots of stuff to really dive into out here in this video. Before we do, folks, again, I appreciate everyone’s been supporting. It’s been simmering down in terms of Raptors news as of late as we wait for any piece of info and who’s the next B what president of basketball operations is going to be. But we’re going to still keep you up to date on everything going on with this team here. So, if you don’t want to miss a single thing and you’re a part of the over 53% of our viewers that have not hit the subscribe button just yet, make sure you guys hit that sub button so you miss a single thing. It’s free. You hit the button down below and then you won’t miss a single thing going on with this Raptors team. But let’s dive into it because we have a lot of updates to discuss out here in this video. The first one is a is a fun one coming from, you know, for Raptors growth. You know, former Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry as he came out and revealed some wild details on Kawawaii Leonard’s tenure with the Toronto Raptors because Kawhai of course is a guy that was the spearhead. He was the top dog. He was the 1A option on this team that won us an NBA championship. I’m appreciative of Kawawaii. I’m a fan of Kawaii for the rest of my life. He brought me my first championship in my favorite basketball team. Like there’s I don’t care how he left. I don’t care what he says, what he does, whatever. Kawhai did that. So, I’m always appreciative. I’m always going to be grateful of Kawhai. I’m always going to be a fan of Kawhi Leonard. No matter what anyone says, you know, in terms of how he left, all that type of stuff. But, well, myself, I’m sure a big portion of the fan base still love Kawhai. There are some people in this Raptors team that were not big fans of Kawhi Leonard. as basically news came out from Kyle Lowry say that Kawhai rubbed people the wrong way because of how he operates. He’s like, “Yo, give me the ball. I’m going to get it done.” You might be like, “Oh, Kawhai, I’m open.” But he’s like, “I’m going to get this bucket.” And you understand he’s the best player. The big dog got to eat. So, that was a very interesting quote there from Kyle Larry. Of course, we saw all the quotes about Kawawaii the Ste. The funny one was Nick Nurse saying, “Hey, in NBA Finals, you know, we got to swing the ball a little bit. Get some ball.” Moon Kai’s like, “No, just give me the rock. just give me the ball and I’ll be able to take over. And that’s what he was able to do night in night out. Of course, the Raptors had a very, very talented, deep roster on that team. It wasn’t Kawhai’s the only reason on that squad, especially the back half of that Milwaukee Bucks series. And, you know, certainly during the NBA Finals, it was not just Kawhi Leonard. So, I get why if you’re on a championship team, you got a lot of big personalities that people might be frustrated by a guy that certainly uh wanted the ball in his hands, wanted to be the dominant player, wanted to be that alpha dog. But when you’re Kawhi Leonard, when you are as strong as a player as he was that season, say what you want about him now, the Clippers and stuff dealing with injuries when he’s out there on the court, he’s always phenomenal when he’s the Raptors, Clippers and his late tenure with the San Antonio Spurs. Do not get me wrong, but when he was on that Raptors team, when he was at peak performance, peak powers with that group, you you got to let the big dog eat as Kyle Lowry kind of said. So, it’s interesting to see that rub people the wrong way. Of course, he had the whole, “Hey, am I going to leave? Am I going to stay? I’m going to do whatever out there for that entire season. So, that’s something that also I’m sure played a factor as well. But, you know, it’s interesting to see people talk about Kawi letter. I’m excited to hear a book or something, read a book out there 10, 20 years from now about Kawhi Leonard, that whole Spurs situation, Raptor situation, and just learn about what really went on behind the scenes with that group. So, you know, fun era Raptors basketball. Always like my uh the little nuggets that come out from that era of Toronto Raptors play. That’s not the only thing we’re discussing in this video as we have NBA executives being split on the Colin Murray Boils uh selection for this Raptors group. Now, Murray Boils of course impressed a lot of people with his summer league performance with what he was able to do for the Raptors out there over the course of summer league. The final game wasn’t too great, but mostly showed really impeccable defense, really focused, intent, just hustle basketball out there on the court and showed a lot of polish out there on the offensive end. I think a lot of people were maybe surprised, especially the doubters on Culary Boils about how good he was out there in summer league, but NBA executives were talking about, hey, what were the biggest reaches? What were the biggest fumbles out there in this draft? Who are the biggest steals? And we heard some mixed reviews out there on CMBB. So, if you look at their biggest draft seal, you see Carter Bryant as the top dog for the number 14th overall selection. You have Baron, who is a guy that uh you know is a center for the Minnesota Timberwolves getting the most. and then uh Yakonis who was someone that was projecting the mock drafts to go in the top 10. He ended up falling to the Miami Heat at the number 20th overall selection. So they were the top names, but you see Colin Murray Boils also ended up getting a vote as the biggest draft steel. So no one could senses, hey, this was a robbery for the Toronto Raptors, but you know, you get a vote at least, which is a vote of confidence from one NBA executive. And then also on top of it, who is the biggest draft reach? So who did you pick too high to select that? And of course, Dem the the Dem, the pick both for the Toronto Raptors, Yang Hansen, and who had a solid summer league as well as Cedric Coward. All guys that got some votes. Murray Boils was also in this uh selection. So, NBA executives are split right now in terms of how they’re viewing the Murray Boils draft selection. So, even though he had a strong summer league, you’re getting very much mixed reviews from the guys that dealing with this whole, you know, talent evaluation stuff day in day out. And the Raptors were ranked very mid in terms of the best young cores out there on the team. So they only list about 14, you know, with uh players that are rebuilding or trying to get back in the mix. And we were ranked number ninth in terms of the most likely to make the playoffs. And essentially whether or not it’s working, ESPN came out and said the Raptors have done a lot of work over the past two years seemingly to wind up with a similar or lower uh ceiling than one it had before moving for moving away from the core of that 2019 championship squad. Uh things were thrown into another level of uncertainty when Messiah Jerry, the architect of the franchise’s only title, was out one day after the NBA draft. And essentially their estimate return to relevance is if Toronto does not make the playoffs this season, it will be seen as a huge disappointment. Whether this team can truly become a contender again in the Eastern Conference, however, will depend on a lot of factors, including the growth of guys like Scotty Barnes, Emanuel Quickley, Brandon Ingram, all these dudes. So I and you know, say what you want about that. Is it working? The estimated return to relevance. That part I completely agree with. If the Toronto Raptors do not make the playoffs, if this team, you know, is constructing the roster as is, putting things together in order to, you know, have all these competitive guys mixed with this young core group, they are trying to be competitive right now. This roster is expensive. And frankly, we have a team with a lot of talent on it. You know, IQ, RJ Barrett, Scotty Barnes, Brandon Ingram, Yaka Burle, all dudes that really uh are are upper echelon guys, especially top four. We’ll see Emanuel quickly now. how if he could prove that out there on this team, but you know, the the two, three, four, five are players that you can make arguments for and it’s hot debated arguments, you know, whether or not they’re top 15 guys at their positions. And you know, the Raptors are four dudes like that and I’d arguably say one of the better benches in the NBA with Jamal Shed, Grady Dick, Oo, Chai, Murray Boils, and the center position is something we’ll take a look at, but Mamu Kelli could uh Shamsh really step up in that area. That’s something to look at. And then, you know, you go layer deep. I think we definitely the best third stringers, you know, with Heer with what he was able to show out there at Subway League, but Jacobe Walter, Jameson Battle, Jonathan Mo, AJ Lawson, Elijah Martin, all these guys, right? There are a lot of impressive players out there on this group. So, if they don’t make the playoffs this year, it would certainly be viewed to me as a disappointment. It would be viewed to the Toronto Raptors fan base as a disappointment. And, you know, it will make sense to pay all these guys all this exorbitant amount of money if they didn’t make it. So, I tend to agree with that out there on that selection. So, let me know what you guys agree with this uh statement from ESPN. And the final thing we’re taking a look at is a new Raptors Ben Simmons update. Now, we’ve been hearing the rumblings about Ben Simmons for years now at this point in terms of hey, Ben Simmons, you know, I have the the graphic, the animation, the young socialite watch, if I can bring that up. You know, the old the old young socialite, he’s been tied and linked to the Toronto Raptors for years back to his Philadelphia days. So, uh, essentially you have all this stuff going. Ben Simmons once again being out there as a free agent. He we were linked to him earlier in the offseason, but you know, as if we go back to this depth chart, if we go back to here, doesn’t seem like there’s a clear fit for Ben Simmons out there on this team. Well, the odds say otherwise, and it’s not high odds by any stretch of the imagination, but the Raptors are among the favorites to land Ben Simmons. plus 950. So, not super likely, but on that list, at least in terms of destinations for Ben Simmons and being linked. Now, the way this happens, the only world this actually goes down is essentially we know Bobby Webster likes these type of, you know, defensive first players and stuff. The Raptors front office is like that for a very, very long time. Selecting Murray Boils is another indication that that philosophy at least has not changed. But the Raptors are pretty, you know, set in terms of their roster construction here now for the moment. where this would work, where this would happen is the Raptors getting a new president of basketball operations or getting locked in, you know, with Bobby Webster or someone and them really taking control, taking the reigns, making some trades, making some moves, and then stamping their mark out there on this team, out there on the roster and trying to sign these free agents. So, that’s the avenue I see it happening. If it’s Bobby Webster stepping, I don’t think that’s going to be the case, but we’ll see how should things shake out here now at this front. You guys take this far. Subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already. We’ll keep you up to date on everything that’s going on. I’m excited to finally hear what’s going on with the next president of basketball as operations, but we’ll see how that plays out. Anyways, I’m signing now.
The Toronto Raptors are in an interesting position, waiting for their next president of basketball operations; however, there is still news coming out about the team, and Ben Rogers breaks it down.

Ayeeee
Please for the love of God let Webster be the President of Basketball Operations.. unless he prides himself on being Robin to Batman.. in certain situations I understand that. Working with certain people I find they bring me along because I get the best out of them, other situations.. step aside I'm Batman lol.
Kawhi demanding the ball is not surprising, he's the big dog on the team at the time. If we make playoffs this year, it'll be BI doing the same and I'd expect it. I'm the center of the offense, give me my touch and trust I'll make the right decision.
I’ll never forget when Kawhi told NN “I’m not passing the ball just to pass the ball” 😂😂😂
That’s when I knew it wasn’t so much about NN but how stacked our team was.
Kawhi for Team President
Only "experts" who think CMB can't shot are the dummee's who think that only 3 pt shooting matters. The man is a Forward shooting 60% from the field, like WTF? It's like in Baseball all you see are HR's, if they don't hit HR's they suck – CMB comes along not much on the HR's but has gap power, high on base% and average, low strike-outs and knocked in 150 RBI's (which is great), strong defense playing multiple positions BUT you don't care because he doesn't hit HR's. My two picks were CMB & Jas-Kas (went to Miami) what a steal at 20 – both will be ballers!
When asked after beating the Dubs in SL about winning the SL Championship, this is how CMB responded (paraphrasing) "I'm just trying to win games, ain't thinking about no damn championships" – he already sounds like Draymond … and Khawi … that answer alone shows you he will be a leader. If he gave me an answer like that pre-draft, it alone would move him up my scouting ranks.
I've been saying for months now that Bol Bol and Ben Simmons would excel in the Raps tempo of play. / I would give Simmons a two year backended contract with a team option for second year
YESSSSSSIR! Young Socialite Watch! Raptors still have a chance, bottom of the barrel chance but still a chance to realize the dream to say "FINALLY… The Young Socialite has COME BACK TO… Torontooooooooooohhhhhhh…!"
Other than that meh. CMB great fit team and culture wise. Happy with him at 9th.
Simmons as our backup 5 would be great
Passing on Carter might be a forever haunt..
💩 Please NO Ben Simmons…hes bad for team culture and morale. We dont need this BUM…
The thing with Kawhi, why would that surprised you? I thought it was already well known…..Kawhi did rubbed people the wrong way, after all, these guys are alpha dog athlete themselves. It was Lowry who quieted them down and kept the room in check. Kawhi was the Superstar but Kyle was the leader of that locker room. Without Kyle, there would have been turmoil in that locker room……
Based on the $ 7 seed first playin win and must go 6 plus with 2nd seed is the floor anything less sucks. Until we trade OA or RJB for draft capital or exchange I don’t want to discuss add ons. We need to get under tax before season so we don’t get Fracked in Jan to trade deadline. Even is we run 14 plus 2ways so be it. This is the price for over payments to BI and IQ.
Half these GM’s never won a goddamn thing, so who gives a mother F what they’ve got to say.
Might have been the big dog but 30 is 30. Never would have won without pascal and fred and defense of mark and serge. Team effort
Remember we did not have OG. His appendix thing. He would have broken those ankles way sooner.
What’s with our fans and the love for Ben Simmons 🤷♂️ Australian fans are probably wondering why this fan base love Ben Simmons so much. I swear if we sign Ben Simmons he’s going to be treated like a superstar in this city.
CMB I'm calling it now. He will be better than Barnes
Barrett and Quickly were also under a month ago
Ben Simmons , NO, NO, NO ! We don't need him on this team, he doesn't fit the culture or the work ethic. Bad back , do you want me to go on. NO, NO, NO !!
