Things just took a SHOCKING turn…
Things just took a shocking turn for the Boston Celtics as a brand new report has dropped surrounding one player that has fans fired up as Brad Stevens offseason plans and his next move has been revealed. We’re going to break that down as well as discuss a very encouraging Jason Tatum injury update. A ton to go over today, folks. But before we get into it all, if you’re a part of the percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, you guys have been an absolute beast with the support. So, make sure to hit that subscribe button and thank you guys once again for your continued support over here as we continue to produce daily Celtics videos. Folks, it’s an interesting part of the offseason. The regular season’s inching closer and closer. More moves are still going to be made for this Boston Celtics team. You would assume there’s reports about Anthony Simons. And there’s reports about a brand new player that has dropped in the name who goes by, of course, someone we’re all familiar with. Ben Simmons of all people, as you can see this here, Boston, Phoenix, New York, and Sacramento have shown interest in Ben Simmons. League sources say that the Suns Suns have also had some recent dialogue with former Ben Simmons, who I’m told has drawn interest since free agency from Boston, New York, and Sacramento. So, this is some very big news here because it seems that his decision is going to be coming to an end very, very soon here and we’ll know what team he’s going to be playing on. And this, of course, isn’t the same Ben Simmons that we saw and, you know, had the insane potential like he did back in uh the on Philadelphia and the, you know, the Sixers team. However, it is an intriguing name and I’m very curious to see what you guys think about this. But the article basically goes on to say that there’s been recent dialogue between a bunch of different teams with Simmons and last year he split time between Brooklyn and the Clippers. And of course, you know, he averaged five, five and five. Basically, everything that we expected from Ben Simmons at this point in his in his career. Now, for the Celtics to be involved opens up a bit of a can of worms here. And this is from Mark Stein, a very notable reporter. But let’s start to go through why this could be the case. Now, the uh the Celtics specifically don’t have much of a bench and even their starting lineup is a little bit interesting. With Jason Tatum out, it becomes very interesting. Now, we know how good he was with the Sixers. Now, does you know Brad Stevens think that Joe Mazul is going to be able to unlock what we saw in Philadelphia with, you know, Ben Simmons? I doubt it because he hasn’t been able to do that on literally any other team, but he is still an interesting versatile bench player who will be valuable for any team with a need for defense. You can see the second paragraph there. Celtics are one such team as they recently parted ways with, you know, Drew Holiday and now they have Anthony Simons. So, what becomes interesting here is the defensive side of the ball. And if the Celtics, they have a year now where they can not necessarily have any pressure on them, right? because they’re not going to be competing for a championship. You wouldn’t assume they’re going to go out there, play some of the younger guys, play some of their interesting players, see how they do, and then decide the trade deadline, whether they’re going to be buyers, sellers, all these different things. It’ll obviously be a very interesting question. And again, let’s look at the depth chart here for a second because you look at Derrick White, Anthony Simons, Jaylen Brown, Gorus, Neimada. You could run some small ball lineups with Ben Simmons at the four and the five. Like some I’m sure some fans out there would argue that Ben Simmons could be more useful than a guy like maybe Gorgus Nang given this particular lineup. I don’t see a super clean fit on this team with Ben Simmons. Like they’ll play him off the bench of course. Maybe take some minutes away from you know Baylor Shyman assuming they keep Sam Hower. It’s a weird fit right and you look at his stats last year was very bad with the Clippers. With the Brooklyn Nets he was decent of course finished the year you know starting 24 of his 51 games he played averaging five points a game, five rebounds, six assists. basically for all intents and purposes he’s a point forward that is a very good defender very good rebounder very good passer now again at this point of his career is he still those things he’s only 28 years old and if Brad Stevens thinks that he can find a bit of a you know hidden gem here and it’s not really hidden but a hidden gem in the sense of they can see something in him still that other teams might not be willing to take the risk on then of course it might make some sense and especially compared to other teams because again the Celtics aren’t necessarily trying to contend like they’re in a weird spot you could argue that he’s better than some of the players at least maybe better off giving minutes compared to some of the players. I mean, Gorgus Dang, Neimas Kada as, you know, an interesting one. Luca Garza, even like Xavier Tilman, I could see him just taking Xavier Tilman’s minutes at the four. I think that, you know, as like the backup backup four, they run Sam Hower at the three in in the bench unit. You run, of course, Ben Simmons as the backup four. Like, I think that would be a pretty interesting spot for him. See what he can do. Provide some defense to the starting lineup that doesn’t have, you know, a ton of defense outside of Derrick White. And, you know, Jaylen Brown’s an okay defender at times. So, it’s like you’re you’re in an interesting spot. It is an interesting spot, but I do think there is a spot for him and with the injuries that they’ve been dealing with, of course, Xavier Tilman’s injury, all these different things. I don’t hate it. Do I love it? No. Does it make all the sense in the world? Not really. But it does open up an interesting can of worms here for the Boston Celtics if they’re able to go ahead and get somebody like Ben Simmons. And the other teams that are interested like the Knicks make some sense. The Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, all teams that are trying to compete and kind of just I guess want an upside guy with some defense. And that would, you know, that’s what Ben Simmons ultimately is. But at the same time, it would help the Celtics defensively. That would be the main reason you’re getting him. And the Eastern Conference is wide open right now and is wide open this year. And if they think that Ben Simmons defense can help in a bench role, in a starting role, whatever it is, and they want this team to be better defensively, then it makes some sense, right? Cuz he is a defensive floor razor and a defensive ceiling razor. Both of those things. He’s that good defensively despite his injuries, despite his lack of offensive ability, all these different things. He’s a great defender. that’s what he does and if you can get him for cheap it makes some sense and it would be interesting to see you know what happens here in free agency but that’ll wrap up that section let me know down below a would you want to see them take a fly around Ben Simmons if so who would you want to you know have him replace in the lineup because someone would have to go would it be a guy like Xavier Tilman maybe even I mean it probably wouldn’t be Luca Garza maybe Neimis Kada and his minutes there I think a lot of it also quick you know note before I wrap up here sidet track I think it also depends on how Gorgis Nang how Neimis Kada all these guys play and if some bad playing time, you know, happens. Opens up a spot for Ben Simmons for minutes. But that’ll wrap that up. Let’s also dive into a big injury update. And Jason Tatum, of course, went down with his Achilles tear. He has been recovering extremely fast. And a new update has dropped. And you can see here he has no boot uh per his Instagram story. Now, there’s been a lot of footage going around on Instagram and things like that showing how fast Jason Tatum is recovering. He’s already working. His work ethic’s incredible. If you’ve been following the Celtics for a while, if you’re a Celtics fan, we all know how good Jason Tatum’s work ethic is, right? and that’s never been a problem. It’s never been anything to discuss. However, for now, him recovering is going to be the biggest thing. And we heard Brad Stevens in the offseason a few weeks ago basically say the biggest goal for us this offseason is not necessarily making a big splash via trade. They could have already done so with Jaylen Brown at the trade deadline, all these different things or sorry, at the NBA draft, I guess deadline technically, you know, mini trade deadline there before the draft happened. Their goal is to get Jason Tatum 100% healthy for the year after next. And of course, that’s why there was rumblings about them acquiring, you know, Damen Lillard, all these different things. At the end of the day, he is now out of a walking boot and he’s apparently putting in work with the men’s basketball team. He’s, you know, locked in. He’s doing a bunch of different exercises and it’s very encouraging to see because he is recovering very quickly. These Achilles tears can, you know, take a variety amount of time, you know, various amount of time rather. For some people, obviously, they come back better, uh, not better than before, but, you know, sooner than others and heal better than others. for Jason Tatum. It’s going to be interesting to see like if he’s healthy towards the end of next season. Will they push him? I highly highly doubt it. Like I don’t think that’s going to happen. But to see him out of a boot already is extremely encouraging. That was posted on his Instagram story yesterday evening afternoon. So it’s interesting there. And of course this season upcoming is going to be one of the more interesting seasons that the Celtics have had for a very long time because they’re not directly competing for a championship. They’re obviously not tanking. It’s a bit of a gap year, a retool year. And maybe with the East Conference so wide open, maybe Derrick White takes a step forward. Maybe Pton Pritchard, Baylor Shyman, maybe their first round pick, Huga Gonzalez, like they’re going to need to strike on some players overperforming in order to actually be competitive in the Eastern Conference. But that’s not that far-fetched, especially given the fact that this team has been good for so long now. It’s going to be interesting to see how they actually specifically compete beyond, you know, not this beyond this year, of course, with Tatum returning, but also next year with Jaylen Brown kind of spearheading this and seeing what Jaylen Brown can do, uh, carrying a team. And it’s going to be interesting there. Let me know down below what your thoughts are on that. And of course, also, let me know what your thoughts are on the Ben Simmons interest. Kind of came out of nowhere. Bit of a shocking turn here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens. They’re also looking to move on from Anthony Simons’s others and others. We’re going to keep you up to date with everything related there. Thank you guys for watching. See you later.

I see Ben’s face and I already say no for the love of gawd no
No thanls on simmons
How can Simmons thrive in Joe mazzulas system without a 3 ball
I wouldn't mind Simmons. He's still an elite defender.
Its intriguing in the sense of he can replace the rebounding and playmaking we'll miss from Tatum but still a lot to be desired every where else
If he wants to play basketball, he would be a great fit beside white, Simons and jb as a facilitator
Fuck Ben Simmons if they sign him I’m out FFS!🤬🤬🤬
We don't want he pure trash player we really gone look with that type of player stay away from that wash up mediocre yo
We had an exceptional amount of interesting SUMMER LEAGERS this year I'd give a chance before I pick a guy who "quiet quit" on an NBA salary. Sorry not sorry,, mental health your garbage ssa to one of our rivals or Sacramento lmao
I didn’t even watch the video but I see Ben Simmons in the thumbnail, PLEASE, please God no, please
Any other year I'd laugh but someone needs to help play make and most important grab some rebounds…..we are gonna get killed on the boards. Lol
Celtics teach Marcus Smart how to shoot 3s. Ben could do that too.
Bring in Big Ben i will take his 5 points for 10 minutes i didn't even know he scored 5 points key points no dumb turnovers ie brown smart and tatum no dumb 3 s refer to above
We will take him ☘️☘️☘️☘️
Why not sign him vet. Minimum Ben Simmons still great playmaker, rebounder & his defense still great
I think he would thrive in boston actually.
Hard pass
He can be like a Draymond green of gsw if we keep shooting 3s
As long as Ben Simmons plays as a big I am OK with it. But he cant shoot, Our coach wont like it
No, Hell no!
NO. just NO.
Based on Ben Simmons talent and skill set and how it meshes with our current roster? I say yes
Based on Ben Simmons personality and his drive to win on the basketball court? I say No.
