New Knick Reveals TRUTH on Signing…
The newest Nick has revealed the truth on why he signed with New York in this free agency despite having a lot of suitors. And this proves everything that Leon Rose has planned to do right as the Knicks have completely flipped the switch. And now fans are buzzing over this signing and the Knicks off seasonason that is widely regarded as very successful. And we’re going to break all that down. What’s up guys? Welcome back to Nick’s Digest. It’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into things as always. If you guys are part of that 65% that’s not subscribed to Nicks Digest, make sure to subscribe for daily New York Knicks updates. We have a bunch of videos coming at you guys and you do not want to miss out on all the fun. But let’s jump into it. The Knicks had a very active off season thus far and one of the bigger signings they made with that mid-level exception was bringing in Gershon Yabusale. Yabusle who previously played for the Philadelphia 76ers last year and for the Celtics a while back. He really showed out in his first year back in the NBA after a long time off. Now, Yabusi was playing overseas for a while and got noticed when he was absolutely balling out in the Olympics, which included him dunking on LeBron James when Team USA developed that Avengers team after the Feeble loss and ultimately won the gold medal to where France won the silver medal because they lost in that gold medal game. And when it all came down to it, Yabus was one of the brightest spots on that France team. Now, Philadelphia saw that and went out to sign Yapu and they gave him a minimum deal and it paid off for Gershon who now gets that mid-level exception with the Knicks getting a bump in payball, also joining a contending team that has a lot of hype surrounding it right now and getting a role where he is going to play a lot of minutes at a few different positions. Now, considering the Knicks also have Mitchell Robinson and Carl Anthony Towns, Yabus will play a mix of power forward and center for this team. The Knicks signed him for his versatility and they needed another forward to bring into this roster and Yabu Sale fits very well and he spoke on his decision to sign with the Knicks and his fit and everything surrounding this move by saying for for the family it’s an easy trip from France but then the teamwise it was amazing. It’s been amazing watching the team grow year after year but especially the character what they bring to the court. I’ve played against the Knicks and I was like oh my god they have good chemistry. There’s no ego. Everybody is vibing in the same way. They go out and play hard. Watching the Knicks in the playoffs with them just being together. I thought, “Okay, this might be a great opportunity for me to play hard like I do, but at the same time, I just want to add what I can on the court.” And on top of that, he also mentioned just the fans, amazing fans, amazing stadium. When you go to the arena, you see all those people coming out to the game. It definitely added a bit of spice. all these challenges. I figured out, let’s just do it. Now, that’s one of the things that constantly gets brought up by everyone. Now, every star player, every player says that their team has the best fans, but we all know that the best fans are Knicks fans. That’s not lost on any of us. Knicks fans are a different breed. It’s not like this with any other sports team in New York. I mean, the Yankees are usually good and the Mets are up and down, but the city’s not buzzing at a completely different level like they are when the Knicks are good in the playoffs. In playoff basketball in these recent years where the Knicks have been there prominently, people are always wearing Knicks stuff everywhere. You’re seeing Knicks hats, you’re seeing Knicks shirts, all that stuff. People are just walking around in Knicks jerseys cuz the weather’s getting warm. It is constant that people are covered in their Knicks gear. It is something that has really gotten the whole city to stand behind is they’re the Knicks, they’re the only team in New York City. They’re the only professional basketball team in New York City. So, it does really mean that the whole entire city will band together and not being split up like how the Giants and the Jets. I mean, the Giants are the big brother. I’m saying this as a Jets fan. And they have like 55% of the city while the Jets have 45. And then you look at the Yankees and the Mets. The Yankees probably have what 60? It’s probably a 6040 swap. The Rangers, the Islanders, the Devils, that stuff gets split up given the Rangers take the majority. And the Ranger fans are nuts as well. I want to give them their credit. Shout out Darius Dominguez on Rangers Digest. I’m about I’m about to be hanging out with him tomorrow up in Canada, but that I I guess doesn’t really affect that much. I just want to shout out Darius. But also at the same time, then you have the Knicks. The Knicks are the only team in New York City that matters or is a professional basketball team to begin with. So because of that, basically 100% of the fans are rooting for the Knicks. There’s like a I don’t know maybe two 3% of people who root for that whatever that that high school team is out in New Jersey or something. But when it comes down to it, out of the 29 teams in the NBA, the Knicks have brought together a whole city, a major city where most of the teams get split. We see it with the Lakers and Clippers to a lesser degree. The Lakers definitely dominate, but still. And outside of that, those are the only it’s the only city that really does have this whole two team thing going for it. Obviously, the state of Florida has two teams and the state of California has four and the state of Texas has three, but they all have their own city, so it’s completely different. Gershon Yabusalei joined a team that has an insane fan base that’s ride or die for their players constantly. And also, he’ll fit in well with the intensity. He’ll fit in with the group that has a great core together. The sirens are back cuz it’s late at night when I’m recording this video and that’s when the sirens come out just in case I’m tired and want to go to bed. But honestly, it threw me off. But honestly with Gershon Yabui with this team in general the Knicks they fit Yabusi fits in with that high intensity playing with a fierce competitiveness that every time he steps out onto the floor he’s going to be doing whatever it takes to try to help his team win at all costs. It’s who Yabu Sale is as a player. And when we look at the Knicks depth chart it becomes really interesting to see how it all goes down. I mean I imagine this is not going to be the starting five. I’ve said this before when I’ve pulled this graphic up. I imagine this is not going to be the starting five and that Mitchell Robinson will start at center and towns will be at the power and Joshuart will come off the bench. That’s my guess, but just using this as the starting lineup because it’s up there and it’s the easiest way to break it down. You look at Yabu Sale, he’s going to play some minutes at power forward, but he’s also going to play some minutes at center. When Robinson and Towns are on the floor together, there’s going to be moments when Yabu Sale comes on and is playing center, but neither of those guys are there. And the Knicks can run a small ball unit with Yaboo at the five and run a little five out action. You’ll probably have Josh Hart on the floor as well in that situation just to add size and OG might be out there as well with those units. But Mike Brown is known for mixing up his units a lot. So the Knicks will have a few different lineups out there that do feature Yabu Sale as a small ball five. Something that will fit the Knicks fast offensive style of play that thank God they finally have. So I think Yabu Sale is the perfect fit for this team right now. I think he’s exactly what the Knicks needed at the right time. and he’s off to France right now for some training camp with the national team as they prep as they prepare for the European Championships this summer. So, that’s going to be huge. Abu Salley is going to be in the gym. He’s going to be working out. He’s going to be in game shape by the time everything gets ready to go for training camp. And he’s also going to be coming off another season with France where he clearly, like most people, you get motivated when playing for your country. We see this especially with players from France, it feels like, but all around. And when Yaboo got that offer back from the 76ers, his response was, “It was really low.” Like, “Oh my god, you really don’t want me to stay.” So, obviously, Yabus took that as a hint to go to a rival team in New York and put up very nice numbers where he puts up 11 points per game last year with five and a half rebounds and two assists. Now, at the same time, he’s also shooting 50% from the field and 38% from three. His above the break three-point shooting is incredibly high as he’s actually better above the break at those wings and top of the key area than the corner three which is the easiest shot or the closest three-point shot to take. So usually that is the higher percentage not with Yabu because he’s just a different breed. Now when the Knicks brought in Yabuy they also kind of silently agreed to not bring back Precious Achua who still is unsigned as of right now. Achua last season put up 6.6 points, 5.6 and six rebounds and one assists per game, blocking and nearly stealing or blocking one shot and nearly stealing one ball per game. On top of that, he shot 50% from the field and 28% from three. Now, Precious also was a tweener power forward center like Yabu Saley except Yabu Sale is a lot better. So, the Knicks did upgrade there. They continued to upgrade their bench in huge in huge ways. And another way they did that was also bring in Jordan Clarkson who put up 16 points last year and shows a lot of really really good isolation scoring that the Knicks could use while also giving them another ball handler which they desperately needed. So all this shows the Knicks had an excellent offseason and they should be happy with this Yabu signing. They should be happy with this Jordan Clarkson signing and I am happy with it. Wish it was Brogdon over Clarkson otherwise all good
Do yall think Yabusele is better than I-Hart
Yeah anyone who knew what we were working with going into the offseason is real happy with these moves. We checked in on every player and situation and made the most of the available players who want to be here.
Yabu is better than Hart, Brogden, and clarkson
Gonna be a good year.!
One of the best defensive coaches in the nba, Thibs, couldn't solve the team's defensive problems- guarding the perimeter and Kat's defensive failures. These problems tore the lockerroom apart and led to factions being formed. Things got so bad that it was reported that the team hired 3 psychologists. Never heard of anything like that happening before. The Knicks have done nothing to solve these problems and why should Brown be able to when Thibs couldn't? So unless they get some defensive help, the Knicks could be in deep trouble and the honeymoon with Brown ending quickly. Offensively the Knicks helped themselves but not defensively.
