Lakers Favored To Land Robert Williams
What’s going on everyone? So, Robert Williams III Lakers are interested and have even touched base on dating back to really last off season even um for Robert Williams III to make his way to the Lakers via trade. Uh and now the Lakers are the favorites for his new team and new destination um per Bovvada as well as Bet US. Now, obviously that it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s for sure coming. Um, but there has been a lot of buzz all off season about Robert Williams the third. Um, that the Lakers are really interested in bringing in Matis Thybel as well as Robert Williams the third. Um, two, the Lakers now since landing Marcus Smart, there have been reports that the Lakers are really intrigued with bringing in Robert Williams more than ever because of him and Marcus Smart and their relationship and how they can kind of have that that that team uh to to add to the Lakers, right? So, I would love Robert Williams the third. I mean, in all honesty, he’s the exact player the Lakers need. Exact. The problem is is the amount of games he plays, right? Like if you had a crystal ball and you knew like, “Hey, Robert Williams is going to play 65 games and be fully healthy the entire playoffs,” I’d be like, “Dude, go trade what you have to get. Go get Robert Williams and Matis Styel, right? Go pull off that trade. Make it happen.” But the problem is, you don’t know that. You look at the last few years, the most he’s ever played in a season is 61 games. If he gave us 61 games off the bench, perfect. I’ I’d be totally okay with that. But you don’t know if he’s going to do that. played 20 games, six games, 35 games, 61 games, 52 games, 29 and 32. I mean, you look at literally the last three seasons from 2022 to 2025. I mean, he’s played what is that 50 61 games. He’s played the the 2021 2022 season, he played as many games as he’s played in the last three seasons. So, that’s the problem. And he’s a guy that is a career backup. Now, the 61 games that he played, he was a starter for all 61. Um, and he did play 30 minutes and that was his best uh season as far as production. But, I mean, he’s a guy that again gives you that bull in a china shop type of guy. Hard, physical, play defense, right? Not afraid to b with the big boys, can block shots, can rebound with the best of them. I mean, he’s an excellent rebounder, right? He’s a guy that go get you a double double even in limited minutes. and and you know, you’d look at him as a guy slaughtered in in a backup role behind a DeAndre Aiden. I think make all the sense in the world. I like him more than Jackson Hayes, right? Nothing against Jackson Hayes. I like Jackson Hayes. I even defended him at times last season, but like I’ve said from the beginning, I don’t think I think he’s more closer to a third big. I think he’s a guy that you slot in 10 15 minutes a night. It’s giving you high energy, high effort. You know, over the course of the regular season, you know, maybe he’s going in and giving you, you know, a random night here and there where he’s playing 20 minutes or oh, he’s filling in when needs the night off or something. Sure, no problem, right? Like that that makes sense. But and we’ve seen him be able to do that. But as your primary backup night in and night out, it’s not ideal. I don’t think it’s like, “Oh my god, Lakers need to hurry up and get us.” No, I think the Lakers are fine. They can take their time, get into the season if you need to. Even at worst, if Jackson Hayes is your primary backup, even in the playoffs, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, right? The difference in backup centers is ve is very minimal, right? The difference between a Jackson Hayes and even like a Nick Richards isn’t like astronomical. It’s not like yage compared to even like an Aton or something, right? Where it’s just like glaring holes, right? Like, no, you’re not getting that insane production from a backup center more often than not. Yeah, they’ll have their games, they have their outlier moment stuff, but they’re usually backups for a reason, right? because they’re not consistent enough to be starters or they’re not good enough in certain areas to be starters. And so again, I don’t think the backup is something that absolutely needs to be addressed. But if you can do it through the mix of moves and trades that you’re making, then sure, right? Like if you can get a Matise Dable and in the process of getting Matis Dable essentially get Robert Williams a third for you know pennies on the dollar then sure, right? Like because now you’re solving two needs. Now you got that 3 and D wing that you’ve been looking for and you got a better upgrade at the backup center if healthy. And that’s the key if healthy. Um, you know, so look, if the Lakers can bring in Robert Williams the third, I am all for it. I have no problems with it. It is a risk, right? And so, you know, Lakers, you have to get him for pretty cheap. Like, and not just that, but how many teams are are going to go and and pony up first round picks? They’ve been trying to get a first for Robert Williams for 2 years now. They’re not going to get it. They’ll be lucky to get a second cuz again, you don’t know if he’s going to play for you and he’s on an expiring contract, so he could just leave, right? Especially if you don’t want to pay him and he wants a bag or something like that. And if he can’t stay healthy, you’re not paying him anything, right? Like if he can’t if he gives you 20 games next year, you’re not g like Sorry, buddy. You’re a vet minimum guy at that point, right? Like teams aren’t going to go and give you 20 million a year to to play 20 games. You know, you’re not going to make a million a game. it’s just unrealistic uh for this situation. So Portland has to understand that too. Um there’s also the potential of Portland buying him out. Now I I don’t know. I think that they could get something from Robert Williams. I think there’s a team that would you know give you a second or something like that or you know you know a couple pick swaps or something in the right situation for Robert Williams. So I do think that they could get something for Robert Williams, but you don’t who knows, right? I mean they’ve been trying to shop him. They’ve been trying to trade him for some time and they haven’t been able to do it cuz Portland still has several centers, right? Donovan Cleanland is going to be their starter and then they have uh Yane Henson. So those are kind of the two guys, but then they have Reath and all these other guys. So Robert Williams the third kind of makes sense to get off of him if you can. You’re not going to pay him, you know, and give him a new contract. So if you can get anything for him, anything is better than nothing. So you add him as salary uh to a, you know, Matise Thybel trade. I do think that that makes a lot of sense. Uh, and you know, because now what you’re able to do is you’re able to get kind of a bigger player return for the Lakers and maybe the Lakers could work some stuff out. But you look at Robert Williams, he’s making 13.28 million. Um, you add in Matis Style, he’s making I think it’s like 11.5 million. You can basically swap him and Gabe Vincent. Um, but you know, so let’s call it 26 million between the two, right? counting the the in because Lakers are so close to that threshold, right? So, could you do something where you know it’s it’s maybe you’re sending out a Matis Styel and a Robert Williams and the Lakers are sending out a a Gabe Vincent Dalton connect and a Maxi Clebbo, right? And it’s kind of, you know, now the Lakers clear a little salary off their books. they’re clearing, you know, like a million and a half so they could fill that roster spot that they need to fill. Um, and then still have some money left over for later on down the road. Um, you know, there there’s options there. Like, but you’re not like I’m not trading Ruie to get that done. I’m not doing like no. Like, you know, we’ll give you Dalton Connect. He’s a young prospect for you. You’re getting a young guy for for two guys that you’re probably just going to lose in the offseason. You could do worse. Both guys are injuryprone, have injury concerns. two guys that yes would be fanta I mean could really be the difference that puts this team over the top but it’s like you know they’re unreliable right the best ability is availability and you’re going to lose for so again if if the Lakers could pull it off for like a Dalton connect or maybe a Dalton connect and a pick swap or something like that then sure but I’m not trading my first I’m not trading Ruy not doing any of that stuff because Portland wanted Ruy Hachimura um he was one of their their kind of preferred guys um when uh they were talking about a Jeremy Grant trade at some point, which he might end up being a buyout candidate uh down the road. So, keep an eye on him. But, you know, I just I I look at the Robert Williams situation if the Lakers can pull that off and to a to a point where it makes sense or like I also wouldn’t hate I wouldn’t hate trading for Robert Williams if you can clear salary in a roster spot, which Portland does have some salary. They do, you know, they could kind of make it work. Like could you do something where you’re doing you know adding two or three guys like you know again maybe you’re adding a Cleba and a and a Gabe Vincent and a and a you know Dalton connect just for Robert Williams and then but you’re clearing a bunch of salary off your book so you can go and sign guys and do stuff. If it was something like that then sure maybe but I don’t know if Portland would go that extreme. To me, I think it’ll be I I think if the Lakers land uh Robert Williams, it’ll either be via buyout or it’ll be through a trade with Matis Style. Like, I don’t think the Lakers come away with just uh you know, Robert Williams. I think it’ll be something where it’s Williams and Thyel for whatever else it is, right? Like I said, probably Gabe Vincent, Maxiba, and Dalton Connect. Bakers clear a little salary space, right? Portland gets a nice young prospect that they can add to their their, you know, youthful pool for two guys that they’re going to lose regardless. I think it’s that that’s kind of a win-win for both sides. But I want to get into Robert Williams and kind of his production. Good thing is too is if he can finally get healthy and get right, I mean, he’ll be 28 before the season begins. So talk about a guy that you could still have if he can get himself right five, six years a as like a primary backup and is one of the better backups when healthy. I mean even in a limited role like I said I mean he played 17 just under 18 minutes per game, 17.6 minutes per game and was a a six and six guy, right? Like that’s great rebounding lob threat and he’s the exact kind of guy that slots in alongside Luca. He’d probably be close to a double double guy in 18 to 20 minutes of action on this Lakers team because you have Luca, you have LeBron, you have Austin Reese, you have these guys that can set him up and get him uh where he needs to go. But to dive into Robert Williams, 20 games played last year, three games started, 17.6 minutes per game, four attempts, 3.9 to be exact, he was 64.1% from the floor. Three-point range on 2 attempts, he was 33%. Not a guy you want taking threes, right? stay away from three-point shooting. Um, but two-point range 65.3% on 3.8 attempts. EFG of 64.7%. Free throw shooting, he was uh 88.2% on one attempt. Um, he is a career 67.4% guy, but you look at the last two seasons, he was 88.2 last year and he was uh 78% on one and a half attempts the year prior. So, that’s a good sign that he can knock down the free throws with some consistency. Again, he’d be in a backup role, so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Um, but definitely something to kind of keep an eye on. Uh, he grabbed six rebounds, including two offensive rebounds, uh, one assist, a steal, almost two blocks, one and a half, 1.7 blocks per game, uh, and six points. That’s ridiculous for 18 minutes of production. Um, you look at his per 36. Now, per 36 doesn’t tell you everything. kind of gives you a little idea of what he could um provide this team if he was to play heavy minutes um in and you know a starter role on any given night. He would be 12 points, 12 rebounds, 2.2 assists, one and a half steals and 3.4 blocks per game. 3.4 blocks per game, right? Like that’s ridicul. If if you can go get Robert Williams the third, go get Rob Robert Williams the third. It makes sense that he’s the favorite. Lakers need could use a better backup. He’s been linked to the Lakers room sometime since they got Marcus Smart, right? They they’ve kind of been more incentivized supposedly to go get a Robert Williams. Uh so again, all he checks off all the boxes. If you can get him, I don’t want to get him like I don’t I don’t want it to be like a Gabe Vincent Dalton connect for Robert like that to me would just be a disaster. I’d want it to be something where you’re landing a Robert Williams and a Thible, right? So, you’re getting both. You’re getting Matis Styel and a Robert Williams in exchange for, like I said, Cleba Connect. And And it’s like, what are you going to get that’s better than Cleba or uh better than Oh, KBA could be pretty good. What are you going to get that’s better than Dalton Connect? Sorry. Right. Like, seriously, what are you going to get that’s better than Dalton Connect for those two with the risks, the injury issues, all of that. And then also Clea could be nice for them or they could ship him out, you know, for a second round pick or a young player or something like that to to a team. Uh it’s an expiring contract so they they if they do just let him fall off the books, then fine, let him just fall off the books and you keep keep and preserve salary space like or you can maybe maybe you can flip KBA and uh uh Gabe Vincent. I think there’s a lot of veteran teams that would take Gabe Vincent. Phoenix is a team that might take Gabe Vincent. you got a couple teams that I think would take him on and maybe throw you a second or something like that, right? To to go get him. So, I think it’d be good for for all sides. But, let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments. That being said, if you haven’t liked this video, hit that like button. Helps me a lot. Lakers could use a backup at the center position and Robert Williams could be an ideal candidate. Lakers Trade for Williams has been linked for some time but Lakers News has them as the favorites to land Williams. Lakers Nation landing Williams would do wonders for the Lakers.

Familiarity with smart and Ayton helps …maxi and Dalton can be moved for thybull
Robert Williams, when healthy, is waaaay better than Jaxon Hayes, no need to be subtle about it.
Bruh – new background – up subscribers
They not trading Kleber that's Luka's boy
Williams has played 26 games in 2 years. NO!
Kleber, Gabe, DK and second for Rob Williams and Thybulle, pls get this done rob
would you trade hachimura if camara is involeved?
Honestly no. The fewer injury prone guys we have the better. Celtics traded him because of his constant injury history, and the very next season he got hurt again and they won the chip.
AIS how many videos is this for the day? Putting in overtime man. Keep up the good work bro. šš
It will never happen š¢š®
Are we going for the all injured team???
Just saying if we get him Iām so excited for this season

Keon Ellis? Gabe DK SRP
Whooo???

We need to trade REAVES man.. I gotta feeling heās about to make a Dennis Schroeder level mistake chasing a bag..
NO, we have so many BIGS now.
He's a great player but way to injury prone. Lakers don't need to overpay for a player that will play 30 games tops.
Lakers have ayton Hayes kleber and Kololo on their roster thatās already 1 center too many only way they do this is sending out kleber n ayton Hayes Williams on your roster id take away Kolokos 2 way spot for a wing/pf

Bullshitā¦
I only want Robert Williams if he got bought out Iām not giving any assets for him
I think weāll be surprised who luka recruiting š
As long as we get thybulle thatās all I care about to see we winning it all if we healthy Iāve been saying we needed someone like thybulle a dude that can lock up any guard or forward on the court and spread the floor is all we need now. Vando can do the same but canāt spread the floor
Thereās also been reports that your black T-shirt smells like curry in a diaper
Great analysis &
For the right price!
Man just say you don't watch games and don't keep up with ANY players because R. Williams ain't been shit but injured and YOU want that why? I wouldn't send a nickel his way.
