Lakers NEW Buyout Market Target after SALARY DUMPING Kleber/Vincent? | Lakers Nikola Vucevic Option?

Lakers NEW Buyout Market Target after SALARY DUMPING Kleber/Vincent? | Lakers Nikola Vucevic Option?

[Music] Up until this point, the Lakers been very active on the bio market, getting two of their four new additions through the bio market. Of course, being DeAndre Aton, getting him via the Portland Trailblazers, and then for Marcus Smart, getting him from the Washington Wizards. So, with that in mind here, could they continue that trend and maybe go through the bio market again? I mean, it’s been pretty hot compared to normal. And there might be more on the way here. With a name that’s actually popping up lately being Nicolola Busovich, a guy they’ve had trade interest in before and not only last season, but probably for the past two or three now at this point. Could they potentially get him through the bio market? After all, he is under a one-year contract and doesn’t really have a future with the Chicago Bulls. I mean, I’m not sure anyone really knows what the Bulls future is at this point, but I really doubt it will be with Nicola Busitch for that much longer. And according to Jake Fischer, there is apparently no trademark for Nicola Busovich, and he is more likely to be bought out than traded during the NBA season, which could be as soon as this coming week or this month, I guess, or potentially as late as the trade deadline. So, with that in mind here, depending on if or when he does get bought out, should the Lakers have interest, should they go out of their way to open up more cap space, or rather payroll and first apron space to sign him? After all, they currently can’t sign a player to fill their 15th spot, even if they wanted to. Right now, they’re pushing the first apron, and they can’t go over it. They’re only 1 million below the first apron, and that’s simply not enough to sign a veteran minimum contract. Whether you’re talking about a rookie or a player going into roughly their 15th NBA season like Nicola Busovich, for them to be able to do that, they would have to offload roughly $2.5 million of space below the first apron, which would mean trading and kind of salary dumping a guy like Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleba, or making a bigger trade and actually trade they want to make and taking back less money while keeping a roster spot open through that trade. So again, is it worth it for Nola Busousvich? Maybe a different biomarket target. Maybe somebody like Chris Middleton who might get BO in the future. Maybe. That’s obviously up for debate here. Though I guess if you point to their recent biomarket history, it’s worked out pretty well for them. Getting guys again like DeAndre Aton and Marcus Smart through the bio market, not having to give up trade assets for them, getting them pretty much for nothing and for very cheap contracts, far less than they’re worth in my opinion. It’s definitely worked out for them. And obviously with the help of Luca Donuch, he’s helped recruit them. might he help recruit a guy like Nicoolola Busovich? That could be another idea here and might be another pathway for them to improve their team without giving up any trade assets. So, we’re going to talk about the possibility of if Nicole Busitch would hit the pio market, if he would be a good fit for the Lakers, if he would be worth making a salary dumb move first to sign thereafter, and simply about if the Lakers make sense for him to sign with, or if the Lakers should even want to sign Nicola to begin with. So, we’ll talk about that and try to break it all down here. To begin, I guess starting by talking about Nicola Busitch’s last season and his current production level at this point. Entering his age 35 season, like I said, is a current member of the Chicago Bulls, a team that’s pretty much going nowhere. And he definitely had plenty of opportunity for playing time last season and kind of to show what he can still do if built around an offense and kind of made a primary option in offense, too, which he likely wouldn’t be with the Lakers. But during his time last season and in that role with their team, he definitely did play pretty well. I will admit it. Averaging roughly 18 1/2 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, 3 and 1/2 assists per game, nearly one block per game, and shooting a fairly efficient 53% for the field and a very impressive 40.2% from three while attempting roughly 4 and a half of them per game. That’s very impressive for a big man. Any big that can shoot even above 35% from the three-point line, let alone 40% like Luis did last season, is a highly soughtafter big man usually. Unfortunately though with Nicola Busousvich between him being roughly 35 years old now at this point will turn 35 on October 24th. So pretty much when the NBA season begins here then with the defense or kind of lack they’re out there with him. You know I wouldn’t call him the worst defender in the world but he’s definitely not a good defender. Maybe average at this point usually below average and especially if you’re talking about switchability on the perimeter not good at that. So he pretty much is drop coverage dependent at this point. And then on top of that is not a great rim protector. He know isn’t terrible and does have a slightly positive defensive BPM rating last season, but isn’t a good shot blocker, isn’t a switchable defender, isn’t the best help side defender, and in general is not a very productive defensive player. So if you’re getting Nola Busich, you’re definitely doing it for offense. Whether it be the floor spacing ability, that’s something that can definitely be valuable if he can maintain that. Anyways, I mean, last season is not a typical thing for him. The last time he even shot above 35% from three was during the 2020 21 NBA season. But during the 2122 NBA season, only shot 31% from three. During the 22 23 NBA season, only roughly 35%. Then only 29% during the 23 24 NBA season. So you never know exactly what you might get with him. It might be an efficient shooting year for him. It might be a terrible shooting year for him. And I guess all you can hope for is something kind of in the middle there. roughly around that 35% mark. That is kind of his overall three-point shooting career average. So hopefully along guys like Luca Donuch, LeBron James who’d draw attention away from him, that would be pretty optimistic and probably pretty realistic too. Not only that, but then factor in the passing and playmaking ability with Nicola Busovich. I mean, kind of think back to what JJ Regg did with Anthony Davis last season, playing AD in the mid high post and running their offense around him at times. Nicola Busousvich can do similar things in the court. Can operate out the mid-tie post and not only look to score for himself, but find back door cutting teammates, find guys that are running around the three-point line. Even have a play designed around him or maybe a certain kind of call around him against certain teams or against certain matchups. Nicole Busovich does have that ability and that would benefit their offense, too. I mean having a career average of roughly three assists per game to 1.7 turnovers per game pretty good for a big definitely showing his ability to be a playmaker on the court not only for himself but teammates like I said too. So talking about offense with Nicola Busousvich I think he would be a pretty damn good fit for their team whether you’re talking about the three-point shooting floor spacing ability unfortunately is not the best lob threat and therefore it’s not a vertical floor spacer. So, if you’re not that, you got to have the three-point shooting part down. And he does have that to offer. Then, with the playmaking ability from the mid- high post, the scoring ability in the low post, even the floater game, and good touch around the rim, I think he’d be a pretty good fit for their offense, especially with guys like DeAndre Aton, Jackson Hayes, and even Christian Koko already having the lob threat ability and lock down. However, I’m not sure the defense will be a great fit. Although he’s a very good offensive player and a very versatile one, not a very versatile defender. Like I said, not a switchable defensive big, not a great rim protector, not a great helpside defender, and definitely cannot hanker a defense. I mean, it obviously helps that he wouldn’t be relied on to be their starting big man. That would be DeAndre Aiden. And Boovich would then be looked at to come off the bench, and that might help him out defending against backup players and more bench players rather than the starting level opponent. But even so, he’s not a good defender. You definitely have to pair him with a guy like Jared Vanderbilt on the court. Definitely have him and probably Marcus Smart together to help him out. Having more of their good defenders around him to make up for him because if they don’t, then they’re definitely not going to have a good defensive lineup on the court. And then keep in mind that if he’s not playing a big role for their team and not offered a big role, even if it’s coming off the bench, then he might not want to join their team. Might instead choose to join a different team that has a bigger role to offer him. you know, if he can find one anyways and find a contender that would offer him that role, then he probably would go with them rather than the LA Lakers here because like I said, he wouldn’t be a starter for them. That’s without a doubt going to be DeAndre Aiden. I would pick Aiden over Boovich. I don’t think that’s even a discussion or a worthwhile argument to make. I’d like Boovich come off the bench. I think that would help their team and definitely their versatility coming off the bench, but I wouldn’t offer him a gigantic role in the team. nothing more than probably 20 minutes per game and he hasn’t played less than that in literally over a decade now at this point. So, might not be a role that he’d want to come into. But hey, if he would and if he’d want to take their role and if he’d want to accept a veteran minimum contract from them after they make a salary dump or some kind of trade that would open up more space for them, then I’d definitely be open to it. Again, I don’t find it very likely. I don’t think he’d want to be their backup center playing roughly 20 minutes per game. maybe maybe 25 at the absolute most, but I don’t think they could really make that work. He can’t play power forward. Aiden really can’t play power forward. We’re in the modern NBA here, not the early 2000s NBA. You know, maybe some packages might work with him at the five and Hayes at the four, but even that would be very difficult to pull off. So, I don’t see them offering him a big role. I’d like to have him off their bench, but I’m not sure that Vic would want to play that role and join their team for that minimal playing time compared to what he’s used to. I mean, maybe if Luca Donuch, a fellow European, would reach out to him and try to recruit him, then maybe change his mind and feel a bit better about it, but I do kind of doubt it. I think it would be a situation where the team would want him and the team would reach out to him. Obviously, that being the Lakers here and maybe even Luca Donuch as well, but I’m not sure that Busousvich would want to take the role, take the less money probably compared to a different team and probably the lesser fit than probably a different team and a different contender would offer him too. But with all of that being said, what do you guys think? How do you feel about the option of Nicola Busitch hitting the bio market if you’re the Lakers? Would you try to sign him? Would you make a salary dumb move for him? Or would you try to open up space just to sign Nicola Busitch? Or would you have no interest in signing him even for a veteran minimum? Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below. But I think that’ll pretty much do it for this one. 1. Would you have interest in opening up space to sign Vucevic once he hits the buyout market? Comment down below!

Thanks for watching! Don't forget to drop a like + subscribe for more content 🙂

  2. Vucevic is a TERRIBLE fit. I'm a bulls fan that is also a fan of Luka. Luka needs a center that can protect the rim to correct his defensive mistakes and can also catch lobs on the offensive end. Vooch ISN'T ANY OF THOSE.

  3. This would be a degress move. Maxi is much better all-round player than Vuc. The only players they to trade right now are Gabe& Dalton for another good-solid wing

  4. for sure khris middleton will buy out late january thats the player laker should look into and try to trade gabe and kleber free up a bit of money

  5. Maxi will be a convenient for this team when 3balls don't go down considering their 3p% being lower. He can space the floor when playing really good wing defensive teams e g. Houston,OKC,Min. He will come in handy. Must note is a good rebounder too, Lakers was not good rebounding team since 2020. Gotta stop asking 40yr old play 5. When is available.

  6. If Bulls want to get rid of Vuc then a straight trade Gabe and Kleeber works but doing a salary dump will lose you a first round draft pick as compensation for the team taking salary 😅

  7. La gotta be smart trading gabe. Y’all need a defensive guard and he’s one at a decent salary. As for Vuc. If he gets bought out he’s a great backup center as well as the talks with Rob Williams. Either one being bought out we be good targets for the lakers back up center. Still need that starting PF tho….

  8. I always notice in lakers comments on these type of posts. Its always people wanting to keep players or overvaluing players who barely play

  9. I’d be shocked if they’re interested in him. Anyone saying cut Gabe and maxi for him are Bronny using burner accounts. Hoping to get out the G league..

  10. This is only viable if we trade Maxi and Gabe for him. Save a little while opening up a roster spot and upgrading the C position for the Lakers; Getting two serviceable players with expiring contracts for the Bulls.

  11. Lakers could trade gade, kleber, dalton and either a 2nd or 1st swap to the trailblazers for thybulle and timelord and if vucevic gets bought out add him

  12. When did they salary Dump Max and Vince?
This is why I won't like or sub your channel anymore.

    Click bait ass laker fan

  13. With LBJ, Luka and Austin Ayton should have the most dunks of his career. All those guys love throwing the lob

  14. For LeBron they gone develop bronny much as possible then once his contract up im sure he’s gone have teams after him in next 2-3 years

  15. Not a good option. He's pricy and he needs alot of touches slowing down our offense. He's not too good on defense either. 😅
