Miami Heat Still Looking At DeMar DeRozan Trade For…Terry Rozier? | Team Adds Sharpshooter To Camp
Hey, welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you’re doing well there. If you guys could subscribe, that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. Couple house cleaning notes here for the Heat. They have signed Gabe Madson to a verbal agreement to basically do a camp try out with the Miami Heat. He played summer league this year with the Golden State Warriors. Played for Utah, known as a shooter, although he had a big dip in percentage last year. He had some big-time shooting years with the Utah Youth. Started out at Cincinnati and uh I believe he had a six three-pointer performance for Golden State in the summer league. So, he’s going to be brought into the fold with Miami and we’ll see where that allows him to go. Um when you sign an exhibit 10 contract, you’re allowed to go to the GLeague if if uh he’s ready for that kind of development. Uh it has been interesting because Miami hasn’t necessarily brought in a lot of shooters. We haven’t you know we’ve been talking about that like hey they need now they have added some on the the big the big roster with getting Norman Powell obviously but that development shooter project uh this is kind of the next place that they’re going to. The Miami Heat also signed Myron Gardner to a two-way contract. So he gets one of the two-way deals along with Vlad Golden. And the thought is likely the last one’s going to go to Drew Smith, although that is not finalized yet. Gardner had some moments, dealt with a a a finger injury where I think it got dislocated in the California Classic, but the Heat liked what he was bringing to the table in a summer where there weren’t a lot of standouts that weren’t from the notable guys who were already signed or weren’t draft picks already. So, we’ll see what he can bring to the fold. But as far as heat fodder is concerned, the the latest from the rounds has been there’s been a strangely a lot of Terry Roier rumblings that have been out there. Jake Fischer of the Stein Line/Bleacher Report, he had thrown out there that there was a Marcus Smart Terry Roier talk between Washington and Miami that obviously never came to fruition because Marcus M ended up getting bought out. Then he went to the LA Lakers on the Chiefskis. And I just I found that one interesting because I was like, well, are they like attaching who are they attaching to that deal? Like it didn’t that one didn’t make a ton of sense to me because, you know, I was just looking at I’m like, well, where are we at with uh with Marcus Smart where you look at the roster, you have DaVon Mitchell. Now, I do know that the Heat had been interested in Market Smart in the past, but it it just it felt like a weird one to me. I was like, h so I don’t know where talks broke down. I don’t know if it was a case where like maybe, you know, they were asking for picks from the Miami Heat, if they were trying to just get Terry off the books and move into a different direction. I don’t know. I don’t know. But that was out there. And now the new thing that’s out there when it comes to the Miami Heat is in uh regards to this Kings stuff is starting to to bubble up again. The Kings and the Heat have kind of been circling each other all summer and the Kings seem like the most likely destination for Jonathan Kaminga who’s been training down here in Miami. And we know that there were a lot of Heat Kaminga rumors to go forth. But there’s a couple things that are interesting with this one. Uh it’s not a huge market for him. I think it’s uh the Kings and I want to say the Nets are the other team that have been uh most tied to Jonathan Kaminga. Before in the summer when it started, it was Miami and it was Chicago. Well, Chicago’s still got their own thing going on with Josh Giddy that they got to figure out and then you got to figure out how much is Kaminga going to get. But it does feel like the reports this week where Kaminga doesn’t want to go back to the Golden State Warriors and the Golden State Warriors are trying to like hold out for a ton on a signing trade which you know they want picks a young asset non uh punitive contracts what everybody wants right ultimately what are they going to ultimately have to settle for to not have him on the team and make a stink I you know we’ll find out but the reason that this is interesting is there was some fodder around the Kings which was that they have some kind of what they’re calling a wink deal with Demar De Rozan and we know Demar De Rozan in the Heat it’s been something that just you know doesn’t seem like uh this can go away anywhere but according to uh reports out of with uh you know out of this or it’s it’s more fodder. I won’t even call it a report, but it’s like that there’s like a Demar de Rozan to Miami and they would get Terry Roier. So, it would be Terry Roier and second rounders, I guess, is what they’re saying. And again, I a couple things with this that are weird to me, which is why I’m not like really sure I buy into it. One, I I I don’t think the Heat are attaching any more assets to Terry Roier for this. I I don’t think that this is going to be one of those things where the Heat they already you already have a sunk cost in Terry Roier to now add more assets to Terry Roier to get off of it when his contract is just going to expire. I really just don’t see it unless you’re getting like a piece that you feel thrilled about getting. And here’s the thing with Demar Rosen. You’ve already gotten Norman Powell. You have Andrew Wiggins on this team. You have Tyler Herro on this team. You have DaVon Mitchell on this team. You’re gonna have Nicole Yoic playing on this team. You would imagine Bam Adabio is going to get some time with the ball in this. Where is Demar D Rozan’s role with the Miami Heat that this would get kicked up anymore? And so like the only the only way getting D Rozan makes sense to me is only if the Miami Heat have another move that they’re planning. And that would lead you to believe like they’re either a trading Tyler Hero because of being afraid of extending him, which I don’t think they are and and I don’t think they’re going to do, or they’re going to revisit the Wiggins thing, which they’ve kind of already put to bed because they’ve told Andrew Wiggins, you know, barring something unforeseen, that that was the report from Barry Jackson. Barring something unforeseen, Andrew Wiggins is going to start this year with the Miami Heat. So, while I get it, if Demard Rosen were, you know, looking at the situation being like, “Well, if you guys get Kamingo, where does that leave me? I want to go somewhere.” Okay, he’s got one year that’s partially guaranteed. basically unless the team that he goes to makes the NBA Finals um he he does not have it fully guaranteed for next year. His contract has some strange kickers in it. Let me get this. Demar De Rozan um he signed for three years 73 but the year of 2627 10 million of it’s guaranteed 12 million if he makes an all-star team this year or next year. 14 if he makes an all-star this year and the next year. And it’s fully guaranteed if a team that has him on the books for 2526 makes the NBA finals and he plays in at least 60 regular season games or it becomes fully guaranteed um December 1027. So basically the Heat would have to make the NBA finals for next year and he would have to play 60 games for this to be fully guaranteed. But at the most, you’re in a Duncan Robinson situation. If he doesn’t make an All-Star team, which I mean, it is the East. I can’t rule it out. Um, you know, at least 10 million if it’s guaranteed, but probably 12 or not probably, possibly 12. And so that’s just something to keep note with his contract is, you know, we know that the Heat want to kind of keep as much flexibility as possible. What for, we don’t know yet, but that’s where they want to keep themselves. They don’t want to they don’t want to be lined up on the books too much. So, I don’t know. But I didn’t really get the Marcus Smart thing. Um because I felt like, you know, I my thought is with the Terry Roier thing is like I I I don’t know how many people are going to truly believe in Terry Roier to just flip it on with the injuries with obvious. Yeah. And this has nothing to even do with what’s going on in the in the background. Um I I just think that’s one of those where it just feels for the Heat. They know they blew it. They know that the the the the cost has already cost them. Unless there is a move that is going My thing is if I see the Heat move Terra Roier and they added something to there better be like an all NBA move coming from it that they’re like we can’t pass on this. And with the the background I also got to think that that’s got to play a fold in with it kind of bubbling back up that oh yeah it’s still a thing. it may, you know, maybe he’s not the the the focus of it, but it’s still a thing. I just can’t imagine how many people are going to be gunning to try and move him. Um, especially not without getting some kind of sweetener. So, that seems it and I don’t think that getting Demar Rosen makes a whole lot of sense for the Heat, especially adding picks. Even if they were getting picks, even if they were going to get something with Demar because they were taking on extra, first of all, I think it would probably have to be like a first round pick to to to do that. And then because you’re taking on the extra year, even if it’s at a partial guarantee, and then you have to think about just the basketball fit, like this is not your run-of-the-mill player. This is a guy who’s obviously very credentialed. This is a guy who garners a lot of respect. And we know that the Heat have had a lot of respect for Demar De Rozan. It would signal to me that if he was going to be on the team that there would have to be some kind of counter move that there would have to be it would have to be one of your two threes that one of them you were moving on from that we just don’t know of yet. So, but you know this is this is where it’s at right now. People are trying to find solutions to things and get over the finish line with some of their moves. Certainly the Kings have had themselves a rough, you know, 12 months when it comes to where they are and all the headlines they’ve been in and all the negative spotlight they’ve taken on. So, they’re obviously trying to revamp themselves in a big big way. But, this one was uh was strange to me. and really get the uh the surrounding noise around

Yea we should trade rozier for DeRozan
I’d make that trade, especially with Rozier’s (pending) legal troubles…
Miami throwing a parade when it's announced Terryble Rozier is off the team! 🎉🕺🍾🎷🎈🥳
Terry is trash nobody want him. We just stuck with him 1 more year
Cool. And I'm looking to trade my used furniture for Ana de Armas.
No one is trading for someone being investigated
You start herro-norm-demar-wiggs-bam, ware niko Davion haywood pelle kj Italian guy on the bench. That's a sold squad in the east
We need Derozan so we can have a closer. We all know Bam and Tyler ain't it so we need somone like Derozan to close out tight games. Tobin is wrong to say the Heat don't have a place for Derozan, actually it's the other way around, this team needs a closer so bad that we lost so many games last year just because we don't have someone like that! Tyler is the closest we have for a closer but based on last year and the previous years Tyler is still not that guy.
meh…let Rozier expire or trade him for expiring contracts, we need money to re-sign Powell next year…
We desperately need a guy who can be clutch, get downhill and live at the line. DeRozan checks all the boxes. Add him to Bam, Herro, Powell, and Ware, and that’s a complete offense. If Pat pulls this off for just Rozier and a 2nd it would be a good deal for the Heat. GET IT DONE🐋📣
It feels like it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen the Heat play lol. These first round exits have been brutal
I’ve been asking for demar all year he’s literally the scorer and playmaker the heat need at the SF position to at least get them out of the play in
Herro – Wiggins – Demar – Bam – Ware …Powel off the bench with Dmitch. Or switch Demar and Powel and have Demar be the focal offense point off the bench either way. You get a bonefied player in the second unit to run the score up.
Tobs 100% the offensively straved Heat have a spot for Demar here.
3Team Deal
Heat – De’Aaron Fox & Malik Monk
Spurs – Andrew & Devin Carter 1st Rnd
King – Terry & 2 2nd Rnd Pick
Chris Boucher signed minimum
Trading for DeRozan would make it really hard to resign Powell next year, so no.
Also DeRozan is a consummate loser. Like have you guys followed this man’s career?
The Kings have a bunch of players that I want. Keegan Murray, Keon Ellis, Devin Carter, Nique Clifford. Leave DeRozan in the past.
The heat just signed Mayron Gardner for a two way contract,,, so i would love Terrible Rozier will be be the nezt move! Lets go heat!
I say keep em and let his contract expire. Resign powell. Sign tyler for no more than 40
