How did one of the most electrifying players of the 2010s seemingly disappear overnight? John Wall was your favorite player’s favorite player. He was one of the fastest guys in the league, had a crossover that ruined careers, and for a few years, he was flatout untouchable. Five straight playoff runs with the Wizards, an allNBA selection in 2017, and one of the coldest game winners we’ve ever seen in the postseason. Washington thought they had their superstar, but then everything fell apart. Now, weirdly enough, it all started with a flight of stairs. He had surgery in 2018 to fix a lingering heel injury, but during rehab, Wall slipped at his home, and completely retore his Achilles. And that one fall set off a chain reaction that ended his career. He missed over two full seasons, got traded to Houston where he was benched, signed with the Clippers, who then let him go, and just like that, he was gone. There was no farewell tour, no final playoff run. John Wall isn’t even 35 yet and he’s already out of the league.
