So, could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away Dalton Connect to the Portland Trailblazers this 2025 NBA offseason? The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Robert Williams and the Portland Trailblazers receiving Dalton Connect and Maxi Kleba. So, my immediate thoughts on this trade proposal is that this is actually a pretty good move for the Blazers to make if they’re able to get rid of an injuryprone uh player in Robert Williams, get off of his contract and get back Dalton Connect, a former first round draft pick. A really good young player uh that could perhaps thrive with a change of scenery. Last year for Dalton Connect was a little bit turbulent, especially too uh with that trade to the Charlotte Hornets being vetoed at the last minute. that took a toll on him and there has been actually ever since then just some lots of reports and lots of speculation about his future with the Lakers. So perhaps for Dalton Connect going elsewhere and sort of spending the little bit uh the first little bit of your career um elsewhere might not be a terrible idea going to a smaller market in Portland where there could be some more opportunity with some older aging guards on this roster like Drew Holiday and Damen Lillard. This could be a pretty cool place for him uh for the long term if he were to go to Portland and play pretty well. Uh Maxi Kibba is just more or less to make the money work a little bit better. So nothing crazy there, but uh he can kind of stretch the floor a little bit and be a good presence in the front court when he is healthy as well. So injury concerns there uh as well. But uh yeah, from the Lakers perspective, like Robert Williams when he’s healthy is the best player in this deal. Um I think that defensively speaking, he makes up for a lot of the shortcomings of DeAndre Aton’s game. So offensively speaking, doesn’t have to bring a lot to the table. uh he can definitely, you know, be a guy that scores at a pretty efficient rate below the basket, but truthfully speaking and just sort of how this Lakers team is built. He’d be brought in for some strict defense coming off the bench. So, he’s a very good rim protector. But, as I mentioned before, it all comes back to his health. If Robert Williams is healthy, it makes a lot of sense. The only question mark to me is, of course, his health. So, all things aside, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Portland Trailblazers. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
