NBA Live! Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Clippers | Kawhi vs Curry | LAC vs GS | NBA 2K25
Still early in the season, Grant, but most coaches have their rotations worked out by now. They really do. But if they don’t, they better figure it out soon. You don’t want to be tinkering with your lineups any later than this. Now, the opening lineup for the Los Angeles Clippers. They’ve got Bradley Beal, John Collins out there with Kawhi Leonard. Then there’s Eva to Zubots and it’s Harden in at the one. Curry against Harden. Pass to Beal. Launches a three. Yes. And a nice assist from Harden. Well, this guy shoots it with such tremendous efficiency. Bradley Beal provides the most important thing in the NBA and that’s floor spacing. Now here’s Pajki. Back to Curry. soft touch off the glass, just taking it right to the rim and no one was there to greet him. I think defensively that is not the way you want to start. Giving up high percentage looks that doesn’t typically end well. And Harden’s got the ball here for Los Angeles. Pass to Zubat. Now here’s Leonard. lower. Oh, a terrific shot on the turnaround. Well, the mid-range is certainly the area that he is most comfortable. Kawhi Leonard, that’s where he started, folks. Outside Pajki. Back to Curry. Oh, stolen by Harden. The three. Warriors with the rebound. They defeated Utah in their last game. And as a rule of thumb, the road can really test your team’s depth. But they all stepped up and collectively produced a lot of points. Well, how about the job they got from their bench? That productivity was a major part of the outcome. Here’s Harden following the score by Golden State. [Applause] Pass to Beal. Down to five on the shot clock. The Clippers got to hurry. Late clock here. They get it back. Kicks it out to Collins. Now here’s Zubox. Tight defense on him. Leonard for three. Rebounded by Green. The Warriors have gone three of three so far from the floor. Pass to Curry. Launches it from deep. Can’t hit. One for two now. Given his range, you’d expect him to capitalize on that opening. Doris, not long ago, the Clippers were not associated with star power. It’s very true, BA. But they are now. And it’s not just the talent that they have, it’s the experience that their guys bring to the court. They now have a core of big-time players who’ve been through virtually everything in the league. Now, here’s Curry. And here in the first about 3 minutes in and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. It’s going to go on Kawhi Leonard that grabbed despite the Warriors success over the last decade. It hasn’t always been this way for this franchise. Yeah, they didn’t have many winning seasons before they got Steph, Clay, and Dre. And you know, BA, from 1978 to 2012, they made the playoffs just six times. And that one falls for Curry. Boy, when you think about Stephen Curry, his style, his shooting, all the abilities have influenced the way we think about the game of basketball. Incredible. And so Curry nails both of them. You can tell when he steps to the line the kind of confidence he has in himself. It’s written all over his body language. Collins outside. Pass to Leonard. tipped to the middle. Here’s Post. Count it. All three of his attempts have gone in. Good fastpaced play there. It’s much easier to find a shot when you beat the defense back. And we’re just over three and a half minutes into this first quarter. Beal outside. [Applause] Back to Harden [Applause] Warriors with the rebound. Well, we didn’t see the same kind of control we’re used to seeing from him. This guy is usually a tremendous finisher. He’s consistent from out there, especially when you give him that kind of room. Collins outside. That one’s off. Still out of sink. Well, the defense clearly was not interested in guarding him from downtown. They’re very fortunate he missed. And Grant, the Clippers have strung together 13 straight winning seasons, but at the same time, it feels like they’ve left a lot on the table. Yeah, with all their star power over that time. They’ve made it past the second round of the playoffs only once, and that fan base is restless. This is his first trip to the free throw line tonight. shooting two. That free throw no good. I don’t think you can help but admire what Draymond Green brings to the floor on a night by night basis. This guy plays with a giant chip and he wants his teammates to come with him. He hits the second from the line. Yeah, in terms of winners in NBA history, few have the resume of Draymond Green. All right, let’s check in with Alli Le Force. Steve Kerr gave me a few minutes to catch up with him, who told me that one key will be holding James Harden in check. He said they don’t want to let Harden get too much penetration and when he does drive the lane, they’re going to shade him left and force him into his weaker right hand. It’s a strategy teams have used on Harden before, so we’ll see how effective it is tonight. Appreciate the report, Ally. The free throw dropped from Zubatz. What you love about Ivita Zubatz is he knows who he is. Big strong body, mixes it up on the glass, sets solid screens, just an understanding of who he is. Both shots good from the strike. And Curry’s got the ball here for the Golden State Warriors. Four-point game. And Steve Cerr calls time out here. He wants a few moments to regroup with his players. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] And let’s use this time to have a look at last year’s steels leaders. Number five is Kawhi Leonard. Last year he was really opportunistic defensively creating havoc. [Applause] Here’s Curry off with the layup. Got to credit the defense. They found a way to stop him and that’s never an easy task. Three-pointer Harden pure from three-point range. Yes. So much of Harden’s work happens at the top of the key, but he can also work you over from the corners. pass to post. Great D that time from Zubatz. Los Angeles has gone three of seven from beyond the arc in the first. Collins finds Harden. Here’s Leonard. Clock at six. And no good. Had a chance to take the lead. now well into his 30s. Is it fair to start wondering how many seasons Jimmy Butler has left Grant? Well, it’s a fair question, BA. But at the same time, Jimmy’s hunger is just so different than everybody else’s, which I could see helping prolong his career. And the Clippers have possession after the Warriors picking up a basket just a moment ago. Harden against Curry. Harden good. Harden’s got five now. Well, this is where James Harden’s threelevel scoring comes into play. You want to take away the rim and the three, no problem. He goes right to the mid-range. Now, here’s Pajki. No points yet. Back to Curry. [Applause] Pass to Harden. Outside. Pajki. [Applause] The three from Curry. It’s rebounded by Zubots. And that close out certainly made a difference. Well, no question. He altered that shot. And most of the time that’s just as good as blocking it. Now here’s Zubox. Pass to Leonard. Takes the three. And so far in this one, two for four. Another lead change. Give these teams credit. They’re really fighting it out. Neither team willing to give an inch and neither able to seize the momentum. This has been a fascinating one to watch. Green against Collins. And there’s the rejection. What a great defensive play by Zubots. This guy just gives you great effort defensively and you got to be in awe of incredible defensive efforts like this. Yeah, just some terrific effort there and you know the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. Paul, he’s checked in for Collins. Here’s Curry. Cans it with nobody near him. Curry’s got his third basket on the night right there. Curry knows what his team is doing to set him up in that instance. Just get him the ball in the catch and shoot game. Here’s Zubots. Count it. One for one to start the game. Both teams are hot. This is a fun one to watch. Well, you love it when you can get off to a fast start offensively. You hate it though when your opponent does the same. Now, here’s Curry. Turned in an outstanding game against Utah. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one. Leonard passes to Paul. [Applause] Pass to Harden. Leonard on the wing. fires for three. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. That’s on Jimmy Butler. Make no mistake with that frame and that touch. Zubat’s a tough cover in close. And a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the Clippers. Well, they found a groove and it’s from distance, so knocking them down from the three-point lane never hurts. You know, also they’ve been incredible on the fast break, taking those chances, playing with great pace. He misses the free throw. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. And a switch here also for the Clippers. Bogdanovich has checked in for Beal. Good on the second one. [Applause] Here’s Green and Steve Cerr calls timeout. He wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page. Heat. Heat. Let’s [Applause] go. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] You got here. pass to post and he drives in and he finishes. That makes him four out of five. Now you see Jimmy Butler’s willingness and almost really relishing the opportunity to get his teammate an open look. And so it’s Paul who brings up the ball for the Clippers. They’re coming off that loss against Denver. Yeah, it was a tough one to watch. There were some bright moments, but ultimately their mistakes caught up with them. To be perfectly frank with you, I’m surprised it was as close as it was. I thought they were outclassed all night. Warriors trail by three. Here’s Post. He’s guarded by Zubox. Down low. Here’s Pimsky. Halled in by Paul. Now Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 15-6 run. Here’s Leonard. The Warriors pull it in. Well, they have the advantage, but you still feel like this guy needs to find a way to get himself going. Pass to Green to the wing, right side. Green a screen. His first shot attempt. Three-pointer and it falls. Two for three from the field so far. Boy, the ability to stretch the floor of this team is special. And when Draymond Green is converting, turn the lights out. Paul passes to Zubat. The rebound by Post. Golden State has gone two of five from deep. Here’s Green. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws. Now Grant, when you look at Draymond Green’s career, you think he’s going to the Hall of Fame? You know, BA, I believe so. He’s won multiple titles and we know how impactful he has been as a defender and distributor especially. I think we’ll see him in Springfield one day. That one’s off. Bush’s checked in for the Warriors. He comes in for Pimsky. [Applause] And that one falls. That puts him up one point in the game. Now Los Angeles has gone four of nine from beyond the three-point line in this first quarter. Pass to Harden from the ark. Warriors with the rebound. Boy, with his shot not falling right now, it might be time to look in a different direction. See if you can get your teammate started. Bush a screen on Beiel to the inside. Oh, a dunk and a foul. A powerhouse move. He’s got a chance for one more at the line. James Harden picks one up. And this is his first trip to the line tonight. Joseph has checked in for the Warriors. One shot. [Applause] What I like about Chris Bucher is he seems to understand what his team expects from him. They need him to guard. They need him to rebound. And they know how aggressive and assertive he is on the offensive end. Now, here’s Beal. 11 points for him last game against Denver. Yeah. Just hasn’t been able to find his rhythm offensively, and that’s having a ripple effect. Oh, Beal picks his pocket. It’s a one-on-one situation. Jones from outside knocks down the triple. Is there anybody better than Chris Paul at putting the ball on time and on target? Here’s Joseph. Pass to Moody. Minute [Applause] 32 left to play in the first quarter. All right, let’s get a report from Ally. Well, guys, a lot of new developments for the Clippers this season. And obviously, they have the new arena, new designs for their logo, jerseys, and court. Not only that, their G-League team moving into a brand new arena in Oceanside, renewing the San Diego Clippers moniker. Brian, a lot to be excited about for this Clips team. No question. Good stuff, Ally. Thank you. Now, here’s Moody coming off a 12-point game to the paint. Left side healed. Stolen by Harden. Oh, and the fast break for the Clippers and Beal gets it to go on the assist by Harden. Harden’s got three assists now in this one. Well, the speed and athleticism of Bradley Beal on display, streaking out for the early offense. Warriors trail by four. 46 seconds left to play in the first quarter. Inside with the fadeaway rebounded by Lopez. Clean look from mid-range. Coach will probably want to run that play again. Count it. Beal’s got seven points. Boy, when Beal’s effective inside, he can change the tenor of the game for his team. 32 seconds left in the first. Bush outside. Pass to Joseph. To the inside. A shot to stop the run and he takes it up and lays it in. Credit their discipline. They’ve been working for high percentage shots. Harden with it. Give him eight points now. Lopez, a screen on heel. Harden from outside. It doesn’t go for him. James Harden, he’s been the guy making things happen for the Clippers. Eight points in the quarter, showing how effective he can be. And more NBA action on 2K Sports coming your way right after this. And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are. And before we move on, what do you think about what we’ve seen from the Clippers? Simply put, they look totally fearless on the defensive end. Well, very disruptive in that first period. They never allowed the offense to get comfortable. Looking at lineups around the league, Graham, seems like they’re becoming more positionless than ever before. Yeah, you’re spot on, BA. To the point where some people feel allstar voting shouldn’t be by position anymore. It should be by merit. Curry and Heel to the sharp shooting back court. Trace Jackson Davis out there with Chris Buchet. And it’s Moody in at the three slot. That’s the Warriors five. Now here’s Heel. He picked up 18 points in their last win against Utah. Bush against Jones. The kick out to Paul. Pass to Bdonovich. Beal left side over Moody. Beal gets the bucket. Beal’s got nine points. Well, Bradley Beal gets into the mid-range. Let’s remember this is a threelevel score. He will take what you give him. Heel passes to Buché. Moody with it. Missed it. Now 0 for one in this game. Outside Bdonovich over Bucher. Bdonovich. No good. Warriors trail by six. outside heel. The three from Curry. Curry splashes it in. It is indisputable. Not debatable. It’s over. Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter who’s ever lived. Paul with it now guarded by Moody. That one falls and the Clippers lead by five. Good execution. They’re getting some short range looks here. Bush outside up top. Curry. Shot clock at five. Oh, Curry just weaving his way through traffic. Still knocks it in. There is nothing Steph Curry can’t do on the floor. He is a Hall of Famer and right now the defense has got to find a way to get him off balance. The Clippers lead by three. And here’s Paul. [Applause] Quarter two and just under two and a half minutes gone by. Lopez. The screen on Curry. Shot clock at six. Paul shot is off. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in the second quarter. On the wing. Curry. Look at Chef Curry cooking it up inside. They just look so overwhelmed inside. That’s why they continue to get attacked. Los Angeles has got six out of 15 threes so far in this game. And timeout called by Tailoo. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. Come on. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Collins. He’s checked in for the Clippers. And while we have a break, here were some of the top free throw shooters in the game last season. Stephen Curry is second, Bogdan Bogdanovich third. From the free throw line, those two were almost automatic last year. What great assets they are late in the game. Warriors on D. Beal outside. Pass to Paul. Takes a three. That one’s in there on the nice assist from Beal. Paul’s got seven points in the game. Well, Chris Paul by nature wants to pass the ball, but if you leave him open, he understands he’s got to make those shots. Now, here’s Jackson Davis covered by Lopez. Healed from outside. Collins with the rebound. Los Angeles leading by four. Over the last few years, Bradley Beal has had an unfortunate string of injuries. BA, that’s putting it mildly. If you go back to the 2019 season, he hasn’t played more than 60 games since that year. Obviously, when he’s healthy, this is one of the great shooters and ball handling guards in the league. He has the physical stature and ability to be outstanding on the defensive end. It’s just hard watching him get robbed of so many of these prime years. Now, here’s Curry. 15 points in the game. An answer three from Curry. It’s clear there’s a lot of pride on the line in this one. Absolutely. When someone makes a shot, the first thought is I want my own back. Pass to Bdonovich. Be right side. Six to shoot. Tipped and he recovers it. Well, the defense obviously going to cover Bradley Beal tight, but they pay for it right there. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. Free throw drops for Beal. Yeah, Bradley Beal’s versatility at the offensive end. It’s just so valuable. He can shoot it. He can drive it. Make plays for others. And he’s smart. The Clippers making a switch here. Harden’s checked in. So he makes one of two and the second one misses. Well, Bradley Beal is the epitome of being a triple threat. He can drive it, pass it, shoot it. The complete package on the offensive end that defines Bradley Beal. And it’s Paul with the ball for the Clippers, leading by five. Following this one, they host the Trailblazers. It’ll be the first of five games in a row at home. Man, good whistle there. Los Angeles shooting their seventh and eighth attempts at the foul line tonight. But he makes a first. Chris Paul will go down as one of the great floor generals to ever play the game. He is the maestro at orchestrating offense. He’s perfect from the line this time. If you’re a head coach, you love having a guy like Chris Paul around. He’s a coach on the floor for you and helps keep everyone accountable. Now, here’s Pajki. He’s coming off a 13-point game against Utah. And you know, guys, the other thing I really appreciated about his effort in that game was the effort and work on the glass. What a well-rounded performance. Curry against Paul. Pass to Beal. Back to Paul. Three-pointer. That one’s in there on the nice assist from Beal. Beal’s got his third assist of the night and he’s carried them this quarter. A dominant offensive stretch. Warriors trail by seven. Curry looking it over from deep. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Beal’s got four rebounds now. Kicks it out to Collins. A chance to extend the lead to double digits, but it’s no good. The Warriors have gone five of 10 in the second quarter. Outside Moody. Here’s Post. Off target from outside. Los Angeles leading by seven. Pass to Collins. Here’s Harden. [Applause] And it’s out of bounds. The Clippers able to retain possession here and a chance now to look at the schedule for the Golden State Warriors. On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans come to town and that game against the Wizards. That one will be the seventh on the season for them. The team will still be looking to improve each time they take the floor. Greens checked in for the Warriors. Jimmy Butler comes in for Moody. Kawhi Leonard’s checked in for the Clippers. [Applause] Outside Harden [Applause] just five to shoot. Collins with a screen on Curry. Harden can’t hit. No idea why he’s attempting so many outside shots. It’s not his day and he needs to either look to drive or get it to an open teammate. High post Green. Green with a screen on Harden. Back to Green. Golden State needs to get off a shot. It’s stolen by Leonard. [Applause] Pass to Harden. Six on the shot clock. Field left side. Oh, it’s stolen away. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It’s going to be on Bradley Beal. Boy, with his power and explosiveness, when Butler gets inside, it’s typically a bucket, a trip to the line, or sometimes worse, both. shooting two. First free throw is good. Simply stated, Jimmy Butler is a winner and a game changer. This guy will compete on both ends of the floor. Gives you everything he has. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. And the Clippers making a change here as well. Bogdanovich has checked in. and he makes both free throws. Boy, at his best, Jimmy Butler is a versatile scorer inside and outside. But what I will most remember him for, his competitive toughness. Now here’s Collins. Harden with a screen on Green. Back to Harden outside. Bdonovich got a hand on it and they’re able to recover and he comes up with a bucket. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for Golden State. They trail by seven up top. Moody and stolen by Leonard in transition. Here come the Clippers. Here’s Bdonovich and too long on the shot. Golden State has gone three for seven from the perimeter during the second quarter. Oh, the smooth three from Moody. Well, just terrific unselfishness from the veteran forward. Jimmy Butler more than willing to pass if he finds a teammate open. And so here are the Clippers. And timeout called by Tailoo. He’ll take the opportunity to regroup. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. And with a pause in the action, here we have the best rebounding teams from last year. The Warriors number one. Last year, this was a team that owned the paint. They were so committed to rebounding, and that’s a stat you love to lead the league in. Now here’s Bdonovich. He’s closely guarded outside. Harden to the middle. Oh, got a piece of it to the paint. Oh, serious gut check points from Moody. This guy can do so much for you on the offensive end and that is why his number gets called time and time again. The Clippers in the lead. Harden scaling the floor. Pass to Leonard. [Applause] Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Well, Doris, there’s one thing for sure. When Kawhi Leonard is available, he’s the lead. There’s no question about it, Brian. And it’s so difficult to watch a player who cares so deeply about the game as Kawhai does, not have his body hold up. It’s been unfortunate over the years to see the toll injuries have taken on his career, but boy oh boy. clutch, skilled, competitive, tough, every attribute you could want. And the first one at the line is good. Obviously, everyone knows about the defense of Kawhi Leonard, but Grant, his shooting is overlooked. Yeah, you know, he’s at about 40% from three for his career. You combine that with his wing defense, you get a oneofone player capable of carrying a team. [Applause] and Leonard drops them both. I think one thing you love about Kawhi Leonard, this guy never gets too high, never gets too low, but he is the ultimate competitor because he competes at the highest level regardless of the situation. Now, here’s Pachki. Back to Green outside. Pajki let’s go with a three and it’s Harden who pulls down the rebound. Los Angeles leading by four. Leonard outside from the high post and he knocks the jumper down. Leonard’s got four points in the quarter. Well, the mid-range is Kawi’s bread and butter. This guy can get to his spots and take whatever he wants. Green with a screen on Harden. Here’s Pajimski. No good with the triple. And so it’s Leonard who brings up the ball for the LA Clippers. Outside Bdonovich, the 11-footer rebounded by Green. Green’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Outside Moody. Back to Green. A minute 58 left in the second period and Post gets it to go. Well, Green can operate as a point forward. This guy exceptional at breaking down the defenses. His instincts are absolutely phenomenal. On the break, the three is up. Post shot no good. And one of the reasons they’re down right now is because they’ve fallen in love with the jump shot. Here’s Leonard. Collins passes to Lopez. Pulled the shot a little left. The bounce goes his way though. Lopez has got his second bucket of the night. Don’t you love watching Brook Lopez get to that mid-range, stretch the floor with his shooting ability? Really good stuff. Back to Green. 103 left in the second quarter. Jacks up a three. Drops in the three. Post has got 14 points for the game. Lackluster defense showing no desire to chase shooters off that line. Los Angeles has gone three of six from outside in the second quarter. Tries a 10-footer. Nice shot by Harden. And the Clippers lead by four. Well, if it’s James Harden taking the mid-range, I’m fine with it. This guy is a threelevel score. Par excalance. Pass to Pajimsky. Takes it inside. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. outside Harden. Collins a screen over Green. The Warriors pull it in. Post has got four rebounds in the game. Pass to Moody. And here is Green. 4 seconds left. and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. They’ll pin that one on John Collins. This will be his third trip to the free throw line. Shooting two. The first one falls. rebound. And both free throws good for Green. [Applause] Oh, what a performance by Chris Paul. He’s been the story for the Clippers. He put together 10 points in the quarter. Back to the game after this break. [Applause] [Applause] Taking a look at Los Angeles, you can already see they have the makings of a good team, but they also have things to iron out. splitting the first two games. This next one could indicate which direction they’re headed. And let’s get into this first half. A super close game for the Clippers so far. Depth has been the key for them so far. They’ve gotten a nice spark from their second unit, especially at the offensive end, and they’ve needed every bit of that bench production. It’s been the difference. That’s it for us. Thanks for tuning in. Now, let’s send you over to Brian Anderson with the third period. And after a fairly even first couple of quarters, this second half could turn out to be a great one as both teams trying to gain an edge. Stephen Curry having a dominant impact in this game. He’s hit shot after shot from deep. He’s so locked in right now. Well, he’s in a great rhythm, looking comfortable and confident. The Clippers in the lead. And so in the game for Los Angeles, we’ve got Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beals out there with James Harden. Then there’s John Collins, and it’s Zumat in at the five. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Ally Leforce. Jimmy Butler’s such an all-around player. He said, “I don’t need to be a 40point scorer. My role is to impact winning. I just control what I can control in the end, play the right way, stay aggressive, and do whatever it takes to get my team the win.” And Brian, he is good at his job. Well, playoff Jimmy is a real thing whether he’ll admit it or not. Here’s Harden following the score by Golden State. Pass to Zubots. Be surveying the D. Six to shoot. Back to Zubots. That one’s in there on the nice assist from Beal. Be’s got four assists now tonight. So strong. So tough. He beats a Zubots, absorbs the contact and goes right through it. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for Golden State. They’ll be playing host to New Orleans for their next one. It’ll be the second of three straight games on their home floor. Here’s Post. Good. Eight puckets in 12 attempts. The Clippers shooting about 47%. A nice number. Pass to Zubox. Leonard for three. Count it. Leonard for three. So why all business right now? Defense better get started. It’s going to be a long night. Outside Pajki. Now here’s Curry from deep. Collins with the rebound. Harden with it. Now guarded by Curry. Unloads and there’s another one for the Clippers. How about the incredible handle from James Harden? That ball is on the string. So crafty. The defense has no chance. Puts up a three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Well, they are daring him to miss and he obliges. Wow. Potent offense. It’s been fun to watch. Just aggressive and effective. Taking it right to the defense. No good from outside. Warriors trail by five. Here’s the pick. Down low. Here’s Post. Oh, the lead pass was in the perfect spot to set up the layup. Post has got 20. The defense couldn’t collapse quickly enough. Not quite two and a half minutes played here in the second half. And he lobbs it up to the rim. Left side. Green. Oh, Beal picks his pocket. Pass to Leonard. Beal outside. 11footer. And that one falls. His fifth basket in seven tries. I tell you, when Bradley Beal is cooking, folks, the energy he brings is infectious. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. And we might see some changes. Coach potentially looking to adjust. [Applause] And here’s a look at the top shooters last season. No wasted chances among this group. David Subot’s third. So consistent from the floor. He shot it at a great clip last season. Green against Collins from the line. Here’s Post and the rebound paying off as they pick up two on the second chance bucket right there. The defense getting out hustled on the putback. Can’t let that happen. You have got to put a body on somebody. We talk about it ad nauseium, but you’ve got to be disciplined with the box out. Warriors trail by three. Throws it up high and he lays in the alley pass. Nice touch on both ends of that alley. Hey, when he let go of the pass, I had no idea what he was going for. We’ve gone about three and a half minutes here into the third. Harden the pass to Collins. [Applause] Rebounded by Green. Green’s got his seventh rebound here tonight. His offensive output just isn’t there tonight, but his teammates have found a way to pick up a slack. And it’s Beal with the ball for the Clippers to the paint. and Collins with the slam. Just tremendous recognition from Collins there. Sees an opportunity to be a target at the rim and his teammate puts it on time. [Applause] Golden State has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. Curry passes to Green. There’s a screen. Pick it up. And he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. How good is Green at drawing solid contact? He plays with a ton of heart. He’s really good at making the defense commit. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Clippers. What a performance for beyond the arc in this game. They stuck to their guns and it’s paid off all game. I think one of the things that also strikes me is their activity forcing turnovers, coming up with steals. It has really shaped the tenor of this game. And both free throws good for Green. [Applause] The Clippers have gone five for nine from the floor in the third quarter. Here’s Beal. Rebounded by Green. And it didn’t fall, but still a great look. You know, it can be frustrating when you make the right play and fail to reap the rewards. You just have to stay with it here. Now, here’s Curry. 21 points in the game. That puts him in the lead. Curry’s got 24. He drops yet another dive. just facilitating this offense like a maestro. Harden against Curry. Leonard on the wing. [Applause] Five on the clock. Well, you look at Kawhai’s career. One of the first things he did was work on his consistency from the free throw line. Why? because he’s excellent at drawing contact. And this will be his third and fourth free throws of the game here. Shooting two. The first free throw is good. Watching Kawawaii enter the league as a lockown defender and now become an all-around champion. Boy, what a career he has had. And Leonard drops them both. Now here’s Green. He’s got 12. [Applause] Outside. Curry. It’s rebounded by Zubox. Zubox has got six rebounds now in the game. Deal with it. Now Pajinsky defending. Took the opportunity when he saw it. Harden’s got five points in the quarter. Everybody knows that corner three is one of the easier three-point shots. That’s just slightly closer in. James Harden doesn’t need a whole lot more than that. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. Coach wants to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. [Applause] Moody’s He’s checked in for Green. [Applause] Warriors trail by three. To the middle. Here’s Post. Uses the glass on the layup. Post has got 12 points in just the second half. [Applause] And here’s Harden. He’ll bring it up for the Clippers. Beal outside. Back to Harden. [Applause] Leonard on the wing. Harden the open look and it falls all over the rim and in. Harden’s got 17. Well, the mechanics of James Harden’s shooting are just so defined and on point. He gets the ball and he’s ready to shoot right away. Doris, looking back at James Harden’s time in Houston, what an incredible individual run he went on. Come on, Brian. finished in the top three in MVP voting five times with the Rockets. Came so close to getting to an NBA finals. He’s still beloved in the city of Houston. Now, Kawhi Leonard consistently efficient with his scoring ability. Nice jumper. The Warriors trailing [Applause] now. Pajimki yet to see a basket and the call will be against James Harden. That’ll be his second foul of the game. And Los Angeles making a change here. Paul’s checked in. Come get it. Come get it. Now here’s Moody. Pounded by Beal. Good on the bucket. Post has got 28. Well, they’re not behind because of this guy. He is putting on a tremendous run. Los Angeles leading by three. Here’s Beal. 12 points for him. Free throw line jumper. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Post has got rebound number seven tonight. And out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. Here’s Paul. [Applause] [Applause] pass to Harden. Beal left side. It’s tipped. Moody with it. He’s got five now. Pajimki outside. Curry. Here’s Post. And it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. And it’s now only a one-point Clipper lead. Well, this is what makes Steph Curry so difficult to defend, right? A sharp passer on top of everything else he brings in terms of his scoring ability. Here’s Paul. Leonard outside. [Applause] Harden. This one for three. Gets the three ball to go. Harden’s got 10 points now just in this quarter. You can see it. He’s taking better shots and the results are coming because of it. To the inside. It’s tipped. Zubots with the steel outside. Harden. Leonard outside. And looking at second chance points last year, here were the teams that did the most damage on the offensive glass. Fifth on the list, the Warriors. This is a hustle stat. This team pounded the offensive glass and it shows in their numbers from last year. Shooting two. [Applause] No good on that one. Jackson Davis has checked in for the Warriors. Buché comes in for Jimmy Butler. And he’s good on the second. Warriors trail by five outside. Curry [Applause] and the foul is called. He missed it. So he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. Well, Curry, despite his frame, is able to do a ton of damage inside the paint. He can draw fouls with great regularity. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. [Applause] And so Curry nails both of them. And we’ve seen some good free throw shooting in the second half. Los Angeles leading by three. Leonard outside pass to Zubots. Harden with it. The three is up. Connects from downtown. Harden’s got 13 in the second half. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the arc right now. You see his confidence and I think the defender knows once he gets cooking, look out. The bucket looks awfully big to him right now. Now here’s Pajki. No points so far. Oh, Curry showing off the range. Boy, picking up where he left off. His second from distance this half. Five overall. Here’s Paul [Applause] outside. Harden. [Applause] Curry against Paul. Leonard for three. Yes. And it’s Paul with the assist that time. Paul’s got three assists in the game. They’re getting torched on the perimeter. Four of the last five buckets have been threes. Now here’s Pajki. Pass to Moody. Fires the three. Curry no good. And so it’s Leonard with it. He’ll bring it up for the LA Clippers. Six-point game over Buché. Outside Paul Harden with a screen on Curry releases. Pajimsky grabs the board. Golden State has gone two of six from downtown here in the second half. Booty good. You simply must play better defense than that. This guy is too good from distance. Here’s Paul. 12 points for him. Up top, Zubots. Back to Paul. Pass to Leonard. Because Kawawaii Leonard has such a well-rounded offensive game, it’s easy for him to put the defense in a bad position. Draws contact there. This will make four trips to the line so far in this game. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] He’s off on the first and the Warriors making a switch here. Heels checked in. Brook Lopez is checked in for the Clippers. Pogdanovich comes in for Harden. and he sinks the second. You know, seeing an uptick in his trips to the free throw line really since we came out of the half. Heel against Beal. Pass to Curry for three. The Clippers grab the miss. Beal’s got six rebounds in the game. Leonard on the wing. 102 left in the third quarter. Five to shoot. The 15-footer and he hits the jumper for two. Leonard’s got 14 points now in the second half. We’ve seen this script before. Kawi Leonard starts early and continues throughout the course of the night. Defense is in for a long haul. Pass to Moody. And here’s Jackson Davis. Covered by Lopez. Bush against Leonard. Buché passes to Heel. There’s the triple. Drills it from deep. Heels’s gotten himself going with a triple. His first basket of the game. We all know this guy is a volume three-point shooter. Mr. Heel does not lack for confidence. Leonard for three. And the rebound goes to the Warriors outside. Curry for the tie. No good. James Harden. He’s been the guy making things happen for the Clippers. He’s found his range, hitting three triples in the quarter. We’ll be right back after this word. And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. Woo! I’m fired up to see this dish one more time. It’s always great to see your two guards share the wealth. You love the unselfishness, finding the best look, and it doesn’t matter who’s taking it. Well, what a terrific game it’s been so far, but this fourth quarter sure to bring more pressure packed basketball. Curry and heel to the sharp shooting back court. Moses Moody out there with Chris Bucher. And it’s Jackson Davis in at the five down low. That’s the Warriors five. And with plenty of time left, that’s his fourth foul. He needs to stay cognizant of that moving forward. Clippers on D. three-point lead. Bush outside, the three from Curry hits the trifecta. Curry’s got 32 points in the game. Ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line, but folks, it is not as easy as you might think. Outside, Harden. Lopez, the screen on heel, fires from deep and that one’s good. Harden for three. Harden’s got 26 points. He hit a couple from range in the first half, but now his confidence is through the roof. [Applause] Harden against Heel. Inside. Here’s Curry. Rebounded by Lopez. Lopez has got a rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Collins. Now here’s Lopez covered by Buché. The kick out to Paul from behind the ark and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Paul. Listen, turnovers happen. You’ve got to move on to the next play. Warriors trail by three. Bush with it. Collins defending outside heel beyond the arc. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Lopez has got six rebounds here tonight. Paul against Curry. Here’s Lopez. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. The Warriors have gotten just one shot to fall out of three attempts in the fourth. And that’s a foul called on Stephen Curry. That’s his first foul. And great job to establish position and square up. Curry against Paul. puts it up from 15. Will not go. Misses off the front iron. Lopez with the steel. Two minutes gone by here in the fourth to the paint. Oh, deflected in transition. Here come the Warriors. Bush against Harden. Now here’s Jackson Davis. Not a lot of room. Just five on the clock. Lets a three fly and it’s Harden who pulls down the rebound. Los Angeles leading by three. Pass to Paul. Collins outside now by Donovich. Guarded by Heel and Harden gets the double team. Paul for three. Yes. And a nice assist from Harden. Harden’s got four assists in the game. Well, Chris Paul as efficient a shooter as you’ll find. And in the catch and shoot situation, he is money. Now here’s Moody. Healed on the wing, defended by Harden. Moody from outside. It’s hauled in by the Clippers. Outside Paul Lopez the screen on Curry on the wing. Harden over heel and there’s another one for the Clippers. Well, at this point, James Harden has put his imprint all over this basketball game and the defense better find a way to figure him out soon. Now, here’s Curry. Pass to Jackson Davis. [Applause] Bush right side. Here’s Heel to get back on track. Nails it from beyond the arc. If you look at the active three-point percentage list, Mr. Buddy Heield is near the top. This guy is the very definition of sharp shooter. Curry against Paul outside. Harden, the three, and it’s Bush with the rebound. Bush’s got four rebounds now. Field passes to Curry and he loss it up. Well, there’s evidence all over the floor of how well Stephen Curry runs this team. He does a good job keeping them at their pace and making all the right decisions. Here’s Paul. [Applause] Lopez. The screen on Curry. Paul for three. The rebound by Moody. Moody’s got four rebounds in the game. Harden against Heel. Jackson Davis’s screen to tie it up. Another three for Golden State. Wow. Buddy He usually the guy they’re trying to create open shots for. This time he returns the favor. And it’s Paul with the ball for the Clippers. Pass to Harden. [Applause] Deflected and it’s out of bounds to the Clippers as the Clippers retain possession. Pajimski’s checked in for the Warriors. [Applause] Beal finds Leonard over Moody and there’s Leonard on the assist by Beal. Beal’s got his seventh assist here tonight. This guy has such a nose for the basket. Kawhi Leonard not afraid to let it fly on the catch. The Warriors have got four of eight shots to drop here in this final quarter. Uh a screen on Paul. The three from Curry. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Zubots has got rebound number eight here already in the game. Here’s Paul. Oh, rejected by Buché. Well, that’s the 6’9 frame of Chris Bucher. Send it back. Young sir Moody from outside. It’s hauled in by the Clippers. Zubox has got rebound number nine now. What an effort here tonight. Pass to Beal. Leonard on the wing. Moody defends. Oh, he picked him clean. The put back. Oh, look at the hustle. Moody with the strong finish. And guys, what do you think about the hustle stats for the Warriors? Well, their D has been a major story tonight. I mean, those steals and putting pressure on the ball, clogging the passing lanes, impressive. They’ve also been scoring on the break with how difficult it is to get buckets in the half court. Anytime you can push the ball in transition for easy ones, that’s big time. Now, here’s Curry to take the lead. Gets the three to fall. And now a three-point Warrior lead. The defense is nowhere to be found. Guarding the three-point shot. Los Angeles has got two of five threes to go here in the fourth. Pass to Zubox. Leonard on the wing. Tried to come right back with a three of his own, but it’s no good. Curry with it and it’s Paul picking him up and again it’s Golden State. Their interior D continues to look shaky. Not a good matchup for them right now. And timeout called by Tailoo. He wants to make sure everyone is aligned given the situation right now. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] James Harden, he’s checked in for Paul. Time now to hear from our reporter, Ally Leforce. During that last break, Coach Tyron Lou had some advice for the team. And it wasn’t a very happy huddle. Coach told the team, quote, “We need to be better with the ball. We’re committing too many turnovers. It’s hurting us.” Back over to you, Brian and Ally. Thanks. Clippers trail by five. And here’s Beal. Collins outside. [Applause] Now here’s Beal defended by Pajki. Here’s Zubots and it’s slammed in by Zubots. Terrific handle right there by Beal. Comes off the pick with his head up looking for his teammates. And the Warriors with possession. They’re on a 15-4 run. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. James Harden picks one up. And he drops a first and really strong at the line since the break. No good on the second free throw. You know, he may be kicking himself for that one miss, but establishing the two possession lead was key. Knocks it down from distance. Well, after netting one in the first half, that’s the second deep ball to go down for this guy. Now, here’s Curry. [Applause] fades back. Leonard pulls down the board. Trying to close out. You got to know who’s hot and who’s not. And there’s another one for the Clippers. Shooting off the dribble is probably one of the toughest skills in the NBA, but Kawaii has it mastered. Outside Curry. Green with a screen on Harden. the three ball. Jimmy Buckets with the tray and looking to shoot as many threes as possible. This kind of confidence impressive to see. Beal outside. There’s a screen and Los Angeles. Another three. No one better to answer with a three ball than Mr. Bradley Beal. Curry against Harden and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. James Harden picks one up. [Applause] And that one falls for Curry. [Applause] And so Curry nails both of them. And Harden’s got the ball here for Los Angeles. [Applause] goes up and lays it in nice and easy. Be’s got 20. You can see it once this guy gets his rhythm. He is so hard to slow down. What an excellent night for him and his team. The Warriors have gotten eight of 16 attempted shots to go here in the fourth. [Applause] Harden against Curry outside for Green. Pass to Curry. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Well, Stephen Curry has always been able to draw contact, but now he’s so physically strong that he’s able to absorb it better. [Applause] And that one falls for Curry. [Applause] [Applause] And so Curry nails both of them. The Clippers trail. Harden. The pass to Zubox. Back to Harden. 43. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Yeah. And the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean, he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line. Pass to Pajimsky to the inside. Green. Here’s Post and that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Green’s got his seventh assist of the game with that last one. Outside Harden. [Applause] 151 left to play in the fourth quarter. They get it back. Zubac passes to Collins and another shot. Zubat shot is off. The Warriors lead by three. Back to Pajki. Pass to Curry. There’s the three. The Clippers grab the miss. Zubox has got rebound number 13 for him here tonight. Here’s Leonard. And they cash it in right away with a quick shot. Leonard’s got 29. Well, Kawhai Leonard has been in so many big time situations. How confident is he right there? Curry against Harden. The shot misses the jumper. Well, Los Angeles shooting about 48% from the floor. Pretty good. Be finds Collins. Curry against Harden over Curry and it’s in. Big time shot sending his teammates into a frenzy. I’ll tell you, these guys have worked so hard together. Everyone pulling in the same direction. Beautiful to watch. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. There is a lot on the line and he is determined to make sure everyone’s on the same page. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Curry from deep three-point land. Laces one from three. Steph Curry so cool under pressure. Big moment. No matter. He’s ready. And Ty Louu has called a timeout. And coach didn’t want to take any chances in this situation, which is why he called the to0. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] There’s 47 seconds left to play in the fourth. Well, if you need a bucket, there’s no guy you probably want more than James Harden doing his thing. Ball on the spring, you need to score it. No problem. And so it’s Golden State with it. Now here’s Curry. Pulls up on the wing. Count it. Big sequence there, guys. Curry takes it upon himself to take and make the big bucket. So, it’s Los Angeles now and Tyoo has called a timeout. Great time to call his guys into the huddle at a very tense moment in this game. All right, guys. How do you see him managing the next possession? This is where your coaching is so important. They need a really good play now. Well, this is a chance to take the lead. So, you’ve got to draw the play to make it happen. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Zubot passes to Harden. [Applause] We’ve got 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Leonard outside. Second shot opportunity. Can’t cash it in. Well, Kawawaii has become one of the smartest offensive players in the game. Understanding use of a shot fake and what it can give you. Oh, he knocks down the clutch free throw. and so he’s good on both free throws and that gives him a lead. You must embrace the pressure and knock down critical free throws. Nicely done. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. The pressure is on and he’s got a plan to share with his guys. Obviously, not a lot of time to work with. What do you guys think we’re going to see? It’s always interesting to see what play a coach has saved for a situation like this. What you want is to create a clean, high percentage look, if that’s at all possible. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] We’ve got 13 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter now. Curry. Oh, off target. I don’t mind that. I mean, they met him at the rim and temporarily prevented the points. Yeah, too bad he fouled out, but this team does have some depth at this position. [Applause] So, the first one drops and that ties this game up. [Applause] And so he’s good on both free throws and that gives him a lead. Here’s Leonard. They could win it. Oh, that shot had a chance, but the all or nothing shot attempt is off the mark. And so the big win by Golden State in a tight game. That was an incredible night of hoops. A tremendous finish. They waited until the very last moment to seal it. And so many times we see these close games won by the home team. All right, now let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Ally, what do you have? Thanks a lot, guys. Draymond, congratulations on this win. What did you like best about your effort tonight? Uh, offensively, our rhythm was good except, you know, we had some bad turnovers. If we could have completed goals, it would have been really good. But overall, I think we all had it going. Good night. You made up for it in other ways. Congrats on the win, Ally. Thank you as always. And that’s going to do it tonight, folks, for our broadcast for Alli Leforce, Grant Hill, and Dorisburg. This is Brian Anderson. Thank you for watching tonight’s game.
