Houston Rockets Sign JD Davison My Thoughts!!
You also want to guys this Houston sports talk back into the video day and the Houston Rockets have signed champion JD Davidson uh from the Boston Celtics. A lot of pressure is going to be on JD Davidson um this year and especially if he can stay with the Houston Rockets. The 22-year-old who’s been in the league for three seasons going to his fourth season and is why why I say he’s going to be in a lot of pressure is because he is he is in his last year of eligibility of being a two-way contract player. I don’t know how many people know this, but you can’t if you’re if you’re over, you know, four years of experience in the NBA, you cannot be on a two-way contract, you know, you you have to, you know, the only way you can play in the league. Um yeah, I guess he, you know, he could get opport he could get opportunities, um going into training camp and preseason, uh you know, after this year, you know, after he plays his, you know, fifth year or fourth year of experience, he can get opportunities on an exhibit 10 deal after um after that, but he can’t sign a two-way contract after after uh this season if he does play with the Houston Rockets or anybody else. and he’s done great in the G-League. Like, he’s been phenomenal in the G-League. Averaged 25 points per game and five rebounds per game with eight assists per game in the G-League. Um, you know, he was a second round pick in 2022, 53rd overall, by the way. Um, and he’s he’s played sol not solid minutes, but he’s played a little bit with the Boston Celtics, you know, in the last three years in his 2024 25 season, 16 games, averaged two points per game. two points per game in the 2023 24 season in eight games. But remember, he’s not playing that much. He has never reached 6 minutes per game in a season of his career. Um, you can look at his total minutes like he’s not even played 200 minutes in his career. Only 93 minutes this year, 39 23-24 season. You he’s only got 65 shot attempts up in his career as well. Um, but the Rockets signing him to this two-way contract. Um, they definitely have a couple they had a couple spots open. They signed Isaiah Crawford and JD Davidson. Isaiah Crawford who spent some time with the Sacramento Kings and so I I I think with them having the two-way contract spots open. I definitely don’t mind them picking up JD Davidson and Isaiah Crawford. Jack McVey is a guy who um the Rockets decided not to resign and you know did not not to extend the qualifying offer of of you know of um Jack McVey. Nfalli Dante is a guy who looks like he’ll still be on a two-way on a two-way contract for the Rockets next season. But David Rody was involved in the Kevin Durant trade being sent to Atlanta, a part of the Clint Capella signing trade that also sent, you know, Kevin Durant to the Rockets in that huge trade. David Rody was one of the Rockets two-way the three two-way contract players for the Rockets at the end of the season. You had David Rody, he’s been traded and waved. Now is a Toronto Raptor. Nfali Dante is still a guy who will be a candidate for a two-way contract spot for the Rockets. and Jack McVey is very unlikely to resign with the Rockets um since the Rockets did not extend the qualifying offer. So um with that being said, two of the three guys being gone, there were spots open and the Rockets signed JDavidson and Isaiah Crawford definitely not mad at those signings for the Houston Rockets.
