I Can No Longer Hide My Feelings… (You Might Unsubscribe)

What y’all think? Bring back Hassan Whitide. Wake up count. What did you just say? Who is this guy? Who is that guy? Who do you think it is? Michael Jordan. Close enough. If y’all are still here after that intro, then you truly are goated and I appreciate you. But welcome to the end of July, the time of the off season where we’re allowed to talk about things that will never happen. And in this case, something that nobody wants to happen. Well, besides me, of course. Once in a while, you know, I’ll post a video that somebody doesn’t like, which is fine. I do appreciate the comments telling me that or telling me a reason they didn’t like a video. That’s completely fine. But sometimes I’ll get these comments of people saying, “What was the point of this video?” And my answer to that is the same reason that I post any video. And it’s because I enjoyed making it. I think that’s very important when becoming a YouTuber. You should always post content that makes you happy because then you’re more likely to put maximum effort into that content and continue uploading consistently, which are two things very important to becoming successful on YouTube. And I’ve been fortunate enough that a lot of people enjoy the content that I also enjoy making. So, I do thank y’all for that. And if you do enjoy, make sure that you liked and subscribed. Although all those people that do enjoy my content, they might not enjoy this one because today I want to talk about Hassan Whiteside and my true thoughts on him. Of course, the topic of Hassan Whiteside has been trending on Twitter a little bit recently since he played in the Miami Pro League just a couple of days ago, and the photos of him looking swole as hell have been going pretty viral. Now, his monster physique was not super surprising to me because I remember seeing clips from him in Puerto Rico last year where he was absolutely feasting and it made me happy to see because many of y’all know to this day I still proudly rep my Hassan Whiteside fandom. I I meant to put on my Hassan Whitide shirt. I forgot before I was recording, but I got two of them. I got one of him dunking. I got the the Hassan Whiteside jersey, which is a nasty statement to say, but yes, I do own one. And that’s because I still like Hassan Whiteside to this day. Truthfully, he’s one of, if not my favorite Miami Heat player of all time. As crazy as that is to say, I will acknowledge that. And I want to make it very clear, you cannot tell me anything about Hassan Whiteside’s personality that I don’t already know. I am not ignorant to the negatives associated with him. He was a stat chasing non-team player who didn’t show the same effort after he got that max contract and then he pouted on the bench after he was subbed out late in games. I’m not denying or excusing any of that, but I cannot disregard the happiness that he brought me as a fan for the first several years that he was here. to have this guy come out of literally nowhere and all of a sudden dominate the way he did I thought was just the coolest thing. I remember I went to a game in early January of 2025 and Whiteside checked in and I remember thinking, “Oh yeah, that’s the new guy. You know, he’s played well in some garbage time games recently.” And the game that I went to versus the Nets, Whiteside ended up finishing with a double double and five blocks. And I I swear I remember thinking at the time, “Wow, this guy’s not so bad. He may actually be an NBA rotation player in this league, you know, one day. May maybe he could be a decent bench player one day.” Well, not even two games later, he had 23 and 16 verse the Clippers and looked absolutely unstoppable. It was lob after lob blocking everything, dunking on everybody’s head. And I’m thinking, “Wow, that was a fun game by Whiteside. You might never get anything like that again.” And then a week later, he had a triple double versus the Chicago Bulls, the famous or infamous, depending on how you look at it. Uh, I’m just trying to get my 2K rating up game. And I thought that postgame after getting a triple double was hilarious because remember, I was a kid in high school at the time. That’s back when I was playing 2K every single day. So to hear this guy dominate and say he wants to get his 2K rating up, I thought that was absolutely hilarious. And then the dominating performances, it’s not like they stopped there. It was literally a week later he had the first of his many 2020 games. That’s 20 point 20 rebounds. If you ask the Whiteside, he was calling them Barbara Walters because it was 2020. That that’s hilarious. And also I never really seen anything like that. just to dominate the glass the way he did. And you think about all the other oncourt moments, the multiple triple doubles in his career. They ain’t doing it with blocks. You You remember that? This dude was consistently getting triple doubles with blocks. I had never seen anything like it. He even had one that I’ll never forget. It was vers a young Noola Jokic in the Denver Nuggets where Whiteside dominated and literally carried the heat to a win in Denver. And then you think about the multiple nasty chase down or snatch blocks that he had. You remember the one verse Seakum. You remember the one verse the Jazz. He had one verse the the Hornets to seal the game and also seal his triple double. These are individual blocks that to this day I still remember. And those are just a handful of plays out of the many. But he was just so exciting to watch on the defensive end because anytime an opposing player sniffed the paint, Whites Sai would be sitting in there to say, “Get that ball out of here, man.” How can you not love the the effort that he brought on the defensive end just scaring the hell out of guys inside the paint? Uh I used to say he would get hot blocking shots the way other guys would shooting threes. You know, we all know what it looks like when when a shooter gets hot, you get two, three threes in a row. Whitesai used to get three, four, five blocks in a row. Who was doing that? I I I never seen anything like it uh in my entire life. Uh and then one day, you know, the offensive game, it just took a leap. I remember he started hitting fadeaways verse Boston in Boston. He came into the 2017 season. First game of the year, cast a three-pointer. Second game of the year, cashed another three-pointer. He was two for two on the season. I’m thinking we’re about to get the stretch five breakout season. Then he didn’t shoot a three for the rest of the season, but he he he did shoot uh two or two from three that year. But point is he was a guy that really started doing a lot out there out of nowhere. And I thought it was just the the coolest thing to watch. And I I thought it was super fun. Uh and I I thought his story obviously was was really inspirational, you know, to be uh around, you know, bounced out of the league and to bounce around in Europe for several years and then to work your ass off to get in shape and then to come uh and dominate the way he did. How can you not find his story inspirational? You know, plus part of me did always believe that Spo really didn’t let him off the leash enough. You know, we just talked about that 2017 season, started two or two from three, and then Spo never let him shoot again. I’m not saying he should have taken a three a game, but maybe a couple threes a week, something. Let the big guy loose. I always felt like Spo should have maybe gave him some post touches. I know Whiteside didn’t have the best hands, but he had incredible touch around the rim. I thought he had a very nice jump hook out of the post. The problem is they never ran any post up touches for him. And I know that’s when the league was transitioning sort of out of post players, but still I thought Whiteside had the size uh and and touch on that jump hook that he should have at least been getting five to six post-ups a game and Sper just refused to give him any like at all. Uh so I understood Whitide’s frustration at times. However, I did not agree with the way that he handled it. And even then, you know, Whiteside was actually pretty good the year after he got his max contract. Uh he actually averaged 17 points per game and led the league in rebounds with 14 and played 77 games. So he was very very available. It wasn’t until that next year where things kind of went sour. So people forget that like Whiteside was good after he got paid just for a year and then you know things went bad which coincidentally enough the year that things started going south was actually Bam Bile’s first year in the league and I think the Heat kind of knew early on that yeah Bam was going to be their big man of the future not Tassan Whiteside then of course Assan Whitide went to Portland he was in the car yelling we got shooters and I remember too I actually went to the Heat game Whiteside’s first game back when he was with the Trailblazers. The whole crowd was chanting, “We got shooters.” It was actually really funny. Uh, but I remember during the player intros, every single person in that stadium booed us on Whitide except for me. And number 21, Assan Wood, [Applause] bro. It was all boos, bro. They don’t They don’t respect White Side like I do, bro. I also remember the day that he got traded. I think at this point we already knew Jimmy was coming here which I was thrilled about. I loved Jimmy, you know, Butler at all his previous stops. Uh but then I think the framework ended up getting, you know, official where we knew they were going to send us on Whitide cuz if you remember at first the Heat were going to trade Dragic, but then the Mavs some confusion there. I don’t know who remembers. But it eventually got confirmed that Whitide was going to be shipped out. And I remember I got a bunch of texts that day of people basically saying they’re sorry for me because they knew how much I liked this on Whitide. I remember screenshotting that and I actually was able to find that photo uh saved in my Google photos. Uh so y’all can see those text here. Uh ignore the the names the or the name of that group chat up up top. Uh cuz we like to have some fun just like Assan Whitide. You know, think about all the funny moments off the court. You had the OGs, you know, it was a little koiish pond from Snapchat. You had the ready R knots typo. You had uh him zooming around the locker room with Josh Richardson recorded. What a funny guy. That that was my guy. Uh for real, man. I I even thought it was funny the one time he beat up Alex Len. Do y’all remember that? It was one game verse Phoenix where Whites Side was dominating Alex Len. Uh and then Len got mad. He shoved this on Whit side and then Whiteside came in, boom, dropped his ass, tackled him to the ground with textbook Jason Taylor form. So, and then the funny part, the off the court part is the next day it was announced that Alex Len got a bigger fine than Hassan Whiteside. So, Whiteside dominated Alex Len on the courts. He bust his ass once they got to the scuffle and then he got the smaller fine. I just thought that that was funny, too. I don’t I could go on and on about all the greatest Assan Whites Side moments. I made multiple graphics of him back in the day. Uh I once made a 2K cover, you know, a fake 2K cover back in 2015 that went a little viral cuz I remember Ronnie 2K retweeted it back in the day. That got me very excited. Uh, and then as a lot as a lot of y’all know, uh, in my childhood home, uh, back in in Davey, you know, where I grew up, I still have my big three poster hanging, except back in the day, I covered up the picture of LeBron with a picture of Assan Whitide. And if y’all have seen any of my videos when I record, you know, when I’m back in town, back back home over there. Uh, y’all will have seen that poster where Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosch, and Assan Whit side all all next to each other. Honestly, I’d love to see the Miami Heat bring us on Whitide back. I know he officially retired from the NBA last year, but you can always come out of retirement. You know, he’s clearly in tremendous shape still. He’s only about a year older than Nola Vousvich, who I know a lot of Heat fans, uh, including myself, are indeed interested in. And I do think Assan Whiteside can still do what the Miami Heat need, which is be big. You know, be a actually big backup defensive center and he can rebound. I still think he can do both of those things. and you can’t convince me that he would be that he wouldn’t be a decent backup center. I know I’ve been saying a lot recently that I value heat culture and I want to bring that back and Whiteside admittedly was not the most heat culture guy, but I don’t think he was as bad as people think. I mean, it was really cool for me to see Whiteside on the OG’s podcast just like a month or so ago, which of course is the podcast with Udonis Hasslam and Mike Miller. They had a great discussion and you can tell not not just because they invited Whit Side on their podcast but also the way they spoke to him. Whit uh UD and Mike Miller they were fans of Assan Whit side and they still are and you know UD is not going to mess with you if you some lazy bum that’s like the type of person that he despises most. So the fact they were able to still have a relationship come on the podcast uh you know that kind of tells me what I need to know about Hassan Whitide behind the scenes is that he actually wasn’t a bad dude. You know, even on those photos of Assan Whitide looking jacked in Miami Pro from just a couple days ago, I saw Udonis Hamm liked all of those posts as well. So, if you got the respect of UD, you certainly got the respect of me. I also remember Hassan Whiteside was actually at D. Wade’s statue unveiling just a year ago. So, very clearly Hassan Whiteside is still around the organization. They will never give him another shot, but I’d be absolutely thrilled if they did. But let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below. Or don’t because I’m sure I’m the only one that would like Whit Side back. But hey, we all know there was at least some good time. So maybe drop some of your favorite Whites Side memories or plays down below. Uh cuz I’m very curious to hear what y’all think and we could reminisce together. Make sure y’all like the video and subscribe. I’m on the grind to hit 9,000 subs and I’ll see y’all in the next video. Peace out, everyone. Pull up in your city trying to get that dead face. Do it on my own. I don’t need no dead weight. Had to kill them off. Yeah, I need a head space. You know this homegrown don’t a fan.

Discussing Hassan Whiteside and why the Miami Heat should bring him back. He was recently seen in the Miami Pro League looking in excellent shape, ready for an NBA comeback. I think he could be the perfect backup center for the Miami Heat. 1. Yes, bring him Whitetside back! If he gets another chance to play for the Heat, he will do things better and have something to prove to the fans.

  2. 8:00 it was because he was a black hole.. dump the ball down, and it’s drop step, spin.. and never passing it back out, lol.. dope video btw

  3. I always loved Whiteside, I have a jersey in my closet and I’d be pumped if we brought him back!

Whiteside gave us some exciting moments in some years where we didn’t have much going on. Sometimes we are too hard on our guys.

  4. I would 100% take Hassan back. So many great memories of Whiteside. That DWade lob to Hassan against the Lakers, for the game, was a beauty. BTW, You got it backwards. I just subbed. #BringBackHassan

  5. been watching you for a minute. i’ve commented before that your effort is very apparent in each video.

unsolicited advice: keep cranking the short form content. your reels were outperforming these longer form videos

maybe do 1-3 videos a week semi heat related, or just general NBA news. there’s a ton of market share for you to capture with your discipline, effort, and style.

keep up the great work, just want to see you win

  6. You missed a good story: What about that one time in practice he called James Johnson a “female dog” and then got his ass whooped in the locker room…😅 I’m 95% sure from all the hints over the years it is him they always talk about getting that whooping.

  7. Loved Whiteside too amigo. Thundering Herd from Marshall. "Ain't nobody getting triple doubles with blocks!" Loved that one time he got the ball (or stole it don't remember) on a fastbreak and cradled the ball like Dr. J and slammed it. But the main reason I am a critic of Dragic till this day was because he couldn't lob the ball to Whiteside. And some people have the nerve to blame Whiteside. Dragic would triangulate a pass to Whiteside when all he had to do was lob it over the defender and rarely did it. I always thought Dragic was sabotaging Hassan. It's just Dragic was a bad lobber. There were times I could hear Hassan yelling "pass the ball" when cutting to the basket. And he was wide open. I always wished Hassan could have played with Wade in his prime. Cause like what we saw with an older Shaq, Wade always delivered the ball with pin point precision. I will always be a fan of Whiteside so don't be ashamed. Great job. ✊✌️🔥
