Imagine if Hayward never got hurt… who would Tatum be today? 👀 #jaysontatum #bostonceltics

He had thoughts back then that he would want to be traded because he didn’t think he was going to get any run coming after you. I get drafted. Gordon Hayward signed with the Celtics. I called my agent like, “Yo, I got to get traded. I didn’t get drafted to come off the bench and not start.” That that is cool to hear. I mean, I think I was an all-star. Felt like I was at the prime of my career. Like it was we played the same position. Coach Stevens probably would have been drawing plays for me instead of drawing plays for JT or for JB or whoever else. And because I got hurt, it just now now he’s getting the ball. You’re just getting more opportunities. And it sometimes is all it takes.

  1. I wish Hayward didn’t get hurt. Tatum would’ve gotten traded and I would’ve respected him more lol. I really don’t like Boston 😤

  2. That mf said he ain’t get drafted to come off the bench. That statement alone lets you know he thinks he really dat 1

  3. Makes sense. It's the attitude of a soft dude which is exactly what Tatum is. The only reason he won a ring is everyone was hurt and he had a soft path. He'll never win again

  4. Tatum talking like that as a rookie is insane and disrespectful. Hayward was a helluva player n Tatum was nowhere near his level at that time. These young mfers are so entitled

  5. I remember that year as a heat fan I followed Gordon a lot that year because we were trying to sign him so bad he was def one of the better 3s in the league at that time unfortunate that injury set him back along with jt becoming who he is

  6. Ironically his idol Kobe came off the bench his first 3-4 years in the league to prove he belonged. Didn’t skip any of the grind

  7. I saw a clip of him talking about Kobe and one of the comments said he looks exactly like Kobe and now I can't unsee it

  8. see how jt said he don’t wanna come off the bench.. it’s no different than ace saying hr don’t wanna go to philly

  9. It all worked out, Hayward got paid and was successful coming back strong and Tatum got his rep and a chip

  10. To be able to see the positive for a teammate even at the expense of his own career. Hayward has always been a classy guy and a baller in his prime.
