for the first time in two and a half decades the New York Knicks are going to a conference final and they do it in dominant fashion as they defeat the Celtics in six games it’s their largest playoff win ever the New York Knicks are an atrocity they’re an embarrassment the New York Knicks are irrelevant to basketball with the eighth pick in the 2017 NBA draft the New York Knicks select Frank Neilakina from Strasburg France in SIG basketball somebody who had a job that he never wanted to perform in the first place that is the legacy of Phil Jackson as an executive in this industry and and thank the good Lord that it is over well this just in as well we are hearing that Tim Hardway Jr who is a restricted free agent has agreed to sign an offer sheet for four years and $71 million with the New York Knicks or even coming off the bench and the second question is well me I guess that answers that part i I mean I don’t know where I started where I came from hey Pete they said I got to come off the bench just stunned silence from the crowd they just saw the face of the franchise crumpled beneath the basket clutching his left knee the Knicks got the worst news possible after this MRI tonight with the ACL tear for Chris Porzing this is bad for the league it’s bad there was so much fun to watch this is really heartbreaking but I think now the Knicks need to turn around and say “Listen this season’s done next season’s probably done it’s going to take about a year to come back from this trade everybody start to rebuild around Porzingis i will roll up my sleeves and work really hard to build this culture to rebuild this culture back great opportunity to feel basketball success and eventually maybe all we hold that trophy together guys with the ninth pick the New York Knicks select Kevin Knox from the University of Kentucky with the 36th pick the New York Knicks select Mitchell Robinson from Shelmet Louisiana [Music] this morning Kristoffs Porzingis went into the Knicks front office to voice their frustration with the direction of the club he apparently gave the impression that he was okay with getting traded just a few hours later they traded him to the Dallas Mavericks the Knicks will get the number one pick i’m telling you set up the party get everything going start buying the jerseys you guys are going to get Zion Williamson the third pick goes to the New York Knicks [Music] with the third pick in the 2019 NBA draft the New York Knicks select RJ Baron from Toronto and Duke University because in July I expect Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to announce that they’re heading to the New York Knicks even if you don’t have Zion Williamson New York will still be ready to throw a parade down Broadway realizing that the New York Knicks were going to go without anything $70 million in cap space Pzinka’s gone no way this can’t h this can’t happen i wanted to be the first one to get you a Julius Randall jersey i hope you rock it you rock it with pride [Music] molly I thought they were supposed to get KD and Kyrie the Knicks and on the day that KD and Kyrie goes to Brooklyn the New York Knicks announced we have Julius Ray and Bobby Poris i’m just emotional right now look at the Forbes list they’re number one they’re worth $4 billion they got four wins currently just think about that math if you’re going to get somebody elite I want to congratulate Fizz they did him a favor rose takes over for Steve Mills who was reassigned last month as the new president Rose has a tough job ahead the Knicks do not have a permanent head coach and are now in their seventh consecutive losing season this is laughable you have the most famous arena on the planet you have the number one franchise in NBA they have unlimited spending power and they keep messing up they keep messing up this is incompetence up top the Knicks look to the future by pulling from their past tom Tibido will be the Knicks new head coach and in 2011 he won the NBA coach of the year he’s known to build tough defensive-minded teams with the eighth pick the New York Knicks select OB Toppen from Dayton University with the 25th pick the Oklahoma City Thunder select Emanuel Quickley from the University of Kentucky and Tibs we trust this guy knows how to win basketball games he’s got the 11th best winning percentage of all time i think it’s going to be an exciting season they’re definitely going over i think they’re going to win 25 to 30 games and they’re going to be fighting for that 10 you know 7 to 10 seed the New York Knicks can end up winning about 36 games being a 500 team making it to the playoffs and guess what they’ll be looking up they’ve got an upside because nobody’s expecting anything from them to get Derek Rose and we’ve seen the last couple years he still has something left in the tank is he the starting guard is he this is he that no but is he a contributor does he understand Tom Tibido this right here is a sign that the Knicks are trying to make a playoff push i mean everything you can dream of it just seemed like it all came to fruition it was amazing honestly everything that I signed up for and and goals that I wrote down and decid you know I wanted to play for the Knicks after spending so long as one of the most poorly run organizations in sports the Knicks are actually a functional franchise now but it is more than that it’s the way this team is winning with that kind of effort that has made them one of the strongest defensive teams in the league [Music] the Knicks have clinched a playoff spot and they weren’t even on the court when it happened when the Celtics lost to the Cavs tonight it ended the Knicks 7-year playoff drought now they’ll try to do even better by moving up to the fourth spot the plans were to begin today they would play the Atlanta Hawks they would have homec court events but they would go down okay which means the New York Knicks would be in the second round which means they’d be one round away from the conference finals i mean you see what’s happening just who we were as a team night in night out tough really to process that right now you know the way things ended we’ll be back we’re bringing a brand of basketball back that the city can be proud of that’s really what I mean by that and uh we have something to build on for the future with the 25th pick the Los Angeles Clippers select Quentyn Grimes from the University of Houston with the 36th pick the Oklahoma City Thunder select Miles McBride from West Virginia University you know last couple years has been kind of you know rough for me obviously with my knee and stuff so I’m locked in you know ready to go ready to play at a high level do what I can just to help you know this team win games continuing to build this thing out when I signed here 2 years ago this was my vision to be able to lock in something longterm you know build something from the ground up and and that’s what we’re doing everybody that’s what we’re doing all hands i just truly enjoy being a nick they have um continuity obviously with TIPS i think they’ve got young stars that I’m looking forward to in the next 5 years taking the jump i just think they have the young pieces in place they’ve got a coach that I’m fairly confident isn’t going anywhere and so I think they’re in a position to build this season was over for him in New York the final 23 regular season games he’ll sit out you know he can certainly start you know to uh physically prepare his body for the off season for next season i can’t go out there s and celebrate Julius Randall for giving the thumbs down to Nick fans because you know what they’ve been disappointed in his performance because they expect more because he’s been that good of a player or at least was a year ago with the Knicks we see an abyss we don’t know if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel or there’s any hope i’m able to contain myself and I all I have you have LeBron we have Leon Rose pistons then swinging a trade for Memphis center Jaylen Duran they gave up that first round pick from the Jeremy Grant trade they take on the last year of Kemp Walker’s contract from the Knicks the latest from ESPN they’re working on buying out that deal [Music] jaylen Brunson intends to sign a 4-year deal with the Knicks worth a little over $und00 million brunson coming off a career year with the Mavs averaged over 16 points and five assists a game to go all in on clearing cap space in hopes of signing Jaylen Brunson but the Knicks are acting like he’s KD the Knicks just hired this man’s father as an assistant coach i looked at the situation like “Okay I think I can help this team i think I can bring something different to the roster with them already having a guy like Mitch putting me in there i can see us being a good team in NBA.” And now New York they go back without any player of that caliber available in the marketplace new York does have a lot of assets and certainly you know they’re banking on RJ Barrett you know they added Jaylen Brunson in the offseason most importantly I just want to be myself not a savior in any way shape or form i just want to be able to contribute to a team and I drive up this team win games i like the group can’t wait to build more chemistry with these guys see what really we can unlock i’m really excited josh Hart at 6’5 can play three different positions and so he may not be the big wing that the Knicks really need but he’s a guy that he he can play big at 6’5 and so he’s going to provide toughness and physicality for the Knicks jaylen Brunson what a night alex Caruso the man standing between him and the bucket looks like he loses his footing jaylen sticks the three and then Oh yeah i mean he just starts barking at that baseline little slip i’m not saying you should settle but let’s appreciate the organizational shift this regular season without putting unfair expectations on a team that has yet to earn those expectations baby steps everyone baby steps we want to finish the season as strong as we can we’re in the playoffs we don’t want to just want to coast we want continue to get better find ways to make each other better making sure we’re staying focused it’s a great feeling it’s something you strive for you want a chance to compete further on our season is great but we have still a lot of work to do [Music] knicks last series win 2013 led by Jaylen Brunson the Knicks win their first playoff series since 2013 you guys just got to give them a lot of credit they didn’t play like a eight seed like the way we fought we did a lot of great things this season we obviously want to continue to keep playing have the opportunity to pitch things a little bit it’s definitely a learning experience if you don’t win you lose the Knicks get their man agreeing with Danchenzo on a 4-year $50 million deal now obviously with Devenzo now in New York he gets to rejoin his old Villanova teammates Jaylen Brunson and Josh Hart why not why can’t we wake up in May and the New York Knicks are in the conference finals maybe not the finals that might be a little much but why not the conference finals this is a good deep team well coached they’re going to grind defensively toronto will send three players to the New York Knicks for a package of players that includes Canadian RJ Barrett anobi was originally drafted by the Raptors in 2017 and is known for his strong defensive skills randle favoring that right shoulder oh boy oh boy is right and looks like he’s actually holding his pec as Julius Randall in some serious pain and now trying to get back to the locker room the Knicks bench just got a significant upgrade new York has acquired Bojan Bdonovich and Alec Burke bdonovich is averaging over 20 points a game this season and is a veteran who should help the Knicks space the floor talk about the journey you’ve been on and how it has reached this point now where you’re on the Garden floor hearing MVP chance and you’re going to the All-Star game i got I got nothing to say jaylen Brunson is a superstar jaylen Brunson’s acquisition changed everything about the New York Knicks they changed the direction of how they built their team and he’s a New York kind of player this is something magical that’s happening in New York right now this war of attrition is won by the Knicks new York advances to the second round in back-to-back years highly entertaining series and the Knicks survive it this is a fight of attrition right now for the Knicks without Julius Randall without Mitchell Robinson Buon Bdonovich getting OG back would be crucial but right now expectation is he is out for these both of these games in Indiana their mindset our mindset as a group it was strong definitely proud of what we were able to do this year and proud of how we fought night in night out obviously the outcome is not what we wanted but the way we fought man it’s just it’s awesome he has been a coveted asset around the league one of the really unique versatile player who just fits anywhere for Villanovavva players are back together two national championships at Villanovavva and now they’ll try to win a championship in New York with Ojanovi mikuel Bridges on the wing now for the Knicks along with Josh Hart along with Dante Devenenzo this Knicks team is as deep as anybody they are built to give the Boston Celtics as much trouble as possible by getting OJ and Obi back as the second best team in the East and this is obviously a huge moment for Brunson a guy who came to New York wanting to prove himself as a guy who could carry a team after the Dallas Mavericks did not want to give him a 4-year $54 million extension a few years ago [Music] carl Anthony Towns becoming a Nick with Julius Randall and the big ragu Dante Devenenzo going to Minnesota but I love this trade for the Knicks i am very excited and I am all the way back in best case scenario I think they could win 55 games one seed certainly and I think they can make the finals i think this team’s capable of beating Boston i think they’re capable of beating any team in the league they’ve gone all in obviously with Cat the offense needs to be the best offensive basketball williams on it the former teammates crunching fires [Music] the Knicks lead by two final seconds blocked by Bridges thompson digging in defensively 8 seconds brunson stops on a dime launches oh yeah jaylen Brunson buries it knicks lead by three the Brunson burner ignited [Music] for the first time in two and a half decades the New York Knicks are going to a conference final and they do it in dominant fashion as they defeat the Celtics in six games it’s their largest playoff win ever a lot of people saying we couldn’t do a lot of things a lot of negativity around what we were trying to accomplish and the way we just kind of put blinders on and went to work not win tonight and being knocked out but um just proud of our guys simple as that long legs short torso big ass feet there’s nothing he can do he’s built like a whole he’s built like a girl he has girl hips he’s like a full WNBA player tom Thibido has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the New York Knicks the Knicks believe that they need a new voice someone that can take them to the next step of the organization’s future which they hope is an NBA championship the Knicks got to be the stupidest damn people in the world you don’t fire no good coach like that and don’t have a plan you don’t have a plan and now the three coaches turn you down you got to have a plan man i mean I don’t know what the hell they’re going to do [Music]
