So, could the Cleveland Cavaliers be trading away Darius Garland to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason? The Charlotte Hornets receiving Jared Allen, and the Brooklyn Nets receiving Grant Williams and Dean Wade. Now, this four team trade is actually pretty significant if it were to go down. First and foremost, if LeBron were to get traded uh this off seasonason or at some point during 2025, the Cavaliers have to be on a short list of teams that he would want to go to. The Cavs are a tremendous team. had the best record in the Eastern Conference last year and they could very easily be a LeBron James away from winning a championship next year. So, if LeBron can return home, maybe maybe win one last championship, play with his son uh in his hometown, plus getting a first round draft pick in 2027 from the Charlotte Hornets, a historically uh bad team that’s often in the draft lottery. This could potentially be a win-win getting LeBron, winning a championship, and getting a high-end draft pick. This could be a good trade for the Cavaliers. Now, they are giving up quite a bit in return. you know, one of which is Darius Garland going to the Lakers. Now, if the Lakers want to get off of LeBron James’ contract, his age, etc. Getting back Darius Garland, Max Duce and a 2031 F or second round draft pick is a pretty good consolation prize in my personal opinion. Darius Carlin’s a very good guard. Having a one-two punch in the back court of Darius Garland, a little bit of a smaller guard, uh, but a little bit quicker, better defensively as well kind of makes it for Luca Dona just kind of struggles in that regard. But having a back court of Luca and Darius Garland could be one of the best back courts for the foreseeable future. Max Juice is a pretty good piece and that first round draft or second round draft pick in 2031 is at the very least a tradable asset. So not a bad return there from the Lakers getting quite a bit younger as well. Now the Charlotte Hornets are making a big splash here giving up a first round draft pick for Jared Allen. I think Jared Allen actually helps this team quite a bit if you’re able to solidify the center position in Charlotte who’s a very, you know, solid team on the rise. I would say uh just drafting you know recently Khan Canppel they have Brandon Miller coming back for his injury as well as the Mellow Ball that could be a good young core in Charlotte to kind of grow together play together make the playoffs next year in 2026 and for the Brooklyn Nets nothing really here uh you’re more or less just broker in the trade but if you’re getting some tradable assets in the form of Grant Williams you could maybe flip him later on and kind of go with the rebuild that way. So, really cool trade idea. If I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to probably go with the Cavaliers one, the Lakers 2, the Hornets three, and the Nets four.
