Miami Heat LINKED To Precious Achiuwa In NBA Free Agency By NBA Insider! Miami Heat Rumors

Could the Miami Heat bring back Precious Aua? This is something that I’ve seen Heat fans talk about on Twitter. I have brought it up in the past and NBA insider Brett Seagull put out an article of the top remaining free agents and predicting where they land. Well, he actually projected and predicted Miami brings back their former first round pick. And I have a lot of thoughts on the matter in this Heat roster that needs a backup big. But before we get to all of that, pin comment on today’s show. Would you bring back Precious Sichua to the Miami Heat? Type Y for yes or type in for no. I want to know your thoughts. So get down in the comments. Let’s showcase what Seagull said around the Miami Heat in a Chua here. He said that the Knicks have signaled that they will not bring back a Chua, especially after signing Gershan Yabiselli as a free agent. One team that could still use front court help this off seasonason is the Miami Heat. Not only does this fit make sense because Aua can play behind Bam at a bio and prove his all-around game, but the former Knicks big man recently purchased a two-bedroom condo in South Beach. Miami has an open roster spot and they can sign at Chua without crossing their first apron hard cap. Well, we definitely need another big, and we’ll talk more about this in a second, but I do want to quickly address what Seagull said about the condo in Miami. If we used a player buying a condo, an apartment, or any property in the city of Miami as a reason why they might sign with the Heat, I think 50% of the NBA would be playing for the Heat. I mean, everybody lives in Miami. Everybody trains in Miami because it’s where a lot of people want to play and it’s one of the best cities in the entire world. But the point is, the Heat absolutely do need another big man on this roster. We know that their starting lineup is probably going to be something like this. But the issue that we really have is the depth on this team. Because when you think about what Miami has on the bench, the only true big that they have is Nicola Yovic. That is not going to be serviceable. You can’t have him be the backup big. He can play the four, but I project him more as a three. And even if you have him play the four, that’s fine. Are you playing him alongside where? That’s cool. You can do that. But are you playing alongside Bam? That means you’re going a little bit back to that small ball. And we want Adabio to continue to transition to more of a four, more to a or a wing type of player. So if we’re being real here, the Heat just don’t have a backup big that is serviceable. Precious Achua could absolutely be that. And let’s rethink our precious Achua. Someone who was precious to Miami at one time. That was terrible. I’m sorry folks. Remember me attended Memphis. He was the AAC player of the year and freshman of the year in his only season playing for Penny Hardaway and the Tigers. He parlayed that into being the 20th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Obviously, the legendary selection, one pick ahead of Tyrese Maxi when Heat fans wanted him. And then we know where Tyrese is in the NBA now, but he was dealt away after his rookie season to the Toronto Raptors in the signing trade alongside Gorandragic, which netted Miami, Jimmy Butler’s best friend at the time, Kyle Lowry. And I didn’t think Precious Achua was that good as a rookie in the 305. And if we’ll be honest, where he’s still at in his career, it was a good decision by Miami to get that deal done by including Aua. You never know what he could have developed into with the Heat, but he did not show promise like a player Kel Wear did in his rookie season where you would then be like, “Okay, we’re not trading him.” No, Aua had a lot of struggles. One of them was on the defensive end. He was not good in that area. He was also very uncoordinated in his rookie season. He would drop so many passes towards him in traffic in the paint. He would mess up some lob opportunities. So, there were definitely some things he struggled with which made Miami a little bit okay with sending him in that Kyle Lowry signing trade. Like, just for more example, as a rookie, and I know it’s tough. It’s not easy to come in and be an impactful rookie right away, but he was one of the worst players on that Heat team. Obviously, he was a Heat squad that was coming off an NBA Finals appearance, losing in the bubble to the Lakers. They had high aspirations for the following year. Aua did not really help them in that first season. You obviously saw that he gets swept in embarrassing fashion by the Bucks that year in the Bren Forum series, but he was one of the worst players on the team. Net rating of 7.2. My goodness. You talk about how bad the defense was at times. The offense was even worse. A 102 rating is as bad as it gets. More conversation to come here on Precious Aua, but join the channel today because if the Heat do make a signing, whether it’s Precious or another move, we will have you covered with a video on the road to 25K subscribers. Let’s do it for the Heat R rookie Casper Yakonis about 700 away. Join the channel today. I am very open about this. I’ve talked about it on different episodes here on the channel. I am in on signing Precious Chiwa because I think it would be a cool story to have him come back and potentially be a really rotational impactful guy on this Heat roster and maybe a tone for not living up to the 20th overall pick hype. I wouldn’t say there’s a lot of it, but there was some hype around him coming out of Memphis considering how good he was player of the year, rookie of the year. And one other reason is that he’s the best big man free agent available by a pretty wide margin. Like, it’s not even close if you ask me. The top eight free agent bigs, like these names are a joke. Chris Bucher is a little interesting. Sure, Bullbull’s fun, but he’s not really a big. He’s a seven foot like wing. That’s how he plays. He doesn’t play big. Kai Jones is a fascinating player, but like Mo Bomba’s not good at all. Rashawn Holmes is cooked. Bismach Bambbo in the year 2025. Are we serious? And Trey Lyles, I’m not really sold on him either, even though there is probably a chance you could convince me he’s the second best one out of this eight person list behind Precious Aua. like Precious can still give you valuable minutes. Over the past two seasons when he was traded from Toronto to the Knicks in that RJ Barrett, OGN Obi Emanuel Quickley trade, he was a fine player for these two squads. I mean, he’s giving you 20 minutes a night. He shoots 50% from the field. He’s a solid rebounder if we’re going to be honest. Like averaging five and a half, six rebounds in 20 minutes is very good. He rebounds well. He rebounds bigger than he is. Remember, he’s only like 69, 610. He’s similar to Bam Adabio in terms of size, but he is not as athletic, not as much as a floor spacer as Bam is at this time. So, he can play that more traditional center next to Adabio. You can use those two very good in terms of versatility on the defensive end of the floor. So, I am in on Precious Chu. He’s also one of the more aggressive rebounders in the NBA. He is actually in the 93rd percentile of offensive rebounds. I mean, he grinds. He makes sure to go grab some boards and create second chance opportunities. So, anytime you have that type of player, I am all in on that. More coming, but grab this Heat hoodie right now because it is on sale 50% off. Usually 70, now available for 35. Go to chatsports.com/culturale right now to grab it. links in the description and comments of today’s video because this is a sale that you simply can’t miss out on. Sizes are running out. Grab yours now. They still got small, medium, large, extra large, and 2X’s. Don’t miss out. Okay, as we transition here, the Heat, I would like for them to sign Precious. But if they can’t sign him because he signs somewhere else or just simply don’t sign him, you have to turn towards the trade market to try to find a backup big. I have said it, the biggest need on this Heat roster outside of a true number one superstar option is a backup big. So, if you can’t sign Precious, these are for cheap trade targets. We’ve talked about expensive ones in the past. Vhuvich, Ysef Nerkich, and uh Robert Williams. Those would all require you sending out Rosier, which would be two birds with one stone. You get a big bin, and you get rid of Rosir. But if you can’t offload Rosier, here are four solid options. Richards makes 5 mil, Trace Jackson Davis makes 2.2. Drummond makes 5 mil, and Mitchell Robinson makes about $12 million. And out of this four-person list, the one that I’m the biggest fan of is that number one guy, Nick Richards, the former Charlotte Hornets center who was traded last year at the deadline to the Phoenix Suns. And I think he’s an impressive young player. And he’s been in the league for three seasons now, so he’s not the most young. He’s starting to get to that veteran range, but last year he had a good season, man. In 22 minutes, he averaged nearly a double double. Like, that’s good stuff, man. If you get him on a per 36 minutes, he’s going to be averaging 14- 15 rebounds. He’s got a really good frame, really long wingspan, he’s 7 feet tall, he finishes a lot of opportunities at the rim, in lobs, on putbacks, and he’s actually a really good free throw shooter. Fun fact about Nick Richards, he had a 46.5% free throw rate last year. That ranked in the 97th percentile. So, he gets to the line a lot for a big man and shoots 74%. Yeah, that will play. And I think a trade between Miami and Phoenix actually makes a lot of sense. You could do a very solid one for one swap here where Miami gets their backup big and Nick Richards and they all only have to send out Heywood Highmith. And there is a lot of reasons why I think this makes sense for both sides. Well, let’s look at it from Phoenix perspective. We really already know Miami side because well they need a backup big and Richards is relatively young fits their timeline and could be a really good piece long term off the bench. But the Phoenix Suns also drafted a center at the 10th overall slot with Kaman Malawatch who they’re probably going to want to get some minutes this year as a developmental piece. But they also traded with the Hornets again on draft night to acquire Mark Williams. So if you look at their roster they got Mark Williams at the five. They have a bunch of other wings and fours, but then Malawatch is that backup guy, which means Nick Richards is demoted to that third center. Was he going to get a lot of playing time? Probably not. The Suns have coveted Haywood Highmith in the past a lot. They wanted him in a potential trade for Kevin Durant. They tried to sign him last year in free agency when Haywood was a free agent. That was prior to when he signed a two-year deal with Miami at the time. And when you factor in that, they make the same money. Nick Richards at 5 million flat, one-year deal. Heywood Highmith 5.6, one-year deal. They’re both expiring. Miami saves a very small 600,000. But it’s a win-win for both. Suns get a wing that they could use. The Heat get a young backup center. So, let me know your thoughts. Would you do this trade to get Nick Richards? And all you got to do is send out Heywood Highmith. Type A for accept. Type D for decline. I would absolutely do it. But here’s my final word on today’s show. I doubt the Heat actually signed Precious Sua. Even though they were linked to him by Brett Seagull and I would be in for it. I just know how this front office works. They have only one standard contract available to use. They want to probably keep that spot open in case they have to take multiple players in a trade back. And they also want to probably get underneath the luxury tax before they sign another player. So, if they are going to address backup big, like I hope they do, I think a trade is more likely to where they get one in return for a Rosier, they make a small one for one swap like the one we just showcased. I just don’t think Miami is going to fill up their roster sheet with the max 15 guys and move farther away from the luxury tax threshold where they’re trying to get under before the season ultimately begins. But if I’m wrong and the Heat do sign a player, we’ll have you covered. If I’m right and they make a trade, hey, guess what? We’ll have you covered. What’s the moral of the story? Brett Siegel, NBA Insider, on Precious Achiuwa:
“The New York Knicks have signaled that they won’t bring Precious Achiuwa back after signing Guerschon Yabusele as a free-agent frontcourt talent this NBA offseason. One team that could still use some frontcourt help this offseason is the Miami Heat. Not only does this fit make sense because Achiuwa can play behind Bam Adebayo and improve his all-around game, but the former Knicks big man recently purchased a two-bedroom condo in South Beach. Miami has an open roster spot, and they can sign Achiuwa without crossing their first-apron hard cap.”
