Salary Cap Breakdown – Portland Trailblazers
DeAndre Aton was the highest paid player on the Portland Trailblazers salary cap heading into next season, but they agreed to a buyout in which Aton gave back $10 million and the Blazers waved him. Now he’s on the books for one more season as 25 million in dead money. But then they made another big move, trading their leading scorer from last season, Anthony Simons, to the Boston Celtics for Drew Holiday. Now at 35 years old, Holiday is Portland’s highest paid player with three years left on his contract. But then another surprising move occurred when the Milwaukee Bucks waved former Trailblazer Damen Lillard. After surveying his options, Lillard decided to resign with his former team on a three-year deal. He’ll be rehabbing his torn Achilles all of next season. Finally, the Blazers made a couple of other small moves. They drafted Yonghan Sun with the 16th pick in the draft. They actually had the 11th pick, but they traded back five spots with the Grizzlies and picked up a future first round pick in the process. And then lastly, they signed free agent Blake Wesley at the minimum. So assuming the Blazers don’t make any more moves, their 15-man roster is set heading into next season. It’s kind of an odd mix of veterans and young players, so we’ll see how they stack up in the competitive Western Conference.
The Portland Trailblazers have had an active off-season, here’s everything they did and how it impacts their salary cap heading into next season!

I don’t get why they would trade simons for holiday and sign dame, that just makes the rebuild harder and sets the team back

This video format is so good! I especially appreciate the extra context around their draft moves and that they picked up extra asset down the road. Gives a clear and concise summary of the offseason changes.
Hope this takes off across all platforms, so you can expand to other teams and other sports.
Omg you did it I love this guy😂♥️
A question I've always had about Dame's return is how did homie not get a minimum contract knowing that he ain't playing for at least a year and already having Bucks money

Their lineup is charming. I still hold a candle for Scoot.
This team is really odd. Can someone explain to me the vision?
