Phoenix Suns TRADE Royce O’Neale To The Golden State Warriors? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Phoenix Suns be trading away Royce O’Neal to the Golden State Warriors this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or I guess a you know a trade proposal news item that actually did occur uh from basketball forever on X which says uh the Phoenix Suns have made the following trade offer for Warriors forward Jonathan Kaminga, Royce O’Neal, Nick Richards four second round draft picks. The Suns are reportedly offering Kaminga a four-year $90 million deal if the trade is accepted. So there’s been a lot of spo a lot of smoke and a lot of speculation regarding Kaminga and where he could be dealt this off season. All signs point towards him likely not returning to the Warriors. It has gotten a little bit toxic, I would say, uh between Kaminga’s camp and the Warriors front office. I guess reportedly they offered him a two-year deal for about 45 million bucks. So uh that is the same average annual value as this deal, but it is of course half the money and half the time frame as well. So, Kaminga, I think, is looking to have some security and looking to get uh, you know, maybe a change of scenery elsewhere. Perhaps if he were to go to the Phoenix Suns, he could blend in well with this new roster. It is a little bit of a log jam in the back court with Kaminga, uh, Jaylen Green, who they recently acquired, Dylan Brooks, as well as, uh, you know, Devin Booker. But, I think it’s a good thing for the Phoenix Suns to add some more youth to the team. Um, add some more players with higher ceilings. And if you’re only giving up Royce O’Neal, Nick Richards, and four second round draft picks, it’s a pretty good asking price if you ask me from the Suns perspective. Now, I don’t think the Warriors are too keen on accepting this deal. I’m sure they would love to get back a better trade package elsewhere. A team that comes to mind would be the Sacramento Kings or they could maybe dangle someone like Demar De Rozan or maybe even a Damon Sabonis or Zack Lavine out there, maybe even some other players as well um in a Kaminga trade. So, the Phoenix Suns don’t have a ton to offer, but they are sort of buying uh Kaminga in this case at a good asking price, but they are paying them 90 million bucks uh for the next four years. So, a bit of a longerterm investment if this goes down. I could definitely see a world where the Suns uh make a trade happen with the Warriors. Is it going to happen overnight? I I don’t think so. Uh but I think that if you’re the Golden State Warriors, I would hold out for a better package. Now, Royce O’Neal, good 3 and D option for them. Uh fits this Warriors dynamic well. Uh Nick Richards as well as as a center presence. Nothing crazy, but it’s a body nonetheless. Uh the four second round draft picks are nothing crazy. Uh perhaps if you’re the Warriors, you you know, you sell those picks later on in a future trade. I guess only time will tell. Uh but if I had to pick a winner of this deal, without a doubt, I’m going to go with the Phoenix Suns. But as always, leave your thoughts.
