Warriors Trade Talks ESCALATING…
Folks, do you think the Warriors are crazy for not doing a sign and trade on Kaminga yet? Do you think Kaminga is crazy for not signing the qualifying offer, not just giving in? Whatever it may be, this situation’s getting untenable. It’s clear Kaminga doesn’t want to be there. It’s clear the Warriors don’t want him. And folks, we just found out the King’s offer and the Suns offer. We’ve talked about the money that Kaminga is looking to get from the Warriors. First 20 million per year, two years. They upped it to 22.5 million per year. Well, now we know the players and the money from the Kings and the Suns. Randy Silver, Warriors Digest. Break this all down for you on Warriors Digest. Trades, rumors, off seasonason games, recaps, you name it, we got it. And there’s no bigger news literally in the NBA, maybe Luca being thinned, then Kaminga’s contract offer. Russell Westbrook ain’t signing anywhere. Moses, I mean Moses, Al Horford ain’t signing anywhere. GP2 said he isn’t signing anywhere. The Anthony Melton isn’t signing anywhere. The other players aren’t signing until Kaminga domino drops. Usually this happens at the start of free agency. Now it’s way into it, at least a month now that we’re in August. So again, to level set where we’re at the new news, Kaminga’s offer is worth up to 90 million over four years from the Suns and the Kings. Sunsum offering 70 million more guaranteed than the Warriors. Warriors sign and trade. They’re stopping again. 45 million over two years or 8 million qualifying offer and he’s a free agent next season. Here’s the Suns, excuse me. Here’s the Kings offer, folks. Per Sam Ami. As for the Kings, which last spoke with the Warriors earlier this week, team sources say they’ve offered a three-year, $63 million deal for Kaminga in a proposal that would send veteran guard Malik Monk in their 2030 first round pick, lottery protected to the Warriors. So, you give Malik Monk, a playmaker off the bench, can score, can start. Kaminga gets three years 63 million, basically 21 million per year. If that pick doesn’t convey, then the Warriors would get the least favorable of the Kings or San Antonio’s, excuse me, first pick in 2031. Those protections have been the primary sticking point team sources said as the Warriors have insisted that the first round would be unprotected, thus stalemate. So, let’s talk about this. In 2030, first round lottery protected. That means folks that the Warriors expect potentially for this to be not a good pick because if it was live protected they think the Kings will be good in 2030 because then live protected means top 13 top 15 I think it’s 13 right and then it falls to 2031 you think the Kings are still going to be good if they’re not bad in 2030 why are they bad in 2031 one, San Antonio, Darren Fox, WBY. That’s not going to be a low first round pick. That’s going to be up in the 2030s. You think they’re going to be a playoff team, you know, at their projections. So, the Warriors want a proper valued first round pick. They don’t think that the value they got for Kaminga drafting number seven, the player he is, is worth a a high low, when I say low, a high round first pick, it’s hard to say it, a first round pick above lottery. So, they’re not willing to make this deal. But with Malik Monk, folks, uh, roster, Malik Monk, he’s smaller than Kaming at 6’3, but a better shooter for sure. Better scorer, 27. So, he’s not even in his prime yet. Obviously, he’s bounced around in his career. hasn’t been a consistent starter until this year with Sacramento, but he’ll get you at least double digits a game, especially since 2019. His efficiency shooting, not the best threepoint percentage. I think with the Warriors, he’ll get more open shots playing next to Curry. But imagine Curry and him closing a game when you need scoring. Great. Imagine him coming off the bench when Curry is not playing. Great. He gives that scoring punch we haven’t had. Imagine him and Butler. Butler able to take the ball to the post. Leak Monk takes the screen. Pop, shoot, roll, whatever it may be. I think this is a solid trade. Yeah, it kind of sucks in the first round pick, but this is what you can get. Kaminga and um him not wanting to be there and what that could mean for a culture and the Warriors. We saw that with who? Jordan Pool. You get off of that and you move forward. I think Malink Monk provides that. And now again, you’re basically giving it to your biggest rival. And if Kaminga does amazing with the Kings and you got rid of it, Warriors fans, Warriors Nation would never let the Warriors live it down. It could be Mike Dley Jr.’s job as well. But they’re very stuck on this first round pick. Now for Russell, we talked about he said he ain’t moving until he knows what happening with Kaminga. Just keeping everything in the bay is what is happening. Kaminga is the Suns. Four second round picks, Royce O’Neal and Nick Richards. Again, the Warriors have said we want a first round pick, first round pick, first round pick, non-starter. So, if you look at the Suns, Royce O’Neal, where’s Royce O’Neal and Nick Richards, 66, so around Kaminga’s height, seventh season, again, 32, a little bit out of his prime or kind of right there on the tail end. You got Nick Richards, 7 foot center. You know, we haven’t signed anybody in free agency. So, all you got is TJ Dean, Quinton Post. This does give you a backup center, 27 just coming into his prime. Look at Nick Richards. Gets you around 10 points a game. Can start. You can see there he started 34 games last year for the Suns when he was traded. He was at nine games for Charlotte. Gets you rebounds. So, could this be a nice backup uh now that you don’t have Looney? But is that what you want? Are you trading Kaminga, who could be a starter, starter, that type of player for a backup center, plus Royce O’Neal, who can get you like 10 points a game as well from that guard position. He is a decent level three-point shooter, better than the Warriors have had with Kaminga, mid to high 30%, but he’s only taken two to five a game, but he could play well next to Kaminga, excuse me, Kaminga, Steph Curry in that sense. But the Warriors really want that first round pick. And that’s where these four second round picks don’t work. You look at the Suns draft picks. Where are those second round picks? Uh, no. Wrong one. Future picks. Second round of 2029. Second round 2026. No protection. No protection. They own it. Second round in 2032. 2032. So really not a lot can happen. The Warriors want something probably a little bit more to the now. You get two players. Where if I lost it? You get two players who can help. They’re role players, but you’re losing potentially a star and somebody who maybe on the team isn’t the most jelling anymore, especially after winning the league. Now again with Malik Monk, you get somebody who can help you win now. Scoring his defense isn’t the best. We’ve seen, you know, Warriors do make teams a better players better defensively, but you’re not getting a first round pick for at least six years. And at that point, you think the Kings and the I mean, who knows? The Kings, but San Antonio with WBY, with Darren Fox, they should be pretty dang good. And also, I’m just blanking the name right now, the first round pick, who was also the rookie of the year this year, back-to-back rookie of the years. So, they’re not getting that pick. So, I don’t know, folks. It’s a tough conversation. This is why the front offices make the big bucks, right? They got to make these tough decisions. They’re playing hard ball on Kaminga. Kaminga playing hard ball on them. Kaminga is now off playing FIA basketball. So, we can have some highlights on how he’s doing there. And we’ll see what happens. This could come down to training camp and him stale stalemating out. Wild. Comment your thoughts, subscribe, and of course, we keep you updated on everything Warriors Digest. Warriors are not getting exactly what they want in this trade, this is a fire sale and if the Warriors do not want to trade, take the chance he leaves for nothing. Malik is a solid team guy and a FAN favorite. Warriors would do well with him on the roster. Upgrade over Buddy.
Warriors are correct to not trade yet. Not until the protections come off the pick, or negotiable Top 5 protected.
Kings are really in on the idea of Kuminga at 21/yr. That's great value for them tbh. Give it time I'm sure they're willing to negotiate.
Warriors are like the guy at the poker table that has the least amount of chip but still just calls , bitch just go all in .. this makes me hate the warriors even more I wish I can actually spit on y’all
Monk if playing for Warriors must start before Podz
Frankly I dont want to give up Monk for him
Where ever he ends up JK is going to be a SuperStar! And I'm buying his jersey soon as they are for sale!
Horford
Post
Butler
Monk
Steph
TJD
Draymond
Moody
Hield
Podz
the fact that the warriors division rivals want JK kinda proves how high his ceiling is. Nobody knows the warriors roster better than division rivals.
Bobby Marks said the best deal for the Warriors is to sign JK to a two-year deal under $23 mil per. Any S&T would most likely involve a 3rd team.
#FreeKuminga until its backwards. lol
If they wont take monk they're just being weird, its not like kerr will play him but still.
Then they want all these picks just to not play them either lol.
I don't guy so many Warriors' fans are enamored with Monk. The Warriors have enough undersized shooting guards with Podziemski (6'4), Moses Moody (6'5) and Buddy Hield (6'4). They need someone who is 6'6+ that can shoot the ball which Monk is neither. He's a 32% three point shooter. He' honestly not much better or worse than any of the SG's they already have on this roster and they've just drafted Rowe, who they're high on. We have to remember why they're looking to get rid of JK. It's not because they think he isn't good. It's because they want to win now and to maximize the final two years of Curry's contract to try and compete for another championship. Adding Monk isn't going to do that. There is also a reason why they'd want Murray and Ellis. Ellis is a great defender while being a 43% 3 point shooter. Murray is 6'8 and can probably move Butler to the SG spot and KG is a 37% 3 point shooter. The ideal player on the Kings would be Lavine. He's 6'6 and is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. He's a combo guard which bodes well for playing next to Curry, but at $48M, it's a pass.
If you double click into the details of the Sac deal, the dubs would have to send another player or they be hard capped at the first apron which doesn't leave them any wiggle room.
Essentially, you're loosing JK and Buddy or Moody for Monk + and a second round. The least favorable first rounder between the Kings and SA, which will most likely be a high second round pick given where the SA will be in 2030.
I wouldn't do that deal. I don't think you'll be able to flip Monk for a first-rounder next year either.
warriors so stupid we going end up losing him for free like all our other players. smh!
Butler is not playing more than 50 games next season and Steph too.Father time will catch them.Take the money and run
I like both Steph and Jimmy. But Kerr is dumb.
This whole saga can be dragged out for another month or two Kuminga has made it clear he wants to leave and not return to GS so we’ve to make the right move at the right time. The Malik monk trade is a move I like but the kings slapping a protected first one pick is the real hold up in this whole situation. Not giving up a unprotected first when Sacramento will be a good team in the next few years is something that that’s head scratching.
It is my understanding that the W’s would need to trade Buddy or Moody too for salary purposes.
I think Dunleavy is doing exactly what he should do, none of these trades are worth a second thought and Kamminga is a complete idiot let him sign the qualifying offer sit him on the bench and forget about him.
they have to give up to much for Monk a bad trade is not worth it.
Malik for Kuminga wouldn’t be the worst, but it sucks because Kuminga is going to be the future for whatever team he plays with. Too bad Lacob didn’t fire Kerr.
As a Suns fan I really hope we bow out of this race and let the Kings trade for him or let him sign the qualifying offer. I don’t even like the current offer. 4 2nds and 2 solid backups for someone who doesn’t have a role on the Warriors and also paying him $22 Million a year seems like an overpay to me. Plus, we already have a project scorer in Jalen Green.
Warriors are desperate to waste another 1st round pick rotfl
I was experimenting with the trade simulator, and I tried a $24m sign and trade that acquires Rui Hachimura, and Dalton Kinecht, for Johnathan Kaminga. It worked with capspace for Al Horford and the other FA former Warriors. Just thought I would let you know idfk.
Good offer take it .
Malik Monk is a better and older version of Loseminga. One dimensional inefficient shot jacket. At this point I just want to see Loseminga get screwed. Just force him to take QO and then bench him and watch his value tank. As a franchise you have to show strength. Can't have rogue selfish elements having their way
Warriors is currently offer him two years $45 million with 2nd year team option, that take too much control away from Kuminga. To me, they might end up with $45 millions two year fully guaranteed, Warriors can trade him or keep him in the two years. Fair for both sides
This whole JK situation is a JK!!!! Just trade him for a semi select player and move on! JK doesn’t want the warriors and the feeling is mutual! Just move on and get ready for the upcoming season!!!
What does Monk give us ?😂I do not want Kuminga traded, maybe old players don't want him. He needs to commit to playing defense. He can see the ball now and then. The fact that we don't even know how this team would be like after Steph is exhausting. So no to trading him.
JK not worth the money he ask, too inconsistent as a player.
The Warriors will suck for a decade when Curry retires.
Are you high dude? We need SIZE!!!!
It’s a shame that the Warriors have to part ways with another first round pick.
