Utah Jazz trade intel: More Lauri Markkanen insight | Hoops Nerd Show

Some more info on Lowry marketing potential trade. Let’s talk about it. It’s the Hoops Nerd Show. All right, guys. Like always, like the video, subscribe to the channel, and if you really want to help out, please watch to the end. It helps out probably more than anything. Anyways, so we’ve had this rumor before, but it was reiterated. I can’t remember if it was today or yesterday from Zack Low on his podcast talking about the Utah Jazz. Go listen to the Zack Low podcast if you want to hear it. It’s the most recent one. But on this one, Zack Low talks about some of the more confounding moves that have been done in the NBA. One of the moves he talked about was Colin Ston to the Charlotte Hornets. The Utah Jazz moved him to the Hornets and gave the Hornets a second round pick for you Nerkach. Very much was a move to clear the deck for Utah Jazz players. But in that conversation that was interesting is kind of talking about that trade and then Lowry Markin because of that trade it gave Zack Low even more fire to his belief and what he’s heard that Lowry Markin is the most interesting trade target in the NBA this season. They in that podcast if you go in into it will talk about Lowry Markin. He said this same thing before, but it’s interesting that he mentions it again after all the offseason moves that have happened. He hasn’t changed. So, this is still up there as something that he’s looking at. And they talk about the same thing that has been mentioned by multiple people, Tim McMahon. Uh I don’t know if Bill Simmons has talked about this or any other reporters, but it has been mentioned by Zack Lowe and by Tim McMahon and I think actually some of the local beatw writers. Lowry Markin has to rehash rehab I guess not rehash rehab his his trade value last season he shot it very poorly. He shot 34% from three for the season. I don’t care how difficult the shots he was taking from two and kind of the different types of shots he was taking. It’s not like the three-point shots were all that much different than the ones he was taking before. He was not doing a lot of pull-up jump shooting. It was mostly catch and shoot. and he shot 34% from three. I don’t know why he shot so poorly. I mean, everyone talks about Paul George and how bad of a season he had. Paul George shot 35% from three and Lowry is at 34. So, he has some rehabbing to do for a player that has a lot of of money going towards him the next four seasons with his contract. It’s a huge contract. I don’t know if the It’s interesting the reports, and I’ve talked about this before, too. We heard the report before um I think it was from Jake Fischer where the Jazz are happy to have Lowry Markin on the team as the season goes on, but if they get an offer that’s too good to give up on, then they will move him. Right. So basically, Utah is fine going forward with Lowi Markin unless an offer comes. It makes me think when Zack Low reiterates that that he has to rehab his trade value that that’s the spin of the Jazz that’s going out there that they are willing to play Lowry Markin and have him be a part of the future with this young core even though Utah is very much interested in being a top eight a bottom eight team a top eight pick in the draft to keep their draft pick from going to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Yes, Utah’s not going to very be be very good. Yes, they are in the Western Conference that they will lose a lot of games. They still will play Eastern Conference teams and having Lowry Markin makes it very likely that you win a bunch of those games. So, we’ll see. But Lowry Markin, according to Zack Low, is the most interesting trade target. He has trade value that he has to rehab. Although, who knows? Maybe he wants to stay in Utah so he shoots it poorly. I don’t know. That may very well be it. I don’t think that’s what it it is, but it’s certainly a possibility at least. And let’s say Markin just doesn’t shoot it well again next year, then the trade might not come. And in that scenario, Markin’s gonna have to watch out because Utah has players that are coming. Ace Bailey already looks like from what little we’ve seen from summer league looks like a prospect that’s going to have a lot of talent and should just improve with reps. And we saw Kyle Philip Philippowski win summer league MVP. And Philippowski might make Markin a little bit tradable or at least expendable to some extent depending on what the Jazz want to do with their goals knowing that next year they want a top eight pick and so we’ll see what happens but it’s really interesting the thing it’s important to remember though even if Utah wants to make a trade it’s hard to make a trade with $46 million of salary you know maybe the Detroit Pistons are interested in him maybe the San Antonio Spurs who we knew had interest in him before maybe the Sacramento Kings who make terrible decisions and maybe you’ve talked can figure out something with that. We will see. Let me know in the comments what you think. Should they just keep them? Should they trade them? What’s a trade idea for you? Guys, like the video, subscribe to the channel. I will talk to you next

On the most recent Zach Lowe podcast, he shared information on Lauri Markkanen and what he sees as the most interesting trade target in the NBA. Are we going to see a potential move with Markkanen at some point? We’ll find out.

  1. Keep him. Yes, lose one more season, and then start going all in to develop this team for contention. Half of what we have as young players have a LONG way to go to prove if they even belong, but tanking isn't always the answer. We lucked out with Bailey and Clayton. Clayton will likely be our next PG, as he is a beast on working and refining his game, and he has the heart to make it happen. Lauri wants to stay in Utah, and that is contagious. You want a log term team? You don't let your best player go.

  2. News flash for you, Jazz players stats are bad when the team is trying to tank. Keep Laurie unless a very amazing offer is made for him.
