Vegas is DISRESPECTING the Miami Heat | Looking Into Futures Bets + HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT
If y’all been fans of the channel for a while, then you know that I like to dabble a little bit into sports betting responsibly, of course. And sometimes I would share my favorite props or lines. And I’d be honest with you guys, you know, I don’t like to lie. I always let y’all know when I got burned, like last season when the Heat went on that 10ame losing streak. And I kept thinking eventually, hey, tonight’s the night they’re going to win and break the losing streak. And it didn’t happen for 10 games. So, I got burnt a little bit there, but I also rode some really good trends last year. Uh, eventually I learned to take the opposing team’s fourth quarter spread against the Miami Heat because we know that the Heat always collapsed in the fourth quarter. And also, I mean, Lord knows I made a ton of money betting Terry Rosier unders. So much so that I thought the feds were actually going to show up on at my door. But I’m joking, of course. In all seriousness though, I do enjoy sports betting in moderation as a way of enhancing the watching experience, especially for what was a boring Heat team last year. Hopefully, they’re a little bit more exciting this year, but especially last year, it made the games more enjoyable to watch. And also other games, too. You know, I may not uh generally be interested in a Hornets versus Bucks game, but if you throw a little bit of money on some props you like, it really does enhance the the the watching experience for me. And then I also do really enjoy the sense of community built around it. You know, I go to the basketball courts every night. We share some of our favorite props. You know, I’ve got multiple group chats with the boys. It’s just a nice sense of community around it. But you also may know that whenever I mentioned my sports betting on this channel, I had always started it by saying the anonymous player prop betting app that doesn’t sponsor me, so I cannot say their name. And the better players you picked, well, of course, the more money they cost. And in this specific lineup, I scored my record of 371 fantasy points after Steph Curry and Demarcus Cousins combined for 134 points just by themselves. And you know, this is a throwback because if you look at the lineup, you also see Jamaich Green and Lance Stevenson and Courtney Lee. So, the point is, I’ve been using FanDuel for a very long time. So, it is truly an honor to be partnered with them. That doesn’t change anything on this channel or this podcast. It doesn’t mean you’re about to get blasted with ads or anything like that. The content isn’t going to change at all. But I do know that I get to proudly represent FanDuel in each video and podcast upload, which is something that I am very excited about. And since we are in the beginning of August, it’s the middle of the off season, there’s not a lot to talk about. I figured this would be a perfect time to actually open up FanDuel and see what early props they have in relation to the Miami Heat. So, I’m on the official FanDuel sports website. I am using the desktop version, but of course they have the app as well. You can see all the popular sports on the side here, including NBA, of course. But what I want to do is actually go to the search bar up here, and I’m going to search Miami Heat. So, we can see all the Heat related bets. It looks like the first one they have is E basketball. So, I’m guessing that’s in the 2K League. We will not be betting on this because I know nothing about it, but it is pretty cool how they have all types of sports, even esports. Now, the first actual bets that it looks like they have is for the Miami Heat regular season win total, which they have at 38 and a half. Am I tripping or is that a little bit disrespectful? Especially in the weaker Eastern Conference. You know, we talk all the time. You expect Indiana to slip a bit a little bit without Halleurn. The Bucks roster is literally dog water outside of Giannis, of course, which maybe Giannis alone can get you more than 38 wins, I will admit. But the rest of the team sucks. You got no Damen Lillow no more. Then, of course, the Boston Celtics, you got Tatum out. They pretty much sold off all their other good players outside of Derek Whites, uh, and Jaylen Brown. So, I pulled up the official basketball reference page for the Miami Heat. So, we can check the history of their win loss record. And yeah, last season they did only win 37 games. So, I guess the 38 and a half for next season makes some sense. They expect the Heat to be a little bit better. But, of course, it is a bit tricky because you had Jimmy Butler to start last season and then you didn’t have him, but now you got a full season of Wiggins. You also got Norman Powell. So, I could easily see the Heat being better on paper, but just because the rest of the Eastern Conference is weaker, I think just cuz of that alone, they’ll be much better than this 37 wins. So, right away that that’s making me think to smash the over. And then when’s the last time they they didn’t have, you know, over 38 wins besides last year, 46 the year before, 44, 53, 40, 44, 39, 40. You got to go all the way back to 2014, 2015, which was the last time they didn’t have 38 wins. And and who was on that roster that specific year? Is that the year that you had? Yeah, that was like the last year of of Lu Al Dang and Bosch and Beasley. I think that was the year after uh after LeBron left, right? So, literally, you had the greatest player in your franchise history leave your team. You know, of course, you’re going to have a bit of a down season, but outside of that, there are almost never under 38 and a half wins. The time before that was the year where DWade got hurt. Yeah. They won 15 games. They drafted Michael Beasley the next year. So for the line to be at 38 1/2 and they literally haven’t gone under that, you know, except twice in the last 20 plus seasons, I feel like that’s a pretty safe bet to take the over. And back on FanDuel here, you see they have the over and under at both minus minus 112 for over, minus 118 for under, which means that neither option is necessarily the favorite. But minus 112 for over, you could throw 10 bucks on that to make what about N bucks profit. I think that’s great value. I’mma definitely have to throw some money on that one later. Looks like the next bet they have is for the Miami Heat to make the playoffs. They have yes at plus 108. What? Plus odds meaning the favorite is to miss the postseason. Are you kidding me? So if you throw 10 bucks on, you would make 10 bucks profit. You could double your money just if the Heat make the playoffs. How’s this team not going to make the playoffs? I don’t get it. We got to look at all the NBA futures here and see what they have for the Eastern Conference here because Eastern Conference winner they they have the Cavs as the favorite. The Knicks, Magic Hawks, Pistons, 76ers, Celtics, Bucks, Pacers, Heat. So they got the Heat at what is this? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. They got the Heat at 10th in the Eastern Conference. Are you kidding me? That’s insane. Obviously, I don’t think the Heat are going to win the Eastern Conference, but they shouldn’t have the 10th best odds behind Boston, behind Indiana. Oh, I love that bet for the Heat to make the playoffs. I I Oh, I’m going to have to smash that. This might be one of the rare times I put more than $5, $10 on a bet because how did he not go to make the playoffs? You made it last year as a 10 seed, albeit. I know you had to win a couple of playing games, but oh, this is a phenomenal bet. I listen, this is not financial advice by any means, but I I don’t know. Maybe I’m maybe I’m drinking the Kool-Aid a little bit too much. I know I tend to be optimistic at times, but I think I’m a realist in general. I don’t know. Let me know down below. Am I crazy? Usually, you know, Vegas and the sports books know more than me, but hey, I think that’s a great bet. Uh to win the NBA Finals, they have the Heat at plus $1,400. So, if you really want to make some money, throwing 10 bucks on that would win you $1,400. I don’t know. It’d be like a little lottery ticket. I’m not going to lie to you. Might throw a little bit of money on it. Might be might be a little fun. Maybe we do like a little South Florida parlay. Put some on them. Put some on the Panthers to three Pete. That could be a fun way to make some bread. Uh the next one though, I really do like a lot. Southeast division winner plus $1,100. 10 bucks on that will get you $110. Let’s go back to the view all futures here and let’s see who they actually have as a favorite to win the southeast division. So looks like the heat they have the Heat as third. The Magic are the odds on favorite at minus 185. The Hawks at plus 200 and then they got the Heat here at -100. Listen, it would not shock me at all if the Magic or Hawks finished with a better record than the Miami Heat. But on paper, you could put the Heat up with those teams. You know, you’re talking best player in the conference, okay, it’s probably Paulo Bonero. But I probably put B with the B second. You know, Tyler Herro is up there somewhere as well. Of course with Trey Young, Fran Vagner, Desmond Bane. So, a lot of good players in the division for sure. But I mean, it would not shock me if the Heat were better than these teams because yes, the Heat are going to Heat. But the Hawks are going to hawk and the Magic are going to magic, too. That’s not Let’s not act like these are some storied franchises that always know what the hell they’re doing, too. Of course, the Magic should be better. They had a lot of injuries last year. You expect them to be more healthy. The addition of Desmond Bane is phenomenal. their younger players will get better and of course the Atlanta Hawks had a great off seasonason too with Porzingis and Aquil Alexander Walker they got Luke Canard as well but you know another year Zachary Reese Jaylen Johnson’s back healthy so I get why the hea third I’m not going to lie to you but just at a plus 1100 odds you know what do we say you could put even if you want to put five bucks to make $55 come on I I don’t think you can pass it up personally uh let’s see what other bets they have for the Miami Heat here they have them to win the NBA Cup tournament winner plus 600. The Miami Heat are not going to care about that. I don’t think they have any shot of winning that. Uh and then to win their group East uh group C winner at plus 500. Yeah, I just had to Google who was in the Heats group for the NBA Cup. That’s how little I care that I have no idea. They got the Knicks, Bucks, Bulls, Heat, and Hornets. Yeah, I mean I I don’t expect the Heat to win this group just because of the Knicks. I actually think the Knicks are going to have a very very good season. And so yeah, I get why the Heat are heavy underdogs in the NBA Cup. Plus 500 on that one does seem a little bit low to me. 10 bucks will win you 50. That bet in particular is not my favorite. Uh and I think we did skip over the Eastern Conference winner at plus 3,800. Uh 10 bucks will get you 380. So that would be a pretty nice payout. But we can go ahead and skim through the rest of the NBA futures real quick. Uh of course the Thunder are the odds on favorite to repeat. They are plus odds though, so you can make a decent amount of money there. 10 would you 20 10 would win you 23. Uh outside of them I kind of love the Denver Nuggets cuz honestly I think they might be my overall pick. And at plus uh 850 10 bucks can win you 85. I do think that’s a very safe bet somehow. The 76ers are above the heat. What the hell? If you love losing money, smash the 76ers to win the NBA finals really to win anything. I think that team’s going to suck once again. I I don’t get that one at all. But yeah, and then we we looked at the Eastern Conference here, too. Yeah, they even have the 76ers as what’s that? The sixth best team. I don’t get it. Every year the 76ers fumble and everyone still thinks they’re going to be good. I don’t understand. Listen, we all know that the national media likes to hate the Heat. I guess Vegas does, too. And that’s good news cuz that means that us us common folk could take advantage of that right there. Then, of course, they have the uh the regular season wins for all these other teams. Maybe we’ll go through this in a future video as we get closer to the season. Maybe we could build a fun little parlay, like a 20 leg parlay, just picking all these teams, whether they’d make the playoffs or not. That’d be something really, really fun that we can do in the future. But overall, some really nice bets that I like here for the Miami Heat. And I actually do want to check the Miami Dolphins as well, which I was skimming through a bit earlier. They do have their lineup for the preseason game uh in about a week here. I’m not betting on preseason because we don’t know who the hell’s going to play right now, but they do have week one available in which the Miami Dolphins are a Okay, so they’re actually both for the money line here with the Colts, but it looks like the Colts are one and a half point favorite right here. So, uh it’ll be interesting to see. I don’t know. I don’t know if I feel comfortable betting game one for the Dolphins just because we don’t know what type of team is going to show up this season. But what I am a little bit interested in is the regular season wins. They actually do let you bet over three and a half wins, which should be a lock. You never know with the fins, but you probably wouldn’t win much. Yeah, 10 bucks will win you 71 cents. That I don’t think is good value. But where I actually do they have the how many wins they’re actually going to have for the season? I think it was like seven or eight and a half. Uh I’m sure it’s here somewhere. I don’t want to spend uh forever going through all the props here because they have a ton, which is one of the great things about FanDuel. uh when you really have some time, I highly recommend just sitting through and seeing all the different fun bets that they have. And I’m definitely going to have to do that at a later date. But personally me, I think the Dolphins might win eight or nine games. So if I want to go over seven and a half, you can get plus odds on that. Wow. Plus odds for the Dolphins to win eight games, that’s still under 500. 10 bucks here when you 10 bucks cuz Yeah, they’re plus 100. I like that a lot. I’m not going to lie to you. In fact, I might throw a decent amount of money on a betting slip here. We’ll get a little parlay going. We’ll go back to the Miami Heat. Do Dolphins over seven and a half wins and then Miami Heat to make the playoffs, right? Where’s that one at here? Make the playoffs. Yes, you can get two odds here. That’d be plus 316 overall on the two-leg parlay. 10 bucks to win you $31. That’s the type of bet that I’m talking about, ladies and gentlemen. Once again, not financial advice, but uh if I was going to, this is what I would tell y’all to bet right there. But it’s definitely going to be a fun season with FanDuel. I’m looking forward to checking in all year long, especially with the NFL season starting up very soon. And I do also want to stress the importance of betting responsibly, something that I take very serious. I know there may be a handful of people watching this video that may not enjoy it because they’re not a fan of sports gambling. And I completely understand that to each their own. But there is ways to do this safely. For example, me personally, I keep a spreadsheet of all of my withdrawals and deposits so I know exactly how much money is going into my sports betting. I almost never bet more than $5. You never want to chase your losses. Meaning, if you happen to have a loss, don’t bet double on your next bet because then you end up losing more and more. So, you want to be very careful with that. And most importantly, don’t bet more than you can afford to lose. You know, you’re supposed to keep it fun. And that’s what it is for me for all the reasons that I mentioned earlier. It’s something that that I just enjoy doing. You know, some people like to go out to the club and spend money on drinks and all that other stuff. And I don’t do that. I like to sit home, watch sports, and throw a little bit of of money on it just to make it fun. Uh, and just the sense of community along with it. You know, the group chat with the boys and all that stuff. It’s just something that I enjoy doing when you do it responsibly. And of course, if you do have a gambling problem, make sure to look up the hotline. Of course, there there’s many of them that you can reach out to if you need some help.
