NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors August 3, 2025 | 2025 NBA Season Live 2K
Heat. Heat. N. These teams are fierce rivals. Oh, yes they are. BA, I love playing in these type of games. I mean, the fans are extra loud. The players are fired up. But this will be fun. The starters for the Golden State Warriors, Curry and Heel to the sharp shooting back court. Inside it’s Green next to Jackson Davis and it’s Butler in at the small forward position. Now here’s Reeds and count it. The shot is good and he’ll go to the line. That’s with the foul there. Aton’s powerful on the inside at 72. He’ll go through you. Los Angeles shooting their first free throw of the game. First personal foul. First team foul. at the line for one. DeAndre A [Applause] and that one misses. All right, guys. We’re lucky to have Shams Chirania joining us now, our 2K insider calling in with a story. What do you got, Shams? Thanks. And this summer saw the passing of Laker legend, threetime basketball hall of famer, the logo Jerry West, an all-star every year of his outstanding playing career before going on to have such a successful career as a coach and as an executive. Guys, this league will bear his imprint forever. Jerry West will be an alltime great. Okay, Shams, thank you. Here’s Golden State. It’s a five-point game. Pass to Jackson Davis. Back to Curry. [Applause] [Music] James against Green. [Applause] Here’s Heel. Connects on the foul line. Jumper. Well, he’s a good shooter from the mid-range. Heel had some breathing room, took a deep breath, and fired. All right, let’s check in with Ally Leforce. I did briefly speak with JJ Reic. I asked him about Jimmy Butler and what his defensive scheme is for him and coach said to not let him bully us from the interior and mid-range. We want to push him as far out as possible. We have to play tough. Let’s see if they’re able to accomplish this guys. As always, Ally, we thank you. The Warriors have gone one for three so far. James with a steal down low. Here’s Donic. Here’s Aiden. And there’s two. Work on the glass. Pay it off that time. Now if Aton continues to play with that kind of effort possession by possession, he’s a real tough cover. Outside Green puts up a three and the three-pointer goes. Defensively, you have to stay connected to them on the perimeter. For Los Angeles, they’ve gone four of five so far. looking sharp. Aimura outside. Back to Reeves. Dayton. The screen on heel from deep. Reeves. Rebounded by Green. Warriors trail by five. Here’s Butler. Donic pulls down the board. Los Angeles has gone two for three from outside the arc. Here’s James. The layup misses. The Warriors have gone two for five here in the first. [Applause] Heel passes to Curry. No good there. Aim Mura with the defensive effort. Los Angeles leading by five. Here’s Reeves. Wasted no time with that shot, but it’s off the mark. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for the Warriors. And he’s going for the lob. Yeah, even though he can pull up from anywhere, you love that he’s always looking to find a shot for his teammate. Curry against Donic. Reeves with a screen on Curry. And here’s Donic outside and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Warriors trail by three. Curry looking it over. Pass to Butler. over Reeves. The shot by Butler. No good. Well, that mid-range Jay usually pretty much on the money. Maybe the timing just a little bit off on that one. And with the stuff with a finish by Aton using those long arms to snatch that pass up high and Steve calls timeout here. We might see him looking to make some tweaks to the strategy here. trying anything now to get them out of this slump. Well, they can’t find the net right now and all they need, I think, is just to get [Applause] Butler finds Curry, [Applause] lets it fly, and he wills that one in. Sinking it right through the back of the iron. One of the more skilled offensive players that it’s on the floor here tonight. Not an easy fella to hold in check. Donic passes to Reeds. Back to Donic and that one drops for him. Donic has got five down. Oh my. Tight defense, but Donic just muscles it in. Pass to Jackson Davis. Heel to the ball outside. Curry. [Applause] Green. A screen. And that’s going to be a travel [Applause] ball. [Applause] [Music] Donic with it. He’s got five. Eight. A screen on Curry. And here’s Donic outside. Oh my. Came close to a four-point play. He’ll head to the line for three free throws. as this team’s offensive catalyst. Donic puts pressure on the defense every possession. And let’s quickly check out the scoring breakdown here for the Lakers. They’ve done a great job facilitating so far. So moving the rock and finding the open man. Just great selfless basketball. Yeah, getting to the inside is really important, but it’s how close you can get to the basket. It feels like these guys are all around the rim in their attack tonight. and he hits the first of three. In 2024, Luca Donuch recorded six consecutive 30point triple double games. That’s right, BA. The first time anyone has done it in NBA history. So, if you didn’t already believe in Luca Magic, well, there’s some proof that the magic is real. [Applause] [Music] No good on the second free throw. And when you look back at the 2023 draft, the Warriors got great value out of their picks. Yeah, I mean, they got Pajimsky with the 19th pick, a versatile player who impacts the game at both ends. And they also got Trace Jackson Davis late in the second round. And he is a fundamentally sound big man with great upside. And he nails the third. Brad, how about that in season tournament win for the Lakers in 2024. Yeah, honestly it just makes sense that the first of those trophies would land with a historic franchise like the Lakers. A shot by Butler. No good. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. Now here’s Reeds. Pass to Aimura. Donic deciding where to go with it. Just five on the clock. Aton the screen on Curry to the paint and Eightton with the stuff. Set a rugged screen. Nice roll by Eton to get to the bucket. And so Curry will bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. They trail by nine. Here’s Jackson Davis who’s covered by Aiden. Pass to Butler from the ark. Sinks it from distance. of all the action happening there, it’s the assist that jumps out to me there. That’s just a great look and a great setup for the bucket. Now here’s Aiden. Give him eight points now from deep Reeves. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Warriors trail by six. Up top, Curry guarded by Donic. Jackson Davis down low. There’s the triple offensive board and it’s flush down. A nice jab. Oh my, what a display of effort. That’s his bread and butter, right? Chasing down the boards. Stick with fundamentals there. Shot goes up. Box out or he’ll destroy you. Trace Jackson Davis. One shot. [Applause] [Music] And Graham, despite the Warriors success over the last decade, it hasn’t always been this way for this franchise. Yeah, they didn’t have many winning seasons before they got Steph, Clay, and Dre. And you know, BA, from 1978 to 2012, they made the playoffs just six times. James goes to the reverse layup and drops it in and the Lakers lead by five. Look with the size and athleticism of [Applause] Warriors trail by five. Pass to Jackson Davis. [Applause] Back to heel. [Applause] The Lakers with a rebound. Now Reeves to the inside. James passes to Aiden. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. Here’s Heield. Donic pulls down the board. The Lakers lead by five. James inside. Green covering. James against Green. James outside bearing his second of three attempts. That’s been the story of their offense so far. Getting a number of looks from point blank range. Gives us a chance to catch up with Alli Leforce. Well, LeBron James last season set the record for most All-Star nods in NBA history. He said, quote, “I’m blessed to do what I love and just to try to give back to the game that’s given to me over two decades. Long ago, I exceeded anything I ever dreamed of being in the NBA. Everything else is just extra credit.” Brian, thanks, Ally. So, it’s the Lakers now after the Warriors picking up a basket just a moment ago. For him, it’s harder to miss that shot than it is to make that shot. I think he was anticipating a bit of a bump there. Pass to Jackson Davis. Back to Green. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. And now just a three-point Los Angeles lead. Well, Draymond’s energy. Guess what? It’s here. It’s in the game right now. And he’s attacking. Eight. The screen on heel. Here’s Donic. [Music] Payton with a screen for the three and Donic with the three. Donic has got 10 points in the game. Encouraging to see Donic sink the three. Needs to keep doing this now. Pass to Jackson Davis outside Butler. The three is up. Counted. Make that three of seven so far for him. And both teams running long range plays that are working well. Both of them looking towards the three-point line. I like to see that. Vanderbilts checked in for DeAndre Aiden. Connect comes in for Aim Mura. Vincent’s checked in for Reeves and Smart subbed in for Luca Donuch. And the Warriors will go with a different look here. Dominga, he’s checked in for Jackson Davis. Payton comes in for Draymond Green. Moody’s checked in for Heield. And it’s Brandon Pajimsky in for Curry. Now here’s Vincent. Gets a hand on it. Oh, he hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points and the Lakers lead by five. Great effort to turn the miss into two points. Yes, sir. Those are the hustle points from the elbow. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. Brett, you think about Jimmy Butler, great in the regular season, even better in the playoffs. Yeah. Extremely tough. I mean, he has grit and resilience, but tough minded in the toughest moments. And that’s where his teammates rely on him. Jimmy Butler shows up big come playoff time. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. now well into his 30s. Is it fair to start wondering how many seasons Jimmy Butler has left, Grant? Well, it’s a fair question, BA, but at the same time, Jimmy’s hunger is just so different than everybody else’s, which I could see helping prolong his career. Butler hits them both. One thing this Golden State team does very well is control the offensive glass. Well, there’s been a lot of talk analytically, BA, about how advantageous it is to come in and swoop through to grab offensive rebounds. Golden State has bought into that philosophy. They also have guys who take a lot of long shots, so that’s long rebounds with a better chance of gaining an extra possession. So, some smart analytical play here than Golden State in the past couple season. Benson can’t hit and even though he couldn’t send the shot back at him, he certainly altered it. Yeah, that’s the kind of energy that you want to see on every possession throughout the game. And Kuminga throws it down. Just flawless timing right there. Right. The dish, the catch, the flush, the whole thing was perfect. Just James on the wing [Applause] to the middle and the ball out of play. The Warriors will have it. And some changes here for the Lakers. Hayes has checked in for James and Donuch has subbed in for Vincent. Santos has checked in for the Warriors. Curry comes in for Payton. And Curry’s got the ball here for the Warriors. They trail by one. [Applause] Pass to Pajimsky. Now here’s Kaminga. [Applause] Right side. Curry. Kaminga with a screen on Smart. Curry passes to Kaminga. And that one makes him two for two. He’s in his rhythm. That’s how you run the pick and roll. You have to respect Stephing the ball. And then he just slices the D up with the pass. And here’s Donic. 10 points for him from downtown. Santos pulls it in. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. About 7 seconds separating the shot and game clocks outside. Kaminga with a screen on Donic. Back to Kaminga and Kuminga throws it down. And they keep trading punches. Both teams in a groove early. Who’s going to miss first? Every time one team scores, the other team right back at you, man. Showing some terrific range. Donic has got 13 now. Oh, what a performance by Luca Donic. He has been the story for Los Angeles. He dropped three threes in that quarter. They haven’t found an answer for him yet. We’ll be back in a moment. [Applause] Some good action already in this one, but a fairly even matchup after this first quarter of play and from what we’ve seen from the Lakers. What’s your take so far? Well, it seems like they went in looking to do damage from long range and they faced little resistance. Pretty prime example here of how to space the floor and do it correctly. When you do it, that’s the kind of thing that happens. Los Angeles has gone four of nine so far from the perimeter. Luca Donic is out there with Marcus Smart. Then there’s Jared Vanderbilt. Then it’s connect and it’s Hayes in at the five. That’s the group for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter. And their offense tonight is Luca, Luca, and more Luca. When he’s on, it’s an opponent’s worst nightmare. Curry passes to Kaminga. [Applause] Outside Moody. Pass to Peyton. Outside. Pajki. Clock at four. Second chance effort. Oh, a strong finish from Curry. That’s tremendous balance. Steph’s ability to keep his composure in that tough situation, work in a tight space. That’s impressive. [Applause] Pass to Donic. That’s in coming off an assist from Smart. 17 points in the game. I love the aggressiveness. He’s been on fire the entire first half and continues to strike while the iron’s hot. Kuminger the pass to Curry outside. Pajki Payton with a screen on Donic right side. Payton outside. Booty. Here’s Pensky. He hits it just before the shot clock expires. [Applause] Well, Los Angeles shooting has been great this game. 58% pass to Vanderbilt. And here’s Smart. Kicks it to Dodgers. The Luca three. Lonnie. Well, Brent, as you know, finding success in the NBA, is largely dependent on the situation. NBA, you’re hitting the nail on the head. You can’t get frustrated as a player, especially a young one that comes into the league and doesn’t have an opportunity right away to play. You’ve got to work on your skills, stay confident, and at some point when you get your opportunity, whether it’s the team you’re with or in a trade, you’re going to have a chance to show that you belong in the lead. Now here’s Smart. He’s scoreless. Pass to Donic. Back to Smart. Here’s Connect. Hayes. The pass to Vanderbilt. Just five to shoot. And here’s Dantic outside. Can’t get it to drop. The Warriors have gotten three or four field goals in the second quarter. Now here’s Curry defended by Smart. Payton against Vanderbilt. Down low. The kick out. Curry launches it. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Their biggest lead of the game was nine. [Applause] Pass to Hayes. Donic outside. Smart finds Vanderbilt. Kuminga against Hayes. And here’s Donic outside. The rebound by Moody. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in the second quarter. The shot by Pajimky. No good. Los Angeles has gone five of 12 from three-point range tonight. Donic passes to Smart. [Music] pays for a screen on Curry. And there’s the lob. It’s stolen. Curry at the rim. Well, you give Curry a point blank shot. That’s just too easy. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for Los Angeles. Trailing by two. Hayes with a screen. to the inside. It’s stolen by Kuminga. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. Here’s Pachimski. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. That’s his first that one on Donic. I like that. I mean, some physical play inside. He’s not about to give up any easy baskets. Two shots. [Applause] [Applause] First one falls for him. What a rookie year for Brandon Pajimsky. A seamless transition into the league. You talk about a guy who could come in and contribute right away. I remember the stretch last year he had three straight games with double doubles without a turnover. Now that’s some heady play for a rookie. PMski. He’s got a great calmness and a great demeanor about him, but always willing to make the next play. So, he makes one of two and the second one misses. You know, Grant, after losing in the first round last season, it felt like changes were inevitable for the Lakers. Yeah, making the playoffs isn’t enough for that franchise. They are all about championship success, and anything short of that is a failure. Pass to Aiden. Clock at six. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock to snap to Cold Street. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Jackson Davis has got his fifth rebound in this one. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] To the paint. Domingo shot is off. Well, a lot of players in the league are going to make that shot and for him it’s pretty much automatic. It’s a good defensive effort to prevent the layup and Aiden gets it to go. Ah the classic big man play there just pushing right past the defense finishing strong. Outside Pajki pass to Jackson Davis. Fires from deep. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Yeah and the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line. Reeves finds Aiden. Now Vanderbilt Aiden with it [Applause] and here’s Donic outside and it’s Stephen Curry with the rebound. Just enough of a shot contest to bother. Now here’s heel uncovered that drops and it comes off an assist from Curry. Curry’s got three assists in the game. Buddy does such a great job of preparing his shot even before he gets the ball. Now here’s Reeves. Aton a screen on heel. Reeves with the ball. Kuminga defends with his first shot attempt. Jackson Davis grabs the miss. The Warriors lead by three. Outside Pajki. [Applause] [Music] Heel against Reeves. Inside here’s Curry and the Lakers with a rebound. Aiden’s got four rebounds in the game. Here’s Donic and he trains the quick shot. Donic has got 22 points. And there’s Luca, one of the most entertaining players in the league. Outside Kaminga. [Applause] Back to Curry. Deflects the pass. It’s stolen by Smart. Pass to Vanderbilt. Now Reeves. Donic outside. Fires from the wing and he comes up with a bucket. Donic has got 11 points in the quarter. Well, this is a gravity game right now. Whatever he throws up must come down. He’s having a great game. It’s Pimsky on the wing. He passes to Kaminga and here’s Curry for three. Easy money for Stephen Curry. This is just not a surprise. Steph Curry is having a massive offensive game. And we’ve got a timeout call by JJ Reick. He wants to review the game plan. And Brent, you’ve always seen the flag. Aimura comes in for Smart. Green’s checked in for the Warriors. Butler comes in for Stephen Curry. [Applause] Aiden finds Aimura. Butler with a steal. The gritty finish from Butler there. All right, guys. Let’s get your take on the hustle stats for the Warriors. I must say their defensive intensity has been impressive so far. Really making it hard for the offense to hold on to the ball. And they’ve sort of assumed control of this game with their pressure defensively. They’ve been into the ball handler. They’ve done a great job of swarming. So they’re creating some turnovers, but they’re capitalizing on. So weird sometimes when you get that much time, it can throw you off just as much as having no time. [Applause] Rebound the Lakers outside Reeves. Here’s Aimura. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Well, the compromised defense happened because of the attacking mentality of Hajimura. It’s his first trip to the line. at the line for Los Angeles. Ruy Pamora. Two shots. [Applause] First free throw is good. [Applause] And both free throws good for Aimura. You know, not too many teams have the stability at head coach as the Warriors have had. Brent, well, I’m not sure there’s ever been a more perfect fit for a team than Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors. It has been a magical run in the Bay Area. And you just look at the type of connectivity he has with his players and again how much joy these Warriors play with. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. Brian, the Warriors play a unique style predicated on passing and cutting off the ball. Stephen Curry said the main goal is to just force the defense to make as many decisions as he can. So with all that ball movement and body movement, they’re going to mess up at some point. Brian, well, it helps having a weapon like Stephen Curry. Thanks, Ally. [Applause] The first free throw is good. Vincent checked in for Los Angeles. And Golden State also making a switch. Kumingas checked in. on the miss. [Applause] And both free throws good for Aimura. And so it’s Butler who brings up the ball for the Golden State Warriors. Outside Green stolen by Aidton. [Applause] Here’s Reeves with the drive and it’s in there. Reeves has got five points. Golden State has gone two of four from the perimeter in the second so far. Back to Heel. [Applause] Launches a three. He buries it from three. He’s got five points now in the quarter. Well, he can make a living out there from behind the arc. Doesn’t need a lot of room to get his shot off and he drains that one with ease. Now, here is James. Aton controls the rebound and the put back and the Lakers lead by one. Neither side willing to relive. That’s led to eight lead changes and a bunch of drama already. Butler taking his time here. Takes the contact and delivers. Jimmy Butler and Butler just taking that motion right through contact. Vincent passes to Reeds. Back to Vincent. [Music] Lets it go from deep. Reigns the triple. Vincent’s got his second basket. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. That’s one that the coaches will watch tomorrow with that player. You hate to see him give up in that situation. Now, here’s Kaminga. He’s got six. Ooh, good work on the interior from Butler. Jimmy Butler is in the zone and he keeps finding shots. Los Angeles has gone six of 14 from the perimeter tonight. Tries to save it. James against Green and he lobbs it up to the rim and it goes out of bounds. That one off Green. A sloppy turnover. When you’re not locked in, you pay the price. [Applause] 107 left to play in the half. Reeves the pass to Aiden. Benson outside 43. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Healed for three. And the Warriors get it back outside. Kaminga. Pass to Heel. Three-pointer. Offensive rebound. Butler out working everybody. Jimmy Butler. Yeah, Butler does the things on offense, but it’s the dirty work, the loose balls, the extra possessions that he gives you on deep that’s special. Out to Aimura. Fires the three, nails it from three. Aimura’s got seven points for the quarter. Oh man, this has been an absolute battle in the first half. Each team trying to establish itself. The lead just keeps going back and forth. Reeves against Butler. Green with a screen on Reeves. Healed for three. No good. As a big Once you get positioned inside, it allows you to fight and come away with a lot of tough boards. Oh, what a performance by Luca Donic. He has been the story for the Los Angeles Lakers. 11 points in the quarter. He’s on fire. All right, we’ll get back to the action after this break. was always [Music] now. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hey, hey, [Music] hey. [Music] And after a fairly even first couple of quarters, this second half could turn out to be a great one as both teams trying to gain an edge. Boy, really an incredible game here from Luca Donic. And the bulk of his production has been generated along the perimeter. Yeah, he keeps tracking down those spots behind the three-point line and and finding some open opportunities. [Applause] [Applause] The Lakers in the lead kicking off the second half. Here’s Steve Kur five inside. It’s Green next to Jackson Davis. Curry and Heel to the sharp shooting back court and it’s Butler in at the three. The small forward. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. Now here’s Curry. Puts up a deep three. Oh, Curry doing what he does best. It doesn’t matter. I mean, once Steph Curry crosses half court, you’re in trouble. Brent, you could hit the three back in your day and no doubt Stephen Curry is the best three-point shooter in league history. What makes him so good from deep? To me, BA, it comes down to the way that Steph goes about his habits in practice. If you ever watch footage of him in pregame warm-ups or in the off season, there is so much variability in what he does in terms of preparing his feet and hands to shoot the basketball. There’s no one that practices the way that Steph does. There’s no one that produces the way that he does either. Let’s talk about Draymond Green for a moment. Certainly one of the most outspoken players in the league. Well, Draymond has never held back whether he’s talking about his opinion or the way that he sees the game, which is remarkable and a revelation to his intelligence as a defender on the floor. Draymond Green has been special on the defensive end throughout his career. Free throw good. Green Grant. When you look at Draymond Green’s career, you think he’s going to the Hall of Fame? You know, BA, I believe so. He’s won multiple titles and we know how impactful he has been as a defender and distributor especially. I think we’ll see him in Springfield one day. That one’s no good. Yeah. What really sets Draymond apart is that tenacity. I mean, he never stops fighting you. I mean, any second he’s on the floor, he’s competing and he’s coming at you. Neil comes for the double and the ball is tied up. So, we’ll have a jump ball. That’s a jump ball. [Applause] James against heel. James double team. Five to shoot from deep. Here’s Donic. That falls. Nice speed that time from James. And give Luca the ball and you know what happens next. Instantly he finds the shot. Outside heel the three gets rebounded by Los Angeles. Aiden’s got rebound number nine now. What an effort here tonight. James can’t get it to go. Golden State has gone seven for 17 from three-point range so far in this matchup. Butler with the bucket. Jimmy B doing his work there, challenging in the lane. And Reeves has got the ball here for the Lakers. Donic. A screen on heel. James outside from outside. Off the mark. The Warriors have got two of three from the floor in this third quarter. Green the pass to Curry. Wow. Green with a screen on Donic. And here’s Curry for three. Machimura with a rebound. The Lakers trail. Pass to Reeves. Aiden with it. Covered by Jackson Davis. Goes up on the wing. Warriors with the rebound. Green’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Donic against Butler. [Applause] [Music] Jackson Davis’s screen. Throws it up high. Oh, it’s stolen by Aimura down low. Oh, two vicious points from the King. And the defense making it too easy for LeBron James. Can’t let him get that close. Golden State is gone. Only one of three from deep here in the third. Outside Green. Takes the three and it’s healed. Missing. Well, he’s using the force but in the worst way possible right now. He just needs to dial it back and look to work the ball around the floor to his teammates. Well, the Warriors shooting around 51%. That’s a good number. Butler can’t get it to go. He’s got a nice feel for that crossover, but you still have to finish. But the lead out of bounds, it’ll be Warriors ball. [Applause] And here are the Warriors. Now, since halftime, they’ve only allowed five points. Green against James. Here’s Curry. Stephen Curry, what a shot maker. Keep for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten only two of seven shots to go in the third quarter. Pass to Reeves. Donic outside. [Applause] It’s rebounded by Golden State. [Applause] Curry with it. 17 points in the game. Oh, and he got fouled on his way out. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s on LeBron James. And taking a quick look here at the hustle stats for the Warriors. Yeah, they’ve collected an impressive number of steals so far, using fast hands to force some turnovers and then scoring on the other end. You also have to admire the way they’ve gotten out and run in transition. And they’ve run wide. They’ve run their lanes. They’ve been doing it with a great pace and that’s produced some easy scores. And he makes a first. Well, Brent, it’s been a blessing to watch Stephen Curry in real time. But he’s the kind of player his highlights will stand the test of time for years. The best shooter that’s ever played the game. Yes, it’s been a real treat, BA, to watch all of that happen. But got to give credit to Steph. the early part of his career shaky with the injuries. The confidence never wavered and then all of the sudden behind these magical hands the game had changed. A great player on a great role at the charity stripe has got to be careful about being too aggressive on him and sending him back. Oh wow. Set him up and let LeBron finish. Yeah, LeBron on the alleyoop. Great getting loose on the backside and what a pass. The Warriors have gone three of seven here in this third quarter. Pass to Jackson Davis. Butler with the ball [Applause] inside. Jimmy Buckets. Defense had the right idea there, but maybe not enough time in the weight room. Butler right through that. And here’s Aiden outside. Reeves fires for three. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Jackson Davis has got nine rebounds now. Heel passes to Butler. Pass to Green. The kick out. Curry. This one for three. Knocks down the triple. And it’s a seven-point Warrior lead. Curry doing it again. One of the quickest releases we’ve ever seen. Donic finds Reeves. Now here’s Dantic. 27 points for him to the middle. Eightton inside. Jackson Davis on him. And that one’s good. Eighton’s got 14 points. Such a tremendous physical profile that Aton has. He’s getting it done down low. Outside Green. Back to Curry. Pass to Jackson Davis. Just four to shoot. Heel for three and eight pulls it down. Sometimes you just have an off night, guys. And that’s what we’ve seen so far. Reeves the pass to Donic. [Applause] Jacks up a three. Long target from range. Dona just has got six here in the corner. That’s one of the best three-point shooters. Got to try to scramble the jets right here and get that guy off the sweet spot. Green with a screen on Donic. Outside Curry up and over Donic and again it’s Golden State. Well, those mechanics and that kind of time. That’s pretty stuff from Steph Curry. And so JJ Reick calls for the timeout. He wants a few moments to regroup with his players. Man, it’s been quite a game for Stephen Curry with the perimeter D struggling. [Applause] Come on. Leave it. James double team pass to Donic. Shot clock at six. Outside Reeves no good with the triple. The Warriors lead by four. Healed from outside and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry’s got four assists in the game. Yeah, I know you want to focus on the shooting with Steph, but man, he’s going to make plays, too. Donic passes to Reed. Now James, LeBron buries the three. These teams are finding the range, showing a lot of confidence. It seems like they’re going to find out who can make the deepest threes. Right now, it’s a shootout. They set the pick from deep. Offensive rebound. Well, the D really getting away with one there. No one on him. And that’s going to be good. Nine out of 10 times. That one no good. Ooh, good work defensively by Butler. [Music] To the paint. Here’s Kuminga. Kuminga soarses in for the slam. Man, he makes it look easy. And he’s battling for everything. Doing all he can to help extend their lead. Just throwing down the putback with authority. A team’s having a tough time containing him. Attacking all the way there. [Applause] Aiden with a screen. Here’s Donic. The layup off target. The Warriors lead by six. Outside Curry. Pass to Kaminga. The shot inside. Oh, Kaminga just a menace inside. That’s excellent. Get the ball down deep inside and cash in on a simple basket. Donic outside. Kuminga against James to the inside. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot him there. Unable to simply overwhelm people the way he did in college just because of his size. Aton has done a much better job just staying patient. Great pump there. [Applause] And he can’t get the first one. Well, Aiden and efficiency go hand in hand. I mean, this guy’s field goal percentage is on cloud9. And the Lakers with some changes. Connect comes in for Reeves. And Vincent is subbed in for Luca Donuch. Good on the second one. The Warriors lead by seven. Outside Pajki. Pass to Kaminga. Oh, rejected by Aiden. Nice timing as Aiden’s up there for the rejection. Count it. And one. He’ll have a chance in the three-point play. It goes on Brandon Pajinski. He’s getting his first free throw attempt of the game here. The Lakers making a switch here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. Personal foul. Second team foul at the line for Los Angeles. Marcus Smart. One shoting [Applause] one. [Applause] big. That one misses for Smart. The Warriors shooting has been good. Around 52% from the field. Outside. Moody lets a three fly. Benson grabs a miss. Lakers trail by five. Pass to Smart. Back to Vincent. Now James defended by Pajimsky. Here’s connect. Here’s the three. James passes to Benson. Second shot opportunity. Out to James. [Music] [Applause] goes up again. Some solid defense from Butler. The Warriors lead by five. But Grant, even though it looks like LeBron could play forever, he stated that he doesn’t have much time left. Well, it’s unbelievable that he sustained this level of excellence for as long as he has. I would be surprised if you see this type of longevity ever again. Well, the Lakers shooting just about 33% since this second half started. Benson right side. Has to connect. [Music] James left side down to five on the shot clock. Some solid defense from Butler. Well, the Warriors shooting about 53% on the third. A very good number. Here’s Moody. He makes it from the left blocky and now it’s a nine-point Warrior lead. Enzel Smart will bring it up for Los Angeles. Shot clock and game clock separated by less than 6 seconds. James outside. That’s in coming off an assist from Smart. James has got 10 points in just the second half. outside. But Buckler, two on the clock, no good at the rim. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors with a six-point lead at the close of the quarter. And it’s all due to their ability to own the paint. They’ve been dominant down low. Back to the game after this break. [Applause] And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. Woo! I’m fired up to see this dish one more time. It’s always great to see your two guards share the wealth. Sometimes that’s what can separate some of the best players, not just creating for yourself, but creating for others as well. Man, I know I speak for all of us when I say I can’t wait to see what kind of finish awaits us here in the fourth quarter. They’ve got Jackson Hayes. Connect is out there with Jared Vanderbilt. Then it’s Luca Donic and it’s Vincent in at the point guard position. That’s the Laker five. [Applause] Here’s connect Moody defends. Here’s Donic and good. Got the friendly bounce off the right side of the rim. Donic has got 32 points in the game. Outside Curry [Applause] outside Moody. Six on the shot clock. Here’s Kuminga. They get it again. And Kuminga throws it down. crashes the glass with authority, then puts it back strong. Next level, man. This guy’s just going out and making a play. Hayes with a screen on Curry. Here’s Vincent. Gets the three ball to go. And the defense is looking almost lost on the perimeter. That opens up a quality three-point shot and he delivers. Well, you concern yourself with the other guys who you think are going to damage you, and he stepped up and delivered that huge three-point shot. Outside, Curry fires the three. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Lakers trail by three. Now, Donic. Luca on the attack. Luca is so skilled at using his body to create good looks inside. right here on the wing. Curry. He’s covered by Vincent. Oh, he muscles it in through the contact. They call the foul and he’s on his way to the line with a tough road ahead. They worked hard to get a good shot. First team foul at the line for the Warriors. Stephen Curry at the line for one. [Applause] [Applause] Yeah, so easy to root for Stephen Curry because of how much fun he seems to have on the floor. embraces the competition, is able to laugh it off when something doesn’t go his way. A lot of things do though. Left side PMski. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. And here’s Benson [Music] and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. Stephan Curry. That’s his second personal foul. First team foul at the line for Los Angeles. Gave Benson. Two shots. [Applause] and he drops a first. Reeves has checked in for Los Angeles. The Warriors also with a sub. Heels checked in for Payton. [Applause] [Music] That one falls. So he hits both of them. We’re in the fourth quarter here. Just under two and a half minutes gone by pass to Curry. Outside heel that drops and it comes off an assist from Curry. Curry’s got his fifth assist in this one. And defensively, how do you leave him that open in crunch time? Reeves the pass to Donic [Music] from deep three-point lands. Kuminga pulls it in. Kuminga’s got six rebounds now in the game to the paint. Here’s Pachki. That shot off the mark. Good D by Donic. Lakers trail by five on the wing. Reeves back to Donic over Kuminga. The Lakers with another miss. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in this quarter. And he’s going for the up. Wow. Kuminga playing way above the rim. And the lead increases on a crazy offensive sequence. Man, the dunk alone would have been incredible. Let alone the fact that it came off a pinpoint pass. Reed the pass to Vanderbilt and again the Lakers no good. The Warriors lead by seven. Inside Kuminga and the shot is good. Dropping in off the front of the rim. Kuminga’s got 10 points here in the second half and he gives up some size inside but makes a great adjustment on the finish. Yeah, the big man not going to slow him down from getting that deuce. Reeves the pass to Donic down low. Here’s Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt slams it in. A strong finish to cut into that lead a little and left no doubt with Alan Grant. Here’s Curry. Pass to Pajimsky from outside the ark. Rebound by the Lakers. Hayes has got four rebounds in the game. And here’s Dantric outside. Rebounded by Heield and the defense got away with one there. I mean, that’s a shot he typically makes. Curry finds Heel. And here’s Pachimsky. Guarded by Donuch. Kaminga with a screen on Donic. Pachinsky into the lane. Oh, great D that time from Donic. Lakers trail by seven. Reeves with the ball now guarded by Booty. Buddy Hill. That’s his second personal foul. Second team foul at the line for the Lakers. Austin Reeds taking two shots. The first one falls. Some changes for Los Angeles. Clea, he’s checked in for Hayes and connects subbed in for Vincent. Got to get it. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. The Warriors lead by five. Curry with it outside. Curry. A screen on Reeves. Back to Curry. Shot clock at five. It’s rebounded by Cleba and Reeves has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers to the middle. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That’s his first personal foul. Third team foul at the line for Los Angeles. Jared Vanderbilt taking two shots. [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. So both teams changing it up here. [Applause] rebound. Got to get it. Let’s get it. Get it. Get it. And Vanderbilt drops them both. The Warriors lead by three. Pass to Jackson Davis. Back to Curry. And here is Kaminga. Curry with it. And Aiden pulls it down. The Lakers have got four of eight shots to drop here in this final quarter. James passes to Vanderbilt from deep. Here’s Donic. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Outside Curry pass to Kuminga to the inside the fader and Butler the bucket on the assist by Kuminga. Butler’s got 26. Butler can’t get into the paint. He’s got some offensive options. He has the touch from the mid-range. [Applause] Reeves against Heel and they doubled up Donic. Five on the clock. Butler against James. Over Butler. James. That’s good. James has got 12 points here in the second half. Going to work now from the mid-range. LeBron’s going to take whatever the defense gives him. Outside heel. Oh, there’s the alley and it goes out of bounds. Last touch by Butler. Looked like a simple play and turned into a turnover. Can’t give away possessions like that. Aimura’s checked in for Vanderbilt. The Warriors also with a sub. Greens checked in for Kuminga. Lakers trail by three. Outside Reeves. Donic. A screen on heel. Pass to Aiden. James deciding where to go with it. Physical play by LeBron inside. They’ve still got work to do, but it’s impressive how they battled back. Finally got themselves in the trenches. Momentum completely shifted. Now we’ve got a tight one here in the final period. Now here’s Curry down low out to Heel. the three ball. Pure from three-point range. He’s got six here in the quarter. Yeah, draw the D in. Kick it out for the open shot. That’s taking a page straight out of your textbook. Well done. And he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. His third person. That one on healed. Well, that was clearly a foul. At the line for two, Austin Reeds. [Applause] And he drops a first. [Applause] You got it out. You got it out. And so Reeves nails both of them. Golden State has gone two of four from the perimeter here in the fourth quarter. Pass to Green. Back to Curry. The three is up. Another three for Golden State. Steph such an ideal pick and roll guy. The threat of the long ball always there. So whether he’s shooting or passing, the defense has a hard time keeping up. A three. James. That one falls. Great set up by Donic. Donic has got his fifth assist in this one. And out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. Los Angeles. [Applause] Reeves against heel outside Reeves. [Applause] Donic against Curry. Curry takes it in and he lays it up and in. Curry Curry’s got eight points here in the quarter. What work from Steph Curry gets open and makes it look easy. Wow. Re the pass to Donic. Two points. That one goes just got 36 points. Smart play call to get him something at the rim. Well, taking advantage of that opportunity. It does not get any more high percentage than that one. Curry passes to Heel. Green against Aimura beyond the arc. Curry no good. And he almost made them regret defending him so loosely to the paint. Oh, deflected. Aton throw it down. How about that? Aton showing why he was picked first overall. That’s a reason. Golden State has gone three of six from downtown so far in the fourth. And he loves it up top. Leaps for it and it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Curry. Man, the score being this close, you have to retain possession of the ball. You just can’t give it away like that. Big possession. They have a chance to take the lead. It’ll be interesting to see what they run. Here’s Donic. Donic throwing his weight around. Man, that was the right decision. When you’re in need of a bucket, you go to your most trusted guys. Yeah. whether it’s teammates or the coaching staff. Hopefully a combination of both, but gets close. He’s getting the ball. And the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. That one on Don. And let’s take a moment here to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for Los Angeles. Their offensive game plan has been simple. Look to shoot it often from outside the arc. And the results have been outstanding. Well, they’ve also put an emphasis on driving inside in this game. The defense hasn’t been able to stop them from finding those gaps. So, the first one drops and that narrows the gap to one [Applause] And so Curry nails both of them. In a close game, it’s great to have guys you can count on to knock down free throws. Curry against Donic. Donic is doubled over heels and it’s Donic missing. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for Golden State. Right side. Curry. Pass to Jackson Davis. Shoots it from the corner. That drops and it comes off an assist from Curry. Now you can tell Curry knows the angles. Smartly setting up another guy. The Lakers trail. A minute six left in the game. Donic with the bucket. Oh man, I’ll tell you what, the pressure is cranked up. Who better to call than this guy? Golden State has gone three of six from downtown so far in the fourth. Here’s Curry and Aiden pulls it down. 50 seconds left in the final quarter. James finds Donic out to James. Laces one from three. Wow, that takes steady nerves right there. Not backing down from this moment here. When the game is close, he kicks it up enough. And Steve K. [Applause] [Applause] He hits the first one and that puts him up five [Applause] and he cannot convert on the second. That misses and now we’ve got an intentional foul. His third personal foul. The team is in the at the line. He gets the first and that increases the lead to six. Second one is good. Getting both at the line and it’s a seven-point game. Yeah, the lead getting safer and safer as these free throws spread go. And the Warriors call time here. 29 seconds. Curry against Duchic. It falls. Oh, and that cuts the lead to just five. And so they foul intentionally [Applause] his fourth personal foul. [Applause] Good on the first and that increases the lead to six. So, he goes two for two at the line and it’s a seven-point game. And they have to know that any hope of a comeback is gone. Well, realistic at this stage of the game, they’re going to lose this one. But will they take something from the loss? Willing passers, unselfish play. You have to appreciate this kind of offense. And now they foul and stop the clock. And a smart choice right there. I mean, you can’t allow them to just drain the clock. And that hurts as he doesn’t get the first one the ball. Trying to focus now for the second. And he does get the second one. And that puts him up five. And the Warriors with possession outside Green. Off target with the three. And they go to the intentional foul. Green. That’s his second personal foul. First free throw is good. And that increases the lead to six. And so both free throws good and it’s a seven-point game. [Applause] So it’s Los Angeles.
