NBA Live! Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors | LeBron vs Curry | GS vs LA | NBA 2K25

Grant sitting at the midway point of the season now as a player. Does it feel that way or does one half drag on more than the other? You know, I’d say the back half can feel a little bit longer. Whether it’s games of consequence that magnify things or for teams lower down, maybe the season drags on at the end. And now the Los Angeles starters. Luca Donic is out there with Austin Reeves. Then it’s DeAndre Aton. Then there’s James and it’s Achimura in at the three, the small forward. And they pick up two. And it’s the level of creativity that separates LeBron. It’s second to none cuz he’s such an incredible ball handler also. Now here’s Curry against Chicago. He was really on his game. Let’s go with a three. Rebounded by the Lakers. victory eluded them the last time they faced the Warriors last game. Their starting lineup struggled to stay on the floor. It just put too much pressure on the bench. Expect to see them being much more careful tonight because of that. Maybe being a little less aggressive. Chalk up two there. How about the hustle from Donic? A winning player. And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. Four-point game. The three. LeBron with the rebound for Los Angeles. They’ve gone two of three from the floor outside. Reeves Aiden with a screen. Now here’s Reeves defended by Pajimsky. Well, you got to miss sometimes, but that one seemed like a gimme. Curry, Curry, Curry. Pass to Curry out to the right wing and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by James. Green with a screen on Aimura. Here’s Post. Clock at four. Over his career, DeAndre has done a great job improving his defense, learning how to use that lane. Back to Aimura. Donic outside beyond the ark. They get it back. Aton hits the layup after the sweet pump fake to freeze the D. Just taking it right to the rim and no one was there to greet him. Easy possessions like that literally are just a gift. You just dream of them. He’ll gladly take those. Here’s Post taking a look at his production. Averaging just over eight points a game. Oh wow. Okay, we’re going to start the game with four straight misses. Look, look, that’s about as rough as it gets. It’ll get going soon. Now here’s Dantic. Fades away. Warriors with the rebound. Well, they put up a nice win against Chicago last time out. What about their offense? It was a welloiled machine getting them high quality looks time and time again. The coaching staff has been happy with how well they’ve executed the game plan. They operated as a cohesive unit. Not sure there’s such a thing as a bad three for Steph. The Lakers lead by three. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. Steve Kerr gave me a few minutes to catch up with him. I asked coach what it’s like facing LeBron now versus earlier in his career, and he quickly responded, “Not much. He’s still extremely difficult to game plan for. Even at this stage of his career, he remains a dominant force. So limiting his production will be crucial for them in this matchup.” Guys, thank you for that. Ally, remember when people were questioning whether the Warriors were truly a dynasty, RJ? I do. And that was erased for good with that championship run in 2022. I still think that that is Steph’s most important championship. That title cemented them as one of the all-time great teams of the last 50 years. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. We might see him looking to make some tweaks to the strategy here. Heat. Heat. All right, a chance to check out stats for Austin Reeves. He’s been really dialed in from deep during these last five games, looking assertive and in control every time he rises up to shoot from beyond the three-point line. And it’s been fun to watch. Just over three and a half minutes gone here in the first. Donic against Curry. There’s a screen for three. Rebound by the Lakers coming into this having not to win against Boston in their last game. And you’d have to think that luck played a part in that one. I mean, the opponent had an off night at the defensive end for sure. It just seems like the defense wasn’t interested. They got away with one. Now here’s Curry, a guy this team turns to often, averaging almost 24 a game. Lets it go from deep. He buries it from three. Curry’s got his second basket on the night. This is Pete Curry shooting with real confidence off the catch. It’s what helps get him going. Aimura. The pass to Dantic. Tried to answer back, but that three is off the mark. The Warriors trailing. Now Pajimsky. He’s coming off a 13-point game against Chicago. And how about the vision he displayed? Great job getting others involved and piling up the assist. Now here is James outside. Curry takes the three. LeBron with the rebound. He’s been off. Still they’re up. So not all is lost. Pass to Reeves. And here’s Donic. He’s covered by Curry. Just five on the clock from deep. James can’t get it to go. And so it’s Grieve who brings up the ball for the Golden State Warriors. Lets the three fly and Jimmy Butler good for three. He has six. And what’s working here? Each guy is willing to make the next pass. Donic passes to Aimura. And here’s Donic. What a tremendous game he played against Boston. Can they get it? Brains the triple. Donic has got five. And look at Luca now getting aggressive at the arc. He was eager to answer that last three. Outside Green. Pass to Pajimsky. Now here’s Curry. Drops in the three. Man, this is just fun. These teams are trading threes back and forth. This is today’s NBA. Hey, we see this kind of exchange more often than not. And we’ve got a timeout called by JJ Reic. Coach wants to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. Heat. Heat. The Lakers making A switch here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. And a chance for us here to check out the top passing teams in the league this past month. The Lakers number one. And over this last stretch, this team has been incredible passing the rock, playing great team basketball. Donic outside the three. James gets the three ball to go. James has got five points. I like this wrinkle. Put LeBron off the ball and then make a play for him. Pass to post. And count that. two points and a chance for one more at the line. You know, that was an excellent play right there using his strength to power through contact. And a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. They’ve really been dialed in from De. This is a team that has a ton of confidence in their outside shooting ability. And and another thing, they found the open man. Really playing unselfish basketball, moving the ball around there on the perimeter. Here’s James. 14 points for him last game against Boston. And his free throw numbers tell you a lot about his performance. He was very aggressive. Oh, and the jam by Aton. He’s a nimble guy for someone with that size. Eighton can get off of his feet quick for a lob. The Warriors have got half their attempts to go. Six of 12. And dialing into our broadcast remotely, I’m told we have Shams Trannia here with a special report. Shs, take it away. Hey Brian, with the looming trade deadline coming up, it’s the Portland Trailblazers and transaction makers. They have long been looking into a guard who can create his own shots and I’m told they have landed on Jamal Murray as their guy, and his championship pedigree is an added bonus for them. A big move from a team who is clearly looking to take the next step and shake things up. Good stuff there, Sean. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Not that time, but that’s a shot that he’s going to make more often times than not. Well, Richard, with the relocations and the floor he covers, Curry is still an anomaly with his conditioning. Oh, he’s got an offse program that would make other NBA stars tap out, including myself. His conditioning is amongst the best of all time. It wears on you as a defender. Here’s Reeves over to the left wing. Out of bounds, it’ll go to the Warriors. A classic breakdown with the ball, sending it right out of bounds and giving the defense a freebie. Moody’s checked in for Stephen Curry and the Lakers also making a change. Smarts checked in for Reeves. Now here’s Pajki. Not a lot of room and he buries his first look. It’s fun for us to sit back and watch him go to work, but that’s our job, not the defenses. They left it too open on that play. Now here’s Smart. 14 points for him. Last game against Boston. Right side. Moody out of bounds. It’ll go to the Lakers. Lakers trail by four. And let’s swing it over to the sideline and hear from Ally Brian. The Warriors play a unique style predicated on passing and cutting off the ball. Stephen Curry said the main goal is to just force the defense to make as many decisions as you can. So with all that ball movement and body movement, they’re going to mess up at some point. Brian, well, it helps having a weapon like Stephen Curry. Thanks, Ally. Here’s Joseph to the right side and a foul called on the way up. And so he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s on LeBron James. And at this point of his career, Butler wants to win. And boy, does he ramp up his performance in the playoffs, especially in recent years. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw misses. He hits the second from the line and the Lakers have possession trailing by five. Then we’ve got a timeout called by JJ Reick. He wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. So, it’s Los Angeles now. It’s a five-point game. Vanderbilt. The pass to Aiden. Back to Vanderbilt. And here’s James. Shot clock at five. Smart outside. And once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. James with a steal to the middle. Oh, and the jam by Aton. Gliding the pass to where it needed to be. Wow. A strong finish to seal the deal. The Warriors lead by three. Heel passes to Buché. Back to Heel from behind the ark. Always a nice way to start. Makes his first one. Oh, he can shoot the lights out. He cashes in from long range. The Lakers shooting an impressive 47%. Smart outside. Now here’s Donic. He’s got five. What a terrific move that is. Donic has got seven. That’s a guy you want taking shots. A quality offensive player. Here’s Joseph. Four-point game. O’Shea a screen on James. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Playing with passion, Butler is never scared of a challenge. A wing who battles inside. He’s made one and missed one so far at the line. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First one falls for him. Curry, he’s checked in for the Warriors. hits both from the stripe. We’ve got a minute 48 left in the first. Vanderville against heel. Vanderville to screen on Curry. Smart for three. And it’s Bush with the rebound. A little too aggressive on that shot. He’s not the guy they want shooting those tough threes. The three from Curry and Reeves pulls it down. He’s giving his all but you can’t force yourself back on track. Vanderbilt the pass to Smart. Vanderbilt a screen on heel. Smart for three. Count it. And that shot gets him in the books. He’s one for three. And it’s big when Smart is hitting from deep. Really helps open up this offense. outside heel. 51 seconds left in the first quarter here. And yep, it’s good. He’s got 11. And his fantastic performance from the last game has carried over to tonight. He’s just riding the wave of momentum right now, getting to his spots and keeping things simple on the offensive side. Now, here’s Reeves, and he also played a big role in their last game with Boston. Five on the clock. That’s in. Coming off an assist from Smart. Reeves has got his second basket of the night. It’s the confidence of Austin Reeves. He just knows what his shot is. Pass to Moody. Healed against Vanderbilt. Three-pointer and Jimmy Butler with the three. Man, this is just fun. These teams are trading threes back and forth. This is today’s NBA. Hey, we see this kind of exchange more often than not from deep Reeves. Oh, he got it up in time, but it wouldn’t fall for him. Jimmy Butler getting it done for the Warriors. He dropped three threes in that quarter. They haven’t found an answer for him yet. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are. And what do you guys think about the Warriors here in this one? Well, it’s simple. I mean, they started off strong and they’ve been hot from beyond the arc since the get-go. And as long as the threes are dropping, you’ve got to keep launching them. Richard, if the three-point shot was never introduced, how different do you think the game would be? The offensive strategy would be very different. The game would be more physical, and it was more physical, and the main priority would be creating high percentage looks. So, on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter, we’ve got Austin Reeves, also Marcus Smart out there, Jared Vanderbilt out there with Hayes, and it’s Larabia in at the four. Now, here’s Smart. Pass to Reeves. Smart right side heel against Vanderbilt. Here’s the Arabia. Smart looking around. The three is up. Warriors with the rebound. They’ll face the Jazz after this game. That’ll be at home. Pass to Jackson Davis. The kick out. Curry. There’s the triple and Reeves pulls it down. Lakers trail by five. Here’s Larabia. Covered by Buché. Larabia passes to Smart and he dunks it down. And their offensive rebounding is such a strength for them when he’s on the floor. Yeah, he really helps them extend possessions, doesn’t he? Yeah, you can feel coach smiling on the sidelines with every offensive board. Moses Moody up strong for the jam. Woo! Defensively, you can’t afford to let him get to the rim that easily. Well, that might be why their deficit is what it is right now. Yeah, it’s going to take better rim protection than that if they’re going to climb out of this hole. Second quarter of action. About a minute and a half played. Pass to Larabia. Outside Reeves. Here’s the three. Nails it from beyond the arc. Reeves has got eight. This defense just can’t stay connected to shooters. Curry finds Buché. They set a pick. Now healed over Vanderbilt and it’s healed missing. outside. Reeves free throw line jumper hits the rim on the way in and the bucket is good. Reeves has got five points in the quarter. Some guys don’t like that shot, but Reeves has a lot of confidence in his midi. Here’s Curry. Sinks the 15-footer. Found some space to get off the mid-range and he’ll do damage from there if you let him. Smart with the ball, giving this team some energy, averaging a little over 10 points a game and a chance now to look at the schedule for the Golden State Warriors. On Tuesday, they’ll defend home court against the Utah Jazz. Then on Wednesday, they’ll host the Oklahoma City Thunder. And for their matchup with Orlando, it’s going to be a very tough one for them. They’ll need to be playing at their peak if they’re going to steal the win. and he makes a first. Aimura’s checked in for Larabia. Both shots good from the strike here in quarter two. We’ve played a little over two and a half minutes now. Smart against Curry inside and it’s Heel that time on the assist from Curry. He’s got five points and a little contact never stopped Heield a committed scorer who knows how to keep his balance on his shot. Heield has bounced around for a while now, but he’s still a deadly shooter. Richard Heield is the definition of a shooter for hire. He’s a mercenary. When he’s on the floor, he’s looking to pull up from deep. That’s what he’s paid to do. He’s been an elite shooter his whole career. And here are the Warriors now following the score by the Lakers. Buché is screen on Smart. Curry with it now. Vanderbilt defending outside for Buché. Just five to shoot. Jackson Davis with screen. Moody from outside. Rebounded by the Lakers. This has been a close game in a lot of ways, but they do have an edge on the boards. Smart passes to Hayes. Aimura against Heel. Pass to Smart. And he gets it to go off the front iron. Smart’s gotten his second bucket. Look, and if you’re the defense, you have to honor Marcus Smart’s mid-range, Jay, or else that’s exactly what’s going to happen. To the inside and finished off by Buché. And once he gets to the rim, it’s fairly automatic. Nothing fancy right there. just takes his two points, moves on. And here’s Smart. They’ll bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers on the wing. Aimura. Here’s Reeves. He’s got 10 down low and Bush with the block. They recover it and stolen by Buché. Curry with it. Guarded now by Smart. Here’s Hee. Aimura with a rebound. And the defense was right on him there. Nice contest. Get stolen by Heel. Moody on the wing. He’s covered by Reeves. Fades. Moody misses. Probably not the shot they had in mind, but you can’t fault him. He had a clean look. Here’s Hayes. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It goes on Chris Buché. I don’t mind that. I mean, they met him at the rim and temporarily prevented the points. Los Angeles shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. And he can’t get the first one. James has checked in for Los Angeles. Good on the second one. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. He wants a few moments to regroup with his players. Golden State. And Los Angeles making a change here. Larabi has checked in. A look at how All-Star voting is going thus far. And so much fun to see the tally start to come in. See how things start to look. He’s absolutely in the conversation to be a starter in the All-Star game for the West. And that West starting five is so hard to crack. He’s having a fantastic season and is still on the outside looking in. It’s shaping up to be a terrific All-Star weekend. More news to come as we receive it. And from the sideline, let’s catch up with Allie. Well, LeBron James last season set the record for most All-Star nods in NBA history. He said, quote, “I’m blessed to do what I love and just to try to give back to the game that’s given to me over two decades. Long ago, I exceeded anything I ever dreamed of being in the NBA. Everything else is just extra credit. Brian, thanks Ally. James and it’s James with the jam. Oh man, LeBron just big boy basketball on full display. And how about LeBron? Even if he’s no longer the clear-cut best player in the league, he can still take over a game, RJ. Oh, make no mistake. He is still the best when he needs to be. Absolutely has a switch that gets flipped when he needs it. He’s not on for 48 minutes, but he can definitely turn it on for a few. Some things changed, but LeBron stays the same. Still the same leader on the floor, the same player. It is truly impressive. Now here’s Curry. He’s got 11. Curry takes it in. And a moment now to quickly take a look at the offensive approach for the Lakers. They’ve made a point to take what’s given to them in the mid-range. The jumpers are falling for them so far. And not only that, they’re off to a pretty hot start shooting from outside. They seem locked in tonight. and he drops a first. Think about the impact that Steph has had on this game. Him and his team have changed the way the game is played. They have ushered in the three-point error. And so Curry nails both of them. No surprise there. He’s about as automatic as it gets from the stripe. I hope I didn’t jinx him. Aimura outside and there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. And now it’s time to look at the teams that have really impressed shooting from the field during the last 10 games. In the third spot, the Lakers. It’s been a great run for them kind of shooting the basketball. You love when multiple guys get into a groove at the same time. The Warriors leading. And there’s the screen. And here’s Curry for three. Oh, Curry. Just nasty from downtown. Another triple for him. His fourth of the night after that monster first quarter where he hit three of them. Sees the lob. James can’t get it to go. Looking for the spectacular and coming up empty. just go to show how tight your timing needs to be on this kind of play. A big night for Butler. We’ve seen him as the guy on a finals team and Jimmy can definitely carry your offense. Lakers trail by six. Now Aimura, he picked up 10 in his last game. Here’s Reeves. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. And his defenses have adjusted to Austin Reeves scoring. Richard, he’s countered with the pass. Austin Reeves doesn’t get enough credit for how good his handle is, how much it’s improved. It’s allowed for him to score, get into different places, and make these passes. He misses the free throw. I don’t think there’s a team out there that doesn’t want a player like Austin Reeves. This is a guy who is willing to sacrifice on both ends of the floor. And the second free throw is good. And give them credit for making a more concerted effort to get to the line this quarter. Outside Curry. Green with a screen on Donic. And here’s Curry for three. And Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got four rebounds in the game. Donic left side. Donic throwing his weight around. Oh, Luca is so skilled at using his body to create good looks inside. Outside Green. Fires from deep and Jimmy Butler good for three. He’s got 19. All game long he’s been getting to his spots and the defense has yet to adjust. And Reeves has got the ball here for the Lakers. They trail by six. Pass to Larabia. Now here’s Donic. He’s covered by Curry. And it’s Donic missing. He came out today planning to do as much damage from three-point range as possible. Well, it looks like it’s time to change up the plan, guys. Rejected by James. A versatile, talented defender. LeBron excels at using his athleticism and length to block so many shots. Here’s the Rabia. James left side. And so it looks like the Lakers will retain possession here. And the Warriors making a switch here. Moody’s checked in. Vincent’s checked in for the Lakers. Marcus Smart comes in for Larabia. Pass to Donic. Tries it from 16. That’s good. And it’s Smart with the assist. Smart has got three assists tonight. And there’s Luca, one of the most entertaining players in the league. And Steve Kerr calls time out here. He wants to review the game plan. And we got a chance to check out multiple seasons of assist numbers and what has been the trend for Draymond Green. And his assist numbers have been dropping over the past few years. Not a good trend. Perhaps he’s become a little too concerned about finding his own shot and not seeing the rest of the court. The Warriors lead by four outside. Moody to the left side wing. Butler goes for it inside. That guy is perfect from the field. Making major contributions to this lead. The Lakers have gotten eight of 14 shots to drop so far in the second. Smart outside. From deep. Here’s Donic. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Outside. Pajki. Jimmy Buckets locked in. He’s just got it on automatic right now. Shooting 100%. And that’ll keep your confidence up. Lakers trail by eight. And here’s James. Give him eight. And the three-pointer goes. James has got 11 points. When you’re guarding LeBron, you have to give him something. So the King, well, he’ll take a three-point basket. Aimura against Green from outside. Off the mark. Los Angeles has gone two of five from distance here in the second quarter. Guarding James has always been a challenge. So good at getting the better of the defense. And this is his second and third free throws tonight. That free throw good from James. And when you think of LeBron, his competitive spirit is to me the first thing that comes to mind. All this guy wants to do is win all the time. Aiden, he’s checked in for the Lakers. Reeves comes in for Vincent. Both free throws good from James. And here in the second quarter, he’s starting to work himself to the free throw line. That’s a good move. To the paint. Here’s Post. Oo, excellent D there from Aiden. Well, he better buy his teammates dinner tonight cuz they’ve covered him for what has been a terrible, absolute terrible shooting display. Oh, James knocks down the triple. I like this trend. He’s hit two triples this period. Has three for the game. Outside Pajki. Green a screen. Plenty of space. Pajimski. Shot is good. He has seven. There’s a minute 54 left in the first half. Pass to Reeves. Donuch deciding where to go with it. Now Aiden, there’s the steal. Now here’s Moody. An 11-point game for him in the win against Chicago. We’ve got 128 left in the half. Clock at six. Donic pulls down the board. The Lakers trail. Luca on the attack. Yeah, this period they’re letting him go to work and it’s paying off. And it’s Green with the ball for the Golden State Warriors. 58 seconds left in the second period. has to post, misses the three. Oh man, he can’t get anything to fall. You can feel his frustration. Yeah, that’s it. Right now, he’s just in his own head. Not much you can do to try and push through it. Look at the power on that. He has to be one of the top dunkers in the game today. And for the Warriors, they’re shooting efficiently, 50% so far. Outside Green. 34 seconds left in the second. Launches it. Green able to hit from three. Yeah, Green knows he has to act fast, so he wastes no time finding the shot. Los Angeles has gone seven for 17 from three-point range so far in this matchup. Here’s Aimura and rejected. the three and the first half comes to an end. We’ve got a close game going here. Warriors ahead, leading by one. And we’ll be right back after halftime to get the third quarter underway. lock. in offensively, getting to his spots, picking apart the D, scoring in bunches. Jets, uh, great points. Get it? See what I see what I did there? We saw, Ernie, it just wasn’t funny. And now to some other news. We’ve got some trades to talk about. If you’re looking to add explosive scoring, Murray is your man. Great range, believes in himself, and his teammates believe in him. Just the guy you need. That does it for halftime. Let’s get back to game action. Here’s Brian Anderson with the start of the third quarter. And as we get into this third quarter, as we’ve seen so far, neither team able to create much separation on the scoreboard. It has been one outstanding game from Jimmy Butler. Yeah, tonight he’s done a great job of slashing through the lane and finishing. And you love that mindset he has going at the rim. He hasn’t settled for anything and he’s been the aggressor all game long. And the Warriors with possession here. They lead by one. Curry and Pods make up the back court. Green out there with Jimmy Butler. And it’s Post in at the center position. And that’s the group for Steve Cerr as we begin the second half. You wonder what the score would be if they weren’t controlling the glass. Richard, it’s nice to have the versatility of a guy like Hachimura. equally comfortable at either forward position. Well, he’s got the size and strength of a modernday NBA power four, but he also has the ability to stretch the floor and knock down a three. That’s a nice combo. Just four to shoot. Here’s Aiden. And they forced the shot clock violation. Great. And over the last 10 games, here’s a look at the teams that have been putting up the most points in the third spot. Los Angeles. This team has been on an absolute tear offensively. It seems like they’re able to find a shot every trip down. And the Warriors shooting at a respectable 49%. It’s Pajki on the wing. He’s covered by Reeves. Out to the wing. Fires the three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Donic has got five rebounds in the game. Here’s Aimura and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It goes on Brandon Pajimki. Well, Hachimura is always ready to go into that overdrive inside and fight you for it. Free throw good. Aimura. Oh, the mid-range shot has always been Hachim Moore’s best weapon, but he’s adapted and has become more consistent beyond the arc. And both free throws good for Aimura. A little over a minute gone here in the second half. It’s tipped. Curry with it. He’s got 16. Pass to Green and there’s the lob. Five to shoot. Up high and down it goes on the lob. Well, Draymond has a special talent for setting guys up, especially for his position. Los Angeles has gone seven for 17 from three-point range so far in this matchup. Aiden passes to Aimura. Now Donic. He’s covered by Curry. Donic against Curry. Misses in close. The Warriors have gone just one of three in the second half. And that one drops. And it’s a three-point Warrior lead. Nice ball movement there. Delivered the pass right on time. Two minutes into the second half of play now. Go close. James outside. Back to Donic over Curry. Donic with the bucket. Donic has got 15. And I love Donic’s shot selection. So smart at knowing when to shoot it. Outside PMski. Second half of play here. We’re just under two and a half minutes past. Green with a screen on Reeves. It’s Kachki. Donic grabs the miss. Donic has got six rebounds in the game. A shot from the mid-range. A shot by James. No good. And they have been cold coming out of the break. Only getting one of their first four shots to drop this half. Got to pick it up. Now here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Reeves. James outside and he loves it up top. Pass to Pajimsky. Curry with it. Now Green. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Here’s Post. Rebound by the Lakers. Aiden’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Shoots. A nice shot by Donic. He’s got 17. And their offense tonight is Luca. Luca and more Luca. When he’s on, it’s an opponent’s worst nightmare. Now here’s Pajki. He’s got nine. Here’s Post and the Warriors miss again. Got to find easier shots when you’re already struggling. That’s not going to get it. Tips it. Controls the rebound and the put back and the Lakers lead by three. Just a strong sequence there from DeAndre Aiden. Pass to post. Now here’s Pachki. Curry with it. Up and over and off the front iron and in it goes. Curry’s got 18. They’ve now had assist on each of their last three buckets. James finds Donic. Elbow shot and there’s another one for the Lakers. Warriors trail by three. Outside Curry pass to Green. The kick out. Curry. Green against Aiden. And there’s Green on the assist by Curry. Curry’s got his sixth assist of the night. Over the years, we’ve seen that Draymond can shoot, but for him, it’s just about finding consistency and confidence in his jumper. Outside, Reeves. Pass to Aimura. Donic right side. Oh, Donic. Play it above the rim. Going on the attack. Luca doesn’t give them a chance to get between him and the rim. And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for the Warriors. Now Green and he’s going for the oop here. Stolen by Aton. It’s picked off inside. Here’s Post. Ooh, the lead pass was in the perfect spot to set up the layup. Post has gotten his second bucket on the night. The Lakers in the lead. Here’s Donic. 21 points in the game. Pajimsky grabs the board. The Warriors have gotten five of 10 shots to go. And how about Brandon Pajimsky, Richard? When he’s given the minutes, he can stuff the stat sheet. Yeah. Even when it comes to his rebounding, VA, that’s the result of great heart, great hustle, and great timing. His teammates feed off his energy. ties it up and his next one could give him the lead. Heels checked in for Green. Vanderbilts checked in for the Lakers. And that one drops. So now they lead by one. Los Angeles has gone seven for 17 from three-point range so far in this matchup. And here’s Donic outside. Warriors with the rebound. But he’s got four rebounds now. Yeah, no triples for him here in the second half. One fell in the first though. Can he turn it up? Back to Curry. Three-pointer. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Pass to Donic. Shoots over Curry and good as it takes a nice bounce off the right iron and down. Donic has got 23 points and Steve Cerr calls timeout here. He’s going to gather the troops and talk it over. You know, one guy who’s been getting it done is Luca Donuch. Okay, I’m going to take you guys inside the huddle. All right, the message from coach is simple. Stop him. Heat. Heat. All right, let’s look back over the last 10 games now and see which teams were topping the charts in three-point shooting. Fifth, the Lakers. Number one, you have to have good shooters. Number two, you have to take good shots. This team is both talented and disciplined. Now Pajimski, he’s got 11. Pass to Heel. Curry against Donic. Down to five on the shot clock and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. And Grant once again, Stephen Curry hit 300 threes last season. Man, he’s in a class of his own. Well, there have been seven 300 plus three-point seasons ever. Stephen has five of them. He has the only 400 three-point year ever. So yeah, BA Stefen has created his own class and that one falls for Curry. No good on the second free throw. I know he’s kicking himself for not snatching the lead, but look, he tied things up. And it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Curry. He clipped the ball there, but not enough to nab the steal. That’s fine. You love the effort. Not making things easy for the opposition on offense. And how about that replay, man? You got to appreciate the hustle on defense. Yeah, just some terrific effort there. And you know, the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. Now, here is James. He’s got 16. Here’s Donic again. Donic missing. Surprising he didn’t bury that, but hey, it happens sometimes. Pass to heel. wide open. That one is off. You got to move past that one. I mean, they’d want him to take that again. Yeah, it’s a great look for him. One they’ll try and manufacture again. Those are the shots you want him to take to the inside. Out to James. Offensive rebound. Here’s Reeves and his fifth basket. Now five for eight. Looking comfortable out there. You can’t measure the heart of Reeves. This guy gives his all. And here’s Pajki. 11 points in the game outside Curry from downtown. Fires in the triple. Curry’s got six in the quarter here in the second half. This game still nip and tuck. Just an insane amount of lead changes. The fans are getting their money’s worth. Outside Vanderbilt and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. There’s no debate there. He he got hammered. And a look now at how the offensive approach has been going here so far for the Warriors. A they’re moving the ball around so well, guys. Quick passes, letting the next guy do the work if you don’t have a look. Another thing they’re doing well tonight is shooting from long distance all game long. They’ve been finding openings at the perimeter. First free throw is good. Bush’s checked in for the Warriors. Moody comes in for Stephen Curry. off on that one. So, he goes one out of two at the line. I know he’s kicking himself for not snatching the lead, but look, he tied things up. Oh, good work on the interior from Butler. How talented is Butler? I mean, just so adept at carving out some space inside and converting from deep. Here’s Donic. That shot missing. Golden State has gone one of four here in the third from range. Here’s Pajki. Pass to Moody. Moody gets one inside. Good passing to set that up. Teamwork on display. Lakers trail by four. Donic outside. Now James from the ark. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Donic has got four assists in the game. And that’s the improvement of his game. You got to guard Braun close at the perimeter. He can be so efficient from out there. The Warriors have gone eight of 15 in the third quarter. Now here’s Pajki. 11 points in the game. Pass to Moody. And here’s healed to the middle. Here’s Buché. Vanderville pulls it in. And the shooter had very little space on that attempt. I’m sure they’ll think twice about shooting against him next time. And foul called on Brandon Pajimki. That’s his third foul so far. Remember, they had zero turnovers at the half. It’s been a very different story so far since the break. Joseph has checked in for the Warriors. The Lakers trail. We’ve got 155 left in the third quarter. Outside Reeves pass to Larabia. Hayes with it. Six on the shot clock. Down low. Shot is good by Reeves. Reeves has got 15. I love how assertive Reeves is. He is not bashful about trying his luck inside. 133 left in the third quarter. To the paint. Here’s Buché. And finished off by Buché. I just love the aggressive finish. Now, I’m thinking he’s sending a strong message with that jam. Here’s Reeves. He’s got 15. Pass to Hayes. Here’s Vanderbilt. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. That one on healed. This will be his third trip to the free throw line. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. He’s off on the first. And no good on the second free throw. So 0 for two there. The Warriors leading and stolen by Reeds. Pass to Vanderbilt. deflected. An outstanding defender. Butler uses his size and length well to swat shots. Here’s Joseph. He’s covered by Reeves. 40 seconds left to play in the third quarter here. To the wing, right side. Just five to shoot. 17 ft shot on the way and the sweet roll that time on the rim. That one falls. He’s got 27. And when there’s a difficult task, Jimmy Butler is the answer for his team. Smart outside. Good whistle there. He’s got his first free throws of the night right here. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one falls for Smart. That one falls. So, he hits both of them. We’re at the end of the third quarter and we’ve still got a close one. The Warriors on top. They’re up by one. And don’t go away. We’ll be back in a few moments. It’ll be the fourth quarter of basketball coming up next. And now we have a moment to reveal our State Farm assist of the game. And he definitely deserves the award. Reading the defense like a point guard. He’ll be proud of that one. Bigs love when their passing skills are noticed. And it’s been a very competitive game so far as we get rolling here in quarter number four. And so in the game for Los Angeles, they’ve got Jackson Hayes, Gabe Vincent out there with Marcus Smart, then it’s Rui Aimura, and it’s James in at the fourman position. Kicks it out to Smart. Six to shoot. Hayes with a screen on Curry. Smart for three. Curry with some nice D. And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. It’s a one-point game. Outside heel. Doesn’t go for him. Smart with the defensive effort. Every player goes through this. When your shots aren’t going down, it can ding your confidence. And for the Warriors, they’re shooting a nice 50% for the game. Throw it down on the lob. The great read between those two guys. The defense didn’t stand a chance. Ba. These two teammates right here, Grant, they are connected. Hand stolen by Buché. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. And the powerful one-handed slam. That’s a fantastic decision by Curry. Defense too focused in on Steph. The Lakers with the ball. And following this game, they hit the road to challenge the Hornets at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. And their road tour has only begun. That’ll be game two of six. LeBron gets the bucket inside. And this is just typical of him. Always making an impact at crucial moments in the game. and his team needs every bit of his production if they want to pull this one out. It is neck and neck here in the final period. Curry gets the bucket putting on a shooting clinic from deep. He had that huge first half and he’s still rolling. Smart passes to Aimura. Hayes with it covered by Jackson Davis. The officials were right on top of that one. Shooting two. That one misses. And the Warriors making a change here. The Jimsky’s checked in. Second free throw. No good. The Warriors lead by six. Pass to Curry. This just demonstrates how fearless Curry is. Look, he knows how to get inside and draw plenty of fouls. And that one falls for Curry. Vanderbilt’s checked in for Hayes. And so he hits both. Lakers trail by eight. Here’s Aimura. And it’s slammed in by Aimura. Oh, what a finish. Ruri showing off that athletic ability. We’re in the fourth quarter here. Just under two and a half minutes gone by. Right side. Pajki. Curry passes to Buché. Off target with the three for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten half of their attempts to fall in the fourth. Two for four now. It’s stolen by Curry. Low block shot. Pajimsky. Shot is good. And the Warriors lead by eight. These are the shots coach wants them hunting down. Just the easy makes. Aimura outside. Lets it go from 11. Rebounded by Heield. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in this quarter. Outside Curry. Pass to Jackson Davis. Back to Curry. Five to shoot. Jackson Davis. A screen. from deep three-point range. Curry’s shot is off. One thing they’ve done well tonight and that’s rebounding. Aimura outside Vanderbilt. Blocked out of bounds as Los Angeles keeps possession. And we have to take another look at that block. Yeah, good offense comes from great defense. This lead is only getting stronger with plays like that. Aiden, he’s checked in for the Lakers. So, it’s the Lakers now trailing by eight. Over the last few years, Hachimore has gotten more comfortable in these catch and shoot situations. The Warriors have gone four of seven from the field in the fourth quarter. Outside Pajki, Bush on the screen to the inside. Jackson Davis uses the glass on the layup. Jackson Davis has gotten four this quarter. This has been the story of the game. A battle fought on offense. Yeah, but I think it’s going to come down to who can get the stops down the stretch because that’s who’s going to come away with this one. Offensive rebound. Smart for three and Smart nails the triple. Look, and when Marcus Smart is hitting from deep, it really makes a difference in this offense. It becomes so much more dynamic. Curry with it now guarded by Aiden. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. They’ll pin that one on Marcus Smart. First free throw is good. Some changes now for the Lakers. Vanderbilts checked in for James. Reeves comes in for Vincent. And Luca Donuch subbed in for Smart. And so Curry nails both of them. He’s dialed up his aggression here in the second half. Consistent in working himself to the line. Outside Reeves Curry against Donic. Shot clock at six. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. And this team’s offensive catalyst. Donic puts pressure on the defense every possession. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. And Donas is a walking triple double threat. His versatility and confidence is really special. The Lakers making a switch here. Larabia has checked in. So he gets them both. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. Now here’s Curry driving to the basket over Donic. And that one comes up a bit short. Lakers trail by five. Takes a three. The Luca three. Money. Along with everything else, Donic is a knockdown three-point shooter. Curry passes to heel. Back to Curry. Launches it from deep from beyond the arc and then some. Curry’s got 10 points now just in this quarter. Keep riding that hot hand. He’s been pretty much unstoppable. Pass to Larabia. Here’s Donic to the middle. It’s stolen by Curry. It’s a one-on-one situation. Oh, Butler getting aggressive. When Butler is cleared for takeoff, just get off the runway. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Reeves pass to Vanderbilt. inside. Here’s Aiden and it’s blocked down low. Lays it up and in off the pretty assist. He’s got 31. The assist numbers certainly stand out. They’ve really emphasized ball movement here today. Lakers trail by nine. Now Aiden and here’s Reeves. Kicks it to Donic. Sinks the tray. Donic has got 31 points. Backing up that last three with another three. The defense has to stop giving them so many clean looks. The Warriors have gone eight of 12 so far here in the fourth. Here’s Curry and Aiden pulls it down. Hayden’s got nine rebounds in the game. Boy, he’s getting it done. Reeves with the ball to the left wing. Shot clock at five. Larabia passes to Aton and give him another one. He’s six of eight and looking solid. That is a strong move by Aiden. He is merciless in there. The Warriors lead by four. To the paint. Here’s Heel and it’s good. Fought through contact. Hit the shot and will go to the line. Green’s checked in for Pajimki. LeBron, he’s checked in for Los Angeles. Aimura comes in for Vanderbilt. That’s good from Heel. Guys like Buddy Hill, knock down shooters. They are in high demand around the league. Pass to James offline with a three. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one. And here’s Curry for three outside for Green and he’s going for the line. Just a ferocious finish. Butler is a force out there. I mean, he really plays with a big chip on his shoulder. Lakers trail by nine. Here’s Dantic outside. Reeves. James against Green. James passes to Donic. Pulls up on the wing and that one is right through the heart. Donic has got 10 points in the quarter. It’s obvious he’s taken it upon himself to try and keep them alive. Curry, a screen on Aimura. Here’s Butler on the tape. At any point in the game, buckets will push the action and make something happen. And the first one at the line is good. Pajimky’s checked in for the Warriors. both good from the line that time. Now, we don’t pick favorites, Richard. But did you have a favorite road city? Well, it depends on when you ask me, BA. I love New York. That’s my favorite city. I was born in LA, but there’s nothing like going home to Phoenix, Arizona, where I grew up. Offensive board. Here’s Aidton now seven for nine after that make. Oh, I’ll tell you what, in this fourth quarter, he’s been locked in and has made some big shots for his team. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. No doubt he’s going to utilize the opportunity to make sure they’re all on the same page here. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Ally Leforce. During that break, coach Steve Kerr had some advice for the team. He told them, “No time to celebrate. The work is not finished. We got to stick with it and keep growing what we’ve got here.” Words of wisdom for his squad. Back to you. Thanks for that, Ally. Now Curry. pass to post. Curry surveys. Five on the clock. Up and over Donic. Shot is good by Curry. Curry’s got 34. And this has become expected from Curry. Everyone knows how dangerous he is at getting to his spots and capitalizing. And there’s James from the ark. And it’s cleared by Stephen Curry. That is not the shot they needed there. Got to work it around and get a better look. Fires the three and that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Green’s got assist number five here tonight. 157 left in the fourth quarter here. And Aiden with the stuff. We’re seeing the full range of Aiden’s offensive skills tonight. The big man’s putting on a show. We’ve got 155 left in the fourth quarter. And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for the Warriors and Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got his sixth rebound on the night. Pass to Donic. Shoots over Curry and the shot is good. Dropping in off the front of the rim. Donic has got 35 in the game. And there’s 138 left to play in the fourth quarter. Here’s Post to the inside. Kic against Curry. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Aton’s got 11 rebounds in the game. Pass to Donic on the wing. Reeves. Back to James. And here’s Donic. He’s covered by Curry. Just five on the clock. They grab their own miss. And he can’t get that one. I think a bucket here Grant would end this game. Absolutely. That would put a bow on this one. Back to Pajimsky outside. Green tries a nine-footer and he makes it and the Warriors lead by 10. They got a big lift from their crowd tonight giving them the energy they needed. You have to love their effort. This game wasn’t handed to them. They took it. And here’s Donic outside. Leaps for it. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will have it. Ah, yet another miscalculation. They are really their own worst enemy right now. It’s why they find themselves way behind. Here’s Joseph. They can simply hold on to the ball here. No question, BA. They deserve the win. And so it’s the Warriors taking care of business in this one. This one was a fun one to watch. They were clearly in the driver’s seat down the stretch. They really were, BA. They played with great intensity on both ends of the floor and they didn’t allow their mistakes to get the better of them. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey Ally, thanks so much Stephan. a big time victory tonight. What aspect of this win pleases you the most? Uh it was a full team effort. Obviously, you look at Sashy, but the little things I’m talking about that we did to win the game tonight are huge. And that’s when it’s winning time, we showed up and that uh that means a lot. It’s got to feel good to see it come together. Thanks so much. All right, Ally. Good stuff there. Thanks for that. Well, folks, that’s going to do it for now for Richard Jefferson, Grant Hill, and Ally Leforce. This is Brian Anderson saying thanks for watching and let’s leave you with our player of the game, Jimmy Butler.
