The greatest shooter in NBA history, was actually blind until he was 30. You all know Stephen Curry, a four-time champion, a back-to-back MVP, and the undisputed greatest shooter to ever touch the basketball court. But what most fans don’t know is for the first 10 years of his career, he was seeing multiple rims. You see, he was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called keraticonus. It’s a disease that warps your cornea and blurs your vision. And for most of his career, he just dealt with it. Steph said that he got so used to squinting that it became normal. But in 2019, everything changed. To put it simply, he was not Stephen Curry that year. His shooting dipped to 37% from three, his lowest in seven seasons. And that’s when he realized something was wrong. Lasic surgery wasn’t an option. So instead, he got fitted for custom contact lenses. And it was like unlocking a cheat code. He could finally see the hoop clearly for the first time in his entire NBA career, and the results were terrifying. He shot 49% from three for the rest of the season, led the Warriors to the best record in the West, and made another run at the NBA Finals.

    If this is true, why didn’t he get contacts 30 years ago? My kid is 10 and he has contacts. Was tired of watching glasses getting knocked of him while driving.

    I have this disease 😂 with his money I’m shocked he didn’t get it taken care of sooner, but I will say in his defense regular contacts and glasses don’t work, you need special hard lenses and they have to be fitted. I didn’t realize how bad my eyes were until I got the lenses as well.
