So, could the Golden State Warriors be trading away Jonathan Kaminga to the Sacramento Kings this 2025 NBA off seasonason? Well, here on the screen is a sn or sorry, is a tweet on X from Legion Hoops which says, uh, Jonathan Kaminga wants to go to Sacramento per ESPN. So, there’s been a ton of reporting and a ton of speculation regarding Jonathan Kaminga and his future in Golden State. All signs point towards him wanting out of Golden State. He’s reportedly felt disrespected. Uh they felt that he, you know, that that they stunted his growth. He doesn’t want to sign their contract extension, which is reportedly uh 2 years 45 mil, which is about 22 and a half per season. And he wants to play elsewhere, have a change of scenery. So this is an interesting situation because he is a restricted free agent. So this would have to of course be a signing trade most likely. Him being him wanting to go to the Kings is interesting as well because they sort of have a bit of an intriguing situation in Sacramento. They have three pretty good players. Demar D Rozan, Zack Lavine, De Manusa Sabonis under contract. They could definitely find a trade partner with one of those players. Like I would imagine that in the Kings mind, Demar Rozan would be their first choice to send back uh Golden State’s way. Golden State may not want that because then that makes them a pretty old team. And the Kings would be getting significantly younger. So I think Kaminga just wants a change of scenery. If he wants to stay in the state of California, uh just going, you know, not not too far away to Sacramento might not be a terrible idea. A bit of a younger roster there as well. So perhaps he could have more of an increased role in this offense in Sacramento. And the Phoenix Suns have sort of emerged as a team that want to go go after Kaminga as well. So it seems like Kaminga going to Phoenix or Sacramento is going to happen this off season most likely. But at the end of the day, money talks and if Golden State offers a similar contract to what Phoenix did, for example, at four years $90 million, he could probably still stay in Golden State and the rest will be history.
