Welcome to another episode of Trending Sports Podcast. On this episode, we’re going to be discussing Mau Bridges, who just signed a 4-year contract with the New York Knicks for 150 million. Let’s get into the segment. Okay, so the Knicks just resigned Muel Bridges. What do you think about the move? Is it a good move? Bad move? I think it’s a great move, honestly, because Muel Bridges is the iron man of the NBA. He’s played four straight seasons. Hasn’t missed a game. Reliable. He’s very reliable. Yes. He doesn’t miss too many games. Doesn’t miss too many games. He’s the iron man. And in the NBA, you actually see players miss a lot of games. That’s true. With load management, injury. So, Mikuel Bridges, it’s it’s it’s rare to have a player like Mel Bridges on your team. It’s probably the sport where players like stars in general decide to miss the most games in the NBA. Obviously, stars always take load management. It’s the only sport we really see that in cuz in hockey they play all their games. In football, they play their games. In the NBA, so we got a rare player like Muel Brides. So, you think it’s a good signing? I think it’s a great signing. I think the Knicks can go far next season again. If they catch Heat, I think they can go to the NBA finals, honestly. You think the Knicks can make the finals? I honestly believe the Knicks can make the finals. Yes. Well, the East is kind of open, honestly. Like, the Celtics are missing Tatum. Tatum. Pacers are missing Hallebertton. So, so the East is open cuz Dame Lillard’s out, right? He’s not in Milwaukee. So, that’s just Giannis there. And Janice, it’s it’s up in the air. Janice could leave Milwaukee. So, the Knicks are a powerhouse next season. they could make a run to make the NBA finals. And do you think that they should keep this roster intact of Cat, Jaylen Brunson, that that core? I I do believe that core is the core to get there. I believe they have all the pieces. They have that their spacing on the floor. You know, they have a big man that can shoot. Both their forwards can shoot the three ball. Jaylen Brunson’s great. Josh Hart off the bench is amazing. So, and Carl Anthony Towns went skits. He was going bananas in the playoffs. Carl Anthony Towns was a dog. So, I haven’t seen a season like that from like a [ __ ] long time. like prior to his his season this season he was always called soft in Minnesota and I feel like he kind of broke that narrative playing for New York. I feel like he was a [ __ ] dog for that team. So I believe Carl Anthony Towns and that core and actually make it to the NBA finals bro he actually showed that the most when he played Draymond this year bro I don’t know if you remember that game. I do. I do. He was they were going back and forth and bro cat stood his ground bro. Yeah, he did honestly. And Carl Anthony Towns is he I think he’s a top five center in the game. And I believe like like I said, I believe the New York Knicks will make it to the NBA finals. And now, bro, if we even talk about Jaylen Brunson, bro, that’s another dog. That’s a dog. That right there. I I’d say Wes, I have him I have Jaylen Brunson as a top five point guard in the NBA. Clutch player of the year, bro. Clutch player of the year. He was averaging what 28 points per game in the playoffs. I think he elev I think he had above 30. So we Jaylen Brun is a dog. Uh what do you think about OG? OG’s good too. He’s a good role player, bro. He serves as well, but bro, he’s better when uh Sunni Lee’s in attendance. Yeah, when Sony le there he loves it. Yeah. So that’s But these guys, they all play in New York, so they they love the big picture. They love the big it’s mainstream, right? New York’s mainstream. You’re playing at MSG. You play at MSG. You have you have all the stars out, stars watching Stars. So So yeah, I think I think Macau Bridges was crucial to resigning. I I do agree with that. He’s after Brunson and Kat, he’s the next one. He him or OG. So like you can say OG’s the third, he’s the third. I feel like they have their knives, but he’s the third, fourth option, New York. Yeah. And the minutes per game, boy, you need a guy like that. Do he he always guards the the opposing team’s number one ball handler, so he’ll always guard their primary bucket getter. He usually does a good job. Like he won’t lock down like the players are unguardable. But yeah, he does a great job. I thought he was a perfect fit for Tom Tibido’s system, bro. Cuz Tom Tibs loves to roll his guys. That’s it. He plays his guys and Muel Bridges is a dog. Like we said, Iron Man, but Tibs is out now. So, Tibs is out. So, that’s up in the air, but like we said, the East, West, the East is up in the air. Like we Anyways, I I truly believe the Knicks can make a run cuz at the end of the day, who who do you think would knock off the Knicks fully healthy next season? We’re not talking Tatum playing. We’re not talking Well, Dame’s obviously out of Milwauke. But the thing is, let’s say you’re in a in a series and you see the opposing player, the opposing best player on the opposing team is Donovan Mitchell. Are you scared? Bro, a bit. You are not not as much as if it was like LeBron in his prime obviously. That’s a different story. But let’s say you’re you’re you’re playing Donovan Mitchell. So like I think Cat I I I think Cat is better than Donovan Mitchell, honestly. I Yeah, I would I would agree with you there. So So when you look at the starting fives, I say I think the Cavs have a more complete starting five. They do have a more complete starting five, but I feel like the Knicks, they all gel together. You you got your three and D guys and OG and Muel. You got Jaylen Brunson, a [ __ ] dog, averaging 30. Cat coming out averaging 25. Like we said, he became a dog. So, it’s a great signing. It It’s It’s a great signing. Uh we’ll see what happens. Like you said, Tibs is out, so it’ll be a new system, but at the end of the day, it’s the same players. They have that chemistry. And you think Bridge is going to play all 82 games again? Easily. Easily. Even I had seen a stat in 2023. He had played 83 games due to the trade with the Suns. He played that extra game. So, it’s it’s four years in a row. It’s honestly magnificent what he’s done. We’ve I haven’t seen a player since I’ve been watching the NBA do something like that. So, yeah.
