Luka Seems To Wants Lakers & Blazers Trade

Luka Seems To Wants Lakers & Blazers Trade

What’s going on everyone? So, now that Luca Donuch is locked in and he’s ready to take on the world uh in a Lakers uniform, especially this upcoming season with the, you know, transformation and the body and everything. So excited. Genuinely, I cannot wait. This dude’s going to just tear the NBA down. Really looking forward to that. But now that you have Luca locked in, he wants to win. He wants to go. I mean, he recruiting this off seasonason, brought in Aiden, brought in Marcus Smart. He’s willing to continue to recruit. do whatever is necessary. He’s all in. He’s willing to to hey, whatever you need from me to go and win a championship, I got you. Don’t worry. Lakers have been, you know, working with Luca. They’ve always been a good organization in that regard, working with their stars to kind of build out the rosters and do what, you know, was best interest of said star. But Luca Donuch in particular kind of laid out the archetypes of players that he wants, right? And this was covered in the ESPN report. uh when you know Luca had signed and he said um Donuch was encouraged to share the archetypual players archetypual players uh he felt the roster could use a pick and pop guy a defensive stopper a rim protector so the Lakers could identify realistic players to fit that mold. So you could argue that the Lakers already have like half that, right? Max Cleba is that pick and pop guy, that floor spacer. Eighton can also be that, not from a three-point perspective, but from that like 15 foot range. So you could argue and clea kind of solve that the pick and pop guy for you. You can operate, you could be the lob threat with Jackson Hayes and DeAndre Aton, and then you can run the pick and pop with uh Maxi Cleba as well as DeAndre Aton. Okay, maybe check. The other is um you know going and and bringing in Marcus Smart, that defensive stopper, that point of attack, that defensive guy, right? Well, okay, check. So, you could argue you need the rim protector. DeAndre Aton himself said that he wants to be a better rim protector, right? And a better shot blocker that he wants to be that guy. So, it’s very possible that depending on how things kind of shape up for the Lakers that they have just that they have their pick and pop guy, they have their, you know, their rim protector, they have their defensive stopper. However, I do look at this and I do go, you know what this sounds like? It sounds like the Portland Trailblazers trade, right? Matis Styel, your defensive stopper, versatile, slot in, defend one through three on occasion, some fours, and your rim protector, Robert Williams, right? Like again, unless you’re going and trading for a Nick Claxton or a a you know, are you going to go trade for a Walker Kesler? Like, I don’t even know if you can at this point, right? Like with Utah’s price, how do you how do you get those things? Unless again Luca looks at Marcus Smart, DeAndre Eaton, and Max Clea as those the solutions to those options. Very well could be, but I just I you know, reading through the report and everything like that and kind of going over like okay like how like what’s the next step here? You look at it and you go okay so Luca wants the Portland Trailblazers trade, right? Which has been reported is the most likely to happen if a trade was to happen. uh wouldn’t cost the Lakers as much as some of these other potential trades and stuff and solved two major needs. The only problem with the Portland trade is just injuries. Like if you told me that uh you know a Matis Dybel and a Robert Williams III was going to be fully healthy this year, not even 82 games, like let’s say 65 games, just the threshold, right? that both guys are going to give you 65 games and on top of that they’re going to be fully healthy come playoff time. I would say trade whatever you have to trade to go get them. If you have to give up your first, if you have to give up connect, if you have to whatever it is, package that together and go get those guys cuz that might be the difference between you winning a championship or not. Genuinely, I mean, Robert Williams is the exact player this team needs. Big, strong, physical interior, just bulling a china shop on the inside. guy that can be the lob threat as well as block shots. I mean, the guy in limited minutes is like a two blocks a game guy. Imagine what he is if he’s playing, you know, the full minutes. Think like last year his his blocks like per 36 was like three and a half blocks per game, right? The guy can block shots, rebound, do everything. Guy is exactly what this team needs. And if shot is better, you might even be able to experiment a little bit and have both of them out there like see what Aiden can do in like, you know, some pick and pop action. Right. So, to me, Robert Williams is exactly what this Lakers team needs, right? And is exactly the type of player that Luca Donuch says he wants. Again, I read it for you, right? Luca says that’s the kind of guy he wants. Well, Robert Williams solves that. Okay. Well, he wants a defensive stopper. Matis Styel, I’d love an Andrew Wiggins, but Matise Dyel is probably the more realistic guy. Talk about a guy that’s, you know, 6’5, 66, but he has that like seven foot wingspan. And that’s the that’s why he’s so good at just swarming guards and being able to defend even bigger players because he has like even, you know, some of these 68 guys don’t have the wingspan long enough to to shoot over like he can still at least match. There’s a big difference when a guy, you know, a guy 6’8 and you have like a 65 wingspan and you’re just like here, right? Matise is here, right? Matis is right in, you know, in their grill. That’s why Marcus Smart is able to defend. And now you have Marcus Smart, Matis Thyel, Jared Vanderbelt. I mean, you could swarm teams defensively. Imagine having those three guys out there just defending alongside Aiden and Luca. Put Jared Vanderbilt at the four, Thyel or or I guess Marcus Smart at the three. Uh, and then thyel at the two alongside Luca and DeAndre Aton. Good luck scoring. But nonetheless, right, like those that’s the defensive stopper guy again that Luca highlights. So, you know, I read that and I go, “Oh, so he wants basically the Portland trade.” The problem is is that we don’t know if they’re going to be healthy. We don’t And the Lakers can’t overpay for them right now because it doesn’t make sense. It’s too risky. Look, I’m somebody that have said on numerous occasions, I have no problems when a team overpays as long as it’s justified and warranted. This would not be justified and warranted, right? because both guys can’t stay healthy, especially Robert Williams. Like, you don’t know if Robert Williams is going to even give you 20 games, right? So, you can’t sell the farm for those two. I think that those two healthy added to this Lakers team, Lakers might be the best team in all of basketball. Like genuinely, especially if Matis Style can continue that, you know, 38% from three-point range cuz I mean you you have a legit three and D guy that can defend multiple positions plus Jerry Vanderbilt, plus Marcus Smart plus like and you have that rim protector and Robert Williams, all of it, right? So, if I’m the Lakers, I look at that trade and go like, hey, that could be the difference between you winning a championship or not. You might argue, okay, well then if that’s the difference, then go make the trade and do whatever you have to. But here’s the thing. one, they could just leave in the offseason, which I’m not really worried about, but that’s something that needs to be factored in if you’re the Lakers, just like every other team would factor that in. Like, hey, if we sell the farm to go get these guys and they just leave next season, then what, right? But the biggest thing is you don’t know if they could stay healthy. Best ability is availability. And I’m not somebody that thinks that you should make decisions solely on, you know, injuries, right? Talk about it all the time, right? Like if you’re if you’re basing something on a guy potentially getting hurt, it it you’re foolish, right? Because you don’t know. You don’t know if a guy’s going to play say 82 games or if he’s going to play 20 games, right? Like you don’t know. But there are calculated and you know, like, hey, this guy for his career is playing around, you know, 55. Like Matis Dybo I’d be fine trading for, right? Because it’s like he’s giving you he’s giving you enough games to warrant and justify as long as he’s healthy come playoff time, you’re good, right? It’s the Robert Williams part of it where it’s like his career. I mean, you’re not just talking about a year where you could go, okay, like maybe that was just a bad year. No, his entire the most games he’s played is 61. And he’s played the last three seasons exactly 61 games combined. So, in the last seasons he’s played not even a full season of basketball in three seasons. That is to me not a calculated risk. That’s not a that is a decision that I think you should base on you know again circumstances context matters context is important and the context surrounding Robert Williams is like you cannot sell the farm for that guy because you don’t know if he can stay healthy and also what type of contract does he want you know if he wants 20 plus million a year you’re crazy right so there’s there’s a lot of factors that go into it but if you could do something like you know like say because Matis Style and and Robert Williams are roughly 25 million. If you could do something like Maxi Clea, Gabe Vincent, and Dalton Connect, right? Those three, four, those two, and then you free up like a million and some change. I think it’s like a million and a half. So, you basically have enough money to fill that roster spot that you’re sending out with Dalton Connect, right? Then I would do that all day because you still have your first, you still have Ruie, you still you basically you have everything. You’re you’re doing what you need to do for for Portland. They’re getting veteran guys they could go and trade to other teams just even get like a second round pick uh or just let the money fall off their books. They don’t care. But they get Dalton Connect for two guys that they’re going to lose in the offseason regardless. And how many teams are going to overpay and line up to sell the farm for Robert Williams and Matis Style? Probably no one, right? Like but question is would Portland be willing to take less to send him elsewhere than the Lakers? Something else you got to keep in mind too. But I don’t I just was reading the report and just came across that and I was like, “Oh, so it’s the it’s the Blazers trick, right?” Because the the Andrew Wiggins situation that solves the defensive stopper, but it doesn’t get you the the rim protector. Now, this isn’t something that the Lakers necessary have to do today, right? Like they could take their time, let things kind of grow and develop, you know, piece it out and then kind of figure it out from there. But we’ll see. It’s going to be interesting to see how this kind of all plays out. But uh you know I I if if you can do the Portland trade for a reasonable price, you do the Portland trade for a reasonable price. Genuinely, I think that’s what the Lakers should do. But anyway, as always, this is a discussion, past question on you. Let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments. Lakers could use some upgrades to the roster still and Luka Doncic said the type of players hes interested in. Lakers Trade with the Portland Trailblazers has been heavily linked in Lakers News but so far we haven’t heard anything but if Lakers Nation sees Luka pushing for Thybulle and Willaims Lakers will probably trade for him.

  1. lakers Are not 100 percent sure if gonna blow out win….to the play offs…they need total Revamp.they Need Thybulle Robert Williams..,they need trade Hachimura Austin Reeves Dalton Knect And gabe Vincent and future pick to this 3 blazer player Rob do this….Asap…if u like to make it to the finals again…dnt blame it…

  2. Im glad Luca came to terms that he is in the right place now. LA is going to get a boost in its image after, the World Cup, The Olympics and Super Bowl. Also many projects going on to improve many aspects (yes I am aware of the homeless issue), museums, theme park expansions, too many things to list here

  3. As a true Lakers fan and not a crazy one, I really hope the Lakers just be smart. This is not our year unless Luka just is the clear MVP. Luka playing defense also, there is just no chance LeBron is just too old. Last 2 years he just dies out trying to play offense and defense. What I'm trying to say is maybe the best move is saving everything when we have cap space and I believe we will have 3 first round picks to trade. We need to be smart. I am a fan of waiting. The West is stacked plus everything's gotta go your way health wise. Going all in right now seems like a sucker's bet.
I would like to see a video on what you think the Lakers should be doing with our players like AR and RUI. I love AR but it's better to trade them too soon than too late.

  4. The Lakers are good for now. They do not need anyone else at this time. We have to trust that these players have been in the lab! If the Lakers trade anyone , they will make us over pay

  5. Problem is our starters currently all are offensive stars none have defense. That is why we must trade Rui for a elite defensive 3/D Wings

  6. Lakers are trading Gabe and Maxi for Vucevic. The “defensive stopper” is Thiero. Count on it

  7. Cmon now the reason bron reaves wasn’t there at Luka signing was bc they know they safe and not being traded rui and Gabe being there not trynna get traded😂😂

  8. The Blazers won't make any deals with the until the 50th Anniversary of their last trade with LA which happened in 1980.

  9. Luka is no fool he knows that LeBron is therecto win and so is he, anyone that knows basketball knows what this team needs but the front office, yhey should have done this last season when AD was on the team they would have won it all they wouldn't need to move that many players to put around a player that can't play defense

  10. Portland has no reason to do this both there guys are expiring contracts so they don't need our expiring contracts and Lakers are not giving up the FRP. And a 2nd and pick swaps won't cut it

  11. The Lakers should play the long game with the Portland Trailblazers and they’re not gonna use them players. They just won’t draft capital for them and I think the Lakers need just that draft capital there’s something comes up later on we could use but not on the Portland place.

  12. The Lakers aren't trading a first for Thybulle and Williams, even if they were fully healthy.

You're not giving up the only tradable first you have for two role players. Especially when you don't have your second star under contract long term. They can wait to get Williams on the buy out market.
