Don’t tell me this crap about getting hurt and all this. If you are one of the great elite teams in the history, I heard Bob Walton. I hope Bob Ryan talk about this and Bob Ryan said they’re one of the greatest teams ever to play. If you’re the greatest team to ever play, Bob, you got to come up with more. Single season. Single season. Single. No. No, it’s not said. Well, they did win, Max. They won with you in They won with you in 84. You didn’t hear people say that. They said one of the greatest teams ever to play. Period. I heard nobody say it’s a continuation. I’ve never heard anybody said, see, even my broadcast partner asked me about that. It’s a continuation of what you built. How do you feel that one they’re one of the greatest teams ever to play? I said, no. I said, no. And he said, you can’t say that. I said, “Well, you asked me a question, and I think I’m supposed to answer it if not the way you want it. But if you want me to tell you the the truth, the fact is that I want my my team, who is one of the greatest teams ever to play, to win more more than one championship.” Were they elite in the season that they played? Yes, they were. But for the greatest teams of all time, no, they weren’t because you did not win enough games for me. Fair enough. Again, one quote me on it. Please do. That’s what I’m saying. Like I said, it’s it’s a matter of how you interpret the question. If you’re talking about a single season, which I think people do because when they talk about teams, when you’re ranking them, you rank 86 Celtics, 84 Celtics, 2008 Celtics, you know, you’re ranking just that season and how they were there. But yes, obviously being able to win more than one creates, you know, this vibe that Do you do you think that they were greater than Paul Pearson’s team and Kevin as on its own? Yes. And as I said is to me 86 is the end of what what what was being built starting you know with the arrival of Larry and Kevin and Robert and you having won two titles 81 and 84 and 86 was the end with some tweaks. So I view it as that Celtics era won the three titles, not the 86 team came short of, you know, actualiz realizing their expectations by not winning more. They already Give me Give me a trash can, Larry. Give me a trash can. So I I this man about to make me throw up.

Cedric was and is a racist that never accepted Bird was a better player than himself. Maxwell was traded and wasn't a part of the great '86 team. He has been crying sour grapes since. I take anything he says with a grain of salt. Call him a whambulance!!

87 lakers won of best teams ever, 88 Lakers were flat lucky against pistons or they would have 3 peated. 83 76ers won one and considered one of greatest teams ever. Max is mad cause he was traded in 85 and not part of 86 Celtics.

Bill Walton was a gamble that was a upgrade to back up Parish in 86. Furthermore. Red. The genius after taking the risk on Walton and then winning in 86 drafted Len Bias. Maybe that team might of won another chip if you know what happened didn't.

Teams are measured by the SINGLE SEASON they played not the decade. Not NBA team is EXACTLY the same year after the year, and yes injuries play a huge role in winning Rings
Cedric confusing Great Team Seasons with a DYNASTY. A DYNASTY should win more than 1 Championship.
The Lakers in the 80's were a Dynasty, so was the Bulls in the 90's…the 1986 Celtics were a Great Team, one of the greatest in a single season

Deep down I believe Cornbread resents Larry. And that’s a shame. Most every other expert ranks the 86 Celtics as the greatest team ever, & as much as I like Cornbread personally, I just have to disagree on this.
"If you're the greatest team of all time, you win more than one championship". This is a copout. Parish and DJ were already getting old, Bird was two years away from injury, Len Bias died, Walton's feet finally gave out. If none of that had happened then it would be the 87 Celtics as the greatest rather than the 86. They still went to the finals. If Len Bias doesn't happen and they add Reggie Lewis then they're still a contender well into the 90s. It's just dumb bad luck. People are obviously talking about the greatest single team, not dynasties anyway.
