Who’s the greatest Laker ever? In terms of who’s number one in the fans eyes, it’s probably Kobe just because the connection with the fans, the competitiveness, the mindset, all that kind of stuff. But in terms of who had the best Laker career, it’s Magic. They both won five titles, but Magic had two more MVPs, one more finals MVP, two more finals appearances. He just was more accomplished and he did it in less time. Number two is pretty self-explanatory. It’s Kobe. Number three is Kareem. He had five titles, eight finals appearances, three MVPs, a finals MVP, one of the best scorers in Lakers history. He was elite. Number four, we have Jerry West. He had nine finals appearances. He won a championship. He was the logo. He was great. And he was a lifelong Laker. That matters. At number five, I have Shaq. He only spent eight years with the Lakers, but he won three titles. He won an MVP. Three straight finals MVPs. He’s the most dominant player ever. So, he’s number five. At number six, I have Elgen Baylor. And yes, he didn’t win a championship, but he made eight finals appearances. He averaged 27 points a game. He averaged 38 points per game in a season. At number seven, I have LeBron. So MJ over LeBron because what he accomplished over everyone was done in less time right ??? PPG … 30 … Finals MVP 6….. more scoring titles than anyone .. period.. and has 2 .. 3 peats .. more than likely will have those accomplishments in less time from now until the end of time… I know it sounds ridiculous … but these are things that people value… winning … but winning in the facet that MJ did … in an era where the flashiest player actually won…. Even if there was a big man to somewhat MJ did.. they still would not have crowned the big man the title of GOAT … reason why Kareem and Russell are not in the convo … Russell was a defensive mastermind… who had HOF scorers on his team…. Who potentially could have won multiple MVPs and finals MVPs… no one on the bulls .. would have won an MVP .. first 3 peat .. hell no… second 3 peat… 😂… maybe some people can try to argue … until they look at the numbers … for MJ … but .. regardless .. propaganda tries to push LEBRON … because it’s entertaining but MJ was a psychopath… so for him to basically sell his soul for basketball… give him that title … until someone sacrifices everything to accomplish what MJ did… they won’t be the GOAT… LeBron won’t do something like that.. alienate himself.. West should be top 3 with Magic and Kobe. Lifelong Laker as a player and also his contributions as GM during the 80’s and putting together the Shaq Kobe Lakers. George Mikan should be top 5, leader of the Lakers and first NBA Dynasty in the NBA winning 5 championships including the first 3peat. LeBron is not even a top 10 Laker when there’s also guys like Wilt Chamberlain, James Worthy, Michael Cooper, Derek Fisher and I would include Pat Riley and Phil Jackson as coaches because of their contributions in the 80’s and 2000’s. Even Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom contributed more to the Lakers. LeBron’s stint in LA has been underwhelming.
