So KD has been looking for a ring since he left the Golden State Warriors in 2019. Looking for a ring as a bus rider, as Charles Barkley would say. All these bus riders, they don’t mean nothing to me. If you ain’t driving the bus, don’t walk around and tell that you’re a champion. You’re the bus driver and you got all that pressure where you have to play well or you going to get to blame. That’s a different animal. And we all know what he’s talking about. So in 2019, he signs with the Brooklyn Nets. So does Kyrie Irving. If he had won the championship with the Brooklyn Nets, I would have definitely said that he was the bus driver. But he didn’t win a championship with the Brooklyn Nets. As a matter of fact, as close as he ever got was the second round of the playoffs. That towe on the line game against the Bucks, that was not the Eastern Conference Finals. That was the second round. Then the following year, the Nets got swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
