Cooper Flagg Hasn’t ERASED all the Frustration with the Dallas Mavericks Yet

Today’s episode, I am joined by the guy that runs Mabs Moneyball, my former boss in a way. No, I went we were we were we worked underneath another lady. We were I was going to say we were on the same level at that point. Oh, yeah. Kirk Henderson, Kirk Serious, if you’ve seen him on Twitter and uh Kirk, what you got for me? Oh man, we are in the depths of summer and I didn’t know I have to record tomorrow and I don’t know what we’re going to talk about. So maybe you’ll give me some ideas here tonight. That’s what we do. We just we just give each other ideas. I know we do that for the DLS show [Laughter] of of which we have a text chain with them and we laugh every time we do the same topic. Today’s episode though, we’re going to play Grumpo Meter. How grumpy is Kirk about a certain Mavs topic because a friend of mine at church today asked me, “Are the vibes back up? Are Mavericks fans back up because of Cooper Flag? Like, are we all the way back? Like, where are we?” And so it made me think about, okay, well, how back are people actually? And if there’s anybody that’s going to maybe not be fully back up or ever up at all, it’s Kirk. You tend to be a very a very grumpy maps fan. It’s it’s an earned reputation. I I would say so having known you for as long as I’ve known you. Yeah. I mean, it’s never as it’s never as tonally like Twitter allows you to re read into tone a lot and like I don’t know. I would say I’m I’m I’m grumpy in the moment, but not in perpetuity. If that I I would agree with that. I would agree with that. But there are there are things that set you off. The the Peter Griffin what you know really grinds my gears segment that he does on Family Guy. I feel like that’s that’s your that’s your that’s your whole uh thing. Okay. I’m going to read a statement and you’re going to tell me zero to five how grumpy are you about this specific thing. Okay. Five being the most grumpy. Five being extremely grumpy. Zero being like, you know what, that doesn’t bother me. rolls off my back. Nothing. Nothing. First one. This is a hard one for you. Cougar Flag is a Dallas Maverick. Just a zero. It’s It’s a zero. I was listening to your intro and I did not record because the Mavericks had a 1% chance of winning. It’s like I was at my kids baseball practice and I just start screaming like a lunatic and no one understood why. And I’m like guys. So, it’s like this is I mean in the range of outcomes I had never really considered this one. So, what and and what’s interesting is I’ve actually followed him a lot just because I really like uh developmental basketball. Uh and so I’ve I’ve paid attention to who he was since he was about 14 or 15 years old and he’s he’s a xenomorph on defense like he he just appears places and then on offense it feels silly to really talk about what his ceiling could be because I think he could be anything. Um, it’s a little little different than Luca because Luca was obviously just so we had had a lot of tape on him. We knew what he was. But it’s like this guy with the exception of his goatee. I’m so thrilled about him. Oh, there we go. There’s a good sentence. Cooper flag is embracing the goatee. That is another statement. Grumpo meter. Mhm. So, oh, well, the go the goatee is about a one. It just This is where my dad jeans kick in. And I remember my own father being like, “You are not having facial hair, which is why I have the beard now.” Uh, no. The beard is directly rebellious against your father. Oh, a little bit. That and the neck fat. Like the two things put together, it’s just that it exists. But with him, I I think somebody asked him about it and he’s just like, “Look, I’m trying something.” Because, you know, I now make $10 million a year. I He can do He can do what he wants. He really can. It still makes me laugh. I’m just very happy he doesn’t have the youth mim haircut, you know, which like the what I occasionally refer to as the Tim Ko. Love you, Timmy. Um, like the curly on top. The curly on top. Yeah, the the would be something. That has that has become the the new look that that’s the the the emover. That’s the new emover from when we were like like we were kids. Um, the thing about Cooper Flag, you mentioned the xenomorph on on defense. I think he’s an anomorph on offense. He could turn into anything. I I just don’t I don’t think we know exactly what his offensive game is going to look like in the NBA. We saw some stuff at summer league where he can handle the ball. He can get his own shot. He’s obviously going to drive a lot and I think he’s going to get fouled a lot in the NBA cuz he’s just so big and so quick and so he can take spot up shots. We’ve seen that. He can run a pick and roll. He can also set screens. Like there’s so many things he can do. I just don’t know what he’s his offensive game is going to fully morph into yet. Yeah. I’m you and I were both at where we at each of his two summer league games and the the stat that sort of just lives in my head that I think about is that he played close to 60 minutes between those two games. It’s got to be around there. You know, do you remember how many turnovers he had? Cuz I do. Was three, right? Three. That was absurd. He handled the ball a lot. He was tired. He made smart decisions. the um the gamewinner in in uh the first game, he saw the read the whole way. And I’ve really, you know, just and because I have like a nine-year-old little boy and he has tunnel vision just the way they are. So like like I’ve really as I’ve as I’ve grown, you know, as I’m watching like youth basketball a lot, I’ve really grown to appreciate like people who can see the floor and like since we’ve been Mavs fans, since you’ve been covering locked on, we’ve had like some really good point guards. I mean, you know, even back during some of the leaner years before Luca, we had guys that knew how to run the point guard position. Make fun of Raymond Felton all you want. The guy knew how to play point guard. And so this year, it’s going to be kind of lean. It’s not to say Brandon Williams and and and our other guys, it’s they’re not their their NBA position is secondary guard. It’s not to say they can’t make reads or anything like that, but it’s just it’s a different level. And I think Flag is going to bring something to the table there where they’re letting him play make a lot and sure there are going to be mistakes. But I’m I’m okay with that because the developmental years like when you’re on the way up the the first three years of Luca were the most fun like in terms of just talking everybody’s not mad yet. So it’s like I’m really looking forward to to that to that part of this. Do you think we’ll get there that people won’t be mad about Cooper flag? Because there is there are expectations for this team because of, you know, the trade and because of Anthony Davis and Kyrie and Nico Harrison’s timeline. Are we going to get to that point or because I’m curious what the what the timeline will look like for Cooper Flag? I feel like there won’t be pressure on him first year necessarily. It’ll a lot of it will be on AD, but I think it’ll be interesting because will we get those first three years non- angry rise for Cooper Flag? See, I I still can’t, you know, with enough time before the season starts, the Mavericks themselves have to be considering an an internal readjustment of expectations and then projecting that outward, calling, you know, calling yourselves a contender. Like the Mavericks don’t have anybody that can attack off the dribble regularly other than AD and maybe maybe DLO right now with with Irving out. So, it just I I think they owe it to themselves to readjust the expectations and say, you know what, we want to make the playoffs and then we’ll take it from there. And I think that you if you walk it back now, are people like me going to continually hold over the earlier statements? Probably. Walk what back? Walk back the the the the were contenders. Yeah. comments. Are people going to continually hold that over the organization? Probably. But are there going to be a lot of people who ride with the expectations the change in in ex you know just maybe being a playoff team? I think so because at the end of the day if you’re a real die hard you’re watching 75 out of 82 games you just want to like the basketball more than anything else and and that’s that’s sort of where I’m I’m coming to. It’s like, you know, you and I sometimes joke about the folks in our comments that get really ang, you know, that are they’re just going to disappear if the team happens to not be great, whereas we have to keep watching and because it’s our job, you know, we like the team, but it’s also our job. And I just really want to watch good, at least interesting basketball. I’m trapped by this team now. And so, and so are you. Yeah, but but but I will say like if if you know we’re talking about me being grumpy, they’re going to be weird and and weird is weird is different. Like heading into the 24-25 season, my co-host Josh Bo, who is a really analytical guy and and I don’t think he’d even consider himself like a Mavs fan anymore. He’s just kind of an analyst. He’s just like, there’s not much more I can say about this team. We’ve got to a particular point where this is who they are. how high can the the the ceiling go? Whereas with this Mavericks team, you know, are they going to be the most dribble handoff like team in the league? Like what what sort of weird things are going to happen on offense? Probably. Who’s going to score in the paint on them if Anthony Davis looks awake? Like it’s it’s going to be there’s just like all sorts of like really legitimately interesting angles. And from a coverage point of view, that makes me pretty excited. It’s just so different than what we’ve been used to, right? And to bring up Luca, we’d been used to this this heliocentric ISO basketball that Luca was really great at and they had the Mavs had that for the last six years and it was the only thing you had to build around was that which Luca can raise your ceiling incredibly. But right now the Mavs have Cooper flag, Anthony Davis, like you have these unique pieces that the Mavs have just not had any pieces like that in a long time like wings and forwards that can just do all these different do all these different things and have these unique elite skills. Uh, how many wings have the Mavs had the last couple of years in the Luca era that were like literally just three and D and then that’s kind of I mean the 2022 the the Western Conference Finals run where like you were the third big man on the team. The Bang the Bang Bros and Dwight and Dwight they played those poor guys like 700 plus minutes like there were no Dorian almost didn’t have any tread on his tires at that point. It was did not Yeah. Rest in peace Ricky. That was it. The 2022 run was kind of it for him. Oh yeah. Coming up, I want to ask about the grumpo meter. Nico Harrison said people finally understood the vision for the Mavericks when they got Cooper flag. We’ll talk about that and more coming up. So, we’re that’s what we’ve decided to do here at Lockdown Mavs. And I’m here with Kirk Henderson of Mavs Moneyball with the uh podcast Pod Maverick. You can go check out that show as well. And uh we’re playing Grumpo Meter 0 to five. How grumpy is Kirk or how grumpy are Mavs fans about a specific topic. I said this before. I want to get your thoughts. Nico Harrison said people finally understood the vision for the Mavs when they got Cooper flag. Zero to five on the grumpo meter. I mean that’s got to be a five. It just if I’m in the league office and I hear him say that I am unhappy. A because you’re just feeding into the conspiracy theory chicannery. Uh but B, let’s just let’s just throw aside like I don’t believe there is any conspiracy. I believe the math’s won. Like not even part of you thinks that it was a conspiracy and it was 1.8% chance and that’s just math. No, because the the the way like like the Mavericks hadn’t ever moved up before I think in seven they had stayed the same or moved down or uh moved down 17 times. Uh they were I you know it’s a gamblerish fallacy. They were due and I I was kind I was pre my brain was telling me top four that that was where I was living. I was like oh they’re going to jump but not not to one that because your brain needed something nice in such a dark place. I was sitting there thinking, who could we argue about outside of Cooper Flag because the rest of the guys are just it’s like VJ Edgecomb would have dri like we had a great time just arguing about all these guys and that’s where my head was. But then they they win. I just really didn’t think that that this was a thing. And so his comments just just you sent me back up to 100 because I’m just like come on man, this is not the vision. Secondarily, and we talked about this briefly, I would like the Mavericks. It it’s better for me and all of us if the Mavericks are good. I want them to be good. Agreed. I I really do. People sometimes think that’s not the case. Oh, you don’t like this team? Go follow the Lakers. I’m like, no, I need the team to be good. This helps pay my bills. Our show did better during the finals run than we did during the Luca trade. I looked I looked year I looked year to year recently. I I went over our numbers and we did better during the finals run than we did during Luca trade. It just is it’s incentivized and like there there’s like plus it’s just more fun to watch like like a team like enjoy what you’re doing. And so I want the Mavericks to do well, but a scene that lives in my head, a movie scene is, and I I’ I’ve shared this on Twitter a few times. It’s the uh poker scene in Oceans 11 where Brad Pitt is teaching those Hollywood kids to play and he one guy I I think it’s Toeer Grace puts down he goes, “Hey, look guys, all reds.” And like that’s how I feel about the Mavericks lineup because it’s like you can’t play five forwards. The Mavericks are going to they’re going to Yeah. Naji Marshall at one, Cooper Flack at two. It’s kind of exciting. It’s kind of horrifying. I I really And so it’s like the good weird, but it’s just if if it doesn’t work, it’s going to get uncomfortable. And so for him to say, “This was my vision to play a bunch of forwards.” You know, I’ I’ve had some people pitched me like, “Look, Kirk, he’s literally trying to rebuild the 2020 Lakers. The 2020 Lakers had an offensive engine in LeBron James. Anthony Davis might have been the best player during that playoff run. In fact, he probably was, but the engine was still LeBron. And so, who is the Maverick’s engine this year? And that’s where it gets a little interesting. I mean, it’s fun to talk about flag. And it might be really might be. Okay. So, it’s until Kyrie comes back in some way. And and you know, so to circle back to the statement, it’s just that’s a it’s just a crazy thing to say. Uh like fortune favors the bold is a crazy thing to say. Like it’s admirable because as a person who says lots of stupid things, I I have experience in this and I I want other people to not say stupid things. So Nico Harrison said fortune favors the bold uh because like when the Mavs got the number one pick. Do you think he meant like legitimately like the like the the the like the basketball gods, the universe like fortune came for him because he was bold in some move like that literally happened like some kind of karmic. I mean, let’s let’s analyze his big picture moves going back to the moment he came on board. And let’s just let’s assume that Dennis Lindsay played a part in some of them, but the Christian Wood trade where you move four contracts for Christian Wood, that’s a and a and a pick. That’s a gamble cuz Wood didn’t work. Only Luca is is a floor raiser. After that, you have Kyrie Irving. That is a mask gamble. I am on record hating that trade so much because Kyrie Irving had a lot of backage. Now he’s won me over. I was wrong. Then after that, you head to the next uh trade deadline where he attempted to trade two firsts for what we now know is the corpse of Kyle Kosma. It just that’s an allin move. All change his number to zero. He’s going to he’s going to be back up this year. All of those are could be described as all-in moves. And then the it just didn’t work because for some reason the Wizards are nuts. And PJ Washington and Gaffford, if you view those as kind of one collective move, which I do in my head, another all-in move. But a great move. A great move. And now Luca Donuch an all-in move. So he’s got like when he says fortune favors the bold, I think he means it because he’s sitting here saying, “I’ve done things that have paid off.” Now, does any gambler acknowledge the the bets that don’t pay off? I don’t think so. It did a couple times, but Okay. But I I don’t think you’re going to get Nico Harrison to say, you know, I really wish that Kyle Koosma trade would have worked out. You know, no. And it’s definitely a PR thing for them to point out the things that that worked and to continue to point those things out. And it feels like Nico has gone back to, well, you guys didn’t think Kyrie would would work and now look at that point like he’s he’s done that. Go back to the Porzingis trade that he made. Like one of the first big moves we were like, “Oh my gosh, that was a a big risk where you bring in Dwitty and Davis Bertton.” Like that at the time seemed nuts and you had to really squint to see the vision of that one and then that one ended up working out too. It is kind of wild that these moves have worked out for him. Um, all right. Another another grumble meter statement. Nico Harrison is still the GM of the Dallas Mavericks. Three. My my my my heart says five, my my brain says two to three because I in my in my where I stand is that I believe ownership, you know, we got so used to Mark Cuban being so involved. A lot of owners literally give GMs, you know, just go do the job. Come to me with anything you think you need to come to me for. I think Nico Harrison has the ability to has been given the ability to do his job as he sees fit. That’s not been the case for Dallas teams. Right. Right. And so we’re all just sort of like that’s a great point. We’re all sort of brain broken by this. Like I I compare what Nico the power that Nico Harrison has to what Neil O’Shea had up up in Portland where he could kind of do whatever he wanted right up until he couldn’t. And I think that’s going to be the case with with Dallas. And so there’s as much as we will want to chant fire Nico, they’re not going to do it right now. Now is this season like if if they come out and don’t look great, do I expect Nico Harrison to be the general manager by the time the Dallas Mavericks draft in 2026? I don’t because I that’s just too much. You can’t promise the moon after the finals and yeah, underperform twice. I think Kid will be the the sacrificial he’ll be the scapegoat first before Nico. Mhm. But but we’ll see coming up. Coming up, uh Kyrie Irving, Mark Cuban says something a little crazy about Derek Lively, maybe something on Luca. Rumble Meter continues coming. [Music] Today’s episode of Locked on Apps brought to you by Monarch Money. Monarch Money is something that I use a lot because managing your money should be easier than it is. But in today’s day and age, we have so many different apps, so many different things to uh create wealth, to use different tools. I have these different credit cards that I use the I use different points for. One’s for travel, ones for uh dining out, ones for all these, you know, streaming services. Uh like Lyft has a certain thing where they’re like, “All right, you get this percentage back if you use this credit card.” So now I have these credit cards that I’m trying to use all these points, trying to balance everything. And so now I have transactions all over the place, and I got to manage them all in one place. That’s where Monarch Money comes in. It’s more than a budgeting app, though. It’s a complete financial command center. You can track all your accounts, investments, and spending all in one place. So, in addition to managing your money, you’re also building wealth. You can connect like your 401k, your mortgage, your student loans, anything. You can connect to Monarch Money. Kirk Henderson here from Mabs Moneyball and we’re playing Grumble Meter talking about things that happened so far this summer and how grumpy we are about them. Um here’s one. Lucanic went on a press tour after getting in phenomenal shape and committing to conditioning this summer. Finally, big five. It’s very upsetting all the way. It’s upsetting when my mother calls me to ask if I saw Luca Dunca, as she calls him. Oh, no. She’s in her mid70s. She can’t She couldn’t say that name if she tried. Love her to pieces. And she’s just like, “Our friend Luca was on the, you know,” and I was just like, “Our friend.” Okay, mom. Cool. So, I I don’t know. Five’s probably been much. Let’s just let’s say three. Um, does your mom also think you work for the Mavericks? No, but she does not know that I do this or doesn’t acknowledge that I do it. It’s the best when she calls me and she’s like, “Did you watch the game yesterday?” And it’s like, “Maybe. I’m not sure, Mom.” My extended family thought that I worked for the Mavericks for a long time because he does a thing Mavericks. It’s like he works for like that’s the only thing that could compute. It was very That’s right. So, I I I would say that that press conference, the only reason it’s a little maddening is because of course it comes now when he’s not a Maverick, right? He’s been this good and been the face like a face of the NBA for at least the past two seasons and of course he only gets this now and that that bothers me. Um, are you are you more upset about the inshape part or the PR tour part? I would say the PR tour part because let’s just say I think the Nshape thing. Let’s just see how it goes. Our our our guy Luca has a just remarkable ability in season to change his shape. Um, somebody compared it to Tony Romo’s belly once and I just that just sort of lives in my head. Um, so I don’t know. I I believe like Luke is the kind of guy who could play basketball in on one leg. So it’s like is he going to change his game that much? I mean you one of the things I think about often is like oh well his rim pressure really really went down and I’m like yeah he also threw a gillion lobs in a season. Is that accounted for? What are we doing? That’s a great point. I don’t know. I don’t know. So that’s where I am. Yeah, the the PR tour. Oh man. Um, yeah, I want to do a couple on on the actual Mavericks. Kyrie Kyrie Irving says, “Don’t hold your breath on him returning to play this next season.” Uh, he’s never come back from an injury early, so why should we expect one on a really scary one? So, so you’re not grumpy about this at all? You’re like, “This is zero.” Expect. So, where I sit in my fandom is I would rather be wrong and pleasantly surprised than right and angry. Now, that might surprise people, but it’s going to be so much cooler to me if he comes out of the tunnel like it’s a wrestling entrance around game 74 and the Mavericks are fighting to hold on to, let’s just say, the six seed, something like that. And and that emotional boost could carry the the Mavericks into the playoffs. That’d be really cool to me. Needing him to get there sucks because it places too high of expectations on him. Most ACL injuries, the guys that come back from it say they’re not themselves for quite a while, even after returning. And that’s I just don’t think that’s a fair expectation to place on him. It’s not his fault. He tore his ACL. Yeah, it’s it’s Jonas Valenunis’ fault. I still I still can’t I my blood boils a little bit every time I think about being in TD Garden during the finals for Porzingis’s return. Was it game was it game one or game two? He like they put him they there’s a camera on him walking through the walking through the hallway back through the tunnel like long way tunnel back then then to the tunnel like back in. Oh, and the crowd was that was maybe the loudest they were the whole time. Save for maybe when they actually you know what I’m going to that was the loudest that they were the whole time. Even when they won the title, that was the loudest is when Porzingis was making his like wrestling return to the floor randomly. He was so good. I hated that so much. Oh, just like poetic justice for him in a way. And that’s that maybe his last relevant NBA moment. Pretty good one to have though. I I would say so. Yeah. Uh here’s another statement. Kyrie Irving is an internet streamer now. I’m really glad we don’t have to cover everything he says. So, let’s call that a I’m not grumpy about it. Let’s call it a one. You didn’t watch the 24 the 24-hour stream. I mean, the the one thing when you talk like the the cool part about when you talk all the time is you just flood the zone so you can’t get in trouble because no one no one is really paying attention to everything you’re saying. So, I I mean, and plus, you know, a lot of the newsworthy bits end up making it our way. Uh, which is nice. I like hearing him talk about stuff, though. He He’s He’s just so like he’s a politician. Like, he he says so much without saying a single thing. His answers are a little different now, but when he first came to the Mavericks, remember he used to get those transcribed press conference clippings where have like 600word answers. Like he didn’t say anything here. This is amazing. So now he’s just doing that and making money. I I’m kind of impressed. His answers were like a M’s money bar article sometimes like right in length. Mark Cuban suggested that Derrick Lively could take two to three threes per game next season. I mean, he’s one of us now, so he’s still got he’s still got ownership stake. He’s still around. He’s still Oh, sure. But but press conferences in a way, which just because he’s a good quote, but I mean, he has as much input on the team as we do. He’s he’s a very highly compensated like season ticket holder now, as as you know, it’s my my I would like to see that. So, I would call it my grumpiness meter on that is a zero. Um because I think for the Mavericks offense to work, there has to be some floor spacing. Yeah. So, let’s get weird. And so, um but lock Barlo’s a locked on guy, right? Raphael. Raphael. He was. But no. Okay. So, when when we were talking during that draft process, he was the one that came through early and was like, “Guys, this guy our show he’s on our show in February.” That’s right. he came through and and during the draft combine or during the pre-draft process, he’s like he’s like, “This guy’s a riser and he’s hitting threes.” So, why not see it? You know, what’s the downside? If they’re going to miss threes, why not have missed threes from a weird dude instead of PJ Washington? But well, that’s the thing. Like, there’s there’s a bunch of shaky shoot three-point shooters on the Mavericks. They’re going to play a lot of minutes. I don’t know what Cooper Flag’s going to be. I expect him to be a good three-point shooter, but rookie season, maybe not immediately. Yeah. Yeah. rookie season, the line moving back. Who knows on that? Anthony Davis really shaky three-point shooter. Oh, I mean heinous. Like you’re being kind. He’s a heinous three-point shooter. Naji Marshall was really bad last year and and like has had one and a half seasons of of good three-point shooter. Like there are some bad three-point shooters on on the Mavericks. And so I give Lively the chance. I’m with you. I I don’t think it’s going to happen. Like I just I don’t see the logical path to it, but I really hope we see it is is where I am. So, so let’s call that a zero on the grumpy meter. Okay. Okay. I like that one. Klay Thompson is in love with Megan Stallion according to him. Yeah. He needs to get married and take her name and the Mavs need to sell the sell the Stallion jerseys. Who told me who told me yesterday it’s uh Clay the shooter. Clay the shooter. Just all capitalized the just I’m I’m here for it. I’m here for it. And you know what? We’ve known this for years. You in particular have known this for years. A man in love like Maxi Cleber way back in the day can hit buckets. All right. A guy in the right head space, a guy who’s happy at home is is happy at work. Okay. I’m really like Clay. Let’s a big time Clay season coming. Let’s Let’s project. Let’s go. I’m ready. I’m ready for it, too. You know what I’m ready for is for me the Stallion to turn into Taylor Swift for the Mavericks and like every like they just show her on the Jumbotron every every quarter or something like that. That’s right. She’s on the broadcast. My mother will also ask me questions about who that is. Looking forward to that. What will she call her? Megan. I’m horrified. I can’t even project that one. The girl with the asses. I was just Yes, probably. Um Jaden Hardy summer workout video has dropped and some people are hyped for him again. Yes, that did he learn how to dribble? There is some dribbling in it for sure. Really? Okay. Oh, Jaden, just a just I I sat behind I think a woman he was dating in a game once. Um and it was she was just so excited watching him play. Uh I I hope for good things for for Jaden because like we said, the Mavericks need dribbling. Um his confidence is probably one of the unheralded fun things about the Mavericks because when he just goes out there every time and it’s like it’s like nothing happened the time before. Doesn’t care. I mean, because he was so awesome in the playoff run and it and then he was so bad last year and it’s like what happened? How are you bad in the games that don’t matter and amazing in some of these games that are just like total total pressure cookers? It’s like they only can should play him they should play him as like the closer like Mariana Rivera just like bring him out when the times are like really like like in a really tough situation because that season when the Mavericks missed the entire postseason when everything felt like every shot felt like it was life or death at the end of the season because everything was on the line. Jaden Hardy was just out there just having fun. Rookie year like just taking shots with Luca and Kyrie. Then the playoff run, Western Conference Finals, Jason K’s like here Jaden Hardy, go out there and dribble and make buckets. And he did. And then finals, same thing. It’s like he can only operate when everything’s on the line and then when it’s regular season when things don’t matter as much. It’s w it’s wild how different it is. Looking forward but you’re not grumpy about that. I the workout videos are great. They just they’re they’re the copium of the off season. Um, I I heard somebody refer to to Ben Simmons as a Marvel superhero in all of his workout videos and then he just then he looks like original Steve Rogers when it comes time to to actually play basketball. So, I don’t know. It’s fun. Like my Do you remember the Willie Collie Stein ones? Those were Oh, yeah. Those were just just peak peak Mavs off season. So, it’s I would say, you know, it’s it’s a one. I’m not grumpy about a man touting himself. You you got to have confidence to stay in the NBA. For sure. For sure. And he got a he got a contract. He got he’s getting paid to play NBA basketball. So that’s right. There you go. Go check out Kirk Pod Maverick and Mavs Moneyball. Great stuff all the time going on over there. That’s basically where I got my start in this business. So uh shout out to them. And we will be back tomorrow with uh with more with Isaac and I and probably slightly doing some stuff. We’ll have some fun. Thanks so much for listening to Lockdown Ms. Peace out.

Don’t forget “Fortune favors the bold.”
FOR YOU, CAUSE YOURE GEN X OR MILLENIAL AND OVERLY EMOTIONAL, N QUITE FRANKLY NICK, A LITTLE FEMININE! AS A 35 YEAR MAVS FAN, WHO REMEMBERS TEAMS LADEN WITH TALENT BUT STILL STRUGGLING TO WIN 20 GAMES A YEAR…. IM GOOD!
First off they gotta play some games and the fans see results for that process to even start for the ones who refuse to get over it lol
Fire Nico
I feel nothing for this org
It’s still feels like AD is a rental player. Like he’s really not part of the team and we’re only going to see him in between injuries.
I am so excited that we have cooper flag but until we get someone that can replace 20 or 30 points a game like Luka did I am not excited about the next season. I wish Nico could get Luca back. That would make all of us happy in Dallas.
No not until Nico is out. Dirk and Lock on Mavs the only thing keeps me checking Mavs
Nnnoooooooo vibeses shoutout kirk
Smh nico isnt in a hospital is surprising doesnt deserve to live in the lone star
Luka was traded for Flagg.
As a mavs fan for 25+ years we do not care about nico, Im 150% in on the team we have, Cooper flagg is the new chosen prince of dallas, Move on n3rds.
Brandon Williams can most definitely attack the basket also.
The people of Chicago are still mad at Jerry Krause almost 30 years later for firing Phil Jackson and losing Michael Jordan. I can't imagine ever not being pissed off about this Luka trade.
Yea i think im gonna chill watching anything mavs related till season because its just gonna piss me off
I don't understand why these "so called Mavs fans" who are hating on the current team, are still here smh 💙🤍 Why don't you just follow Luka on the Lakers smh
I like Kurt just tells truth! Everyone else sugar coats every thing
No respect for Megan thee free Tory she’s a lying ass mf
Bro, y'all need to let it go and look forward to the future. At this point it's an obsession.
Why stop being mad when the problem is still there. Hint.. it's not the players.
Nico will trade for LeBron so he can win it all now. Kyrie, AD, Flagg, Thompson, LeBron.
You guys and the Mavs front office still don't get it. It does not matter that the Mavs got Cooper Flagg. he isn't Luka and never will be. Nico is a true POS and they need to get rid of that malcontent AD. They will never win a championship with him on the floor. Actually he won't be on the floor because he will be hurt by the end of December and out for the season.
See this is why I said kyrie shouldn't have gotten paid.should have got a young PG
His mom would call her “the girl with the stallion ass” 😂
We actually give Locked On Mavs ALL of the great segment ideas 🤨😂😂😂
Need more of these
As long as liar, thief, traitor untrustworthy GM
Nico Harrison is the GM
I am NO LONGER a fan.
Instead I follow LA Lakers
& the WNBA Fever.
Still mad? Ask me this question again in 2 years.
For me I need at least 2 of 3 things to happen. 1. nico needs to be fired. 2. Jason kidd needs to be fired. 3. Kyrie Irving needs to be off my team
CROSSOVER OF THE CENTURY
Circle jerk podcast at this point. I doubt any player will talk to you guys.
Luka in LA living his best life. Dallas clown fans at home crying over the guy that took their girl.
Yeah but here all we do is cry about Luka
