Shams keeps reporting that Giannis may leave Bucks despite Giannis saying this…

We’re in the middle of the offseason, but Sham Shirania still believes that Giannis could leave Milwaukee. He went on Get Up. He went on First Take and he went on ESPN Milwaukee to talk about it. Despite Giannis saying this a few days ago, I got drafted. I was excited. Somebody came by. I was like, “Hey, can you um give me autograph?” I was like, “Yeah, sure.” GA. And then I put the the ko basically. Uh I did it a couple times. Maybe I did the first like I don’t know maybe like a thousand first thousand autographs that I gave away and then I was like ah no I I can’t be doing this for the rest of my life. Like I I’m I want to have a long career. I’m going to play like 15 20 years in NBA. I can’t be doing these autographs. So all the Milwaukee so so I had to stop. But Shams is still adamant that Giannis could potentially walk out the door in Milwaukee. He went on Get Up and this was his report about Giannis’ future in Milwaukee. So Pete, I’m looking at the date. We’re standing here. It’s August 4th, right? Sources tell me there’s still nothing set in stone about whether Jans enter and Kmpmpo will stay in Milwaukee or whether he will be leaving. And so he’s continuing to evaluate his future. I reported it in miday that he’s evaluating whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it elsewhere. And that process is continuing. Pete, there’s been some very real conversations over the last week or so. The constant question that Giannis has though is, can I win a championship with this roster? Is this roster going to be one for this upcoming year and 2026 27? He wants to win a second championship. So, he’s asking that question over and over. There are multiple teams waiting in the wings potentially if Giannis this off season still makes that decision. Could he have not asked that question in late June, early July before free agency? This is a very tough decision for him though. This is 12 years he spent there. There’s a lot of equity there. He won a championship there. This type of move isn’t going to be easy because this is a Milwaukee Bucks organization. They went out and they stretched and waved Damen Lillard $13 million. They did that because they wanted to show Giannis we’re doing everything in our power to keep you here. But Jans and Koopo is the ultimate decider whether he feels this roster is good. And then Shams went on first take and practically just repeated everything he just said. As we sit here on August 4th, sources tell me there is nothing set in stone about whether Jansen Dudmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee or whether he wants to leave elsewhere. He’s been evaluating his future this entire off season. I reported way back in miday that he’s open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it a trade elsewhere. That process has been continuing. There’s been some real conversations he’s having with his inner circle from my understanding. And the one big question that is surrounding Giannis and Dmpo that’s surrounding his camp is can he win another championship? Is this Bucks roster built for this upcoming season for 2026 27 for him to win another championship, his second championship? We know how bad he wants to do that. And so only Jonathan Dmpo can make that determination and clearly he wants to do it on his own time. I will say this, there are multiple teams that I know of that are literally waiting right now on what decision Giannis into the Kmpo makes, waiting to see does he actually hit the market. Training camps don’t start till mid-sepptember. There have been examples in the past. Kyrie Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics in August when he got moved. Damian Lillard was actually traded to Milwaukee in September. So there are deals that happen late in summers. And on ESPN Milwaukee, Shams brought up the Miles Turner signing and then obviously waving Damen Lillard despite reports saying that Giannis recruited Miles Turner to the Bucks. He’s still in his process of evaluating asking him himself some hard questions. And the questions I’ve heard since the day of the Miles Turner trade and the Damon Miller stretch and wave is, can I win another championship in Milwaukee? Can I win uh with this roster not only next season, but in 2026, 2027? because because in in in all likelihood this roster is pretty much going to be the roster both this upcoming year the year after that uh after the Damian Ler stretch and wave and obviously Bucks fans have taken a huge issue with Sham Shirania’s reporting but here’s what Shams had to say to Bucks fans that don’t like him or don’t like what he’s doing. Yeah, I mean Ben, you’ve known me for a while. I mean I just I just keep my head down. The main thing is the main thing and my job is to report and I I you know I that’s all I’m focused on accurate uh transparent uh you know fair responsible reporting and so uh definitely a story that I’ve been tracking for a while. I mean he if if and when Giannis and Zen Koopo hits the market or is moved obviously it would be monumental for you know around for every every team every person everyone around the NBA and so it’s definitely been a a uh a a a topic I’ve been monitoring and you know it’s something that could very easily be you know like that like there’s nothing with Giannis he’s good he’s secure he he’s he’s 100% um you know going to be a buck for life. Like you can come up with any any way to phrase it, but um it’s obviously something I reported this morning that there’s still nothing set in stone from my conversations on on really both sides that he is is is for sure staying or deciding to leave. And is all this reporting by Shamas because he knows something that we don’t or is it because Giannis tweeted out I think it was a year ago. Does anyone else miss Woge? But as for what Giannis is currently doing, he’s joined the Greek team in preparations for the Euro Basket 2025, which has some big names in it. Luka Donuch is obviously in it as well, and Nicole Jokic, three of the best NBA players, all playing in the Euro Basket, which is going to be absolutely awesome to watch. But as for as for Giannis’ future in Milwaukee, let me know what you think in the comments section. in particular Bucks fans as well.
