Nikola Jokic has crazy basketball IQ #nba #basketball #nikolajokic #nuggets #hoops #bball #fyp

This is how Nicole Joic uses his basketball IQ to destroy teams in the playoffs two years ago against the Clippers when the Nuggets came back from being down 3-1. This is what you probably missed. Throughout the series, Denver had a ton of success running a high pick and roll with Yic and Murray. As the Nuggets set up with one shooter in the strong side corner, this gives our best players an ample amount of space to attack the open driving lanes. And even Joic threw down the hammer. So, the Clippers in the next game had to come in with a new defensive plan. This time when the Nuggets run it as Yogic has a screen and rolls, the guy guarding the corner is going to peel off and tag him. So in contrast, notice in the first example, the corner man stays attached. But in this clip, the defense is helping off the shooter. So the Nuggets have to kick it out. Which brings us to game three. And with the series tied, this is where the brilliance of Nicole Joic helped his team score. The Nuggets run the high pick and roll again, but instead of having just one shooter in the strong side corner, now they ran it with a guy in the dunker. And as Joic comes off, says this player’s occupying helpside, that leaves Nola wide open. And watch what he does on this next play. Before Denver’s even set, he’s already directing traffic and telling his teammates where to go. He points to signal Monte Morris to sit in the dunker spot. And as he listens and jogs over, it’s almost like Joic knew exactly how this play would turn out. As Jokic receives his pass, Sham this time leaves a dunker to stop the roller, leaving Kawhai guarding two. And all Yic has to do is look off the defense to free up Morris for wide open layup.

  1. Jokic playing chess out there for real. When LeBron didn’t have enough help he gave up and ran to team up in Miami. When Jokic didn’t have enough help he got creative and used that to make himself an even better player

  2. i always knew he was a good passer but seeing his genius is amazing, great content, so easy to understand yet so cool to watch

  3. "destroy teams in the playoffs" yet couldn't win without Jamal Murray carrying him to the finals 😂😂😂😂

  4. Shows the value in having a floor general on both ways of the court. Was really impressive seeing Hansen do this in Summer League.

  5. Modern NBA at its best. U don't see centers making plays like that. Traditional centers would just go in the paint and dunk the ball.

  6. Having a 7 footer with the ability to set up open shots before the offense is even set, being able to space the floor, and being able to body his opponents down low sounds like demigod in 2k

  7. Rien de ouf, c'est du basket sur un terrain nba avec bcp d'espace et un défense très moyenne !… son QI basket est phénoménal mais pas spécialement ici 😊

  8. Remember ESPN analysts telling you that Lebron James and Nikola Jokic were the best two at court mapping? Okay, why aren't you seeing videos like this about Lebron seeing the play in advance, then?
