They have one true point guard on the roster and they want to add more but they can’t add another guard without getting rid of a guard. A guard would be going out which now creates an open spot and they have their full mid-level exception that they could then if they chose to turn around an offer to Russell Westbrook who we know they have talked to for a while that Scott Perry is very fond of him. Scott Perry was on the staff that drafted him. There’s mutual interest. So to say, hey, if they’re able to work this Kaminga trade out as it’s presented, that means they’re also going to sign Russell Westbrook.
