So, could the Utah Jazz be trading away Walker Kesler to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Utah Jazz receiving Dalton Connect, a 2030 first round pick and a 2032 first round pick and the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Walker Kesler. So Walker Kesser when he’s brought up in trade conversations has been linked to the Lakers for quite some time now. Now this might not be the case anymore because the Lakers went out and they acquired DeAndre Aton this off season after he was released by the Portland Trailblazers. So I guess on paper their center position is solidified in that regard. But if Walker Kesler truly is available, I would definitely expect the Lakers to do at least their due diligence to see what the asking price may be uh to acquire him. So although center is in a big position of need for them, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have more of an insurance policy and maybe even rock a front court next year of Walker Kesler as well as DeAndre Eaton. Have more of a defensive presence uh there than DeAndre Eton. Now I know both players maybe aren’t the best defensively speaking, but Walker Kesler is a little bit of a throwback where he doesn’t stretch the floor as much. But you can say the same about DeAndre Eaton who’s a little bit better of a score. But these two players I think playing beside each other could actually complement each other quite a bit. the Lakers could have different lineups with these guys. Whatever the case may be, it’s not a terrible idea. Now, from the Utah Jazz’s perspective here, I don’t mind this deal. I guess it depends how much you value Dalton Connect as a player. Like, he is relatively young, a former first round draft pick, and he can be a really good player in the NBA. I think it’s going to probably take at this point a change of scenery for him uh to really develop into that. And I think if you were to go to Utah, it’s a blank slate for him. clean slate and he could have all the runway in the world to be a really good player in the NBA and then maybe they flip him later on, get back even more for him that way. So, more of a longerterm play with Dalton Connect, but he’s a good young player that fits into this team tremendously well from a timeline perspective. A 2030 first round draft pick is intriguing to me because they just resigned Luka Donic, I believe, yesterday if I’m not mistaken. So, he’s going to clearly be the future of the franchise. There’s no doubt about that in my mind, especially once LeBron James does depart. I still expect the Lakers to be pretty good. So, I’m not really too sure how much value that pick carries in a second round draft pick as well in 2032. Isn’t really anything uh in my opinion that moves the needle. So, I think just based on this trade proposal, I think the winner of this deal to me without a doubt would be the Los Angeles Lakers. Uh because the Utah Jazz aren’t getting a lot of sure things here, which I think at this point if you’re giving away Walker Kesler, you better be blown away uh by the return and they can probably get back a better return elsewhere if Walker Kesler was being actively shopped on the trade market.
