I’m not really sold on what Dylan Harper’s role is really going to be on this San Antonio team. Like they have good depth, but because of this De’Arren Fox situation, like it worries me. Those two guys, Harper and Fox, are very similar players. They are kind of duplicates. Two left-handed 6’5 lead guards that need the ball, want the ball, do better with the ball. What’s it going to look like if Fox Castle and Wemby kind of get to build together? And then Dylan Harper is coming in getting spot minutes off the bench.
The San Antonio Spurs just gave De’Aaron Fox a 4-year, $229 million contract extension after trading for him during the middle of the 2024-2025 season in a deal made with the Sacramento Kings. The issue is that San Antonio landed the #2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and drafted Rutgers University guard, Dylan Harper whom now will have to play behind the veteran PG, Fox, to start his NBA career; which is why I think extending Fox was a mistake.
