What’s going on, Bulls Nation? Welcome in to the CSO Bulls podcast. Coming to you live from our studios here in West Loop, downtown Chicago. I’m Peek Bulls Peek. That’s my guy, Big Dave. Bam. Bam. And we’ll take a look at what Jeremy Woo had to say about Modis’s impending second NBA season. But before we get to that, Yeah. Katie, you did an interview. I did. We are about to listen to said interview. We are. Tell the people out there in Bulls Nation what they are about to listen to. Um, well, first things first, hit the like button. Um, obviously hit the like button. Uh, I was joined by, uh, the Zodiac GM. If you’re on NBA Twitter, you’ve seen this count. Um, basically this person rates NBA rosters, front offices, all those kinds of things. Um, based on their, uh, synergy, based on their zodiac signs and, you know, their energies and all those things. It was really interesting. And, um, you know, whether you believe in it or not, just take it as some fun stuff. I am not somebody who lives my life, you know, as a big Zodiac person, but it was still fun to hear all of this stuff. So, the Zodiac GM, take it away, Katie. Let’s do it. We are so lucky to be joined by the Zodiac GM, NBA Twitter personality, and the co-host of the Hoop Astrology podcast. If you are on NBA Twitter, you absolutely know this account and we are so pumped to be joined by him. We are going to cover his appearance just to keep the illusion of him being an astrology wizard because I think that’s way more fun. So, let’s dive right into it. Number one, thank you for being here. Um, you fill a super niche space in sports. Can you tell me a little bit about what you do and how synergy analysis works? All right. So, um, overall what I do as far as for my, uh, the Twitter page I cover is for the zodiac GM. anything related to zodiac signs, energies in particular in sports. Uh so my my primary focus is in is in basketball. So so what I what I’ve done actually has been going on for about 8 years worth of research is analyze teams uh based on zodiac signs. And over the years I found a correlation to teams that were successful and teams that were quote unquote mediocre or unsuccessful. And that correlation sort of stemmed from from zodiac signs and how they connect. Um so um the past two years I sort of fulfilled all of this research into the Twitter page, you know, which is now X and um and so far so good. A lot of the predictions that that I’ I’ve made or analyzed have been somewhat fairly uh strong. Um and it’s reached to a point where a lot of people start looking into it a little bit more and you know even to the extent to hey what’s my sign or you know and try to better understand uh their signs and you know other people’s signs around them and how they connect. So that’s sort of what what I what I do on on my part. So, um, just a quick, you know, I just want to throw this out there. For example, in Chicago, uh, Michael Jordan, Scotty Pippen, Michael Jordan’s Aquarius, Scotty Pippen’s Libra, very compatible duo. Guess what? You know, so that that duo sort of was a strong foundation for for for the franchise for for the run that they had back in the the late 90s. So, you know, little details like that is is sort of what I look into as far as for an overall picture of sports. Yeah, let’s apply a little bit of that to the current Bulls and see if we have a good future or a bad future. Um, so biggest season of the Bulls off seasonason so far, still no contract for Josh Giddy. Um, everybody’s talking about it. We are talking about it on our show every day. So Josh is a Libra and our president of basketball operations, Art Turus Carnosovas, is a Taurus. What impression do you get from their signs, um, from how they’re working together in negotiations? And maybe is that kind of the holdup here? It could be potentially. Tourists are very uh uh they’re very patient first of all. They they they’re ones that likes to take their time and they want to analyze everything in detail to make sure they make the right decision, especially for long term. And consider this, they’re an earth sign, right? So, so whatever decision they make, it’s going to be good in the long term or, you know, they’ll they’re going to they’re either going to devote for it, they’re going to, you know, fulfill whatever whatever their u pick or choice is, right? So, a lot of tourists, they’re um they’re they have a strong ground. They’re very well, yes, they are stubborn. They’re known as as being stubborn, but that’s good as well because once they stick to a plan, they’ll stick in the long term until it gets right or until they get to a point where they feel it should be. So, meaning that, you know, um if it’s not working out in the beginning, they won’t give up as easily. You know what I’m saying? So, it’s it’s one of those type of type of energies that will keep persistence and, you know, that will be consistent in the long term. So with that in terms with with Josh Giddy being a Libra, it could play a factor, but each and every franchise is different in their own way and how how they construct their their their contracts with players and you know player development and and all this other stuff. But but in my opinion, I feel Josh Giddy is a crucial part of this uh current Chicago Bulls roster. His sign in particular, which is an energy sign, a leader sign. Libras are known to be uh it’s a cardinal energy, are known to be leaders. They’re they’re innovative leaders. They’re visionary leaders. So, his energy fits well with the current construction of this rocket uh this this Chicago Bulls roster. I’m sorry. So, that was going to be my next question. Speaking of Giddy, his fit alongside Kobe White, a lot of people are making, you know, a deal about that. Um, are they going to work together long term? So, Kobe is an Aquarius. The two of them specifically, good fit, bad fit. Excellent fit. So, so here’s the thing. So, a little backstory. So, when when Josh Giddy got traded to the Bulls, right? Um, the one thing I said to myself, okay, where’s the direction of of of the Bulls going at that time? They had Zack Lavine. Zach Lavine’s a Pisces, right? So, as far as for the match between Giddy and Lavine and considering their role of what their presumed role is to to the team, you know, they’re going to play some minutes. They’re not going to sit on the end of the bench or anything like that, right? So at that time when that trade was made, I was like, “Okay, there’s potential there because Kobe White is is their is their guard or point guard, right? If he plays along with Giddy, that’s a strong connection, but there might be some issue with Lavine still in the mix mix, right? So I wasn’t I wasn’t sure because at that time I felt like the Bulls were still very strong uh somewhat strong or had potential with their synergy to blossom because they had Lonzo Ball who’s a Scorpio. They had they still have uh Vousvik who’s also a Scorpio and they had a lot of signs that fit well with that core group. Um but now I feel like they’re transitioning to more of of a group that will benefit u Josh Giddy, Kobe White, and even Buzzelis. So um and even their rookie that they just drafted. Um, so I think the potential is very very strong for the Chicago Bulls at this point, especially, and this is a big deal that I like to look at, is whoever their head coach is. Their head coach, Billy Domin, he’s he’s a Gemini. Now, those those players I just mentioned as far as for their core group connects very very well to their head coach, and that’s a big deal, especially for for the the experience that they have. There’s I still consider them as a young team as far as sort of the the core go core goes, but I do know that Vusik is in the mix. He’s a veteran, but I uh yeah, there’s some rumors that he might be waved or, you know, or potentially be traded. So, um so potential is there. I still feel like that they lack experience, a little bit experience, but it’s it’s a growing developing type of type of a scenario. Well, it might not be this year. It could be within two to four years, right? unless they pick up an energy or a player who’s who’s more seasoned. Someone like a Giannis for for example, or even someone like D Rozan who was there several years ago, but his energy would fit well with this current roster that that the Chicago Bulls are in. So, you mentioned Isaac Aoro, and I am curious how he’s going to fit. He’s in another Aquarius. I know you mentioned Kobe is an Aquarius as well. Um, when you have two players that are the same sign on a team, is that typically like a a good thing, a bad thing? And then with the two of them specifically, what can we expect with Isaac Aoro coming into the bulls? It could be a good thing, but the reason why it mix it mixes well with this group is because of the supporting energies, right? Uh the Libra helps the Aquarius, right? Uh the Gemini who’s a leader. So if you look at his role, Gemini, speaking of Billy Donovan, he’s he’s he’s a coach, you know, he so the players have to follow his his direction, right? So um as long as you have supporting energies around you makes it very very strong right so this team is full of air signs if you think about there’s three the air signs or the Gemini Aquarius the Libra and then all those players I just mentioned are all air signs they all connect very very well this is a slight example um the Minnesota Vikings last year this is uh no no one really mentioned or even considered them to be a top team right so whenever Whenever I analyze that that Minnesota Vikings team in football, I noticed they had a lot of air signs from from their head coach to the receivers to their even quarterback um uh Sam Sam Darnold, right? They were all air signs. And I said to myself, keep an eye out for this team, right? Because the the key the role the keys that they uh the positions that they play is is crucial for the team, the quarterback, the receivers, you know, the head coach, and even stemming down to the offensive coordinator and so forth. And they end up being one of the top teams. I know it’s outside of basketball, but I see the potential with the Chicago Bulls team very very strong because of that group that they have. And I feel like if they can just add on to that a little bit more, even throw in a Demar de Rozan, someone like, you know, I mentioned earlier Giannis, uh, you know, energies of of of that some of that caliber. Yeah, this Chicago Bulls team could could be very very scary. The positivity, I like it. I’m Yeah, I’m feeling that. Um, so the other newcomer for the Bulls is their draft pick, Noah Asen. We’re really not sure how much time he’s going to spend in Chicago versus, you know, in the G-League. Um, so just like generally overall speaking, what can we expect from a Sagittarius in the NBA, correct? So Sagittarius, you got to you got to have give him some freedom, right? So, and I feel like when he got drafted to the Bulls, I I didn’t really know too much about Senate, but I looked at his energy and just a a brief understanding of what type of player he is, and I said to myself, “Wow, he’s a great fit.” And the reason why a Sagittarius connects well with the Libra, the ball handlers for for the Bulls, I mean, do might be Gideon White, right? So, they end up signing Giddy even better. And that’s works very well for Singi, right? So he connects very very well with that group even the Cororo and um and White Bellis as well. So I feel like uh if they can get a center in my opinion someone like Nick Claxton that is who’s an Aries would connect even stronger to to their building block so to speak. So, um, Asen would be a great fit, but consider his role. Uh, how are they going to utilize him? But in my opinion, if he if Billy Donovan starts putting him in the right situation, right? Uh, talking about with the group that I just mentioned, you’ll start seeing the chemistry. He’s saying, “Wow, he fits pretty pretty well.” Like, you know, and then for for Sang’s point of view, you look at it from a young player going into a team, right? You go into a locker room and a lot of people don’t even really consider this, but sometimes you you go somewhere new, you start feeling you start feeling either comfortable or not or lack of, you know, because that that vibe quote unquote, the energy, you just feel it naturally. It’s it’s it’s it’s hard to explain, right? But the way I see it, when a sing walks in a locker room, all these players uh that he’s going to start connecting with, I wouldn’t be surprised if if you see him and a Cororo hanging out or him and Giddy or White hanging out because the synergy is is it’s almost instant and that goes on, you know, to the court as well. So singing will be a great fit if he plays with that core group which which which I feel like he you know throughout the season you’ll probably start hearing his name more and more frequently and you know with his energy and the way his play style is fits fits very very well with this core group and connects well with the head coach which again is a big big deal because you have to follow the vision of the head coach and for a head coach you want players to follow you because if you have some sort of contrasting energies It’s sort of hard to relate to a player where you you you’re saying to a player, I want you to do this, but that player sort of like, h, I don’t really like his style. You see what I’m saying? So, it’s sort of it’s sort of that type of connection. So, I think would be a really really good fit with the Chicago Bulls team right now. Some good potential there. I like that. Yeah, because we’ve been talking a lot about um you know, his fit with Billy specifically. So, that’s good to hear. Uh, last question here between myself and my three hosts here on Cho Bulls. Uh, we have two Pisces, a Cancer, and a Virgo. How would you rate our synergy? Love it. It’s a A+. Um, so here’s the thing. Um, I love it. It works great because you have the networkers there, right? The networkers, uh, well, I call them the networkers is the Pisces, the Virgos, uh, also Gemini, Sagittarius. In this case, the networkers, it’s it’s it’s very important for a team or a group because these are the energies that are that are sort of like they they tend to go with the flow, but it’s a it’s a great thing to have because especially for for a business or corporation, whatever it is, you need energies that are willing to do things, right, and are not as stubborn, so to speak, you know, uh but they’re they’re more willing to go with the flow. And this the type of energies the Virgos, the Pisces have. Now the cancer energies are more like the the movers of the zodiac. They make things happen, right? They are a water sign. They they do have an emotional aspect to their energy. So they lead by an emotional sense. Uh whereas you know some some cardinal leaders like for example a Libra or an an Aries. They’re more of a you know direct straight to the point type of leader where you follow me and and you know that sort of stuff. But cancers lead more by in sort of a family based nurturing and emotional sense where um they provide a lot of caring but they but energies around them look up to to to to a cancer energy for example right the viros are the ones that make great hostesses they they they they’re very detail oriented um you know they’re very very hard workers um so the fit with the with the with the energies you just mentioned it’s a great fit um so I would give it an A+ that’s awesome to hear. Yeah, I’m definitely seeing like those traits of our our Cancer and our Virgo on our team as you’re talking about that. That’s awesome. I appreciate it. Well, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you for joining us and uh I am definitely looking forward to seeing how all of the synergy works out with the Bulls this season and uh I think I think you’re right. I think they’ve got some potential. We’ve got to knock out our first ad break right here. When we come back, we’ll talk a little bit about what we learned just now. And yes, of course, we will also talk modest bisellas. Hit the like. Here’s some ads. Sunnyside Cannabis Dispensary. It’s your place for judgment free cannabis shopping. Did you know that? Big Dave and the interviewer extraordinaire Katy Duffy who you just listened to have a chat with the Kodiak I’m sorry. Zodiac Zodiac. Zodiac. Remember Kodiak? Yes. Taking pictures of stuff. Shout out. Getting film developed. Shout out. Uh the Zodiac GM uh talking about astrology and synergy of astrology when constructing NBA rosters. Mhm. I’m I’m not going to lie. I’m I’m at a bit of a loss for words right now. Katie, what what do you feel you learned in that conversation? I really wish everybody could have seen Matt’s face during that because it was phenomenal. It was like a mix between anger and just the most confusion aka my homeostasis as a fam. True. Very, very true. That’s how it goes. Um yeah. No, I it was it was just interesting to hear a very unique perspective that’s obviously a very niche like part of sports and um something that we had definitely on this show have not thought about in the past. So yeah, that was uh that was interesting. Some of the things that we talked about after the interview that you know I just didn’t include because otherwise it would be a full hour. Um the Bulls starters have much better synergy than their bench. Okay, so that’s something to keep in mind. Um, he also mentioned that the Bulls and Lakers benches should just switch because they would fit way better in each other’s sit cities and and lineups. Yeah, but see, I I can’t remember what sign AK is, but whichever sign he is doesn’t like making trades that involve more than two players, so I don’t know if they can pull that one off. That’s fair. Um, and uh, yeah, Demard Rosen Back to the Bulls is a first for me. That’s I haven’t heard that one. I’m here for I we I feel like we already learned that his sign is not compatible to the Bulls winning basketball deep into you know the postseason. I think I think his age is not compatible but his sign Well, there are plenty of things but we’re talking about signs right now. We’re talking about roster synergy with the moon and stars. That’s right. Okay. That’s right. All of his stars. Demar clearly not compatible. Yeah. Yeah. I just I don’t see it of as far as just I guess because I’m just looking at it basketball-wise. I’m not saying that as a jump. I’m saying looking at it basketball. I’m like, but he’s not a guy that’s going to be in transition with these guys. Like just as a person and as human beings, I think Demar De Rozan fits in anywhere. Like he’s wonderful to talk to. We’ve all stated that. Sure. Many times. Like he’s amazing to talk to and a great person, you know what I mean? And was a great representative of the Bulls when he would go out on these podcasts and things like that. And I mean, look at the guys he took, you know, under under his wing there and the guys like Dalan and Kobe and uh uh Patrick Williams, you know, those young guys like that. So, yeah, as far as from that perspective, sure, he’s a great guy. From a basketball perspective, though, I’m going to need a little just a scooch. Just a scooch. Uh quick sidebar shout out to our guy Kevin who threw us a super chat for 1999. Oh, shirtless wonder. Gorgeous as always. I’m sure listening. Um Dave, what did you make of the fact that we just learned that Michael and Scotty having compatible uh astrology signs was a big component to the Bulls winning six championships in eight years. I I had never heard that before. That’s something I I learned for the first time today. That’s true. I just learned that. Mind-blowing information from the very first time. They didn’t include that in the last dance. Like what the heck? That’s true. Talk about a gross omission of the important facts going on around here. It was not included. It was not in there. I don’t know. I don’t know why. I mean, you know, Michael Jordan, personally, I would think Mike would fit in, you know, with anyone. Is MJ not just all the signs? Yeah. Like, screw in your birth month end date is MJ is just all of the signs. That is Michael Jefferson. MJ is every sign. He’s every sign imaginable and possible uh that they have out there. It’s I thought he would fit in with anything. Ergo, Horus Grant and Dennis Robin like you fit with a Michael Jordan. Didn’t really matter your personality in my opinion. Didn’t matter your personality or how you rode. Did you want to win? I think was the most consistent key thing. But maybe a guy like Phil Jackson, you know what I’m saying? Understood that, you know, a little bit better than than we understand it right here. So yeah, however it worked, it brought six championships. If he feels that was a big part of it, cool. Like, but I, you know, it was just fun to watch Mike and Scotty. I think the biggest takeaway from that is that we all have great synergy. I was gonna ask you what you thought about that answer. You asked him about if he had said anything other than an A+, I would have been upset and I would have thought that everything was a sham because I’m the goat’s obviously not here cuz he’s on vacation. How dare he? But you know, the four of us have great synergy. Sure. Sure. So, anything other than an A+ I would have known that it was all BS. But he said the right answer and that means it’s all real. I’m honestly kind of curious now to ask him what Joey signed. What do he think that was? Do he think? And and and just to hear if he would say, “Hey, A+.” You know, do you know when Joey’s birthday is? I do. Matt Matt’s the birthday guy. I want to say late June. Late June. I don’t know where that falls in the science. Yeah. I don’t off the top of my head, I don’t know. I want to late June is in Cancer. Like late June and into July. And then like late July is Leo. I know that. Um Well, you’re you’re I’m cancer. You’re cancer, right? You’re smack dab middle of July. Yeah. Uh, and so goat is the who now, Katie? Goat is the Virgo. Goat is the Virgo. And then you and I are Pisces. Shout out. Nas is a Virgo. Shout out. Ludicrous. Also only know that because they did a song called that. Sure. It was amazing song. Is it Are they playing it a lot? The kids don’t know who Nazi is, man. They barely know Ludicrous raps. They know him from movies. They understand that. It’s sad. Yeah, it’s true. I I still think of Luda as a rapper/musical artist. They don’t know actor. I mean, not to say he can’t act cuz I think he actually can. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But no, they don’t know him for that, bro. That’s like they don’t know Ice Cube wrapped. You know what I mean? Or they don’t know Lok J or Queen Latifah or The kids don’t know. They just don’t know. He says Joey would be a Gemini. Gemini. Okay. That uh the Zodiac GM said that they’re really good leaders. So Joey probably would have had really good synergy with you guys, too. Okay. Joey Gemini. That does that. That checks out. Joey definitely, despite his youth, was a good leader around here. Yes, absolutely. Joey Gemini, what what is What about the part where there’s like two of the same sign? Like, can some of them clash? Like, he was like, “Oh, we got two Pisces in a group of four.” Like, that’s that’s great, but like I also whether it was talking about us or the Bulls roster, I never heard him, regardless of what question you asked him, say like, “Oo, yeah, no, those those are bad signs. They don’t they don’t mix well together.” It’s like, “Oh, those two signs, great. Those two signs, great.” Well, so one of the things that I asked him was about Kobe and Isaac Aoro both being Aquariuses. Aquarius, I don’t know what the plural is. Um, but he said that it really depends on the supporting signs. So for Kobe and Isaac, they have a Libra around them, they have a Gemini around. So like that’s all good. I think for you and me both being Pisces, we have good supporting signs around us as well. Um, but yeah, when you have two of the same sign, it depends on who the supporting signs are per the zodiac GM. You’re gonna need the good support. Sure. Yeah. A team and stuff. It’s also important that we know this stuff going on with AK sign. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The the the thing about it there, they’re very patient, you know, they’re very m plotting material stubborn. Stubborn. I was like, “Oh, okay.” Yeah. Some of this checks out. He’s got it. He’s like, “I got it there. I got it.” Uh, shout out to Katie for tracking down that interview. Fascinating. Fascinating stuff. I I I hope we all learned something today. And also based on the activity in the chat, there are more people who believe in this than I thought. Yeah. Oh yeah. It’s it’s a thing, bro. Like it is a thing. There’s a reason that horoscopes were in newspapers every morning. Everyone read back when newspapers were. Even if you don’t believe in it, it’s August 1st and we’re doing five shows a week. August, baby. Shout out dog days. Up next, Dave. You know what it’s time for? Please tell me. Cards from the vault. No, they said we’re not going to find him. I’m sorry. Lower. Bulls legend Chris Darte. And this when he was with this was a this is a Pacers Darte card. So that’s when he was solid. Yeah. And then he went to Sacramento and was not. Wow. I I love the design of the card. It’s got some of that, you know, that shimmery sheen that a lot of the cards have these days. Yeah. Um I mean, you got to have a role player in your collection, I guess. So, he’s he’s my sixth man right now. collection that I got in my Arena Club showroom. Like, yeah, somebody got to give Caitlyn a break. Shout out Shout out to Arpel Hayes. I saw from his Bull Central Pod Twitter account the other day. He’s like, “I’m so ready to not have any Darte or THT truthers like coming at me on Twitter like every day this season.” And I was like, “Oh my god, remember that?” Like there were some there were some post games early on where Darte getting more minutes from people in the chat. And I was like, because he’s Chris Darte. Listen man, if they are on the Bulls bench, they are not getting minutes and not getting time there are fans. Someone will be upset about it. It is never fail. It is never failed. If you’re wearing that jersey, why is he out there? Shout out Chris Darte. Your car is going to live in my Arena Club showroom for a while. Uh check them out. Why did I think it was Wednesday? You know what I got to tell you? Okay, that interview threw me my brain for a freaking loop. I’m still trying to come back to reality here. Oh, that was fun. Uh, all right. So, next thing, uh, and most important thing we wanted to talk about today, Modus Buzzales coming in at number four in a ranking that Jeremy Woo just put out yesterday for ESPN. The headline, who makes the leap? The top 10 sophomores to watch for the 2526 NBA season. A lot of fascinating names on this list. Uh if Katie you want to put up the whole list right now, we can take a look at it. So Nicole Topic, which again, fresh reminder that the reigning champion uh Thunder have essentially a red shirt rookie who they did not see any of dealing with his injury last season joining their crew. Jared McCain, you know, uh incredible rookie year. Jaylen Wells, incredible stuff for the Memphis Grizzlies. Kell Wear for the Heat. Alex Sar and Donovan Klingan. And then we get to our sweet boy Modis right there at number four. The top three being Reza Shay Castle and Reed Shepard. Uh Dave, just uh initial reaction uh and response to Modis coming in at number four on this list of sophomores to watch. I think it’s pretty cool for him uh to be mentioned in the top five for sure. Uh including above some guys who went above him. Absolutely. That’s exactly what I was about to say. Like Reese Shay is in Atlanta, I believe. Um, and Sar is in Washington. Washington. So, that’s great. Uh, also it’s great to see basketball Julia number one. Hey, that’s my guy. You know, I’ve been a huge fan of Reed Shepard ever since he uh got drafted. But yeah, man. It’s great for him and again puts more expectations on somebody who wants more expectations on his game. So, he’s one that doesn’t shy away from it. He one that he’s one that embraces it. He wants these challenges. He wants uh people to doubt him to you know be like I don’t know you know if he’s going to be able to you know come out of this or you know be good at that but to be on the national media landscapes mind and having you in the top five of that is a great thing you know not just for Modis but also for the Bulls it does you know what the organization wants puts more eyes on your product right there but also Modis was like whatever fuel he can get that is going to inspire him and make him feel like he can take that next level and that next leap, he is going to take it. And for me, this is just fuel for him to say, “Hey man, I’m number four. Why ain’t I number one?” Or, “Hey man, they got me all people are watching me now. Okay, I’m on it.” So, it just excites me honestly when I when I see this uh knowing how he thinks and how he operates, it it excites me for him. Uh Dread’s asking in the chat, “Reed uh Shepard barely played. How come he’s higher than uh than Modest?” And I’m sorry, I will not use or recognize that nickname. It’s a fresh season. We’re moving on. We got to tell Stacy to find a new one. Um, but so Jeremy Woo noted that this is not an evaluation of who are the best or most valuable rising sophomore is simply the players he is most curious about heading into training camp. And I think there’s a a widespread anticipation that Reed Shepard’s role is going to grow substantially for the Rockets this upcoming season. um you know the dealing away Jaylen Green trying to tweak some of those other pieces around. I think everybody’s anticipating a bigger role for Shepard. That’s probably why he has him as his most anticip uh you know most um interesting player to watch especially because he is on a team that is a fascinating story itself. Right. You add Kevin Durant to a young upstar team that managed to get to the number two seed in a very stacked Western Conference last year and this young player increasing his role. How good will he be? How ready will he be for a team that’s trying to make a significant move from being pretender to actual contender. So like I I think Reed being at the number one of this list is valid for those reasons. But going back to Modis, I I think it’s completely legit for him to be in the top five of this list. not just the top 10. Uh, and this is what Jeremy Woo had to say about Modis. Uh, first recapping his rookie year with the highlights. Uh, Buzzel broke through mid-season for the Bulls and looked like a strong value pick at 11, starting their final 31 games of the year and averaging 13 points on 47% shooting in those games. That stretch earned him a spot on all rookie second team and has him positioned as a crucial piece of Chicago’s future. Why is he ranked at number four? Jeremy Woo writes, “Busellois was once viewed as a contender for the number one pick in the 2024 draft class, pointing to his significant potential as a tall, skilled perimeter scorer. As he continues to add strength and hone his shooting, Modis has a huge runway both from a development and role perspective with the Bulls perennially in play in limbo.” Ouch. Why you got to do that, Jeremy Woo? Their best path forward likely involves a prospective Bousellis star turn. While that may not happen in one summer, the Bull’s commitment to playing uptempo should favor Bzelis. He should see more of the ball in his hands, operating in space, and get a chance to expand his shot creating skills both for himself and his teammates. Chicago remains in contract standoff with Josh Giddy. But the presumptive return of his playmaking to the lineup should further help get comfortable. still only 20 years old. What type of sophomore leap can he he can manage is arguably the most important big picture storyline for the Bulls going into this season. And Jeremy Woo, I agree very much so with the last thing you just said. What type of sophomore year does Mis have? Arguably the most important big picture story line. I would say you could take out the word arguably. Yeah, it is the most important big picture story line. So that begs the question, Dave, obviously we know a lot of it is on Modis himself and you were just talking a second ago about his drive, his determination to become not only a better player from rookie year to year two, but one of the best players in the league. Yes. other factors, some in his control, some perhaps out of his control, whether it be teammates, team chemistry, the stars, um are going to impact what he looks like as a secondyear player in this league. What do you think is at the top of that list of if we’re talking about factors that could determine a breakout year or not for Modis Buselis in year two? at the top of the list of things he should like of of like factors that will perhaps determine in addition to his own you know his his own work and his own performance like other factors at play Bull’s roster construction rotation like what you know those kinds of factors affecting Modis having a breakout year or not. Oh man that’s a great question. Uh I mean obviously you said you listed uh several of them right there. uh one-on-one play. When when will he get an opportunity for that? Uh when will they say, “Okay, Modis, it’s your play. Here it is drawn up for you. Here’s the ball. Go do something with it.” He wasn’t obviously and rightfully so was not at that level last year. He’s a rookie. So, but he would create his own when he would see the flow of it was like, “Oh, I can’t pass it here. Can’t pass it here. All right, I got it. Let’s see what I’m going to do.” Aaron Gordon, you go down. I’mma dunk. Oh, Luca. Oh, you go down, too. Here goes another dunk for you. So, that’s gonna be the curious case. When does he say, “Nope, it’s mine.” You know, so a lot of that is on you and a lot of that is on the coach because you got to draw up that play for him, but also you have to have that confidence to do it. So, that second part we know he’s got he’s got the confidence to do it. So, that first part is just going to be on Billy Donovan. Uh how many plays is he gonna draw up for him? Is he going to say, “Hey, you get four or five plays a game and increase it.” You know what I’m saying? As it goes along, depending on how well he does, is he bringing him along slow? Is he going to throw him straight into that fire? Because he’s going to be your starter now with all this stuff on him. He’s the starter at that position. He’s the guy that might be the main guy even coming off of certain rotations. If you’re looking at a rotation coming off the bench, if you’re looking at a defensive rotation, whatever rotation you want to be, he can be the man in one of those for sure. So, is he going to be the guy being the primary ball handler in some of those cases in that fourth quarter? Josh Giddy isn’t a guy who always brings up the ball up the floor. He is definitely somebody that plays off ball uh in that fourth quarter. So, Kobe having that uh option. Well, Mis be an option because you’re going to need more than one shot creator for sure if you want to win in this league like that. So that’s something I will definitely be looking at man because that is the things that will take his points from 18 to 26 27. Yeah. And then you know the on ball creation that you were talking about that Jeremy Woo was talking about in his write up. Uh Connor in the chat just saying ball handling ball handling and more ball handling. Meanwhile Kev saying so here for Modest coverage we can’t sleep on him. Uh no one no one is sleeping on Modus. Never. I mean like I sleep I sleep and dream about Modus. I don’t know if that counts. Um, but I think like your point about okay Billy saying modest this next possession this is all you as part of the coaching and what the Bulls are going to do offensively. Woo was talking about the Bulls uptempo style of play and that perhaps benefiting Modis. Josh Giddy’s ass, you know, assumed uh presence for another year with Modis and what that can do for for Modis. I think like that’s what I’m very curious about as a Bulls fan, assuming the Bulls continue to play this uptempo style we saw last season. Um, with with Kobe and Giddy leading it from those backcourt positions, there’s like something that I like when and how will Modis get those opportunities in the half court when the Bulls are in a half court situation. they, you know, for whatever reason, it’s it’s not a transition possession. There is a bit more structure. And how does Modis get that ball in his hands and then what does he do with it? Because, you know, whether you’re talking about DHO’s or pin down screens or flare screens, finding ways for Mis to go from being an offball threat to then getting open and finding a way for Josh or Kobe to get him the ball and then Giddy putting the ball on the floor. Yeah. uh and attacking, which is what we saw him do in a couple of summer league games. We saw him do sporadically throughout that stretch of games where where his minutes and his role really increased down the stretch of his rookie year. But like that’s what I will be looking for, how Billy and his guards will be coming up with hopefully new and creative ways to get the ball in Modis’s hands and then say, “Modis, go cook.” See, what I like about what we’re saying is this is stuff you ask players when you’re trying to make them the best on the team or the second best on your team. Yeah. Like, you know, have the ball more, find him more, can you get the ball to yourself? Can you create space for yourself? That’s what you’re asking people who are, you know, I mean, that guy on their team. So, that’s exciting to me that we both recognizing like, no, bro, he’s got this, he surpassed this, I need to be on the floor thing. Like, that’s gone. He surpassed certain like shooting and rebounding and size and stuff. We saw him at summer league. He’s definitely bigger. Now it’s about, hey man, do you let’s see you be the man because this is what he talked about. This is what he wanted. This is what he asked for. This is what he’s going to get. So yeah, it excites me for him, man. Because these are questions for the man on your squad right there. Can you be that guy? Fourth quarter, 3 seconds left. You know what I mean? Kobe’s fouled out or something. You know what I mean? We need a shot, Mis. Can you go get us a bucket? Mhm. That’s that stuff I’m looking at. I like this. And and look, you know, Josh Giddy, I think, as a a setup man, a playmaker, uh a shot creator for his teammates is very quick. His eyes are, you know, all over the place. And Modis already took advantage of that unique skill set of Giddys with some great offball cuts as a rookie. And you hope and assume that we’ll continue to see more and more of that. But the other thing, and again, it’s like you cannot run every possession. Every possession cannot be a transition possession. Yeah. Can Can I get Can I see some pick and roll with Modis? That’d be fun. Like, please, can we can we see a bit more of that next season? Uh, we got to knock out our last couple of ads. We’ll come back and pick up the conversation right there cuz I want to talk a bit more about that and what else we want to see from Modis in year two. Hit the like if you believe in Modis Buzzel. Uh all right, so we’re talking about this Jeremy Woo ranking modest number four of most exciting sophomore players to watch this upcoming season. Uh and we’re talking about, you know, his his offensive game and what we can see from him that’s different and new and better for his rookie year. And I said right before the break, you know, like how about some more pick and roll? And I know that that is, you know, I’m I’m not asking to get, you know, dragged back to Demar ISO possessions where he calls for a screen and either rejects it or uses it and then dribbles for 20 seconds and then, you know, throws up a jumper. I’m not talking about that. I’m just talking about Modis already showing signs of being a big who can be effective as a pick and roll man, right? As a pick and pop man, you know, slipping screen, setting screen. How about how about inverse pick and roll? Yeah. And like Okay, cool. Like Modus has the ball at the top of the key. One of my guards come set a screen for me and then we’ll see what happens from there. like just like I want Billy to put in a few additional actual like halfcore X’s and O’s things that focus on getting Modis more involved because if it’s just left up to Josh Giddy creativity uptempo offense and fairy dust I might get frustrated if that results in Modis not getting the number of touches that me big- time modest believer here wants Modus to get. It’s not a might. You will definitely be frustrated uh at that. Yeah. And And rightfully so though, like because even as you’re mentioning, will it be the Josh Giddy kind of offense and things like that? Again, he runs that sometimes. He’s not that all the time. Yeah. So, a lot of times he doesn’t have the ball in his hands. He’ll go stand over in the corner or he’ll be watching the ball trying to use his superpower, which is rebounding, trying to get the ball, trying to get tips and get it back to guys. So, when Kobe is not on the floor, who else going to create their own shot? It’s going to be modest. So, in that instance, yes, that’s when you draw up these plays. That’s when you have those guards setting those screens. Like I would love to see a pick and roll uh with him if Buch is still here. I would love to see that between him and Modis. I mean Modis’ size open ups just a ton of possibilities about what you can do within any kind of offense and who you going to run those plays with. You got another big guard and Giddy. Well, that’s another pick and roll option you can run right there. Like it’s so many different options. There’s a pick and slip you can run. There’s the pick and uh pick and pop you can run. Like there’s so many things you can run. like him and Jaylen Smith can run this dude. Like he is a problem. And when they recognize that he’s a problem, that’s when you’ll start seeing more of that stuff put in. But we want them to recognize it as soon before you get to the season and say, “Hey guys, I think we got to draw up some plays for him.” No, this needs to be going on like as soon as you get everything and all your ducks in a row. Yeah. And before you get to that training camp, you’re going to need to know who is going to be that guy on your team. And personally, as speak for Matt right here, we think it’s going to be modest, bro. And and that’s, you know, something that’ll be very fascinating to start hearing about in training camp practices and what those look like. Like, okay, it’s, you know, AK said it himself. We feel like we’ve established our offensive identity. They were still, you know, somewhere between mid and bottom tier offensive efficiency last season. I believe they were 20th or 21st in offensive rating with this dramatic change from being a slow halfcourt team to this, you know, second fastest paced team in the NBA. So maybe in year two of this new system, you can fine-tune some things. You can maybe cut down your turnovers a little bit. And then also it’s like who in those training camp practices is proving that if the ball finds its way to me, it’s it’s it’s more so than not ending in a bucket. And can Modis be that guy or one of those guys? Because you’re talking about a guy who’s going from promising tail end of rookie year when he had to fight for minutes and fight and prove to his coach that he was worthy of those minutes in that role into coming into you year two with big expectations. Correct. Big expectations. Colossal. Some of which he’s setting for himself with his own confident speak. Right. And some of which is just desperate hopeless Bulls fans being like, “Oh, for the love of God, Modis, please be great. Please save us on a Saturday night.” In that in those scenarios where it’s Bulls versus Bulls, training camp scrimmages, five on five, everybody has something to prove on this team. True. Say for maybe Vu who’s like, “All right, do I got to earn a trade out out of here again?” Even though I already did last, but like like where like in the in the tier of yo, this dude is balling. Yeah. Where is Modis in that tier in training camp? Yes. That great point, man, and a great question. And again, this is why I want them to come in with the mindset of what they saw last year, of what they saw him do, and not come in with the mindset of, well, we’ll see, you know. No, no, no. Like, you know what you saw. You know how good he was. Let’s have some stuff for him. Let’s let let’s cater some things to him because whether you like it or not, this guy is like solidly your future. You can’t say that for several Bulls players on this team simply because of the contract. But you know, for at least the next two years, you got some Modis Misellis and some Josh Giddy because Giddy is going to sign that. He’s know he’s going to be here for that. But that’s what it’s going to be for the Chicago Bulls team. And so if that’s the case, man, if it’s about time, which is the biggest thing, you have to have this stuff drawn up for him, man. Like he is the one. How much how many more commercials and shows you got to see this man on before you recognize that I’m not saying they don’t. I’m just saying when you come into that off seasonason, man, and just on the point you were making, when you just come into this off season, Matt, and you come into that training camp, that stuff needs to be established cuz if you all don’t have it established, I guarantee you the rest of the league will cuz I guarantee you his name will be on that whiteboard for sure. Like, we got to stop this tall guy with this talent right here. He’s really good. I hope the Bulls recognize it very, very soon. Katie. Yeah, I this is something we can dive into when we inevitably have like a rotations conversation, but I’m curious how the possibility of Vu not being on this team anymore will impact Modis because I think the one really good thing about Vu is that he’s not one of the players that just clogs up the lane, right? Like that’s never Vu’s play style and right I think one of my favorite things about Modis is his ability to drive and he’s always going for that highlight dunk. Like that’s just, you know, a skill set that he has. So I’m curious if he is put next to a center who is clocking up the lane, who is always in the paint, who is, you know, kind of filling that role, how modest his game is going to have to shift. So maybe that’s something we explore with, you know, the possibility of not being on the team. For me, Matt, that what she’s saying will immediately let me know what I’m what my fear is right there is that you don’t recognize what you got. Because if you bring in a center that can’t fit around Madison, what he does and he has to fit to it, you’re doing it wrong. You don’t get so wrong. Unless unless you’re drafting and bringing in like Hakee Jr. Oh, come on in. Yeah, but come on through. I think Katie, that’s a fascinating question. The pieces the Bulls have right now, assuming that the roster today is the roster that will enter training camp. Vouch is your starting five. You can play five out with Vu. He is a floor spacing big coming off a great shooting season. Yeah. Jaylen Smith, it’s why they signed him. Yeah. because he’s a five out big man. He can space the floor. He can play the five. He can play the four. He can roll, pick and pop. Zack Collins not like especially known for his abilities as a floor spacer, but we saw him knock down threes in his short time with the Bulls after that trade last season. So like all of the possibilities of who’s playing the five next to Modis right now I’m not concerned about cuz they all theoretically are floor spacers who won’t necessarily be clogging up the lane. Absolutely right. Um, and the other thing about Vu is willing passer. Yeah. Oh, V from wherever he is on the floor. Vu is like a smart and willing passer. Yeah, Vu’s IQ was awesome. All right. And there were many point many, many games he was the highest IQ player on the floor for the Chicago Bulls. I said that many times during that post game. So, no, I’m not worried about him. Uh, Jaylen Spence game lends it to a guy like Modis. Again, pick and roll, pick and pop. That’s it. That’s all Jaylen’s got for you. And Zack Collins, you know, he’ll do whatever. He’s a mini many many mini many many mini many many mini many many mini many many mini many many mini many many mini many many vouch you know what I’m saying like many is kind of vouch like he can do those things just not to that level that vouch can but he knows how to get in there you know and be a little tough be a little dirty get those rebounds get those offensive rebounds which I think is just going to be the key point but the great thing that they all know is when and I know they’ll know is to get the hell out the way when Modis has the basketball because Modis draws fouls manis draws fouls he is figuring that out ladies and gentlemen him drawing throwing those fouls and slowing the game down would not only be great for the Bulls, but be great for his points per game as well. I expect y’all to see that points per game go up because of how many times I expect him to get to that free throw line. Uh yeah, free throws uh for Modis, I mean he uh he shot not quite 80% uh at the line before the All-Star break. He bumped that up to 83.3% after the All-Star break. I mean, he he took 54 free throws in 53 games before the All-Star break. He then took 54 free throws in 27 games after the All-Star break. So, you already saw with Modis’s role increasing more trips at the line. Yeah. Like, he essentially almost doubled his free throw attempt rate in that pre-allar, postallar split. Yeah. And then boy at summer league that dude was getting to the line. Bug the first game. Look, summer league is a giant fouls fest. They gave all those dudes 10 fouls and you’re still like is that guy about to foul out? Like my he was VIP to that festival. So absolutely something else that Bulls fans are hoping for with Modis is like and growing that offensive game, becoming a 20 point per game scorer potentially is getting to the line. I do I do want to say um about the other guys that that were on the list. Yeah. Uh, Khil Wear. Uh, I love the fact that he was on this list because I know you were really, really high. Always been a big Khil belie. And my, as I said many time, my main drawback was sometimes, you know, he could be a little lacadasical and not try super hard enough and, you know, just get a little lost in that. But the second he went to Miami, I told you all that went away from me. Exactly. I was like, “Oh, no, he’ll be fine.” Yeah. If you’re in Miami, you’re not allowed to not have a motor. And to add to that point, when you if you go read that that wonderful uh written article by my man Woo, he talked about that in here and he said this happened in the summer league. I didn’t even know this, but this was Eric Spra talking about him after the summer league. He says he has to really embrace and improve his professionalism, his consistency, and his approach every single day. He told him that after he didn’t like his showing in the summer league, and right after that, he turned into his best performances in summer league. right after that kind of quote. That’s when I wasn’t worried about him for stuff like that because that’s going to happen. But it’s about that coach and that organization you’re with to make sure you got it together. So that’s showing you this is summer league and he’s like, “Dude, handle your business. Get it together.” And he was about that business. So summer league, shout out to him. Means something. Shout out to him for real. Ask Denzel Valentine. Yeah. U fascinating list. like really hoping that Modis can you know prove that he earns to be on or has earned and deserves to be on these kinds of list. Somebody saw I think on Twitter asked there was quote tweeting when Chuck was talking about how high he is uh on Modis. I mean maybe KLA hoops somebody said like I’m worried that this is setting Modis up for failure. Yeah, I as a Bulls fan am choosing not to worry about that. Yeah, seriously. cuz I you know based on what we’ve heard from what we’ve seen from strong head on that young man should holders and if you’re a Bulls fan why prevent yourself from that hope if that’s the one hope you have what if you have been enjoying the past several years like this is all you got cuz you sc No bro scared money makes none like we get out here we going to do exactly unless you think no offense that Kobe and Josh are about to lead this team to the promised land if there is a younger proof yet is if there’s a younger brighter hope behind them set those expectations. Set them up there. Set those expectations. That’s what he wants them, baby. High. Exactly. Real quick, uh, since we were doing something niche at the beginning, let me talk about my niche thing that I’m going to be doing on Sunday. WWE SummerSlam watch along. It’s happening on Sunday. Everyone touches the ball, Multiple p&r high low, drive and kick with a cutter, dribble hand-offs ,and don't forget the triangle.
I tuned out when you started talking about Aquarius and " air signs" . Wtf lol stick to the facts
I would love to have demar back on this current team, demar was a dog and could get to the rack at will … Just saying
Matas Buzelis has all of the fundamental skills to be an All Star. Will he perform them when he's the #1 player on opposing team's scouting report?
Even though I believe in astrology I don’t know why they thought it was a good idea to relate that to how the Bulls are going to play together on the court. And with all that damn synergy the Bulls are supposed to have according to this dude, the Bulls are still a playin team at best.
Is wondering…. What if the Bulls made a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for Jalen Johnson? What if the Bulls made a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans by sending Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry for Trey Murphy and Brandon Boston?
Wtf was this trash? 😂
