This Could End Badly for Giannis

The Bucks have done everything they can to keep Giannis happy, but it just ain’t working. Traded picks, reshaped the roster to completely sell out their future, but now the moves are starting to backfire. The team is stuck and Giannis keeps sending mixed signals. One day he wants to win, next day he wants to stay. It’s so bad people don’t care anymore. Just make a decision, dude. Like, can you believe that Shawn’s has a report about Giannis potentially leaving the Bucks again? And people’s reactions like, “Yeah, Giannis leaving Milwaukee is the new Ben Simmons in the gym.” So, an MVP champion might demand a trade and people are like, “Who cares?” Why? Because Giannis cannot make up his mind. But at some point, he’ll have to. And if he waits too long, he might run out of options entirely because the teams that can go allin for Giannis are not going to wait forever. Like, if dude wanted to be a Rocket, for example, not anymore. They moved on, buddy. Hey, but the longer Giannis hesitates, the more this all starts to look like a career-killing mistake that we have all seen before. But to understand why this moment is so dangerous for Giannis, you have to look at the Bucks right now. Not who they used to be, but who they have become. Because right now, their third best player is Kyle Friaking Kosma. Their starting point guard might be Cole Anthony. Who exactly? I mean, Koozma has been terrible for years. And yes, they signed Miles Turner, but we have seen Giannis surrounded by a thin roster before. The man has been a top two player for like 7 years, recently accomplished nothing. So, the team is nowhere near a championship contender, even after the Miles Turner move. But you know what people don’t talk about? when they talk about why the team is so bad. Well, a mixtape account just put out this clip of Chris Middleton tough shotmaking in the 2021 playoffs. you notice anything about how every clip is a breathtaking dagger and the video is 4 and a half minutes long. Shot after shot of the most underrated co-star in the NBA. Dude was their go-to score in the clutch. People forget Middleton scored 40 points in a must-win finals game, hitting dagger after dagger. Chris was the one guy that Giannis fully trusted to close games. But in game two of the 2022 first round, he spun left on a drive in the fourth quarter, planted his leg, and tweaked his knee. Never the same again. That moment might have ended this version of the Bucks. So the next year they traded for Damen Lillard, but now the Bucks control zero picks until the 2030s. So if Giannis says that he wants the Bucks to win, how they’ve already pushed all their chips in year after year to make him happy. And by the way, it worked in 2021, winning a championship. But every move after that has just gotten worse and worse to the point where if they make another move now, it’ll do absolutely nothing. So if this guy really wants to win, what is he waiting for? You obviously demand a trade. But this is the exact mistake that we have seen before. Giannis has actually seen this kill a career right in his face. But before we talk about that, what is the alternative, right? Well, some stars just rip the band-aid off early, and history shows it’s the right way to win. Kevin Durant thought that OKC was a dead end with Russell Westbrook and Billy Donovan as coach. So, he left in 2016 to win two titles in Golden State. Same goes for Anthony Davis, who demanded out of New Orleans, wins the title in 2020. Even Kawhi Leonard won a chip his first year out of San Antonio. But what else do all those guys have in common? They all became hated after the move. KD a denkoise straight villains in their old hometowns. And that is what Giannis is afraid of. He doesn’t want to be the bad guy. And I totally get it. Giannis is a loyal dude, especially from how he grew up. But the fact is that you cannot have it all. You either want to win so bad that you’ll do anything or you remain loyal but give up potential rings in the future. Like, can you believe that Giannis says, “Hey, if there’s a better situation for me to win the Larry O’Brien outside of Milwaukee, I have to take that situation.” But the exact same person says, “I don’t think I could ever text and ask for a trade. I’m not that kind of guy. They would have to kick me out.” What? Make up your mind. So, it feels like he wants both. He wants to back the Bucks into a corner to where they’re the ones who demand the trade. That way, he can be like, “Oh, I, you know, I left the team, but I didn’t want to. I am loyal. It was the team who wanted me out. No. Why would they do that? Yes, trading Giannis would get them a ton of assets to rebuild. And we just went over how they’re kind of in a dead end, but rebuilding ain’t what it used to be. Just look at the Jazz, the Wizards, and the Nets. All rebuilding from assets that they got from star trades. And they all suck. Utah especially. Okay, they dealt two massive starts, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Goar and they aren’t close to competing for a championship. Why would the Bucks want to be that? So, no, Giannis, you’re going to have to be the bad guy. But we have seen this exact story play out before. A superstar who tried to balance loyalty and legacy, who waited too long and by the time he finally asked out, his window already closed. Damen Lillard deserved a championship, right? Oh, the Blazers are just such a bad team. The front office sucks at building around him. Okay, yeah, we all agree. So, leave. But no, he wanted to be Mr. Loyalty. And then one day, he just started leaking little passive aggressive things like on IG. Remember, how long should I stay dedicated quoting Nipy Hustle? It’s like, dude, shut up. Okay, just demand a trade or don’t. Reminds you of Giannis, right? But by the time that Dame did leave, it was too late. Okay, if he had left, by the way, 2 years earlier, teams like the Sixers, Celtics, Heat, Raptors, and Nets all had more picks and flexibility and were actively shopping for stars. But by 2023, many of those had either committed to a different core or they lacked the assets that Portland wanted. So, in 2023, Dame does demand a trade. at 33 years old with 4 years, 216 million left on his contract. How many teams really wanted to break the bank for him at that point. So the longer he waited, the more the Blazers prioritize return over his preference. So Dave didn’t even control where he went. Just imagine if Lillard had asked out in his prime. Now he waited. He doesn’t have loyalty or rings. So when he finally asked out, he had waited too long and the league had moved on. The best fits were no longer available. That’s what we’re already seeing with Giannis. A team like the Rockets, has a young core, obviously ton of assets, but moved on to get Kevin Durant. Now, I guess it’s possible that Giannis has a plan. Maybe there is some team next year that he wants to end up with. The Warriors, for example, still have a ton of picks. Brandon Pazimski to trade next year. And maybe it’s looking like Jonathan Kaminga, too. Or the Raptors. They would keep him in the East. and they’re a deep roster, but no top tier talent until he arrives. Shout out to the Knicks as well, who have a deep team and picks. So, Giannis doesn’t have to leave today, but if he is serious about winning, he needs to act like it because this constant flip-flopping has beaten down everybody. Shawn’s reports that Giannis might still demand a trade and no one cares because Giannis is trying to please everyone, which is exactly how you end up with nothing. So, the Bucks are all out of moves. Now, it’s Giannis’ turn to actually make one. But another discussion every single offseason outside of Giannis has been NBA expansion. We’ve talked about it for years. 2025 was supposed to be the big one. But then all of a sudden, the NBA has killed expansion. No more new teams. But why did they go from like guaranteed expansion to not going to happen practically overnight?

  1. Giannis is turning into the new Dame — loyal to a fault and blind to reality. At this point, he's not chasing rings… he's chasing approval. The league’s moved on, and he doesn’t even realize it. If he waits any longer, his legacy will be regret, not greatness.

  2. Incomparable to Dame imo. Giannis has proven himself to be good enough to win it all as the best player in his team. From his perspective, he only needs some pieces around him rather than jumping ship. That’s why he’s pushing for MIL to do something more, unfortunately they’re maxed out already

Dame had deep runs with POR but never really close to winning it all with him as the best player.

  3. @A.M. Hoops don't disrespect Cole Anthony he's a very good 6th man and if he had more playing time out of UNC in Orlando he would've been a fringe all-star combo guard.

  4. I once saw Giannis signing autographs in the park for underprivileged children. Afterwards, he drank a whole case of beer and ate 3 foot long hotdogs in a single sitting, before hopping onto his E-bike and crashing into the same light pole several times, and then eventually just called to have someone pick him up.

    And that's how I got Giannis' E-bike!

  5. SPOT ON!!!!! I hope Giannis is watching this channel for him to understand the whole point. You just can't please everybody.

  6. The moves are "starting" to backfire??? Lol. The Lillard trade backfired instantly. Boston won the chip, he hated Milwaulkee, got hurt. Dude is basically doing The same video on a weekly basis.

  7. Love A.M Hoops! But Giannis won't leave Milwaukee. It's the franchise that gave him the opportunity of a lifetime and boy, did he capitalise on it! He has built everything from the ground up for them! He may be upset with the current condition of the roster but he won't leave. It just isn't his style. The only thing is NBA media in general are having a dull period and so they want to push some narratives and Giannis is easy target as he won't say anything assertive in public.

  8. In MKE, you must truly despise Giannis. It's clear. It's not always possible to get traded. He recently saw Dame fail miserably at doing the exact same thing.

  9. You make entertaining videos, but you're too focused on the drama, man. It's the off season; do some sh*t about NBA history or even the WNBA. Maybe talk about potential trades or random news around the NBA. It gets tiring watching you drama-baiting every video.

  10. Haha "rockets moved on". Kevin Durant is like 35 years old, acting like he's young and spry. He'll likely be injured by December 2025, bro. Out half the season. 😅

  11. In order to win something you have to lose something in return. In this case he will lose the respect of some fans in Milwaukee but possibly win to further boost his standing as a legend. I personally feel that most of the fans would understand given the situation of the current roster and the fact that Giannis is such a likeable figure.

  12. Who gives a shit about these other teams that are irrelevant in the big picture. Giannis only wants the best: the Lakers

  13. Damn shot himself in the foot. He could've won a chip and literally went back to retire in Portland. Like is living in Portland that fucking dope lol
