Well, guys, it seems like we have a dirty cop that was associated with the Miami Heat. Now, this guy actually um is a retired police officer and he was working security for the Heat in the NBA. But guys, this guy is probably facing some decades in prison right now because he stole something like 400 game one jerseys and made profits off of it, guys. including a LeBron James NBA Finals jersey. Yeah. So, he’s busted, man. He is busted. Now, I definitely do believe, man, he’s going to end up in prison. And, you know, being an ex cop, that’s definitely not a place a cop would want to be in prison. I mean, the criminals in prison, man, don’t take too kindly to law enforcement. Yeah, I believe um the Miami He they probably need to do um better background checks. Okay. Maybe his background was actually cleaned and then he actually got really dirty when u he had access to all those jerseys. And we know folks those gameworn jerseys can fetch a whole bunch of money. And if he’s selling them at a discount because you know to him he doesn’t really want them. He just wants the money. He can make a whole bunch of money guys. But now the Fed’s got him. Yeah, the Fed’s got him. Now he’s in huge trouble now, folks. So, let’s go ahead and get into this right over here, guys. Miami Heat security worker stole and sold $2 million in NBA gear, including LeBron James finals jersey. According to the feds, let’s read it, guys. A former Miami Heat security worker stole millions of dollars worth of franchise memorabilia, including a LeBron James game one NBA Finals jersey, and sold it on the black market. Federal officials announced Marcos Thomas Perez, 62, snatched over 400 game warn jerseys and other items when he worked for the Miami Heat from 2016 to 21 and later as an NBA security employee from 2022 to 2025. So, he was working for the NBA just this year. Wow. man. Over a three-year period, Perez, also a retired 25-year veteran of the U. Miami Police Department, allegedly sold $2 million worth of gear that he lifted from the team’s equipment room, according to prosecutors. How do you actually get out of there with that? Uh, Perez is accused of pedalling the stolen jerseys at a steep discount. Yeah. Now, get this here. That 2013 James final jersey was auctioned at SE in 2023 and rate then $3.7 million, making it the third most expensive jersey in the auction houses history, ESPN reported. But it was originally sold by Perez for nearly $100,000. The feds allege. Wow. Wow. The jersey was from game seven of the 2013 finals in which James torched the San Antonio Spurs for 37 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists in a championship clinching effort. So, it sold for 3.7 million. But this dude stole a jersey and sold it for 100 grand. Wow. Uh, that’s the picture right there of the NBA Finals jersey from 2013 for LeBron James. When police officials raided Perez’s home on April 3rd, they found hundreds more pieces of memorabilia, including more gameworn jerseys stash in his Miami area home. According to the release, many of the stolen items were intended to be displayed in a future Miami Heat museum, the team told federal investigators. So, this man was stashing up you know, history for the Miami Heat stole it. The story was first revealed by NBA insider Amen last week on the Dan Levitar show with Stuarts. Perez is charged with transporting and transferring stolen goods in interstate commerce. Wow. How many years, guys, is this man looking at in prison when you’re talking about like $2 million worth of stuff, man. Something’s telling me, man, he’s going to do a good 10 years in prison. I mean, and he’s a dirty cop, ex cop. Boy, this is not good at all, man. Not good at all. So, I’m thinking I’m wondering, guys, when it comes to this um LeBron James jersey, I mean, it was auctioned off at Sabbes for 3.7 million, but Perez sold it for um $100,000. So, I’m assuming whoever he sold it to first then auctioned off the jersey. That’s what I’m thinking right there. I mean, the details in this little little bit right here, man, not a bunch of details. So, I’m assuming that maybe um but he worked for the Miami Heat. Um what years did he work for him? Says here, um yeah, 2016. That NBA Finals was in 2013. So, I’m assuming maybe that was actually supposed to be um I don’t know, one of the things going into the museum, but it sold at Sabies, though. So, I don’t know. Need more details on that one, man. But boy, this is um bad news for him, man. Bad bad news for him. I mean, guys, they got to do better background checks. That’s the only thing I can say about that. You got to do better background checks, man. This man stole $400 jerseys and other stuff as well. $2 million worth of stuff. And that James jersey now worth way more than that. Way more. I mean, if it sold for um what? 3.7 million they said. Yeah. 3.7 million back in 2023. How much would it actually sell for now?
