Grading the Last 5 Boston Celtics Trades #nba #nbatrades #celtics

Let’s grade the last five big Boston Celtics trades, excluding the ones they made this off seasonason. So, we’re going to go back to the 2023 offseason when they traded away Marcus Smart in a three-team deal that netted them Christophorzingis and two first round picks. I’m going to give this trade an A+. They sold high on Marcus Smart. Christophorzingis was a vital part of their 2024 championship team and they were able to use one of those first round picks to also get somebody else I’m about to mention right now and that player is Drew Holiday. They traded away Mal Groggen, Robert Williams, and one of those first round picks from the KP trade in the 2029 first for Drew Holiday, creating one of the best defensive back courts in the NBA that helped them win a title in 2024. If you win a title, I got to give you A+es for these deals. So, we’ll go back to the 2022 offseason when they acquired Malcolm Brogden for Daniel Ty, Aaron Nmith, Nick Stkis, and a future first round pick. And I’m going to give this trade for them a B+. Malcolm Brogden won six man of the year, but Aaron Nesmith is better. And then back at that deadline, they traded Josh Richardson, Romeo Lenford, a firstround pick and a 2028 pick swap to San Antonio for Derek White. This is an amazing trade for the Boston Celtics. Another A+. And to finish things off, we’re going to go back to the summer of 2021. They basically wanted a salary dump Kemell Walker. So, they sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. And the 16th overall pick in the 21 draft, which actually ended up being Alber Shenun in another trade. They’re basically Al Horford. I’m going to give this one an A as well. I know it hurts giving up a first round pick that ended up being Alber Shenun. Who knows if Brad Stevens would have made that selection and Al Horford may get his jersey retired by the Boston Celtics.
