    Lets not sugarcoat this. AD is one of the best Power Fowards in the game. Only Giannis is a player who compares to his combination of size, athleticism, and big number scoring punch(40+) with physicality to get 15+ rebounds with blocks(3+).

    This was the debate between them in 2019 and even in 2025 no one else has risen up as better PF options than those 2 other than Jaren Jackson Jr, Bam Adebayo, and recently Evan Mobley but neither have the scoring punch as Giannis/AD. Zion was the big prospect but he has plateau and underachieved so far.

    That is the expectation from AD as he can be a top 5 player in the league and DPOY player for the Mavs this upcoming season if he is healthy. Before anyone laugh at this Giannis comparison just remember Giannis after 2020 unlike AD had Brook Lopez as a Center to help keep too much punishment off his body while AD had to play the 5 for the Lakers as a season starter.

    I'm just saying this to remind fans that AD has this potential so don't underestimate him and as a professional this is the expectation he should have of himself. Which I don't think fans know how much of a force AD is defensively with how much ground he can cover just himself out there. Great player from Lively to learn from.
