Jayson Tatum and Joe Mazzulla Just Went to a Celtics Event
Now, how about them damn Celtics? All right, we’re back again with another Celtics video. Today, we are talking about Jason Tatum and Joe Missoula who were in Providence this afternoon uh for an event. They spoke Rich Go well they spoke to the crowd of people there. Rich Gotham spoke to the media. We didn’t get to speak with uh Jason Tatum or Joe Missoula. However, they were in attendance for the event. It was the groundbreaking uh of a new facility in Providence. uh a new early education center um in the Manton Heights neighborhood. Joe Missoula, obviously from Johnson Island, uh your your stopping ground, a town over from Providence, very close by. Uh a great project. It was a nice day. It was cool to see the new facilities. I’m sure we can pull up some pictures and stuff on Twitter. Um as far as Celtic specific news outside of the project, Tatum not in a boot, which is I guess pretty normal to this, you know, point of his recovery, but people were freaking out because he walked upstairs there to see a bunch of kids. So, he was walking up and down some stairs, which was something. Uh, Rich Gotham talked about how his progression has been nice to see. He talked about how Jaylen Brown, they expect, you know, all the leadership that we know Jaylen Brown can provide. He thinks they’ll be pretty good next year. He think they’ll be better than people think. All this stuff. Um, and uh, yeah, that’s that was the event. We can look at some pictures, but what if he just went up there and was like, I actually think we’re going to suck. Like, we’re going to be terrible next year. It’s going to be a tough season. It that would like never happen. I feel like if they even if they were like deliberately tanking, he would still be like, “Te’s probably better than everyone thinks. You know, we have a real shot.” Like, it’s his job to say that stuff. I saw somebody say it and I was like, “You know what? That’s big facts, actually.” But, um, cool event. Everyone was gathered on the outdoor basketball court. Pretty cool to see. Always love when Joe Missoula has like the fresh haircut and shave. Man looks so sharp with it. Uh, you know, I mean, anytime there in Rhode Island, very cool. Personally, right down the street from where I’m at. Um, Tatum had never been here before. His loss, he said it was uh pretty I I refuse to believe that that’s true. There’s no way he’s been here for seven years. Well, I don’t know. I mean, he may have like driven Well, they don’t they probably don’t drive. Like, if he has to go somewhere, he’s going to fly. I am going to So, ready? I’ll take you on the journey with me. Let’s take a look at this. So, here’s what I’m doing. I’m opening up Google and I am going to let me make this the view for the the video so it looks normal. I’m opening up Google and I’m going to go to tools. I’m going to go anytime and I’m going to do a custom range and we’re going to do 2018 to 2020. We’ll we’ll do August. We’ll just do 07 uh 0125 just in case you won earlier this year. Okay. Uh let’s see. Let’s check out any of these. Um, this is a Jay Leno thing. Okay, this is an AMA. Maybe he has it cuz there isn’t much here. Um, okay. Okay, hold up. Let’s take a look. Um, so this was I don’t I don’t want that. Is so this article. Are you looking at the one that says Okay, go ahead. I’m looking at Jay Leno’s one, but it’s it’s just giving me a million popups. Jay Leno, who lives in Newport, by the way, in that’s well shares this with Jay Leno. So, I wonder if he went down there. Um, but I can’t even scroll because this website is being ridiculous. Um, but it does sound like Tatum didn’t actually go. Uh, this is just a look inside Jason Tatum to Massachusetts. So, that doesn’t count. Um, he might not have been. There is something here about AMA which is founded in Island. So, that’s not there. There’s something about Tatum embracing being a Bostononian which is a Tik Tok. But this is this is the last one. Um, I I don’t Yeah, I don’t think so. I don’t think he’s ever been to Rhode Island. I guess he’s he’s correct. He was missing out. If I knew, I would have came down there with some coffee milk, maybe doughboys for Miggy’s. I’m sure Missoula could have given him a nice tour. Somebody when it was stated, somebody uh screamed out, “Go get some Dells uh at him.” So, I wonder if he did. Probably not. Probably not in the diet. Not in the recovery diet. Um, it it was cool. Like I think it’s nice that truthfully that the Celtics are like branching out and going further than like the city lines of Boston and doing stuff like I personally don’t remember the last time they’ve done anything here if ever like just to play into the the Tatum piece of this. But I suppose we should talk about the Achilles because nobody really cares about him being in Rhode Island except me. Yeah, he’s walking. He doesn’t have a boot on. That that’s all Twitter has said. like all the nameless faceless burner accounts are like he’s gonna be back and I’m so sick and tired of like the post even if he is doing well which you know I think everyone’s rooting for Tatum to do well nobody’s rooting against him they’re not like man I hope he takes an extra three months to get back compared to what he’s supposed to like no no no one is doing that at the same time it probably doesn’t matter but you’re putting an unnecessary pressure on the whole situation that doesn’t need to be Even if you put Tatum on the Celtics team, they would be good, better than they are now, but they would not be at the level that they’ve been for the last several seasons. And it’s a big difference, big difference in supporting cast. And you would be putting a lot of pressure on a guy coming off a serious career potentially injury to come back and be Superman unironically with the commercial that was going around the playoffs. It’s it’s just too much. like be happy he’s, you know, able to be out and about. I guess if you want to get excited about him going upstairs, like that’s cool. I saw like the dumb account being like three, he’s doing three steps at a time. Yeah, dude. Like three steps for Jason Tatum is like a normal person, especially if he’s at like a youth center. Yeah. Like the steps are probably a little smaller. I I don’t I’m not a twostep guy. It’s hard hard for me. A little bit too hard. But yeah, a lot of people will do multiple steps. Like that’s his version. Maybe he’s getting a little worried every time he goes upstairs. Exactly. For what it’s worth, um, per My Health Alberta, which is just like a health, you know, website. It says you will probably be in a boot for six to 12 weeks after recovery and after that, fine. It’s pretty standard, right? That’s pretty normal. Somebody’s on Twitter commenting like, “Yeah, that’s pretty normal for a killer surgery that they’re not going to be wearing a boot.” But I think we just haven’t we we we didn’t see him in a boot, I think, is the thing. Like Tatum’s not a public figure that much like to the level of Tyres Hallebertton who’s like at all these games and stuff in a boot. like they don’t really do that and so we just missed that period of his recovery as is probably what he wished. I can share some pictures of the event in case people are curious to see Jason Tatum to see Joe Misula to see some quotes and stuff like that. Um I’ll scroll through my time timeline of just what I was tweeting when I was there. Uh Rich Gotham Joe Missoula everyone was in Providence. This is a little sneak peek of the event. You can see Joe down here at the bottom of your screen. Uh this was Rich Gotham speaking and then this is just the group of people um that was down there in um in Heights. Missoula said, “I have a chance to live my dream every single day because of my environment, because of the people that poured it into me. It’s important for us adults to know that we’re responsible for those ahead of us, for the legacy ahead of us, talking about how important it is to instill early education and give these kids a chance to, you know, get that early education.” Um, Jason Tatum got there, sat down front row, obviously no boot, as I I did point out on Twitter. Jason Tatum said, “Uh, this is the quote. Uh, this might be my first time in Rhode Island. I didn’t know what to expect. This is pretty cool.” Uh, he was playing to the crowd a little bit. Um, this is hard hat Joe Bazula and Jason Tatum. Joe Mazula did not smile in any of the pictures as one would expect. And then quote from Rich Gotham. Uh, and that’s that’s it for the event. You can see it like, “Oh, he’s walking today. He doesn’t have a boo on today.” Little milestones and what’s been a pretty grueling process for him talking about how it’s been fun to watch him progress at the Arbback Center and stuff like that. So, um, just a cool event, a fun day. Go check out Twitter. I was there, Noah was there, Daniel was there, Bobby Manning was there. Um, Carales was there. So, if you’d like to see anybody’s content, I’m sure there will be stuff coming out. uh some tidbits from uh Rich Gotham as well that I’m sure people will be writing up in articles. I’ll probably write something about it. Check it out there. But uh it was good to see Tatum out and about. If nothing else, it was good to see, you know, Joe out and about in the community. That was a fun event. And uh I don’t know if there’s anything else. You have anything else? Good wellness check. Yeah. Making sure he’s doing okay. Exactly. Exactly. Um, the final thing I would be so curious to just if they were doing like a documentary on his recovery, they’re probably not, but like even if somebody was covering it through like an article or something, that stuff is so fascinating to me cuz being some being a normal person, right? Like me, if I go for a run and I’m like injured and then I can’t run for a while, like I freak out. Like I’m like, I’m going to lose all of like the things I’ve worked for. I can’t even imagine what it’s like when you’re somebody who’s athletically gifted like Tatum. I mean, he tweeted about it. Yeah. And like you literally I mean when you look at the pictures of Tatum, there’s a clear difference of his left leg versus his right leg. His right leg looks far skinnier. I don’t know if you notice in person. Maybe it’s just like over analyzing photos. But like it’s just natural. He’s not using that leg. He’s not able to really put a lot of weight on it. He’s not supposed to put a lot of pressure on it, whatever it is. So he can’t really work out. He’s probably terrified in his head of like, man, I’m not going to be able to have any burst boot like pushing off my right leg or whatever it may be. And that is the fascinating part of this, the road back. I I think if anybody is confident enough and capable enough to get back from it, it’s a guy like Jason Tatum who has been really good at bouncing back from injuries throughout his career. Um, but it’s certainly not going to be easy. I don’t think recovering from an Achilles injury is easy for anybody. So, we’ll see what happens. Uh, make sure to leave a like, subscribe to have out Celtics. Uh, and then I’ll take it out. Hey, thank you very much for listening and watching. Keep it up guys – thanks for the steady stream of content! One of the few where I have the notification bells on. Looking forward to a season with low expectations! // long time Cs fan from Sweden
Providence is very similar to St. Louis where he’s from!
Good old Providence. It looked like they were on manton which is not a great location. I used to live close. I live in Warwick now, but some parts of Providence are beat down
I’ve never heard of Tatum coming to Providence
I would’ve been down there too if I knew. So upsetting actually.
Two steps is hard
Tatum might be the Adrian Peterson (NFL – ACL tear) of this injury.
I remember everyone saying Adrian would not return that next season, and said he’d have a big drop off in production. He was the first to back and be himself, then a bunch of other players started doing the same.
Maybe moving forward, the Tatum recovery route would be the new standard.
I say that, but I hope he doesn’t play any meaningful minutes next year.
Having injured my Achilles, I can say there’s still a long road ahead, but I have faith in his character and determination to do everything possible to recover.
