and losing to that team in a game seven. That was a a really tough blow. The Los Angeles Clippers have won game seven. Kind of came back to the drawing board like we’re really close. We have what it takes to win. We just felt a change had to be made to go from good to great. And that’s how we wound up with Steve Kerr. We’ve got a chance to be really good for the next decade. It set the tone of selflessness for the team. That was the first step to starting this thing that we kept saying, which is strengthen numbers. Bring that focus. Bring that energy. Let’s get this win. Just us. 1 2 3. Just us. There was something happening very quickly and very early. If you were watching it, you saw it. Man, we had a squad. Sean Livingston was a guy. If same drag class as me, you know, we were a confident unit. We were there just all in and having fun. Just really a brotherhood. The real key ingredient though was was Draymond Green. You know, one thing I always live by, it’s real easy to be me. And the confidence that they had, it was just contagious. We have a real chance to be a contender here. I go back to that game and I think about if we would have lost it, what would the route of the team and the franchise been after that? You don’t know your championship contender until you actually get to the finals. Nikki Rang coming in with the uh suggestion placing Andrew Bogat with Andre Gdal in the starting lineup. the death lantern as it was called. Put your hard hat on, Draymond. You ain’t got to go play the five. Buckle up now. I looked around. I’m not kidding. I said, it’s the greatest moment of my my life. This is this is this is it. And I’ll never forget standing there and Steph holding the ball and I’m standing there looking at him. He’s like, “What?” Said, “What? What?

  1. One of the greatest transformation/reclamation success stories in all of sports history. The elation and pride given to the Bay Area has to be studied. At least two generations will remember this feeling.

  2. As a Warriors fan for a decade before that moment in time, real tears were shed that night. Pure elation. Couldn’t imagine what fans spanning multiple decades were feeling.

  3. The craziest thing about this team is that before Mark Jackson got fired – no one expected the Warriors to make such a huge jump from being bounced in the first round to winning the finals the next year.

When it came to the West, I remember vividly it was a battle between OKC, Spurs and the Clippers for Western Conference supremacy and the team on the rise was the Rockets.

Mark Jackson gets fired, Steve Kerr comes in – the question going around was "How much of a difference is that going to make?". It caught the whole league and fans by surprise just how good the Warriors were.

  4. That season they lost to the clippers. Was the season I became fans, they were so entertaining to watch. Shout out to mark jackson!
