Wizards Sign Akoldah Gak To A Exhibit 10 Deal
According to ESPN, AOD Gawk, right? AOD Gawk out of Australia, played for the Mexico City Capitanas this past season is joining the Washington Wizards on an exhibit 10 deal. Basically, it’s a non-Garanteed one-year deal if he were to make the team out of training camp. Obviously, the deck is stacked against him. More than likely what it means is that he’ll be on the Washington G-League affiliate, which is the Capital City Go. And if he does play there for 60 days, he gets himself a $50,000 bonus, which would then push that in combination with his G-League salary north of $100,000 in earnings and allow him to also go back and play in the MBL1 or in Puerto Rico to double dip his salary. So making you know obviously probably 150k or 130k whatever it may be six figure salary but a a gak a gak I want to make sure that I’m saying that correctly that’s how I heard it and saw it a gak. So a gak and I’m just going to say Mr. Gak and I hope someone just doesn’t go like the gak 3000 is a big man athletic one a guy who averaged six and six for the cons tapens in previous seasons this past year with the Mexico City Capatan is in 19 minutes a night only 19 games or 12 games my apology in 12 games he was someone who averaged about five points four rebounds just under a block in a steel game shot 25% % from three, 70% from the free throw line, and 43% almost from the field. Now, his brother Gach is actually a guy who has played for California Baptist and also played in 66 NBL games and his Dengak is another brother of his who played for the Miami Hurricanes. To me, I think this is a guy that has been playing professional basketball since 2020 at 18 years old. He’s been doing it for 5 years. Played for the Ilawara Hawks as kind of like a developmental player. Then he went to the K Tapens and was this defensive forward for them. is kind of a switch big more of an interior like body similar to like a Chris Bouchet. probably more like a wing Gabriel who is I think a more apt description and as I mentioned in with the K statements he was averaging like almost six and six for his career in 68 games across all NBL games 55% from the field 22% from three 56% from the free throw line four points three rebounds as a reserve big and he actually played for Australia’s U20 or U19 team in 2021 and then in 2022 he’s actually on the Chicago Bulls summer league team so he’s someone who’s going to be bringing some size he’s almost 7 foot at 6’1 and he’s a solid rebounder, defensive versatility to be able to guard some forwards, probably most bigs, and he’s someone who brings some energy and paint presence. So, I think he’s someone who definitely could eventually earn a two-way contract in the NBA. So, I want to hear your guys’ thoughts down below in the comment section.
