NBA Live! Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors | LeBron vs Curry | GS vs LAL | NBA 2K25
We’re at the midway point of the season. Richard, what do you say to teams near the top of the standings? That it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. We’ve got plenty of season left. And even though they’ve played well so far, you can’t afford to get complacent. And now the Los Angeles starters. Austin Reeves out there with Luca Donic. Then it’s DeAndre Aton. Then there’s LeBron James and it’s Larabia in at the three. The small forward and he buries his first look. I wouldn’t say Butler seeks contact, but he sure doesn’t turn it down. Earlier, Ally Lefor spoke with head coach Steve Kerr. What’d you find out, Ally? He was just marveling at LeBron’s ability to take advantage of any mistake you make, even a minor one. He said, “If you’re even a half step away from a guy defensively, LeBron will find that person.” Coach is asking his guys to stay connected to shooters tonight. And Ally, thank you for that. Now, here’s Horford. Here’s Curry. Good. And it’s Horford who picks up the assist. He’s a magician inside. Curry always finds a window. Here’s Aiden. And Aiden with the stuff. He finds a shooter in motion and is confident he can threat him with the lead pass. Well done. A little over a minute gone here in the first quarter [Applause] and Luca Donuch is going to pick up the foul. That’s his first foul. Oh, they’ve got their eyes on him calling the foul right away. [Applause] Donic against Curry. Five on the clock. Pass to post from the ark. Let me tell you from experience when LeBron James is locked in on defense, that’s a scary sight for a team. Oh, got to move. Here’s the Rabia. Green covering. It’s stolen by Curry. And Reeves pulls it down. I thought he had that all sewn up, but somehow the defense just threw him off. Larivia passes to Donic. Fires for three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Well, they put up a nice win against Chicago last time out. I found it was an interesting game. Anything they couldn’t get from their starters, they got from their reserves for a number of reasons. Depth seems to become more important every year. You know, for all the accolades thrown Stephen Curry’s way, Richard, I’ve heard you say he might be the best condition player ever. Absolutely. When you think about all the ground he covers every single game, his stamina is still something that I will always be impressed with. And that one falls for Curry. Well, Richard with the relocations and the floor he covers. Curry is still an anomaly with his conditioning. Oh, he’s got an offseason program that would make other NBA stars tap out, including myself. His conditioning is amongst the best of all time. It wears on you as a defender. And the Lakers making a change here. Smarts checked in. And so Curry nails both of them. He’s making the most of every trip to the line, providing for his team. Pass to Aiden. Here’s the Rabia and there’s the screen and here’s James takes the three and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Curry with it defended by Smart. Curry a screen on Aiden. Back to Curry. It’s stolen by Smart. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Well, Marcus Smart is the pulse of the team. He plays with passion and does whatever his team needs from him. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. [Applause] That free throw no good. Remember when people were questioning whether the Warriors were truly a dynasty, R.J.? I do. And that was a race for good with that championship run in 2022. I still think that that is Steph’s most important championship. That title cemented them as one of the all-time great teams of the last 50 years. He hits the second from the line. This is surely a spot that Marcus Smart has shown signs of being really good. He has definitely improved from the moment that he came into the league until now. Now, here’s Curry. He’s coming off a 19-point game against Chicago. And how about the vision he displayed? Great job getting others involved and piling up the assist. Here’s Post. That one drops for him. Love to see him inside passing like this as well as guys being on the same page. Pass to Larabia. Back to Reeves. James right side outside. Reeves. That falls. Nice feed that time from James. It’s the confidence of Austin Reeves. He just knows what his shot is. And we’re just over three and a half minutes into this first quarter. [Applause] Now Curry launches a three. Rebounded by LeBron. And I’m surprised that didn’t go down. I mean, I’m sure he is too. Drills it from deep. And it’s big when Smart is hitting from deep. Really helps open up this offense. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. We might see him looking to make some tweaks to the strategy here. And how about LeBron? Even if he’s no longer the clear-cut best player in the league, he can still take over a game, RJ. Oh, make no mistake. He is still the best when he needs to be. Absolutely. Has a switch that gets flipped when he needs it. It’s not on for 48 minutes, but he can definitely turn it on for a few. Come [Applause] on. Come on. All right, let’s take a glance at which two guards have been shooting the ball the best from outside the arc this season. Second is Austin Reeves. And as a rule of thumb, you always want great shooters at the shooting guard position if you can get them. Now, these guys are the cream of the crop. And having a reliable three-point option at offg guard pretty much a necessity at this point in time in the league. On defense, the Lakers, they lead by four. Back to Green. Pass to post. Corford with it. Now here’s Curry defended by Smart. Clock at six from deep and Aiden pulls it down. Good contest. Can’t let him have open shots from mid-range. Here’s James. Banked it in off the glass. Their ball movement on this run has been tremendous. It’s led to a lot of good, clean, open looks. And so it’s Golden State with it. Has to post. Now here’s Curry. Shot to stop the run and it’s good on the layin. Curry’s got his second basket of the night. Zero fear from Curry inside. two more points in his Hall of Fame career. And here’s Smart. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers. Four-point game. A tough loss coming against Boston in their last game. Defensively, they weren’t up to the task. Didn’t play as a cohesive unit and it really hurt them. Boy, they looked like they were asleep on that end of the floor. No one was talking. No one was paying attention. It was rough. Now here’s Curry. He’s got six. takes a three. Curry with another miss. Los Angeles leading by four. Inside. Oh, deflected. Horford with a steal. And they’re on the run. Here’s Post. Rejected by James. A look at the old man still getting it done on defense. LeBron James still takes great pride in rejecting shots. This defense just can’t stay connected to shooters. The Warriors have gone four of 10 shooting the rock in this first quarter. Horford outside. It’s stolen by Smart on the break and we’ve got word on some action happening in the Eastern Conference. Shams, what’s the latest? Thank you, BA. With the countdown leading up to the trade deadline, the Indiana Pacers front office has been busy. They were able to acquire Kyle Lowry and this bodess very well for giving them the stability and mature mindset that he brings to their offense. Kyle may be toward the end of his career, but we all know his decision-m execution is topnotch. He is still producing at a championship level. Well done. Appreciate the reports. Thanks. Smart pass it to James for three. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got four rebounds in the game. Here’s Curry. Count it. Make that three of seven so far for him. Got the defender on his heels right there. And Curry capitalized. What a finish. The Lakers lead by five. James passes to Aton. James outside. Shoots from 12. Warriors with the rebound. Well, some trips you get the shot you want, it just doesn’t fall. I’d go back to him in that area on the floor. Here’s Post. Aton with the defensive effort. His consistency just hasn’t been there this quarter in terms of his shooting. James passes to Reeves. Here’s Aiden. Horford covering. [Applause] They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. Oh, Aton with the block. So difficult to shoot over. Eighton proving it with that rejection. Attacking the rim with power. Tremendous finish. Warriors trail by seven. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments. And this matchup with Los Angeles, their first meeting of the season. They’ll be looking for payback after grabbing the short straw in the season series last year. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] And the Warriors making a change here. Pajimski’s checked in. Aimura’s checked in for Los Angeles. Vincent comes in for Reeves. [Applause] pass to post. And here’s Horford. He’s covered by Eaton. Five to shoot. [Applause] Golden State needs to get off a shot. He can’t get that one to fall. The Lakers lead by seven. James outside uses the glass on the layup. Like at this point in time, like you have to understand that if LeBron James is on the inside, he has so many ways to beat you. A little contact’s not going to do anything. And here’s Pajki. He’s been a consistent contributor, averaging just over 11 a game. Pass to post the three ball. Pure from three-point range. Post has got five points. He’s consistent from out there, especially when you give him that kind of room. Vincent with the ball now. Pajimky defending. Peyton with a screen. Here’s Vincent. Off target with the three. That is not a guy you want to allow open looks for range. Lucky for the defense, he just couldn’t get it to go. Back to Green to the inside. Pass the post. Lets the three fly. Good. And it’s Horford who picks up the assist. Horford’s got his third assist of the night. Backing up that last three with another three. The defense has to stop giving him so many clean looks. Now here’s Vincent. No made baskets yet. And he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. Green against Smart. Throws it up high. Just a ferocious finish. Butler is a force out there. I mean, he really plays with a big chip on his shoulder. The Lakers in the lead. Benson outside. [Applause] It’s James on the wing. And the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. I love how physical James is. Terrific at getting defenses to foul him. He’s getting his first free throw attempts of the night now. [Applause] That free throw good from James. What I appreciate about LeBron is how much he loves being a leader. He knows how much his teammates count on him. Hayes has checked in for Los Angeles. Reeves comes in for Vincent. Both free throws good from James. Some things changed, but LeBron stays the same. Still the same leader on the floor, the same player. It is truly impressive. Now here’s Pajki. 15 in his last outing. The shots good. That’s been the story of their offense so far, getting a number of looks from point blank range. [Applause] 151 left to play in the first quarter. Then how about Brandon Pajimky, Richard? When he’s given the minutes, he can stuff the stat sheet. Yeah, even when it comes to his rebounding, DA, that’s the result of great heart, great hustle, and great timing. His teammates feed off his energy. Look, scrappy play has always been a staple for Marcus Smart. He just loves to create contact and get in the fray. And this is his second trip to the line tonight. The first one falls. Stephen Curry. He’s checked in for Jimmy Butler. The Lakers also with a sub. Connect checked in for LeBron. [Applause] That one misses and so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for Golden State. Trailing by two. Bush up top. There’s the steel. Aimura outside. So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. It goes on Chris Buché. Well, Hachimura is always ready to go into that overdrive inside and fight you for it. Richard, it’s nice to have the versatility of a guy like Hachimura. Equally comfortable at either forward position. Well, he’s got the size and strength of a modern-day NBA power forward, but he also has the ability to stretch the floor and knock down a three. That’s a nice combo. That free throw misses. A reliable role player. Hachim Moore’s versatility, especially scoring wise, is what makes him so valuable. [Applause] [Applause] and he sinks the second and they’re just hacking away out there. I mean, it’s costing them too at the free throw line. Curry passes to Buché with it and he’s going for the oop here. Here’s connect. Moody defends. Smart outside. Oh, they pick off the pass. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. And they’re going to count that bucket and they’ll send him to the line. It could be a three-point play. A sharp steal and some quick offense. Cuts it down to a onepossession game. Well done. First trip to the free throw line for him tonight. One shot. [Applause] And that one misses. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting an impressive 47%. Hachimura outside [Applause] pass to Reeves. The three fires in the triple. Reeves has got his third basket on the night right there. There it is. With Reeves, you don’t have to worry about his confidence. [Applause] Now here’s Pajki. Here’s Moody. Bush on the screen. [Applause] Shot clock at six. Rebound the Lakers. Here’s Connect still without a bucket. Here’s Hayes. That misses. Would have counted had it gone. Austin Reeves has been on display for Los Angeles. He’s found his range, hitting three triples in the quarter. We’ll be back in a moment. And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are. And some stats here, guys. The scoring breakdown for Los Angeles. Well, so far, their long range shooting has been the story. Doing damage from deep. They’re also managing to make lots of trouble for their opponent in transition. Right away they’re finding points on the break. Warriors trail by four. So on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter. They’ve got connect. Hayes is out there with Ruyachimura. Then there’s Marcus Smart and it’s Reeves in at the two. The minute that Steph Curry steps into an arena, he is in his range. Pass to Hayes. Here’s Connect. Aimura outside offline with a three. He is just so deadly from out there. You expect that to fall. Now here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Reeves. Hand stolen by Hayes in transition. Here they come. Blocked and it’s out of bounds. The Lakers able to retain possession here. And you got to be in awe of incredible defensive efforts like this. And this is exactly why he’s out here. In order to block shots in tight games like this. Vincent checked in for the Lakers. Here’s connect. Still no points. Achi Murl from long range and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. The Warriors trailing. Pass to Pajimsky and the league has cut down on backto backs but some push back for a surprising reason. Richard, teams need multiple days off in order to practice. Yeah, that’s right. With only one day off between games, teams don’t usually practice on those off days. It’s not as simple as it looks. counted from distance. Always ready to put the team first. Reeves wants the ball in the hands of the most ready scorer. Now here’s Curry. He’s covered by Vincent and they get it back. [Applause] It’s Pajimky on the wing. He’s covered by Reeves. Six on the shot clock. Second shot opportunity. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s going to go on Jackson Hayes. I like that. I mean, some physical play inside. He’s not about to give up any easy baskets. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And he makes a first. And the Lakers making a change here. Labra has checked in. Both good from the line that time for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten only one of four shots to go in. And it’s Achimura on the drive. Here’s a look at what’s coming up for the Golden State Warriors. On Tuesday, they’ll defend home court against the Utah Jazz. And then on Wednesday, they’ll host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Looking at this stretch, they should have little issues beating most of their opponents. They just need to keep the intensity up and avoid playing down to their competition. [Applause] Free throw good. Aimura. [Applause] So he gets them both. And we’re about two minutes into the second quarter here. Outside Pajimski. Pass to Curry. [Applause] The three is up. Curry buries the triple. after failing to knock down anything from deep in the first quarter. He’s got two to go here in the second. Outside Reeves. Aimura with a ball covered by Bush. Goes up on the wing and the basket by Aimura. Aimura’s got five. Oh, when Rury hits the mid-range, it makes him that much tougher to handle. Pajimsky with it. Vincent picks him up. The three from Curry and it’s Larabia with a rebound. Given his range, you’d expect him to capitalize on that opening. Outside Reeves Benson outside on the wing. Aimura. [Music] Six to shoot. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock. Benson can’t hit. Good job by the D to stay with him and make that a tough three. Now here’s Curry. He’s covered by Vincent. Launches it and Curry is good for three. Curry’s got nine points in the quarter. That’s his third three-pointer now after not getting any in the opening period. Aimura outside. And here’s Reeves outside and the rebound goes to the Warriors. In the first quarter, he was raining down three. That’s not the case here in the second. Pajimsky shot is good. This man sees everything on the court. Curry just dropping dimes out there. [Applause] The Lakers have got two of seven attempts to drop since the end of the first quarter. [Applause] Now here’s Vincent tightly guarded and here’s Reeves outside and he gets it to go. Four for six so far and shooting wise he’s been fantastic helping to build this lead and his defenses have adjusted to Austin Reeves scoring. Richard he’s countered with the pass. Austin Reeves doesn’t get enough credit for how good his handle is, how much it’s improved. It’s allowed for him to score, get into different places and make these passes. Already seven lead changes. These teams are really going after each other. It’s been a brutal game to play, but a fun one to watch. Now, here’s Reeves. 17 points for him last game against Boston. And how about the vision he displayed? Great job getting others involved and piling up the assist. And it’s energy like that on both ends of the floor that’s got them out ahead. Reeves with the ball. [Applause] Pass to Aimura. [Applause] And it’s Bush with the rebound. Fantastic defense giving full effort. Curry passes to Moody. Back to Curry. No one near him. And it’s Trace Jackson Davis with a foul. That’s his first foul. Some changes for Los Angeles. James has checked in for Hayes. And Donic has subbed in for Vincent. Lakers trail by three. And so JJ Reick calls for the timeout. He wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page. Man, it’s been quite a game for Stephen Curry. This timeout gives them a chance to strategize because whatever the game plan they have, it’s not working. [Applause] And midway through the season, here’s a look at the Western Conference standings right now. You take a look at the Warriors. They’re currently in fourth place and trying their best to get a better seating. And check it out. The Lakers, quite a bit of space between these two. Well, I think for Golden State, it really hasn’t been the dominant season they were hoping for, but they’re still in the hunt for a high postseason seed. From here on out is just about putting in the work. Coming to every game ready to compete and never giving less than your best. To the middle. Here’s Post. Oh, nice finish from the low block. That one’s good. Post has got 10 points. And a look at how the hustle game has been going for the Warriors. from the tip. They are not making things easy on them. Lots of steals playing disruptive basketball. You know, they’ve also been very effective at running the floor. Just a ton of points in the fast break. It’s been a big part of their success. Here’s Donic. The Warriors getting their last shot to go. Shoots over Curry. Luca, get off me. Yeah, Donic has no problem getting physical. Whatever he has to do to score, he gets it done. Back to Green. Pass to post beyond the arc. It doesn’t go for him. And sometimes on defense, you could just get lucky. Here’s Reeves. There’s the drive. Soft touch off the glass. Reeves has got five points now in the quarter. Oh yeah, Reeves is an aggressive scorer. Willing to trade punishment for points. And I respect it. Now Curry, he’s got 17. [Applause] Corford. A screen on Reeves. [Applause] Back to Curry [Applause] with the teardrop. Donic pulls down the board. And here’s Donic. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers. And following this game, they hit the road to challenge the Hornets at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. That’ll be the second stop of this six-game trip. And it’s time to take another look at that powerful block. Yeah, just some terrific effort there. And you know, the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. Vincent’s checked in for Reeves. [Applause] Curry against Donic. Back to Aimura. Pass to Vincent. [Applause] Here’s Labraia. Averaging around five points a game. Four on the clock. James finds Donic. Off the mark from 16 ft. That’s a shot he’d like back. He’s usually going to make those. Now Green outside Curry. Here’s Post all alone and he hits the jump shot. Post has got 12. One of the most unselfish superstars out there. Curry is always looking to make his teammates better. Lakers trail by three. Benson outside. Pass to Donic. shoots over Curry. Donic with the bucket. Donic has gotten his second bucket of the game. That’s a guy you want taking shots, a quality offensive player. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Pajimskis checked in for the Warriors. Connects checked in for Los Angeles. And a chance for us here to check out the top passing teams in the league this past month. The Lakers number one. And over this last stretch, this team has been incredible passing the Rock, playing great team basketball. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Orford outside [Music] and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Hard to find a season in his career where Horford didn’t make an impact. RJ, one way or another, he’s going to help his team win. Still out there doing it and doing it at a high level. He’s kind of an ageless wonder. [Applause] That free throw no good. If you want to talk about a high value veteran, Al Horford is your guy. I mean, he’s been around the block and has a ton of wisdom to share with younger guys. Good on the second one. And here’s James coming off a 31-point game against Boston. Pass to Larabia from deep. Here’s Donic again. Donic missing the Warriors leading. [Applause] It’s stolen by James. Here’s connect. [Applause] Pass to Donic. Jacks up a three. That one’s good from Aimura on the assist from Donic. Aimura’s got eight. And the coaching staff loves it. It’s why they encourage Aimura to fire away. And so it’s Golden State with it. And here’s Horford over to the left wing. Oh, it’s stolen by Aimura. Out of bounds. It’ll be Warriors ball. a moment here to see the numbers for Stephen Curry. And I’m sure he’s hoping to correct the dip his three-point percentage has suffered over the last 10 games. He’s going to be hustling hard to pull that back up again. The Warriors have gone eight of 15 in the second. Oh, wasted no time on that one. Six points for him. There’s not much you can do to slow down Butler in the mid-range. He just gets to his spot and rises up. The shot by James, no good. Golden State has gone three for seven from the perimeter during the second quarter. The shot by Pajimky, no good. The Lakers trail. Pass to Labraia. Traymond driving to the rim. Another shot and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Plays the game with a lot of ferocity. Draymond won’t take no for an answer. It’s his first trip to the line. Shooting two. Free throw good. Green. And when we talk about players who impact winning, Draymond Green is high on that list, RJ. And the amazing thing, his career scoring average is in the single digits. Draymond does it with his passing and directing the defense and gives his teams energy. And both free throws good for Green, the quintessential blue guy. Green does all the dirty work. You need one of these guys on your team because he has such a diverse skill set. It’s stolen by Green. [Applause] Pass to post and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s on LeBron James. Well, that was clearly a foul. Take a break. Take a break. [Applause] First free throw is good. Heating up from the line this quarter. Helping their cause for sure. They’re right around 80% now. And so he hits both and so Smart will bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s a five-point game. [Applause] Pass to Reeves. Takes a three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Post has got six rebounds here tonight. And one of the reasons they’re down right now is because they’ve fallen in love with the jump shot. Now Horford is covered by Eaton. I like when Horford seeks out his offense like this. Look, making the D compromise on one or the other. He’s made one and missed one so far at the line. shooting two. That one’s off. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. and he’s good on the second now. Here’s Reeves. 14 points for him. Pass to James. Here’s Livia. Green covering. Here’s Aiden. that one off the back iron it out. I’ll tell you what, they’ve been aggressive and they’ve been physical. Here’s Post CX from downtown. Post has got nine points in the quarter. This brings him to three total makes from the ark with just one in this half so far. And so JJ Reic calls for the timeout. He’ll take the opportunity to regroup. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] a minute 22 left in the first half of this one. Reeves the pass to Aiden. Now Smart. Here’s Livia. Pass to James. James from distance. Easy work. When you’re guarding LeBron, you have to give him something. So, the King, well, he’ll take a three-point basket. 102 left in the second quarter. Corford with it. Down low. Green in the post. Just five on the clock. Here’s Moody. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. James has got four rebounds in the game. To the left side wing. Back to Smart. Pass to Aiden. Shoots. That’s good. And it’s Smart with the assist. And now just a four-point Warrior lead. And look at Aiden finding that rhythm, getting a shot off fast. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Their biggest lead of the game was nine. They’ll face the Jazz after this game. That’ll be at home. blocked. Fires from way outside and that’s not going to go. Stephen Curry getting it done for Golden State. Hunting for opportunities leading to nine points in the quarter. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey Ally. Thanks so much. Al, as you anchor that front court, what were you guys looking to accomplish in the first half? I mean, we’re, you know, we’re just trying to play with pace, you know, trying to dominate on the defensive end, get rebounds, uh, make it tough. Pace is key. Back to you. Okay, Ally. Appreciate it. And folks, we’ll be back after halftime to begin the third quarter. [Applause] I hope we get to see all of these guys expand the field if you have to. Yeah, just get a center or a power forward in there. The game has evolved. Us big guys need representation. And taking a look back now at the first half of play, the Lakers find themselves in a tight one. They better be grateful for their bench. The reserves are showing up in a big way. The others you always talk about, big fella, taking some pressure off the starters here. Glad you could join us. Brian Anderson and crew are ready to take it away for the start of the third quarter. And in that first half, we saw a pretty tight battle. We’ll soon find out what sort of adjustments were discussed during halftime. Stephen Curry having a dominant impact in this game. Yeah, tonight he’s done a great job of slashing through the lane and finishing. And you love that mindset he has going at the rim. He hasn’t settled for anything and he’s been the aggressor all game long. The Warriors lead by four. We’ve got Jimmy Butler. He’s out there with Stephen Curry. Draymond Green is out there with Al Horford. And it’s post in at the four spot. So that’s the group out there for Golden State. This is what Curry does best. He is so creative at getting into rhythm and staying hot. Outside Reeves. Pass to Aiden. He tries for three. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got rebound number seven tonight. Drives to the hoop. Here’s the three. And there’s Curry on the assist from Green. Green’s got three assists tonight. Man, they’re having a hard time defending the triples. That’s three in a row. Lakers trail by 10. Donic outside. [Applause] They set the pick and there’s James from the ark. Oh my goodness. He’ll go to the line with a chance at a four-point play. That’s on Al Horford. [Applause] Second half of basketball. Just over a minute played so far. Buries it down low. Give him eight points. Now something lit a fire under them at the half. They started this quarter going three for three from the floor. Here’s Lavia. Green covering back to Donic. Donic punches it home. Going on the attack. Luca doesn’t give them a chance to get between him and the rim. [Applause] The Warriors lead by seven. [Applause] Pass to Green. Here’s Post. The three is up and that one’s off. His fifth miss in 11 tries to the middle. The steel in transition. Green with the ball. Now guarded by Aiden. Okay, so they’ve looked energized and focused starting this half. coming out of the break making four out of their first five. [Applause] And now around two minutes gone by in this half. Pass to Aiden. It’s James on the wing. It’s rebounded by Golden State. [Applause] Left side green. Now here’s Curry. Launches a three, hits a three-pointer, and it’s a 12-point Warrior lead. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the arc right now. You see his confidence, and of course, it helps space the floor, which gives this offense more room to operate. Now, here’s Reeves. He’s got 14. Pass to Larabia. Puts up a three. The Lakers with another miss. Credit to him for trying to get that three right back. Missed the shot, but that’s a fighter’s mentality. Right side. Curry from downtown and Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got his fourth rebound in this one. Jimmy Butler with a rebound. The Warriors lead by 12. A little under three and a half minutes off the clock now in the third quarter. Outside Green just five to shoot the three and Aiden pulls it down. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for Los Angeles. Here’s the Rabia green covering. Dayton a screen on Green. Here’s Larabia and there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. That’s on Al Horford. Richard, how do you think you would have fared if social media was as prevalent in your younger years as it is right now? I can tell you right now, I would not be able to sit next to you right now, BA. That’s the type of life I would have lived. And the first one at the line is good. [Applause] And so he makes both from the line. The Warriors lead by 10. Curry with it. 26 points for him. Pass to Green. Curry against Donic. Down to five on the shot clock. Shakes him out to Horford from deep and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Horford’s got five now. Corner pocket. Oh, that’s no problem for Al Horford. Lakers trail by 13. Reeves the pass to Aiden. Now here’s Donic. He’s covered by Curry. Oh, Luca playing grown, man. Ball inside. And he’s doing everything he can offensively to lift them out of this hole, but I’m not sure his hot shooting can do it alone. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. Coach wants to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] And on the 2K leaderboard, the teams that have stonewalled offenses over the last month. Number five, the Warriors. The energy that they’re playing with on D has been tremendous the past month, challenging every shot, making things hard on every opponent. The Warriors lead by 11. Let’s go now to the sideline and catch up with Alli Leforce. Well, the slam dunk is arguably pro basketball’s signature play. And forward Nicholas Batum said, “Growing up, you have so much joy in dunking. You’re one of the few people in the world that can.” But father time marches on and like most vets, he’s come to grips with the reality. He said, “My body told me no more, bro.” Well, leave that to the youngsters now, right? All right, Ally. Thanks. [Applause] No good on that one. A vocal leader both on and off the floor. Green plays with a real fire in edge. He hits the second from the line. Lakers trail by 12. Now Donic, give him eight. Lets it go from deep. The Warriors pull it in. Green’s got rebound number eight now. And they’re plus five on the boards after that rebound. Post shot no good. And the defense got away with one there. I mean, that’s the shot he typically makes. Oh, nice shot by Donic. Using that change of pace off the dribble, Donic gets the shots he wants. For outside [Applause] and here’s Curry for three. He buries it from three. Curry’s got 12 points in just the second half. I love it. His love for the game couldn’t be more obvious. It helps him make a positive impact out on the court and it also keeps the bench fired up. Now here’s Reeves. 14 points for him. Back to Donic. Shoots over Curry again. Donic missing. The Warriors lead by 13. Floats one. Oh, rejected by Eightton. And so the ball out of bounds. Eighton tucks it last. It’s time to take a glance again at that superb block. Let’s see if that block can amp up this team. I mean, they’re looking for anything to get themselves going. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. [Applause] Off the inbound and Aiden pulls it down. Aton’s got four rebounds now. And even though he hasn’t been himself, it hasn’t affected his team too much. They’ve still got the lead. Pass to Larabia. Curry against Donic. Aton on Curry. Shot clock at five. The Luca three. Money. Encouraging to see Donic sink the three. Needs to keep doing this now. [Applause] Outside Moody. Here’s an eight-footer. That one a little long and James has got the ball here for the Lakers. Donic deciding where to go with it. Shoots from the right block and it’s good for two. Donic has got 11 points in the quarter. He’s doing everything he can. If they want to win, others have to step up and provide some scoring. [Applause] A shot from the mid-range down low. Butler drops it in. How talented is Butler? I mean, just so adept at carving out some space inside and converting. Donic passes to James. Here’s Larabia. He’s got five on the wing. Reeves. Pass to Labraia. And there’s James from the ark. Warriors with the rebound. Here’s Curry. And again, it’s Golden State. Making use of the in between area. Curry’s ability to break defenses down opens up these shots. James finds Donic. Here’s the Rabbia. Pass to Reeves and there’s the drive. Oh, another basket for him. He’s six of 11 now. Got to fight harder to get over those screens. Yeah, as soon as these guys build contact, they are just disappearing like they’re not even there. You got to show some fire and keep defending. The Warriors lead by 10. [Applause] Green in the post. James is there. The three from Curry. Oh, target from range. Curry’s got 34 points. And this has become expected from Curry. Everyone knows how dangerous he is at getting to his spots and capitalizing. Donic against Curry. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Great job drawing the foul and almost converted the shot as well. And now we’ll get a perspective here on how the hustle game has been going for the Warriors. Great heads up defensive play tonight, creating offensive opportunities for themselves by forcing deflections. Well, another major factor in the offensive performance was the fast break. Converting on those chances when they get them tonight and he can’t get the first one. And Donas is a walking triple double threat. His versatility and confidence is really special. Bush’s checked in for Horford and the Lakers also making a switch. Aimura’s checked in. And the second free throw is good. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. Now here’s Curry. He’s got 34. Outside Moody. Pass to Buché. Oh, Aiden with the block and it’s out of bounds. The Warriors able to retain possession here and the fans love seeing incredible moments on defense like that block. You know, you can’t ask for any better defense than that. He responded so fast to the shooter and it stifled him. [Applause] Shot clock at six. The fader and the Warriors tack on two more. A guy like Butler will do whatever he has to to find points. He always makes the effort out there on the floor. Outside Reeves. Back to Donic. Count it. Now eight for 13 with that basket. shooting a great clip in the second half. He made some nice adjustments in the locker room. The three from Curry. The Lakers with a rebound. Eightton’s got his fifth rebound in this one. Donic outside. A screen on Curry. And here’s Donic outside. And it’s Bush with the rebound. Bush’s got four rebounds now. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. Fearless play from Butler. Defenses should know he’s going to try and draw a foul while shooting. He’s got his first free throws of the night right here. [Applause] The first free throw is good. One of the toughest players in the NBA. No doubt Butler’s teammates love having him around. And some changes here for the Warriors. Jackson Davis comes in for Green and Pajki subbed in for Curry. Hayes is checked in for Los Angeles. Connect comes in for James. hits both from the stripe. Lakers trail by 14 outside. Reeves. Pass to Donic. Fades and shoots. And there’s another one for the Lakers. And he has been on fire this quarter in terms of his scoring. Hopefully that fire spreads to his other guys and they can rally. 152 left in the third quarter of the game. And here’s Jackson Davis. Bush outside to the paint. Jackson Davis a screen. Just five on the clock. Fires from deep and Reeves pulls it down. Well, the Lakers shooting a solid 47%. Here’s Aimura. Oh, and makes it with the kiss. Aimura’s got 10. It’s interesting. They definitely had more three-point attempts in the first half. Not sure why they went away from it. 119 left to play in the third quarter of basketball. [Music] Reeves brings a double back to Pajki and he jams it after taking the nice feed on the run. When you talk wings, Butler is a top-notch passer. He has a great understanding of the game. 105 left in the third and Reeves has got the ball here for Los Angeles. Pass to Aimura. Aimura sets a screen. Donic outside and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Jackson Davis picks one up. And you can’t let Donets get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That’s good from Donic. They’re finding a rhythm from the line as they try to cut into this deficit. Larabi has checked in for the Lakers. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. He’s upped his aggressiveness, wanting to get to the line more and doing just that. Bush a screen on Reeves. Bush outside, fires for three. It’s hauled in by Luca Donuch. Donic has got five rebounds in the game. Out to the right wing is Labia. Good on the shot and that shaves the lead to single digits. Labia’s got eight. Oh, you expect Ruie to finish that play, but when a guy is this open, he makes a quality pass. About 3 seconds between the shot clock and the game clock. Count that one. Yeah, showing a little versatility with their offensive attack. In the first half, it was about the three ball. In the second half, they’ve emphasized interior scoring from deep. Here’s Donic. And Los Angeles, another three. And when he puts it all together, look at the kind of night Luca can have. Wow. Fires the three. That one is off. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors leading by six as we wrap up the quarter. They’ve been lights out from deep. And it’s a big reason why they have a lead in this one. We’re coming right back. Don’t go anywhere. And it’s time to bring up the State Farm assist of the game. He’s always near the top of the list for this honor. I mean, passes like these are his specialty. That is why is a point guard in this league. He has the elite passing ability, the vision. You need both to play the point guard. And with these teams locked in a very close contest, this fourth quarter promises to be a good one. On the court for the Lakers to start the fourth, they’ve got James Marcus Smart out there with Gabe Vincent. Then it’s Ruachimura and it’s Larabia and at the small forward position. Here’s Pimsky. That one no good. Smart with the defensive effort. Lakers trail by six. James finds Himura and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. Oh, if you’re a defender, you got to be careful when it comes to guarding Hachimura. He is clever at getting contact. shooting two. [Applause] First one falls for him. If they want to come away with a victory, they just need to keep knocking down those free throws. [Applause] [Applause] and both free throws good for Aimura. [Applause] The Warriors lead by four. [Applause] And here’s Pajki. Takes the three. knocks down the long J. That right there, that’s the kind of look this system is designed to create. It’s Smart on the wing. He’s covered by Curry to the inside and it’s slammed in by Aimura. Oh, what a finish. Rury showing off that athletic ability. The Warriors shooting at a respectable 49%. Pass to Bush. [Applause] Outside Curry 43. Henson grabs a miss. Lakers trail by five. Aimura outside. Off target from three-point range. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in this quarter. Now here’s Curry. Inside. Oh, it’s stolen by Aimura. And here comes the break. And he loves it up. Yes, sir. LeBron James making it look easy. LeBron James. Oh, man. Can still get up with the alley hoop finish. The Warriors lead by three. Pass to Jackson Davis left side. Moody sinks that one from the post. When guys are moving the ball, sharing it, it makes the game so much more fun both as a player and as a fan. Smart looking around. Now James. Yes. And the foul. Trace Jackson. Davis picks one up. They are passing the ball around tremendously right now. And the Warriors making a change here. Green has checked in. [Applause] And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for the Warriors. They’ve led by as many as 14. Green. A screen outside. Pajki. Pass to Green. The game of Green. It’s about testing the defense, finding their weak spots. [Applause] And he drops a first. And both free throws good for Green. Lakers trail by four. James deciding where to go with it. Gets the three ball to go. James has got 11 points here in the second half. This is his second three this half. He’s getting even more bold at that arc. Moody passes to Green. Bush with it. This one for three. Rejected by James. And Braun with the blocks. Like the shooters are working hard, but he is all over them. [Applause] Moody on the wing. Aimura covering. Pass to Pajimsky. Here’s Curry from outside the ark. Burries it from three. Curry’s got 37. When Curry gets a look that’s good, he is automatic. There is almost no stopping him. Well, if you’re just tuning in, welcome. We’ve played about three and a half minutes into the fourth quarter here. And he drives in. Labia passes to Aimura. Here’s Larabia. Moody defends. It’s stolen by Green all alone on the break. Draymond finishing himself. Love watching Green do it all himself. Starts with the steal and rewards himself for the hustle. And so it’s the Lakers with it. James finds Achimura. [Applause] Vincson outside for three. James the shot won’t fall. The Warriors lead by six. [Applause] Right side. Curry. Curry from inside. They’re in strong position coming down the stretch and he is a big reason why the Lakers have gone four of seven from the field in the fourth quarter. Here’s James Mur from long range. The shots good on the assist by James. James has got four assists in the game. You have to pay attention to Hachimura no matter where he is. Golden State has gone two of four from the perimeter here in the fourth quarter. Now here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Vincent. Curry no good. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. AI Merurl from long range. Pajimsky grabs the board. Leading by five. Pass to Curry. And here is Green Aimura covering. And it’s Green missing for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten five shots out of nine to go in this fourth. And the foul is called. He missed it. So he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. It goes on Brandon Pajimki. [Music] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] No good on that one. And some changes here for the Warriors. Or he’s checked in for Bucher. And Jimmy Butler is subbed in for Pajimski. [Applause] And he sinks the second. Just a tough miss at the line. They’re down two baskets now. Curry against Donic. Pass to Horford. Three-pointer and the Warriors miss again. Lakers trail by four. To the paint, unloads. Orford with some nice deeds. And the defense was all over him once he got in close. Didn’t want him to get too comfortable. Here’s Green right wing. Oh, it’s stolen by Donic. Now the Lakers moving it up. Luca with the finish. A terrific fullcourt effort from Donic. The moment he got the ball, he just takes off. Golden State has gone two of six so far in the fourth. Pass to Curry. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. First one falls. And some consider Curry to be the greatest shooter of all time. And by some, I mean all. And he is capable of getting hot in a hurry. LeBron, he’s checked in for Vincent. And so Curry nails both of them. And collectively as the game has progressed, they’ve been shooting really well from the charity strike. Donic passes to Aiden. Anticipated the pass. It’s a turnover. Butler gets all the way to the cup. Part of why Butler has been to so many All-Star games. He recognizes offensive situations so well. Completes the break. Lakers trail by six. Here’s Aiden. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That’s on Al Horford. Shooting two. And he knocks down the first one. A double double machine who can also block shots. You won’t find many centers with Aiden’s size and talent. Aiden hits them both. It’s always nice to see a big fella be able to knock down some free throws and make teams pay from the line. Curry against Donic. Pass to post. [Applause] And here is Green three-pointer. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Donic has got seven rebounds in the game. It hasn’t been his best game, but his team is still doing just enough to be up. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will have it. I’m not sure what happened there. You just can’t give away possessions in this league. And Los Angeles making a change here. Labia has checked in. Here’s Curry. Oh, got a piece of it. And the ball goes out of bounds. Last touch by Donic. Just a superb read on defense to come up with a block. What a powerful rejection. He’s not wanting them to get an advantage in this competitive game. [Applause] And Curry’s got the ball here for the Golden State Warriors. Six on the shot clock. Pass to post and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry’s got four assists now tonight and looking to shoot as many threes as possible. This kind of confidence impressive to see. Lakers trail by seven. Down low. Oh, and the jam by Aton. What a dunk from Aton. This is how dominant he can be down low. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. [Applause] Tries the nine-footer. Rebound by the Lakers. Donic outside shoots over Horford and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Post has got his eighth rebound here tonight. Pass to Greenish. Screen by Horford. Just five to shoot. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. That one’s off. He hits the second from the line. Lakers trail by six. Outside Reeves. Donic on the wing from down in the low post it goes. Donic has got four points now in the quarter. This is not the same guy we saw in the first half. Credit him for finding a way to shake off those first two quarters. Donic against Curry. Screen by Horford. Puts up a deep three and Reeves pulls it down. for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten eight of 14 shots to drop so far here in the fourth quarter. Pass to James. Back to Reeves. Clock at six. Aiden finds the bottom from 13 ft out. And now it’s just a two-point Warrior lead. This is why they give Aiden the ball in these spots. They trust him and his ability to deliver. And Steve Cerr calls timeout. Coach clearly has something he wants to say to his team right now. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] We are [Applause] gives us a chance to catch up with Ally Leforce. During that break, coach Steve Kerr had some advice for the team. Confidence is what he’s asking for right now. He said, quote, “When it’s close, we have to keep believing in ourselves. And if we don’t think we can pull it out, we’ve already lost.” So, some strong words from coach in the huddle. Back to you, Brian. Ally, thank you. Lakers on D. Pass to post. Horford with it. Stolen by Aton. Fast break. Here we go. And it’s James with the jam. How many times have we seen LeBron hit a huge bucket in its career? I don’t know. I’ve lost count. But that was beautiful to watch. And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for Golden State. Now Green from the arc. Jimmy Buckets with the tray. This is Jimmy Buckets at his best. Rising to a challenge and delivering for his team. Lakers trail by three. Outside Reeves back to Donic. Donic is doubled. Reeves. The pass to Arabia. Clock at four. Donic outside. Fires the three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Boy, he’s getting it done. Pass to Curry. fires from the line and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got his sixth rebound on the night. There’s the three and that one’s good. Labia, the selfless attitude of James. When someone on his team has a clean look, look, he feeds him. [Applause] There’s a minute 34 left in the fourth quarter. Curry against Dotic. [Applause] Good on the first and that gives him a lead. [Applause] Second one is good. Getting both at the line and it’s a two-point ball game. Free throw shooting comes into focus in tight games as usual. He’s up to the task. Out to James and the go-ahead bucket. No good. It’s tough to get open in this league and when you do, it hurts not to capitalize. Here’s Curry. Takes the 12-footer and hits it. Curry’s got 45 points. Once again, Curry. This man has made a living out of big shots like this one. Here’s Donic. And it’s in. And he’s brought them within two points now. And great to see guys who don’t back down under pressure. He knew what they needed here and was determined to deliver. Now Los Angeles with it to take the lead and nails the tray. Some players shrink when the pressure’s on, but he lives for these moments. 43 seconds left in the final quarter. Curry from deep three-point land. Tried to come right back with a three of his own, but it’s no good. Pass to Donic. There’s the triple. The shots good on the assist by James. And from the moment he steps into the lead, Luca’s been a big time player. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. The pressure is on and he’s got a plan to share with his guys. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] outside. Green 4 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Curry cash and he’s brought him within two points. Now when it is crunch time and you’ve got Stephen Wardell Curry, the game plan is simple. Get him the ball. And so they choose to intentionally foul. Yeah. No, you had to do that. I mean, you can’t allow them to dribble out the time. [Applause] He drops the first one and that makes it a three-point lead. [Applause] So, he gets them both and it’s a four-point ball game. Well, they wanted every last one of those and he delivered, making it a two-possession game. The three from Curry and Aiden pulls it down. And they stop the clock as soon as they can with the intentional foul. Shooting two. He hits the first one and that puts him up five. And so he drops them both and it’s a six-point ball game. When you’ve got your opponent down, don’t let them up. This one’s all but over. A deep three. That shot missing. So, it’s Los Angeles picking up the win and they barely squeezed out the win here on the road. NBA, the visiting team is always under some added pressure, but they made it work and got the win, whatever the margin may have been. All right, Alli’s ready to go. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. LeBron, that was an impressive win. What did it take to get it done tonight? It’s a really good team that we’re playing. They’re very resilient just like us. They play together. They play hard. They play tough. So, we had to bring that fight tonight. You brought it. It paid off. Congrats. Thanks, Ally. Great interview once again. And that’ll do it, folks. For Grant Hill, Richard Jefferson, and Ally Leforce, this is Brian Anderson. Thanks for watching the NBA presented by 2K Sports.
