But Evan Sery uh put out a tweet and he said the Hawks not offered Trey Young contract extension per Mark J. Spears. Y’all probably heard that uh via of U ESPN, but Trey Young is pretty disappointed that he hasn’t received a contract extension, and I don’t blame him. And he’s currently eligible for a 4-year, $229 million deal. Uh but Atlanta is not willing to discuss it yet, and that’s pretty sad, man. And he can become a free agent in 2026. And um I feel like if it gets to that point, I feel like he could be on the way out because he has options, man. And quite right so. He’s a fourtime NBA Allstar. He’s put up great numbers in his career, man. Uh his career average is 25 points, uh 9.8 assist, and he’s shooting 35% from three-point range. Um now, a lot of people question his defense, which I understand. And you know, he’s not the biggest of guys, but you got to understand he’s a natural size point guard. Because when you talk about guys like Isaiah Thomas, um guys like John Stockton, like natural point guards, uh Steph Curry, uh you talk about what 62, 63 at the most. Uh so he’s about what 6 feet 61. Yeah, he’s a little bit undersized, but at the same time, uh he brings a game in and game out and he’s uh evolving every single season, man. And I’m telling y’all, uh, if you look at his number the last three years, uh, as far as assists, he’s averaged double digits in assists the last three years. Um, and he led the NBA, uh, in assist last year, uh, while also averaging 25 points. Uh, but this is going to get crazier and crazier as time goes on. And, uh, honestly, um, if they do lose in for nothing, I think it’s bad bad management by the Atlanta Hawks. And the crazy thing is, man, when they made these signs this off season, u they drafted in the draft, he’s always been front and center on the TV. And Will, does did that kind of, you know, lead us the wrong way? I think it did because at that point, I thought things were getting better, but they were absolutely the same. So there is a post out about odds of where he could end up and there are six teams that uh they think had the best shot of being his next team. Orlando Magic or this by Bvado official betting website. Uh, the Orlando Magic plus 250, Brooklyn Nets plus 290, Sacramento plus 375, and that’s not a surprise because they lost De’Aran Fox. So, I could see him in Sacramento. And the crazy thing is he has a home in Los Angeles. So, when you think about that as far as proximity to another home, when you talk about players and where they live, they would love to play wherever close to where they live. and he’s from Oklahoma, so I think uh he would not be opposed to going back out west with Phoenix Suns 4 plus 450. Um I could see him team with Devin Booker uh because I actually said I would love to see Devin Booker with the Hawks. Uh Houston Rockets who have a team and we know they just got Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant and Trey Young are very good friends and the Miami Heat with plus 700. Miami is rebuilding. So, I pretty much couldn’t see that one going because uh I think Trey is a type talent. He needs to end up with a contender. And the crazy thing, the team out of these six, I feel like the Orlando Magic is the best fit because of the young talent that they have. Him and um Beno um would be a nice uh one two punch. And as I tell y’all, point guard need that big man. and Berro would be a nice fit with Trey Young and Orlando and they could build around those two players and they already have young talent. They actually uh played very well last year. Uh but Atlanta is not off a Trey Young contract, man. I’m kind of puzzled by it, but man, tell me what y’all think. Drop those comments. Let’s debate.
