Nikola Jović Meeting Miami Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra’s Challenge In Serbia Win Over Greece?
Hey, welcome on in guys to here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you’re doing well there. If you guys could subscribe that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. So, uh tuned in today to Serbia taking on Greece. Been watching some international basketball with your Miami Heat having several representatives around the world. Last night Norman Powell played against Barbados. Pretty uh you know coasting performance by Norman Powell. Not one where he was exactly lighting the world on fire. and not one where he exactly had to uh was you know of course getting to know his teammates. They trained a little bit in uh in Boca Raton to get ready for their game as their qualifying. This was a prep game for Euro Basket which is going to get going in the latter part of August and this was supposed to be this big time matchup between Serbia and Greece. A little friendly international game. Giannis had to koopo though much to uh Serbia’s coach coach Pesich his uh uh you know disappointment did not play in this game. We got all takos except for the anto everybody wanted to see and so instead of getting Nicola Joic and Greek Freak couple of MVPs going at it uh we did not. and uh Joker. Man, I got to tell you something. Going to get to Yovic here in a second because we’re all we’re here for one thing and one thing alone obviously on this channel. Uh this is not a Denver Nuggets usually covering channel other than my frustration of them as a franchise always seeming to get the better of the Heat. Uh we’re here for one thing and one thing alone and that is Yoic, dude. And there is Yovic stuff to discuss even though this was not like the the biggest game in the world from him. Interesting ending to the game which I do think ties into some things that Eric Sper had to say. But I want to I got to I got to just talk about the three-time MVP for a second because Joker in this game played 26 minutes. His numbers 23 points, 19 rebounds. I believe he had a double double in like 15 minutes in this game. um he is everything for that team. But the thing that I found interesting about this, so many people are making a big deal this summer about uh Luca Donuch getting into shape. And I saw articles that Luca is down from like 230 to 200 and that he’s like cut his body fat like way down. And he obviously looks incredible. Joker, I think, has also gotten himself into better shape in past years, but in this game looked like he literally rolled off of the horse track to come and play this game. And if I was Luca Dodic, I would be so frustrated that everybody talks about me and the health that I have to get into because you look at this behemoth and nobody gives a rat’s ass whether he has a carb, beers, how many crunches he can do, whether he looks good with his shirt off. This guy is the most dominant basketball player in the world. He toyed with Greece. It was embarrassing for Greece. They could do nothing with him. And he just does everything with such ease and such comfort and just nothing feels like it is strenuous to him and you can do nothing. It’s it really is like a monster taking on humans. It really is something to watch this guy play basketball. And obviously, you know, him being on this team may not mean that uh we’re ever going to get the the big production offensively from Nicole Yovic. Um but I do think, you know, Nico did some really really our Nico did some really really good things today. First of all, he comes out of the gate guns blazing, hits a couple of threes, gets himself on the board, get it was the first quarter of this game was the best played, and then it really hit the skids. Um, and Nico ends up finishing today with nine points, five rebounds, one assist. He was three of seven from the field, one of uh I think he was two of three from downtown. Got a free throw in there. Um, you know, so did a little bit of everything. Nobody really did any scoring for Serbia, mind you. 76 total points. Nobody really did anything for Serbia that wasn’t Nicola Yo uh Joic. Um Bdon Bogdanovich had nine. Nobody else was in double digits. Nico had nine points. Uh Aramovic hit a huge three late after Greece was kind of making a comeback. They started lighting up a bunch of threes from downtown. Um but mind you, these guys have played I I I I want everybody to realize these guys are playing. This is their third game together. This is the first one televised that they played together. Much like Norman Pal yesterday, that was the first game that those guys have played together. Even though a lot of these guys have played, you know, these are familiar faces if you guys have been following World Cup Olympics. So, a lot of these guys are uh you know, familiar with each other. But, Yoic today uh did get the start. He uh he did go out there and he um was one of coach Pes’s starters for this game along with Bogdan Bongdanovich and the Joker. And um you know I thought there was a there was a point where him and Joker got taken out and Joker was in a little bit of foul trouble and so they put Yic back in and he was kind of just like throwing flying all over the place flying everywhere. a lot of great second uh chances getting his teammates involved. So, I thought that he looked good. The one thing that I would say if Eric Spolstra is watching this game, if you guys don’t recall, Eric Spolstra did have a challenge to Nico with this and this was to play in the quote moments of truth that he wants Nico to go out there and play in the moments of truth. Make that coach play you. And that did not necessarily happen today uh at the end of this game. I believe Nico, you know, he came out, I want to say there was about about a little before clutch time. Now, mind you, he had played most of the second half, so I don’t know if that was a a question of this is a friendly, they’re monitoring his minutes. There could be a lot of other reasons for it. It certainly wasn’t that he was playing poorly. Um, I was wondering when when Greece was making their comeback, would he get back in there, but uh that did not ultimately happen. But uh the one thing that I was curious about was um you know him not playing down the stretch. That was one of those things where uh Eric Spolstra did challenge Nico when in Vegas. The last two summers have been really good because it’s been a um a strong balance of the Miami Heat player development program and then going to play for his national team. I think that’s helped his maturity uh because it it means a a whole lot to that team and every player and every coaching staff. You can’t just go in there like casual. Um so I think that’s been as important as the stuff we’ve been doing. Um and I think this summer they have big expectations and um you know the first year he was a token starter on the world championships and then any moments of truth he wasn’t playing. Coaches will play who they think can help you win. Last year he was probably the eighth or ninth 10th man biggest stage. So my challenge to him was break in the rotation. Make that uh Hall of Fame coach earn your trust. Um, and it’s all the consistency, it’s the winning things, it’s your approach. Um, that’s no different than here. I I love the fact that he’s playing for that coach who’s very demanding. Um, but uh Nico had a really good uh June and late May. He’s put on some strength, too. He’s just going to come back looking different. You know, every year he comes back stronger, bigger. Uh I’m excited uh about um you know, his improvement. There you go. That was Eric Spolstra back in July. Spetzlaf Pesich, the Serbian coach. Uh, yeah, did not have him in clutch time, but he was third in minutes overall today. And again, he did have a string there in the second half where he was playing a lot of consistent minutes. I’m sure that when things were getting dicey, you know, perhaps you would have wanted, but again, friendly. They’ve just started playing. I’m sure that he knows he has a responsibility also to uh Nico and the Miami Heat to to not run him into the ground either. Um but overall like you know got off to a very hot start. It was not a big time scoring game today if your name was not uh Nicola Joic but Nicole Yoic uh started off hitting some threes got on the fast break. Got a nice fast brace break bucket. um you know didn’t get you know it’s not like he’s he was getting a ton of looks either. I mean this this this team and their engine like really does go through that big man. I mean and and you know this is this is a team that is the favorite to win that championship. This is also not some like cutesy little thing where he’s out here and you know it’s like oh boy you know they’re not some uh some afterthought in the in the championship either. So, this is one that they definitely wanted to go get. Um, but it is cool to uh to see him back in action there, seeing this uh this Serbian team go out there and uh and get uh this victory. Even though we did not get to see Greek Freak in action with this one as well. I believe Pella Larson plays tomorrow. I believe is when uh they are in action. I believe we will get to see Sweden play uh play a little bit. And it looks like Jamaica also plays tomorrow. They play Mexico. So we got Norman Pal in action. I believe uh I believe Pella Larson will be in action as well. So get a couple more guys going. But uh Yovic dude get himself a win today with uh a little nine and five for Serbia over Greece.
Tobin reacts to Serbia’s win over Greece in a friendly. Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play. Nikola Jokić dominated….but we’re here for one man and one man only, Jović Dude! Did Niko meet Erik Spoelstra challege of being a part of the rotation? He was third on the team in minutes scoring 9 points with 5 rebounds but didn’t close in the last 5+ Minutes. However it was likely due to how much he played in the 2nd half. Good start for Serbia as they attempt to win Eurobasket later this month.

Kinda mad the marlins lost today but at least there’s a lil good heat news thx for always staying on point with the updates bruh
Someone needs to challenge Spo to run a better offense in substitution!
Jovic looked a little lost out there… looks 22. Hopefully he doesn’t lose his starting spot on team Serbia 😬
Niko wasnt the issue in today's game. He made the shots he needed to and the passes he needed to as well. He is legit the 3rd option on the roster for Serbia, so wtf do ppl want him to do? just demand the ball when hes playing with Joker on the floor? 😂 Tobin you gotta use ur thinking Cap my boy. Niko played well. that's all that matters.
Now Fontecchio … looking like a superstar… a role player in the NBA but he carried Italy against Sabonis, Porzingis, & Bertans. It was impressive
Niko was the 3rd option, took 7 shots and had 9 pts, 5rebs, 1a, 1 stl, 0 to's, & 0 pf's. In a international friendly. I'd say, based on what I saw, that he played well. A dummy took the time to write that he looked lost! 😂 I mean he was camped outat the 3pt line for most of the offensive possesions so nothing to be lost about there. He played better than Joker (thats not saying much i know 😂) defensively. So ppl just need to create narratives to run with Spo's BS. I swear it seems like niko has to slap Joker and Bogdan to get more shots in order to make ppl happy. 😂
jokic is a center not a point guard thats why no one cares. few years ago people use to joke about jokic always being out of breath
Jovic is the key to Miami having a miserable season or being an exciting team heading into next off-season.
Since you definitely don't know European basketball and the way the Serbian national team prepares, I have to explain to you that there are currently 17 players in the national team, and only 12 will participate in the European Championship. Accordingly, all players will get a chance in different matches and in different fives on the field at this moment. Today, before the game, they had a training session, and that has been the rule for almost 30 years in our national team in the preparatory period. Since we are always an extremely weak national team in all types of competitions, our preparations last until the quarterfinals of the competition itself. Start following Nikola Jovic's game from the third game in the championship and believe that he will play better and better every next game until the final. Our national team is timing the form on the upward path to the semi-finals. At the moment, they are still in fitness training and the rotations themselves are not important. Training is important and that no one gets injured like Vasilije Micic did. Most of the players, as well as Nikola Jokic himself, joined the national team 6 days ago and had their first training session. I hope that I have helped you with this information so that you can follow the further development of the situation from the right angle and have a better insight into what to pay attention to and when. Greetings from Serbia and much success in creating a new Miami team and in your further work
