De’Aaron Fox Signs MASSIVE Extension with Spurs!
Yo, y’all gonna stop coming in my live talking about this Victor dude. Bro, we hooping this here. Y’all going to see. [Music] All right, team. Today we have some very exciting news. As y’all can see on the screen, this Sham’s post right here. Breaking. San Antonio Spurs star De’arren Fox has agreed to a 4-year $229 million maximum contract extension with the franchise. Clutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN, “The Max deal secures Fox’s future in San Antonio through the 2029 2030 season.” So, look, off the rip, I’m going just say I’m very excited with this deal to secure Fox and Wamby’s long-term running mate. I think this contract is welld deserved. I know some people are on Twitter saying that this is a overpay or that it’s a bad contract, and I I don’t really think they know what they’re talking about. Like, just scrolling down here, the next Bradley Beal, lol. That’s a bad deal. Massive overpay. The first bad move the Spurs have made in a while. And I don’t think that’s a bad deal. I think this is a very good deal. And it’s welldeserved for De’Arren Fox. I mean, there are people or there was people saying, “Get WMY help. Get Wii a star. WBY needs a star next to him.” So, what do you expect whenever you get a player of De’Aran Fox’s caliber? This is the same guy averaging 25 with a torn ligament in his finger, dropping 60, all NBA caliber, allstar caliber. and now he has a running mate in Victor Wanyama. I mean, I think this is a second star type of contract just going into the NBA nowadays. So, if you’re worried about this contract, don’t be at all. And if anything, they they timed it up perfectly. And if they have to make some decisions in the future, then so be it. But, I mean, with when Fox’s contract is coming up to an end, that’s when you’re going to be able to extend Dylan Harper. So, if you had to choose between the two, you have room to do so. You also got three more years on Stefon Castle’s deal. Victor Wimbinyama has I think one or two more years. I actually believe it is two more years. So, they have some time. They have time to play with because a lot of their players are on rookie contracts. You can see how things play out. But, nonetheless, I do not think this is a overpay at all. And shout out to Evan Cedri for posting this on X. Dear Fox’s annual salary over his new 4-year extension with the Spurs in 2627, which is not this year, but the next year after that, he’ll be making 51 million. After that, 55 to 59 and then 63. San Antonio locks in Fox officially as Victor Womenyama’s long-term sidekick. And this right here is crazy. I mean, it’s a little funny, but that that’s not true at all. And I mean, people are laughing, but like this comment says right here, Devin Booker got a $75 million extension. So, what are we really talking about? And so taking a look at some other NBA players contracts and comparing it to De’Aran Fox’s. As I said, he will be making 51 million in 2026 27 and some players who will be making around that in that year. 26-27 just to name one. Start off a aging Jimmy Butler. He will be making $56 million that season. Jaylen Brown, who’s not even the best player on his team, will be making $57 million. Devin Booker 57 million, but like I said, he’s got that $75 million extension, so he’s going to be the highest paid player in the league. Carl Anthony Towns will still be making more than De’ar Fox. Paul George, aging Paul George is making 54 million. And then De’ar Fox will squeeze right in between Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. He’ll still be making around the same money as Zack Lavine, Evan Mobley, Jamal Murray. You’re telling me you wouldn’t play or pay one more million for De’Aran Fox over Jamal Murray? Lorie Markin is getting paid 46 million. Donovan Mitchell 50 million. And I mean, I think he was due for a payday. He was only getting paid 37 million. The 41st most expensive player in the league. So, that’s why I say I think this contract was welld deserved. You go on to the next season, 2728, 55 million. Paul George will still be making more money than him. and he’s just around the the price range of a Evan Mobley, Jamal Murray, Lori Markin type player. I mean, even OG Anobi gets paid $42 million next season or I mean in the 26 27 season. So that’s just the the nature of the NBA, these contracts are going to keep going up. But if you really think about it and compare this contract to all the players you see right here, it doesn’t look as bad or it really doesn’t look bad at all. And so if you think that his contract is still an overpay after looking and comparing the contract to other players, I think you’re undervaluing Fox and overall just underestimating what he can bring to the table. Like I said, he is a allNBA caliber player, all all-star type of player. And so for his contract to be around these players right here, I I think that’s very fitting. I think it’s welld deserved. And not not at all do I think that is a overpay. And so on to our next post. Going back to when the OKC Thunder extended, Cadet Homegrren, and JDub, look how much they paid their big three. If you have high caliber players, you’re going to have to pay them. Jub got a 5-year rookie max extension worth $287 million. Now, if you do the math, 287 divided by 5, that’s around 57 mil a year. And that’s kind of similar to De’Aran Fox’s contract. And so when you really look at it, they really gave De’arren Fox the secondary star contract. And say what you want about uh Steph Castle, Dylan Harper, I love those players, too. But next season, they will not be better than De’ar Fox. And that’s just the harsh reality. I think we’re going to see highlevel play from De’Arren Fox and he could very well be allNBA and I think he will be an all-star as long as the Spurs are in playoff contention. It’s going to be a very big season for the Spurs. So, I think them securing Fox just signals to WBY that they really want to win and they’re bought into this timeline, excuse me, timeline. But for some people to be complaining, I think that’s like very reactionary and not really looking at the the details of the contract. I mean, yes, he did get paid. I’m not going to sit here and say the Spurs fleeced him, but what else do you expect? Whenever you ask for a star, you’re going to have to pay them star money. As you can see with the team like OKC, they gave Chad a bag, they gave JDub a bag, and then Shay is going to be getting a huge bag. So, that’s just what it is. Whenever you have solid, really great players on your team, you’re going to have to pay them. But with that being said, I I’ll leave it off by saying this was not an overpay. Do not worry. I think this was welld deserved. But let me know y’all’s comments down below in the comments section. As always, it has been your boy Chris. Y’all be sure to leave a like and I’ll catch y’all next time. I’m out. [Music]

can fox live up to his contract the same way vassel lived up to his???🤔
Fox finna be different this season 😈🔥
I like your content, but this clearly an overpay and it does hinder our financial flexibility once Castle's rookie extension kicks in. I am happy to have Fox in San Antonio but a great deal would have been a 3 year max extension to time the roster finances better. Either way I guess it is a good problem to have and it isn't likely to hinder the finances until year 3 and beyond of his extension. As well we could also look to trade him once Castle and Harper start to hit their rookie extensions.
Who's the shooting guard? Castle or Harper! Or does Harper come off the bench as 6th man…. aka Manu Ginobili.
Is the fourth year guaranteed or void?
The spurs have Bradley-Bealed their way into a corner. Now they have to let go of 2 really good players in 2027
Fox is ready to win! This move is amazing, if we have some tuff calls to make down the road it will most likely be because we are suffering from success! I think the moves the spurs have made show they are ready to start really pushing to win now and get wemby that playoff experience. If we can lock in on defense and if one or two of our sketchy shooters can have a breakout year (and or Carter Bryant fully elevates to his spot up 3 potential 🥹) we can potentially shock the League! maybe even steal a chip before we have to reload the core contracts.
6th seed. Mark my words
I dont think he got overpaid compared to others, i think all of these giys who arent mvp caliber players shouldnt be making max money. I just feel like the max should be reserved for guys like wemby, doncic, giannis, etc.
Remember when he scammed his own fans for a few million? Says alot about a person.
I’m glad a lot of people are shitting on it, fox gonna come out and shut them folk up! The new era starts now. GSG!!
People forget Fox was scoring between 25-27 pts per game just a year ago 😂 I think his range was more of a 4 year $200 mil deal but like Chris said, he’s better than a ton of dudes making about the same as him. Also how often do we make mistakes? Gotta trust the front office. They’ve built this plan since the year we tanked for Wemby. They know what they’re doing GSG
I am man enough to admit I was wrong about De'Aaron Fox. I regret I was hoping (against hope?) that Fox was not just another "gangsta" wanting his "bag". Turns out he was.
Disappointed, but if this max signing means Keldon and also Vassell's bloated extension is gone soon, then that's the bright side.
Hopefully Fox and mitch Johnson can get us to promise land this year 🙏 with healthy season Hopefully mitch learn from last year and starts with fox castle julian jeremy and wemby bring dylan devin kj barnes and kornet off bench solid 10 man rotation also gives dylan alot talent to play around with plus gives devin green light in second unit…devin kj and barnes can average 20 points on bench dylan can still win rookie of the year 💯🙏17 points and 7 assist 2 steals 1 block easy 28-32 min

Mannn, that is a tremendous amount of money!!!!
Hopefully, that total amount of money, each of the next 4 years, De'Aaron Fox will be receiving….. will result in excellent play each day or night on the court and especially, help the Spurs win the NBA Championship in a couple years. #GSG
I agree with you Chris this is not an overpay. Now when his second contract is due and he's asking for another max then yes overpay but that's still a long ways away so no overpay rn. I think his contract could be the door opening for them to move off Devins contract. Now IMO Devin is now overpayed. He's getting payed starting guard money and it's going to be hard for him to keep Harper, Castle, and Carter on the bench. These young guys are coming for his spot. That's why my feeling on Devin is the sooner we can move off his contract the better. The more flexibility we'll have in resigning Jeremy.
