This is a STEAL…
This is an absolute steal for the Chicago Bulls as there has been a lot of discourse on who is next to get traded with fans being split on who they want to see get moved and what the package they want to get back is. But recently we have seen a lot of trade rumors surrounding a few different players. And now we have a trade that is a steal. If the Chicago Bulls pull this off, there absolutely has to be more discourse around what a beautiful move this would be by Arturus Carnosovas. And let’s break it all down. What’s up, guys? Welcome back to Bulls Digest. It’s Chris here. We’re going to jump right into things. As always, if you guys are part of that 76% that’s not subscribed to Bulls Digest, make sure to subscribe for daily Chicago Bulls updates. We got a lot of great videos coming at you guys and you do not want to miss out. So, make sure to be subscribed with those post notifications on. and let’s jump into the video because we’re all sitting and waiting for Arturus Koshovas to make a move for this team. Some of the players on this squad fit perfectly for the what the Bulls are doing which is finally rebuilding. I mean, you got you have pieces that make sense and some guys who definitely should be traded. Obviously, the number one guy who comes to mind is Vu, but we’ve talked a lot about Vu getting traded and now it does feel like a buyout is more likely. So, there has been no shortage in fans moving to who they want to see get moved next and that is Patrick Williams. Since being drafted fourth overall by the Bulls, Patrick Williams has just been a massive disappointment. Now, it’s not like he’s an unusable, unplayable player by any means. He’s an NBA level talent, but the Bulls selected fourth overall, and this was a miss. A lot of Bulls fans truly did believe, by the way, I thought this was a terrible pick as well, that it should have been Tyrese Hallebertton. And this is not revisionist history. There was so much discussion on, oh, Lonzo’s out for an extended period of time. We don’t know when Lonzo is going to be back. this guy and Tyresese Hallebertton plays very similarly to Lonzo Ball in a couple ways specifically the playmaking something this team desperately desperately needs around Zack Lavine Demar De Rozan and Nicole Vuch. So what’ the Bulls do? They went and drafted another wing/forward which was not a necessity for the team. Yeah, they could have used another power forward, don’t get me wrong, but this was just not the move. And a lot of fans instantly agreed that this was going to be a bad idea for the Bulls. And now we’re seeing a world where he actually can get moved. And with all the discourse following this, it was mentioned by Sports Illustrated that the Phoenix Suns could be looking looking for a forward after expressing interest in Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kaminga. However, the Suns are moving off Kaminga and they could look to set their sights on someone else. Bleacher Report writer Zack Buckley listed Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams, a former top five pick, as someone who could and likely will be on the trade block very soon. Now, Buckley said about this, “It doesn’t take much imagination to see Patrick Williams comfortably and capably holding a 3 and D role, but that would still make him a massive disappointment in Chicago. Even if fans are much more pessimistic about PEL than the front office, they’d still like to see a better return in the franchise’s significant investments in him.” Now, also, Buckley said, “Get him away from the Bulls, and those expectations should be alleviated since he’s almost certainly a negative trade asset at his point. rival clubs may be incentivized to take him off their hands. The weighty pressure to perform would be off his shoulders and he may not be asked to do more than dig in defensively and shoot from distance skills that he’s already showcased at this level. So, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding Patrick Williams already. And the Suns are listed as a team that makes sense and the reason for this is pretty simple. The Suns, guys, we all know it. The Suns have 60 million shooting guards on their team. Whether it’s Devin Booker, Dylan Brooks, Jaylen Green, Grayson Allen, they just drafted one in the second round as well. Kobe Brea, they all they have a bunch of good scoring shooting guards and not much else on their team outside of two guys who both started last season with the Charlotte Hornets as a center. That’s basically their whole roster and Royce O’Neal. So, with that in mind, the Suns, this team doesn’t fit together. Patrick Williams does make sense there. He doesn’t need the ball. He’s a good defender and if Royce O’Neal continues to struggle, boom, Patrick Williams, younger guy and you could take a gamble on him while not giving up too much that’s going to impact you. The Bulls, they have a chance to move on from Williams and actually look to a team that could use his skill set and could use a change. And I think the best bet for the Bulls to get maximum value is actually to keep Williams on the team this season. With the lack of scoring options going into the year outside of Kobe White, especially depending on when Vu gets bought out, Williams does have a chance to kind of emerge as a bigger option. Now, obviously, Buzzelis is someone who’s going to get the nod over him, as he absolutely should, but still, Williams will have more of a chance because there isn’t a ton of isolation scoring on this team. So, if he wants to show some part of other bag that he has, it’s over the first half of this season, which makes me think the Bulls should wait a bit, which could and I think will increase his value. Now, on top of that, Sports Illustrated mentioned that Williams is averaging 10 points, nine and a half points per game in his first five NBA seasons with the Bulls. He may not be be the number four overall pick he was when he came into the league, but he can have a decent career as a role player in the NBA. The Suns could benefit from adding a player like Williams, perhaps in a trade involving Nick Richards and Grayson Allen. Now, if the if the Suns and the Bulls agreed to this deal and sent Patrick Williams for a mix of Grayson Allen and Nick Richards, build the statue. I’m serious. This would be a absolute highway robbery to the point where it’s like we’re going to get into a mock trade that I made as well, which I think does even this out a little bit because this trade is absolutely insane to think about. I mean, when you just look at everything surrounding things, Grayson Allen has been a great player in the playoffs over the last couple of years. Obviously, the Bulls aren’t a playoff team, but you get a guy who’s going to be coveted around the league who could definitely flip four assets. And I think that will be a huge part of things when you look at it. And also when you just look at all the contracts, Grayson Allen, he’s got three years left on a deal that for a shooter is fairly standard if anything. I don’t think this is a bad contract at all. And on top of that, you bring in the contract of Nick Richards who’s an expiring deal. So yeah, you take back a little more money this year, but then you have Nick Richards for a year. Someone you could try to lock up longer term. He is going to be 29 next season or 28 next season. He’s going to be 29 the following year. So he is in the prime of his career. You could also look to move him as well. You could move these guys for more assets as well or use Nick Richards as your center for the next little bit. Sign him to an extension once once Vu is gone and trot him out as your starting center for a while. And that’s a completely fine decision as well if you ask me. Now, when looking at the numbers of these guys, when it comes to Williams, we know him nine points per game, four rebounds, two assists, solid defense, only 40% from the field and 35% from three. But he does shoot 39% on the corner threes and is still just going to be 24 going into next season. There’s room for a jump. It’s why I think the Bulls should try to keep him around for the second half or for the first half of this season. Meanwhile, you get Grayson Allen who put up 10 points a game last year with three rebounds. Shot 42 and a half% from three and 49% on corner threes. We know how great of a shooter Grayson Allen is. He would obviously be a huge piece for the Bulls. Being in his prime right now, we’d be able to flip him very soon after as well for draft stock and that’s going to matter later. So, keep that in mind. Meanwhile, Nick Richards is also just a very solid center. nine points, eight rebounds a game, gets a block, very, very good offensive rebounder. The defense does have some issues there, don’t get me wrong, but he’s a solid player with good rebounding skill, and also very good athleticism, good role, man. He’s got a lot of offensive talent, which I think would be big for this Knicks team as well. So, now here’s a move that I think would make sense. If you look at Patrick Williams’ contract, it’s going to be a lot for the rest of his deal. And unless he breaks out, it’s going to stay a bad contract till it’s an expiring deal. though, you’re going to have to add some sort of uh first round pick. You’re going to have to add something protected. Like it you don’t need to give an unprotected pick for Grayson Allen and Nick Richards to move Patrick Williams contract, but you’re going to have to add something because the Suns need draft capital and they’re going to demand a first for this. And I think I think this is a way to get away from things. If you throw in this 2028 first top 10 protected, there’s two years to tank. You do the tank right, you do the rebuild, right? you’re back to the play in or low playoffs the very least in two years if you can get things right. Rebuilds don’t have to take forever. There’s it’s like there’s no skill on this team. If you lock up Kobe White for the foreseeable future, if you have Josh Giddy, if you have Bzelis who keeps developing, you’re not that far off. Like it’s not the craziest distance in the world to once again become a team that then will have stars interested in going there because it’s the market that it is. It’s the Bulls market that’s going to be huge for them. So, I think that’s a big part of things as well to look at. And I honestly think this is a deal that does make a ton of sense because then, as I mentioned before, you then go out there, you use Grayson Allen, you flip him for more. You flip him and get that draft capital back. You then go, “All right, we’ll sell off Grayson Allen to the deadline. What team needs an elite shooter? This team’s contending. They need an elite shooter. We just trade our 2028 first round pick away. We want a draft pick because now we’re a little shorter on draft capital while trying to rebuild. What do you have for us? Perfect scenario there. And then on top of that, Grayson Allen, who will be playing on the Bulls for at least a little bit, is going to get a million touches. You jack up his touches because of the plan. You let him just score the ball at will, average 18 points a game with the Bulls. And then you get a first form and you could probably get for unprotected because it’s going to be a desperate team that needs a shooter and sees that Grayson Allen’s the guy you go for here. That I think is the way for the Bulls complete a complete complete and absolute heist. I couldn’t say complete that much. I literally got my tongue twisted. Guys, what do you think? Umm Pwill was drafted the year before the bulls traded for bozo. And every “expert” said the bulls would draft wiseman if he was available or avdija. Only a small group of fans were wanting haliburton.
Zach Lavine?
Just like u said about the sunset, the bulls have a shit tone of guards themselves. They not bout to trade p will for another one. Delete your account, this shit 🗑
Grayson Allen ………in Chicago?
No, no, no!. I can’t stand this guy. The number of flagrant fouls will go way up. I can’t stand this spoiled, privileged brat.
Grayson Allen….NO THANKS!! Unless he is immediately traded. Terrible idea in general
Stop with the high expectations on pat he’s a solid role player and I hope the bulls keep him. Definitely not for Allen
What kind of irresponsible reporting is this? You reported Patrick Williams was drafted after the Bulls acquired players like DeRozan and Lonzo Ball when it is the other way around. That drug you are on is batshit crazy.
If Pwill flourish in another team it means there's something wrong with the bulls. (Lauri, bobby etc)
Vuč buyout will not happen…
